Construction of the "Villa" began in the early 1800s, but the villa as seen today was completed a century later as final additions were made. The Villa is located in Montefalco, the small town, beautifully placed on top of a 1,500- foot hill, revealing unexpected artistic treasures, such as stunning renaissance paintings by Perugino, Melanzio, Gozzoli, Niccolò and Tiberio of Assisi. During the Easter period, the Winetasting Week takes place, with stands and stalls featuring DOC and DOCG wines of Montefalco, Umbrian wines and other Italian wines. Every summer there is the Montelfalco August festival, with stalls, concerts, theatre and traditional costumes which concludes with the traditional "Fuga del Bove".
