K+K Hotel Opera

Perfect situation. Calm during the night.

All good.

The hotel location is ideal. We were able to walk to all of our destinations and numerous restaurants are nearby as well. In addition, the breakfast was excellent and a wide range of eating options in a large comfortable room. Our room was quite serviceable and the bathroom had been recently updated and plenty of closet space for clothing. Finally, the hotel staff was excellent and very accommodating. They all spoke excellent English and offered to help with all of our questions. We would certainly refer any of our friends to the Hotel Opera- which will be even better when the Opera House re-opens- though you can still get a tour of it.

This is hard to answer because there were no discernable flaws. My only suggestion would be to change the piped in music to something more classical given Hungary's reputation for classical music. It just seemed funny to be in Budapest listening to a lot of American songs from the 60s - 90s.

Good size rooms and beds. Modern bathrooms. Excellent location right next to the opera house and close to St Stephens basilica and the Jewish quarter where the ruin bars are! Staff were really friendly and helpful, and let us keep our bags there in a secure room when we arrived too early for check-in and after checkout as well. Really good value for money.

Corridor can be noisy in the mornings

Fitness suite could do with an update. Steam and sauna open earlier would be a plus.

I asked for a double bed but I was given two single beds pushed together. The extra top layer added to turn them Into double bed is so thin almost like a sheet which means it does not cover the gap between the beds.

Reception is 24 hours which was great for us as we arrived at 1am. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast was very lovely. Hotel is also in a great central location.

Room was a little warm and you were unable to lower the temperature past a certain point, we slept with the window open, but it gets a little loud at night with the party revellers on their way home.

The breakfast is fantastic. The location is close to Charles bridge and the castle. The rooms are updated with floor heating, and choice of pillows, although I had a twin and it was very small. I would recommend to others.

My room was right at the main entrance and across from reception so at 7am you start hearing a little noise. At night it was quiet though. If you get a twin room see if you can request one that isn’t across from reception.

Excellent place with very good location. We are travelling very often to Budapest for work and after the first time we slept in this hotel, we are going always there.

Bed was comfortable, staff friendly and helpful, the hotel and room were clean. We went ate out so cannot comment on the cooking. Loads of restaurants within easy walking distance. Loads of sites within easy walking distance.

Perfect location - just next to the Opera house, theatres, good restaurants and the Basilica are within few min walking distance. Nice and clean room with a perfect bed. Very good breakfast, friendly staff

Felt a bit dated but was still very nice

My room was not ready at check in time, which was a little disappointing - but the woman at reception was very apologetic and explained the situation (last minute minor matainance)I had a free drink in the bar and it was all sorted quickly. Room was in good order - clean etc no issues. The woman at reception was also v helpful in arranging late night pick up at the airport so I could meet a friend who was arriving later. Hotel was very good esp for cost, beds v comfy. Would have been nice to have a bath instead of just shower, but not a major issue. V centrally located, but just off the main road so also quiet. Safe area, no issue walkng around late at night. Good stay.

Lovely comfy bed. Nice varied breakfast. Nice large friendly bar and friendly staff throughout who were very helpful.

Only niggle was. We had stayed in the k and k in Prague and their breakfast was a bit more varied and had Prosecco too.

The breakfast was one of the better we have seen. There were the entire range of what you would expect. We were positive surpriced. We've stayed in many hotels over the years, but this breakfast was the best. The service during the breakfast was impeccapble. The room itself was clean, warm and cozy and the bathroom was great - i love gigantic shower heads. The general service of the hotel is to the highest standard. We were on occastions offered a service, that we were not even aware that we needed. They assisted us with bookings of different arrangements, transport, guide and restaurants. The gym is a simple one. It covers your basic needs for cardio-training. Just what we needed. If however it is important that you want a hotel with heavy machinery, this is not the place. The cleanliness of the hotel was top notch.

GREAT CENTRAL LOCATION NEAR METRO, TRAMS, ETC. GREAT BREAKFAST AND SERVICE. FRONT DESK STAFF VERY HELPFUL. BEST OF ALL WERE HOW COMFY THE BEDS AND BEDDING WERE. I LOOKED FORWARD TO GOING TO OUR ROOM KNOWING THE “CLOUD” WAS THERE.

The breakfast was good, just the things you would want from a hotel breakfast. You got your fruit and vegetables, bacon and eggs and toast if you'd like. Crown that with a large variety of coffee, and you're good to go. The hotel staff were very friendly and the the hotel bar had very good service. Location of the hotel is perfect.

Great hotel in the heart of Budapest !

Great hotel! Clean and right in the middle of Budapest (the opera house is literally right next door). Front desk (Agnes) was very helpful and accommodateing. Breakfast was nice as well. Would definitely return.

The room key system is a little strange, not bad, just strange.

Outstanding Value!

The staff was friendly and hard working. The breakfast was great and kept me full until supper time. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. Enjoyed using the treadmill in the fitness center. With today's strong US dollar, you can live like a king in Budapest at the K+K Hotel.

Excellent location. Very close to metro and busses. Quiet location just off main street. Steps from opera house. Room was very nice . Comfortable bed, clean. I was on first floor and the view was of wall. Not a problem as I did not spend much time in the room. The breakfast was excellent with great variety. Staff helpful and friendly.

The receptionists were generally VERY helpful, including one who worked the phone for ten or fifteen minutes and got me an incomprehensible deal on a personal day trip to the tokaji wine region, picked up and dropped off at the hotel, with tours of three vineyards and tastings with the nicest guide ever, scheduled less than two days before the trip. This wad a highlight of my stay in Hungary. They also let me extend my stay for two additional nights jist the day before my scheduled checkout, although the cost of the room went up rather significsntly (it was very cheap to start, though, considering the quality of the hotel). The typical hotel provisions to the room are rather minimal though (soap extremely tiny, no slippers, only one box of tissues), so I found myself asking for things at the front desk a lot, which made me feel a bit awkward.
