Guest House Porto Clerigus

Handy for the centre of town, just around the corner from Lello books.

Very noisy at night - this is the night-life area. Our room was up in the roof-space with only a sky-light and we needed to put the light on during the day. The shower room was basic and a bit tatty, but the shower did work well. Breakfast room was very small and crowded.

Location is fantastic as the guest house is central and you don't require public transport. Guest house is modern and room was basic and clean. Bed is quite small for two people. Bathroom was good but drawback is that the bathroom door is transparent and no door handle to get out. I struggled to open the sliding door after taking shower and my friend had to open it for me from the other side. Dangerous if you travel by yourself. Breakfast was basic as they provide a croissant and 2 rolls with butter and yam. Coffee, tea, water and juice were also available for breakfast.

Guest House is located in main party street. Every night hundreds of people are partying on the streets and in the clubs. Impossible to sleep as we heard Club music from at least 3 bars until 6 am. Our room was located to the back but all the clubs had the windows open and we heard everything. Windows in our room are not soundproof. It also rained a lot and there was horrible noise of the water splashing against metal roofs. Windows are really not sound proof and we had 3 sleepless nights and were looking forward to head home. It is an amazing location if you want to party in Porto as so many bars and clubs are on your doorstep. Not suitable for romantic or relaxing trip in Porto.
