Waterfront location, architecturally attractive older main building Steep parking cost, no free wifi in the (ancillary) building I was in
Greeted with friendliness at front desk We have stayed at Hyatts all over the world. I booked this ONLY because it was a Hyatt and couldn't have been more disappointed. Valet Parking guy was a jerk, the facility was filthy and run down. The Room was dirty, stairs were dirty, the hallway was dirty. We just were at the Hyatt in Cancun and couldn't have had a nicer stay. We usually book Hyatts because we expect them to have a high standard for these things. If I was Hyatt Management I would get my name off this place it is more of a Travel Lodge or Motel 6 (Actually the Motel 6 across the street looked cleaner. Honestly, They should give me my money back it was that terrible of a stay.
Walking out of my room and seeing the beach just across Cabrillo was swell. It made it easy to watch the sun set.
The location is very close to the watefront and a short cab ride from downtown The front desk staff was incredibly rude and the rooms are generally pretty crummy for the prices that you're paying. Everything in Santa Barbara is pretty pricey this time of year though.
The hotel is literally a 2-minute walk to the beach; in fact, you can see the beach from the inn! The room was very clean and the owner is very nice and friendly. He uses a text-messaging system that made everything so much easier for us as we were driving through PCH and were unaware of road closures. The owner graciously warned us about that and we were able to alter our plans in time. There's free parking and Wi-Fi and a pool if you just want to hang out. The breakfast was modest, but that was perfect for us as we do not need big breakfasts to get us going for the day. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice, clean place to stay near the beach in SB. A bit overpriced, but I think that may be due to its close proximity to the beach and just general SB hotel rates.
This hotel has spacious, clean rooms. Communication was through text message with the hotel owner. There was a nice breakfast prepared each morning. It felt like an apartment complex and your landlord was watching you. I prefer to have more privacy. This hotel is overpriced as well.
The peaceful quite building, they have free ice by the rooms, coffe in the rooms, tv, everything you may need, and what ever you forgot to bring, they have there
Location is good. Best about the SB house is the park across the street if you bring dogs. Don't mind all the homeless and riff raff lingering around. View out my window was of a dirty old roof and satellites dishes everywhere. Close hang drying outside next door. For the price point the room was well under standard.
The check in process was easy - the people are beyond friendly - the rooms are comfy (great bedding). We booked too late to get a good price- we paid twice what our friends did.
Great location. Just steps from the beach. Great breakfast. Uncomfortable bed, furniture looked worn/heavily used. The toilet and toilet seat were OLD. Like they probably didn't change it out when they bought and remodeled the place. The floor in the bathroom was disgusting - a woven grass cloth/vinyl. I'm sure it holds all the germs. Old metal shower doors were just painted over. Tv only had about 10 working channels. In general for what I paid, I definitely expected more. The pics make it seem much nicer than it is.
