Lovely rooms, comfortable beds, excellent wifi and very professional and accomodating staff who couldn’t do enough to make our stay pleasurable . We asked for bacon to be added to the breakfast buffet which they did for the next 2 mornings . The hotel seemed to adhere very well to all the new protocols related to Covid. Would also like to mention the Guest services manager who went out of his way to help us. Thank you, we will stay at the Sofitel again

Everyone went over and beyond to help with any request. We especially couldn’t thank them enough for their help in getting us to the Yellow Mountains in Huangshan. Being foreigners it was extra difficult to get into the park. Breakfast was excellent!

The only downside was, that due to Covid-19 some of the restaurants were not fully open. As the hotel is a walk away from the city, it was very limited in what was available for lunch and dinner. In saying that the hotel had a good but basic room service menu.

The checkin girl was very friendly...cant really recall her name.. maybe is angie. And we got free upgrade to executive floor. Room came with nice view and lounge food was nice.

We booked executive floor this time as we expected to spend time in the hotel. Included is a welcome drink in the lobby bar, free access to the lounge on the 30st floor, the hotel offer a generous selection of wine, snack and food in the lounge, followed by a fantastic view of the city. Included was also a good breakfast with western and Asian food. Helpful and kind staff all over. Very good location directly on Nanjing Road and a 150 meters walk from metro line 2 station that have a direct connection to Pudong airport. 12 minutes walk to the Bund.

Absolutely recommendable place with its main advantage having Line 2 of Shanghai Metro just around the corner. Esily to reach by Pudong Airport (Line 2) and by Shanghai Hongqiao Airport (also line 2).

The location is fantastic, in the very center and very easy to go to the metro. The staff was impeccable, very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast is top level. Very good Hotel indeed!

Such excellent location steps from the subway, walking street (Nanjing East Road), the Bund, People's Square..

a A taxi driver not familiar with or recognizing the ramp that leads up to the lobby entrance refused to take a left onto the ramp while arriving the property on Jiujiang Road. The hotel could consider improving with some attractive signage to guide unknowledgeable drivers! ;-)

Cost of drinks in the bar was expensive, but close by outside was plenty of value beer and food offers.

I'm not fully convinced that carpet in the room had properly cleaned. My eyes are sensitive to carpet dust.

The location was amazing, right in the middle of a major shopping district. The bed was comfortable as was the rain shower. The room was very quiet, and the breakfast was great. Super value for the money. All of the hotel staff were helpful and spoke very good English. Walking distance to major train lines and the Bund.

The location at night is not great if you're a single guy. I got nagged to buy prostitutes on the road about 15-20 times over the course of 24 hours. Just wave them off--they are harmless--but something to be aware of when walking back from the Bund area.

I loved that the hotel is beautifully and timelessly styled. The place feels new and clean. The rooms make you feel very relaxed.

The restroom on the ground floor (leading to East Nanjing Road) was filthy. It felt out of place in such a beautiful hotel.

The lift in the hotel makes the building seem very old. It is due for renovation.

Central location to city attractions. Hotel was generous in allowing a late checkout as many customers were catching a cruise with a mid afternoon boarding..

Location, location, location ! We planned to visit the Bund & have dinner on the Bund on our day of arrival and it was very convenient to be able to walk to it as the hotel is right on Nanjing road. It also made shopping convenient on Nanjing Road. The Sofitel is a very comfortable hotel. It is the third time I stay there. I always come back to it for its location. For the second time now I am upgraded to Club room with club service which is lovely. Our room had a view on the Pearl Tower. Staff is very friendly and polite. Breakfast buffet is good with a wide selection.

The bfast buffet was a hit and affordable . In the middle of all the action on Nanjing Rd. Staff were helpful and friendly as well.

Location is perfect, staff very welcome ethical, the view from my room was great.

I went yo use the restroom on the first floor outside elevators and restroom was very stinky, dirty almost or worse than the public metro restroom.
