Plus: Booked online
Minus: I arrive at rental car pickup at Key West airport to find they gave my reservation away. I had no car & was stranded in Key West. I was told this was common practice at this location.

Minus: Model I got (mustang) only fit 2 adults. Back seat couldn’t admit people or suitcases

Plus: Called and called and got no live person to speak with locally or voicem automation hell could not hear my number and I was never forwarded to a representative.. Drove all the way down to the reservation counter at the airport or took an uber and was rudely told that their were no cars available after I had already reserved my reservation online for a noon pickup. He said check back after six. Really. And While I was there three cars had been turned in while I was speaking with him. He said well you are welcome to go somewhere else.
Minus: I booked because I thought I could pick up a car at noon. and their were no drop off charges to take the car to another airport.

Minus: I had already gotten insurance. My husband went alone to get the car and ended up getting even more insurance from the sales person which we were then not able to get a refund for

Poor managament and paperwork and sloppy record keeping.
Plus: Great car to drive through the Florida Keys
Minus: Poor paperwork and paperwork management. Received paper for a different car than the one we ordered because, as we were told, the correct paperwork wasn't available "but it would be fixed tomorrow". Were directed to the wrong berth for the correct car (what we had ordered). Passenger window would not shut all the way. The original errors in paperwork at the pick-up lead to difficulties returning the car, as Budget/Avis had no record of our car. We had to walk away from the return counter with only a verbal assurance that "the manager would sort it all out" and I would receive an email. Received a cell phone call from the pick-up desk asking if I wanted to keep the car longer, after it had already been returned. After all this, every time we turned on the car, we were reminded that the vehicle needed an oil change. Not reassuring at all.
