Pool The Ocean View Room was not Really an Ocean view. We had to spend a lot more to get a slight view of ocean.
Suite at the Montage was fantastic with views to die for - great property with paths to the beach. The room had a comfortable bed, plenty of closet space, the room was made up at night with turn down service - overall one of our favorite places of all time, ever! Food items a little pricy ($100+) for 2 omelets and Belgium waffles for breakfast and while we like nice places to stay we often find that the "high end" food is a little too gourmet for our tastes and we found ourselves not eating on the property after the first day.
Swimming pool and sea view were so beautiful the room is a little small
Booked an ocean-front room. It was 1/2 level above the pool and walkway to rooms. No way you could leave the blinds open to enjoy the view without people staring in. Asked for another room and was told none available; this at 3:40 pm. There we still lots of people checking in later. I believe that because I did not book directly, I was not given priority on this and below. And, arrived at 2:00 pm and told we could not check in until 4:00 pm. We were not offered a hospitality room and found later that they had them. When we did check in, were informed that check out was by noon. So, though rented a room for a day...it was really 20 hrs. We were given a dining credit, but in no way made up for the room. And then.....there was the non-operating elevator. After staying at the hotel 20+ times in the past on business, I will not return.
Hotel is directly on the beach, and I mean, at high tide, 15 feet from the surf. All rooms face the ocean. Romantic dining restaurant with views of the ocean. There are floodlights illuminating the surf so you can see the ocean while you dine. Below the restaurant is a very cool bar, also, directly on the beach. Excellent location as they say. The pool sundeck is nice and the valet service was good. pool was heated and there is a jacuzzi. The property is older and they can charge the money because of their location. You wouldn't pay this amount if the property wasn't on the beach. Byzantine design and labyrinth of hallways makes for a confusing layout and difficult to get anywhere on the property. The pool is not a resort pool and is only the size and shape of something you would encounter at any discount chain motel. There is no separation of brats from the spa and pool so peace and quiet in those areas with your honey will be difficult.
Location, rooms. Customer service could be better, we requested an early check in which they said was not a problem, we got there around 11am their regular check in is at 4:00pm, they told us our room wasn't ready yet but it would be ready soon. 4 hours later and still wasn't, they finally call us around 3:15pm to tell us that our room was ready, so we went to check in and when we said our name they told us it was a mistake that our room wasn't ready yet! So finally we check in at 3:50 pm, I guess still an early check in right? To top it off, when we received our bill, they charged us for a wrong service for almost $100 more! I don't know if we will be back.
The views No air conditioning
I love the location and the room. I did not like that no one informed me that paying for beach-side view would include the 7am wake up from street construction crew that was directly below me. Jackhammers going at 8am which at that point I decided to not extend my stay and check out! If I had known I would have never even stayed there in the first place!!!
Location was amazing and price was great. Pool, breakfast and view was our favorite. Our room was on the first floor and when we walked in we noticed it was damp in the room. Then we noticed that our room was half underground. So we figured for 1 night, with the location and price that we would just deal with it. Later that night after going out for cocktails and dinner we came back into the room to find that it was still really damp like an old basement even with the air conditioning on high for hours. After reading all the ridiculous rules and instructions about the whirlpool we got in to find out non of the controls worked so it was an all or nothing experience. Hours later in the middle of the night I awoke to the air conditioning make loud noises. In the morning I found that the carpet around the whirlpool was wet due to some kind of leak from the water closet. Also no air conditioning in the bathroom. All and all the place was very nice but they didn't offer any discount or anything for our experience. *don't stay on the first floor.
The parking structure is excellent in an area that's hard to park. The location, even though it's a bit south from the action is good. The views from the room and deck are also great. The room is plenty spacious and well layed out. Would stay again. The staff is so, so. Erin was great and gave us an upgrade which we are grateful for. But other staff were not so helpful. The air conditioner is either on or off. If you set a temperature, it simply ignores it. I tried to get it fixed with no result. I was told that all air conditioners work that way. I needed some ice and finally found it on the third floor. The machine was out of order with a sign that says to use the one on the second floor. The layout is difficult to say the least. When I couldn't find it, I asked the front desk where it would be and was told that's in the garage and the entry is through the second floor. Enough said.
Breakfast, view, accessible! Great deal for the money! Pool was kind of shabby, needed upgrade. Very difficult to get in n out of bathtub for showering!
Great staff, hotel and overall experience. Very well maintained. Clean and they pay attention to the little things. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was great. We will defiantly be staying there again next trip without a doubt. The one thing that stood out to me immediately was the doors to the rooms.. they were structured in a way to be secure, safe and worry free when you left the room. A little pricy, but honestly you get your money's worth.
Location, location. Aliso Viejo beach is always our destination beach, when we go into the laguna area. Very convenient location. We were a little worried when we arrived to our front hotel room, to find it was right next to the breakfast area. It actually turned out to be a perfect location, woke up and strolled right next door to eat. Food was great! Great access into the city after breakfast. No complaints, will definitely be back.
Awesome location, great value. The whole "surf hotel" vibe is well done. You can walk right into town along the beachfront promenade. As a added bonus, the hotel coffee is actually pretty good.
We only stayed one night but felt so comfortable the moment we walked in. You can park right in the hotel for only $15 a day and it is just a few steps into the hotel from the parking garage! There are only 36 rooms so it feels more comfortable then a large hotel. The rooms are so cute and fit the beach vibe. The staff are very nice and helpful. They had a bunch of great amenities like, milk and cookies at the end of the night, wine hour, a fire pit down by the pool to hang out by, and coffee/yogurt & granola in the morning. We will be coming back for a longer stay!
Great staff, comfortable rooms. A little noisy off of 101 but not too bad.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating The housekeeping in the room was not very good. The robe was not hung up. The bathtub and basin did not drain very well. The room was a bit noisy from people sitting out by the pool. The air conditioning was very loud and not very effective. The room had a stale air from lack of circulation.
Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The room was big and gorgeous, the pool and amenities were lovely, and the staff was very warm. The homemade milk and cookies at night and yogurt and granola in the morning sealed the deal. We missed the wine hour but I'm sure it was lovely. For a birthday getaway, this place was wonderful. We would definitely come back again! Thank you!
The renovations really turned LB House into something special. Staff are great people. Location is amazing. Rooms are great. I grew up in Laguna Beach and often the hotels seem to assume that Laguna will "sell itself" and they don't have to put the effort in, but this hotel isn't like that. Nothing I don't like about LB House. Place is sweet.
Helpful and friendly staff upgraded my teenage son and I to 2 queen beds (only 1 King was available online when I booked). The rooms were lovely and clean, very comfy beds. Located walking distance to beach. Great pool, hot tub, fire pit for evening/afternoon use. Had a great time. Had a downstairs room and the ceiling/floor above was very squeaky so when occupants above moved around you could hear every step...difficult to sleep through.
The Laguna Beach House was recently renovated by new owners, so everything was very clean, white and bright, with excellent beach décor, comfortable beds and a hip vibe. The people at the front desk were so kind and helpful, making restaurant suggestions and offering to make reservations. They even offer an umbrella, towels and chairs to take down to the beach a short 5 minute walk away. We will be back! Nothing. Stay was fantastic.
Wonderful location near Heisler Park and walk to town, beach, restaurants. Staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful and happy. Loved being greeted so positively! Rooms were clean and luxurious - loved balcony for morning coffee. Truly wished we stayed longer.
From the excellent staff to the well appointed rooms, we enjoyed our stay The check in was easy. The staff gave us excellent information about the hotel and area. The room was comfortable and the mini bar and selections were great. We enjoyed the cookie time The pool and spa were clean and easily assessible. The fire pit was warm with great music playing.
The room was clean and had a great view of the ocean The tub needs to be replaced. It was old and looked like it seen better days.
Location It was horrible it was old and grungy and dirty and there are no locks on the windows there's cracks in the walls carpet was filthy the windows were filthy I have a two-year-old that could open the windows and there is no screen no lock she could've fallen out it was horrible I got food poisoning from the breakfast we had at that restaurant that's attached to the hotel I've been sick for two days it is absolutely horrible and I would never go back
Location was everything, literally right on the sand. Best part about the hotel was the restaurant. Man, where to start! First I must say, me and my girlfriend are not picky travelers. We are completely fine staying in a motel 6 if it is clean and up to par. Hotel Laguna is far from par. Every time we'd go take a shower, the faucet would randomly shoot out scalding hot water and burned my girlfriend twice. Our window was broken, so I had to hang out the window to tighten a loose screw so it would work. We had a garden/ocean view when we booked our hotel, but we looked at nothing but the parking lot all weekend. The staff member that checked us in looked completely disinterested, and couldn't even give us proper change for our receipt. Overall, don't waste your money here, like I said the best part is the restaurant, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!
Amazing location, our room had a really nice view, the room was clean, small and simply furnished but charming. The hotel is older but I still liked the historical vibe and it felt cozy and quaint. Restaurant had a fantastic view and good food, would happily stay there again. Staff was really nice, price was reasonable, especially for New Years. Could use a fridge in the room.
the location is top - very central, next to the Laguna beach and the strip a not-so friendly receptionist put me up in a room facing the street, despite I asked for a quiet room. She cited that there aren't any rooms available, however, I headed out to explore the town and upon my return and later inquiry with reception (much nicer personnel now), there was a room available but at an extra charge which wasn't worthwhile.
The location is directly on the coast and smack dab on Main Beach which is fantastic. The hotel itself and rooms are ancient and have not been updated AT ALL. The hotel was rebuilt in 1930 (originally 1888). There was no air conditioning, the windows still looked original (single pane) and blocked minimal sound. We heard car alarms incessantly and the people below. The room and bathroom were tiny and old and didn't look clean...mold throughout the bathroom tile grout. The window treatment looked like something out of a horror flick...the rod was completely askew with dirty 70's style curtains. We left the hotel without staying a single night.
Location is great! One of the few "private beach" strips in SoCal with bar service on the beach. Great view and beach is swimmer friendly, especially a hundred yards to the north (kelp bed right off the hotel beach...better swimming a hundred yards north). Hotel is historic, and so are the rooms. Bathrooms are still "period" and vintage but functional. NEVER, EVER book a "village view" room. What that means is that your room is on the street side of the hotel, mere feet from a very busy street. We could hear the hoots and hollers from the bar right across the street loud and clear. And, street sweepers and trash trucks do their thing at night. AND, the hotel is NOT air conditioned so the window needs to be open if it's hot. MUCH better to pay the extra cash to be on any side other than the street/east side of the building with an ocean front or garden view.
location, on the beach, great bar, good breakfast the rooms need srucing up.They look tired and worn out.
The staff were very helpful; the food was delicious; and the ocean front views and beach access wonderful. Hotel was originally built in 1929 so the rooms are bit small.
I left a pair of heels purposely in the trash basket because they were badly marked and 'banged up' after attending an outdoor wedding in a lemon grove in Oxnard. (I figured that by placing them in the trash it would signify that I was tossing them.) I was pleasantly surprise to receive a phone call from the front desk asking me if I had accidently left them and wanted them mailed to me at home in CT. Amazing
Great cozy place
This was a nice and comfortable resort with clean rooms and decent food. Rooms have been updated and decor is a hybrid of transitional contemporary and traditional. WiFi was good and Staff was friendly. If you're an ATT mobile subscriber, the cell signal was weak. You will have to switch to calling over WiFi.
I loved the location. The staff provided chairs, umbrellas, etc. For the beach. Loved the happy hour on the roof overlooking the ocean!
Location. . Stuck in one of five rooms that are located on highway. All others look at ocean Gardener starting clipping bushes in front of my room at 7am Room was no better than motel 6.
Friendly staff. Great location for town, beach, and roads. Excellent breakfast en suite. Room was small. Rooms on 100 level kind of loud.
It was a WONDERFUL place. Quaint. Warm, lovely pool. Sunset view, terrific walking/running path along oceanfront. We loved the "green" mindset too. Enjoyed the ambience of the lobby: pleasant morning jazz music as they offered free Starbucks. And for the price...can't beat it all. I would have liked a heads up on the $29 a day parking fee. Most other hotels/Inns will give you that up front. The receptionist just asked if we had a car (I should have asked I guess), gave me a parking tag and it seemed easy. But we paid less in San Diego downtown to park at the Bristol where there was no parking to be had elsewhere.
The staff went above & beyond to make our stay fabulous!!
Room was very comfortable. Perfect location and beautiful views
The guy who poured our wine was great! That's a great thing to have. The staff was great too
The location was wonderful and they took us in last minute, which saved our trip! We had a nice room that was clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel was nothing spectacular (no extras), more like an inn than an actual hotel.
The staff was very friendly. I felt like family! No microwave in the room
Walking distance to beach, shopping, and all of Laguna's great dining. Also right near grocery store.
Location Rooms were in the small side
How modern and clean it was, the staff was great also Just how small the parking lot and drive way was, I have a full size car I can't see how a truck can fit in there

Kitchenette & larger bathroom with roomy tub/shower combo. Comfortable bed (Tempur-pedic). Self-parking. Cable box in closet. Light outside of fogged glass door is on (no switch to turn off) until very late at night & makes room 'light' even though blackout curtain covering window.
My favorite place to stay whenever I go to Laguna. I'm here at least once a month No not at all
Studio was set up nicely. Very convenient location close to beach, coffee shops and restaurants. The jacuzzi/hot tub was not working.

Great bed. Room clean and outside sitting area was very lovely and comfortable. The kitchenette area was very helpful. The two little refrigerators were useful. The room was dark. There was minimal overhead lighting and no lamps. The couch was uncomfortable. The cabinets in the kitchen were more like pull out drawers and two were difficult to open due to their weight. Noisy due to chatty people and traffic.
Cleanness 2nd floor with steps. Not good for bad knees.
Loved the rooms, super clean & modern! The kitchenette had everything which was so nice. Plates, wine glasses, bowls, toaster, little stove, 2 refridgerators with little freezers, coffee machine, a couple bottles of water. The bathroom was super nice! The stairs were kind of a pain. The jacuzzi didn't work, the employee at least tried to make it work but couldn't. The biggest reason why we booked the hotel was because of the jacuzzi. So that was a real bummer. Otherwise I love the hotel.
The privacy and room Really looked forward to going in the hot tub with my girlfriends as that was a main reason I booked his place and no one even told me it was it if order when I spoke to them on the phone. So it was very disappointing to discover when we arrived.
Didn't like not being able to cover the skylights, Wanted to sleep in, but couldn't because of the light!
Excellent in nearly every way, especially if you're looking for nice design and great location just across PCH from the coast. The only negative for us was that my lady works night shift and since these rooms have skylights which illuminate the rooms nicely during daylight hours...Nice touch and wonderful, but in our case it was a challenge to sleep during the day.
Location was excellent with great beach access. Good value for the money. Hotel staff were excellent. Rooms were very small. I understand the Hotel is undergoing some renovation but a lot of the hotel just looked "tired". Roof top access with view, etc is incredible. Unfortunately, it is open to the public and other catered events so we were never able to get a table there in the evening. The place was absolutely packed (wall to wall people).
The roof top bar is amazing. The location is perfect for strolling and window shopping. The roof was stuffy at night.
Friendly staff, few steps walk to beach, free parking, comfortable bed, bath window opens for fresh air, free breakfast. Cramped & dark room, sink outside toilet area, no coffee in room, elevator difficult to locate, parking free but across busy street/inconvenient.
Brand restaurant on premises, staff was courteous and hotel was close to beach. Room was on the small side as well as bathroom
The hotel was in a great location, and had an awesome rooftop bar/lounge. The room was cozy, and very comfortable. Loved the idea of the overhead fan. The carpet is old and some of the walls are cracking/chipped. The hotel should be renovated for the price they charge per room.
I liked the rooftop atmosphere when I get was able to go up and the location. Staff was nice and the room was clean with very a comfortable bed. Breakfast was fairly decent, it was good. I didn't like that I couldn't use some of the areas the hotel offers, like I couldn't have dinner at the restaurant one of the nights I stayed due to a wedding that was happening, I couldn't go to the rooftop and have appetizers for lunch as well for the same reason. I was put in a petite room when that wasn't what I payed for, too small for 2 people, we kept bumping into each other. I was very frustrated by that. The hotel was nice but a bit dated, would I stay there again? Not sure, the small room turned me off.
Excellent interaction with helpful and professional staff, lovely architecture, location and decor, clean and well-maintained rooms, good complimentary breakfast The pool could be cleaned more frequently and maintained at a slightly warmer temperature
Beautifuly kept hotel and grounds. Beautiful room with fireplace. The staff was extremly accomidating and friendly. Could not have asked for a better stay anywhere! There were only a couple of thing with the room that could be better, but they are minute. A second trash can would have been convenient as well as a toilet plunger. The faucet in the sink extended too far out, so washing your face was a bit of a challenge. Small compared to all the amazing things about the room, the hotel and the incredible staff!

Location close to Heisler Park and within walking distance of downtown. Nice outdoor facilities too. No
Great value and location. Wish there was a hot tub.
It was quaint, parking was available, it was close to downtown. Minor- the bathroom needed a fan to help with the moisture and the wall plugs needed to be tighter to hold my phone charging plug.
I love the location. Very close to the beach, restaurants, Ocean Ave. gas station, market. Also, I love the post card. It's a great way to remember the name and location. I sent 12 cards to my family and friends. The heated pool and fireplace was relaxing
closer to the park and beach than i anticipated, and an easy walk to restaurants traffic noise is almost unbearable. otherwise, minor: garbage behind the night stand, a bulb burned out, smokers by the pool.
DO NOT STAY HERE. 2 story hotel complex, with no elevator. No air conditioning. Sure, you can open the windows for ventilation, but then everyone that walks by can see everything you're doing unless you close the really thick curtains, which don't allow in the breeze. So if you're getting ready to go out, you either lose privacy by opening the curtains, or get ready in your unventilated room. And at night, if you leave the balcony and windows open for air, you don't have a screen or anything, so technically someone could reach in or if the balcony is close to the walkway, they could walk in to your room. I'm 5 foot 1, and I practically had to duck to wash my hair in the shower (not an exaggeration). The hot water/cold water gauge didn't work, so you'd have to guess which way was which, and sometimes once you thought you got it right, it just went the complete opposite temperature mid shower. The towel rack fell when I went to pull off the towel. Staff couldn't find my confirmation at c...
Very overrated and over priced. The only thing it has going for it is that it is on the beach. Our room's shower didn't work and patio locks were broken. Both staff members were snotty and not helpful. They gave us a new room after much hassle. That room didn't have a remote for the TV and the phone did not work. Everything in the room was old and broken. Closet doors hard to use, no air conditioning. The pictures of the hotel provided online make it look very fancy. It is a typical, run down beach hotel. All it has going for it is that it is on the beautiful Laguna beach. Wont go there again!
Our anniversary trip to Laguna was great. The Capri hotel was clean and we had the honeymoon suite with a fireplace. We had a great time, and the hotel was good. We had a great dinner in town and walked down the beach at night. Overall a great anniversary experience.
There was no air conditioning so I brought a fan from home and we also used one of theirs and had them running the whole time. If you stay in a ocean view room, I think one wouldn't be disappointed. for a beach front property, we were very happy with our stay. So much in fact, my husband wanted me to book another night! I did find some things that definetely needed replacing, but I think that is just wear and tear with being on the beach. You can't beat the location, and parking is a tad tight, but we thankfully got there early, and found a spot and left the car for the entire stay! There is a free trolley that will take you into town so you will not need your car. I found the staff very helpful when I had questions. The maintenence and desk staff were VERY helpful and pleasant. The b-fast provided is something to get you through to lunch and is very much what a continential b-fast is supposed to be. Some people wrote how awful it was, but I don't think croisants would warrant that com...
No air conditioning. Even though it is on the beach, it was impossible to get a breeze to go through the room because there was only one window (in the bathroom) and the balcony door. Light fixtures, towel rack needs revamping. However, the price is incredible for the location and lots of restaurants, shopping and activities within walking distance.
For starters...the hotel is not as nice as it seems in their website. It is much smaller and it smells. If you are a woman I would strongly suggest to stay away from this hotel. The staff are rude and condescending. The phone, the fridge and the lock were busted and no attempts were made to fix them. The only good thing this hotel has going for it is its location. Other than that...it's just not worth it!
I was very excited because my wife and I arrived at night, but the rooms need a major overhaul. We did not want to step on the carpet with our bare feet because they were so gross. I felt like I was catch a disease from the carpet and bedspread.
Our experience here was not a good one. The room phone was not connected and there was not a remote for television. All the furniture was old and cheap. There was not an air-conditioner (my mistake for not checking on that). The fan for the room was very small and poorly located and therefore could not cool down the room. The bedding was just adequate. Overall, I felt this room was not worth the mopey we paid. We had to park off site because there was insufficient parking on site. I understand this is common for the beach, but the parking spaces at the off site facility were very small (and my car is not!). I will not stay here again.\n
This place was so bad. I had to change rooms twice due to the carpets being wet. Then I was not able to get the heat on. The breakfast was so bad....just go out for breakfast.
This hotel has become me and my wifes favorite place on earth! she and i had a wonderful time in our room the view was breath taking the tv had a dvd player and vhs which was a bonus since we had just bought movies for home there was a mini refridgerator in the room which was good for the wine it was very comfortable i loved it
there was never more than 1 person at the front desk, and they were always backed up. rooms needed remodeling in fact they asked after 3 days if we would move to another room to accomodate a carpet man coming in. we said no. horrible housekeeping and rooms in great need of upgradin.
I feel that they could take better care of the rooms. The gardens were beautiful. We had to request a clean bed cover for the bed. We had stains. The toilet back up a couple of times but they were quick to fix it. We had to ask for towels. There were four of us and they didn't treat us like it. We had to ask for extra everything. We had to go and get soap the second day. The maid left none. The people who ran it were very nice. No I wouldn't stay with them again
I had a truly great experience at this inn. Firstly, it is owned and operated by the nicest people! Very warm and easy-going. You feel very welcome immediately. Second, the location is amazing. Just a short walk from a gorgeous park and beach. Ocean views from the third building are very pretty and soothing. Definitely try and book that building. Also, interiors of rooms are all newly updated with a contemporary stylish decor. Beds are simply perfect. They were designed just for the inn as part of their renovations. Not too soft, not too firm - just right. Very similar to beds at Four Seasons!! Made to the same specs, I believe. Bathrooms are really high-end with two shower heads, one rainfall, beautiful fixtures, etc. . The owner mentioned that they are waiting for permits to do exterior renovations, so don't be concerned that the outside is not updated! Excellent value in Laguna with the nicest people and gorgeous location. Highly recommend.
Great place. Perfect location with 2 minute walk to private beach. simple and not a big hotel but very nice rooms. owner is really awesome and actually gave us a free bottle of wine.
The rooms are good size - we had a group of 14 in three rooms (4 were small children) and with 2 queen beds and a hide-a-bed in each room we were comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is not a luxury hotel - but very clean and family-oriented! Close to the beach and art galleries and eating places.
I needed a place to start over and landed here. Gail, the owner, was very helpful in giving me a room. She offers rooms in a variety of sizes and they were more than adequate for my needs. Gail runs the property and knows Laguna very well - she is always available to help out and Isis, a member of her staff, was great at pointing out local food and activities. It can be a little challenging finding your room if you're on an upper floor. The space outside one floor had a water spill.
Independent hotel; cool location; affordable. Laguna Beach is a fun but pricey town. The hotel recommended Madison Square and Gardens Cafe for breakfast and it was great. This hotel is right across the street from a very nice public beach and about 3/4 of a mile from the main strip of shops and galleries and restaurants. They very nicely let us borrow beach toys after it was technically check-out time. Soft fluffy bath towels. 24-hour front desk. Good parking. The person staffing the front desk when we arrived did not acknowledge I was waiting in front of him until he was darn good and ready. The person he was training did, so I knew I wasn't actually invisible. Until he finally greeted me, I honestly couldn't tell if he knew I was there even though I was about two feet in front of him. That was weird and off-putting to start. No fan or other ventilation in the bathroom; the room was like a sauna all day and night even with the AC on. Everything felt sort of clammy. The room seemed more grubby than artsy. Decorative pillows piled on the bed were not appealing, just made me wonder how often those covers got laundered. No accessible electrical outlet by the beds; didn't realize how much I missed that until I couldn't have it. Crumpled up info sheet on the desk in the room said to see hotel map on the other side, but the map was gone. The window did not seem to lock.
The hotel is blocks away from the beach and across be street from the Laguna Beach trolley. The hotel's art work is really cool and we really enjoyed the private balcony the room had. The hotel proprietors seemed a little bit unfocused and honestl a bit worn out. While we were checking in RJ was very helpful with walking a through the local maps, but had to be prompted to give us out room keys. Checking out it seemed as if the woman at the front desk was going through a route script of phrases rather than being genuinely hospitable. Also, the term "ocean view" for the room we booked may be a bit of an overstatement. Yes, you could see the ocean from across Pacific Coast Drive when you stood up on the private balacony, but that was about it. Not a big deal, but I guess we expected more of a view given that the name was labeled as ocean view.
Very affordable for Laguna Beach. Customer service excellent. The location is great, right across the street from beach. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Continental Breakfast from 7:30-10:30 (Cereal, pastries, yogurt, coffee, juices). Room was clean. All in all, great place to stay. Definitely will again. Nothing I didn't like.
Very quaint. Great location but too much traffic noise. Didn't quiet down until mid nite. Way too much traffic noise.
The location was perfect, as we were in town for a wedding that was down the street. Decent continental breakfast and coffee. The staff were incredibly rude: chatting on the phone without an indication they would help us, no flexibility for an early check-in despite having vacancy (we had a wedding to get to that afternoon), little interest in making accommodations (seemed annoyed when we asked for suggestions on what to do with our hour before check-in). One of the staff members indicated that it was a crazy day, and unfortunately, we were there to be the recipient of her poor customer service
