Reception floor was very nice with friendly staff. Pool area was even better than expected. Breakfast was excellent, so were bars and restaurants, too. Our room at 9th floor was slightly worn-out and not as clean as what we would have hoped for. Air-conditioning controls were not working properly (AC quite ok, though). The paintings and sculptures found in our room were a bit questionable, we'd find it better to put effort on some more relevant things. The staff at spa/gym a bit on the arrogant side, be sure to wear tennis shoes for gym..!
the friendliness of the staff which is not unusual for Mexico.the location of the hotel which was out of Punta Cancun. the quality of the overall hotel-construction is very poor. The specific Americans who were shouting so loud at 3-5am almost every night. The smell in the bathroom (moisture)
The rooms are very nice ............new modern. The staff were not at all helpfull.................very expensive and not at all good value.
Everything except weather... no
Very clean. High standard hotel. All the extras are expensive. People there try to be definitly too cool just to show their money.
Can't say enough good things about our stay at Hyatt Zilara. From the moment we stepped foot from our airport transfer, every single staff member that we interacted with throughout our stay was completely warm, courteous helpful, and just extremely nice. I concluded that the reason the property is prettier than neighboring resorts has to be due to the fact that there was always a small number of staff maintaining a meticulous level of cleanliness and presentation. The open air concept of the hotel is neat and helps to provide that tropical feel. As an all inclusive, adults only resort, food and drinks were also amazing...not to mention that they have all of the popular premium liquors (Grey Goose, Capt Morgan, Crown Royal etc). Finally, it's even prettier than the photos that you'll find on the web!
Beautiful poolside view of the beach Comfortable room with amazing view of pool and beach Friendly staff! Great food if you are a seafood lover. If not, you may not like the other options available. Spice needs to add tostadas to their breakfast menu!
Needs longer night entertainment hours.
The staff was amazing, very welcoming and surprised us with cute things sent to the room to celebrate a birthday. Very impressed with the cleanliness and amenities of this hotel. Food at the pelicanos could be better, very fried and bar like good options. Would like to see a smoothie bar or fresh juice area.
Best on the strip
the massages at the spa were incredible!!
Fantastic amenities and an incredibly welcoming staff. Meals were outstanding and each request was handled promptly and expeditiously. I would highly recommend this Hyatt!! The adult only aspect sets it apart and it makes it a more serene and relaxing environment for single or adults wanting to unwind and relax.
Nice food and stuff. Room with two separate beds. Uncomfortable
Awesome service! Very clean beach! Super good food! Great rooms! Loved the "adult only" part! Overall perfect vacation!! There is nothing we didn't like!
We liked a good food and service was excellent There was no night bar and nothing to do after 9pm. A small selection of restaurants for dinner
Exceptionally friendly service that was readily accessible for both english and spanish speakers. Nice variety of food. Facilities and grounds were well maintained. Very clean rooms with potable water in the room. Very large beach with a bar on the beach. Sea turtles laid eggs on the beach during our stay and we were able to release baby sea turtles into the ocean on one of the nights. Would definitely stay hear again in the future.
Food was great as well as location. Great services throughout hotel. The beds were not very comfortable
Hotel staff were top notch. Bartending staff, especially Armando, Rudulfo & Carlos were great and really made our stay exceptional. All inclusive drink quality was better than expected and includes decent brands like Cabo, Hornitos, Barcardi, Jack, etc. By the second day, our drinks were made without having to ask as they remember your name and what you like to drink. Also appreciated that the lobby bar stays open til 1am, The Michael Jackson show that was preformed was better than the Cirque du Soleil M.J. tribute show that I saw back in the U.S. recently. Food was also fantastic. I especially enjoyed the Italian restaurant and the Ceviche bar out by the beach. Also enjoyed the poolside grilling that was done each day and the outdoor evening bar-b-que dinner served poolside. Pool itself was visually stunning with lots of tropical trees and plants. Pool bars were great to hang out at throughout the whole day. In my opinion, the rooms were clean, comfortable and seemed to have all you really needed. Ours was on first level with great view of pool and large lanai. I would without a doubt return to this property even over the other higher end property that I stayed at during the same trip to Cancun (Hyatt Zilara). Thank you Fiesta Americana Condesa and hope see you again next year. I understand this is a family hotel, but kids should not be allowed to sit up at the bars. Several times, I saw children sometimes with and without their parents drinking non alcoholic drinks up at the pool/beach bars. Why some parents think this is ok, is beyond me. When I have my kid with me, I never allow him to sit at the bar.
It was ok. Nothing special. It was too expensive for the value. Staffs were helpful. Old resort. Rooms were cold even I took one of the best ocean front room. The Lock didn't work. Door got stuck several times. To me it doesn't worth the money we spent
Nice pool and bars. Comfort rooms. Close to the beach. Staff always wabt tips. Rooms are not clean. Nothing to do inthe evening. Not putting enough alocohol on the drinks. Low variaty of food.
We stayed last year and came back for more! The grounds are well maintained, the staff is friendly and willing to help. Are flight was cancelled and we were on hold with the airline for more than two hours. The concierge stayed with us the whole time and the hotel staff went out of there way to make sure we had accommodations for the night in the same room. We loved our poolside drink waiter who checked to make sure we had a full cocktail at all times. The poolside restaurant serves the best fish taco's and the overall food was wonderful. We didn't have a bad meal. We love the size of this property, not to big but just enough to keep you entertained. We will definitely be back next year.
The staff was very friendly. Besides their timeshare sales shpiel, they didn't try to up sell us or push us into any additional purchases. The restaurants on the property were really good; much better than other all inclusives we are familiar with. Even though we were in an upgraded room, the new fixtures were already coming off of the walls. Some of the outlets weren't connected to anything. Also, there were millions of ants. They sprayed on our balcony and in the room while we were there. My husband and I were eaten up.
Great service, best I've ever had I'm in a clinic now with all the typical symptoms of "Mexico", but unless it's from unknown bugs in the room then it's not their fault anyway
Food was awesome Time share salesman are annoying
The hosted Víctor, he was very agressive whit us abouth the hotel rewards program
The most friendliest and helpful staff I've ever experienced. They definitely go the extra mile with a smile. The food was a disappointment, and the alcohol was not the best. Maybe having more of a variety and top shelf . You could offer an all inclusive upgrade to offer better selections. the all inclusive upgrade would require a different color band and pay extra.
By beach, free drinks Staff was rude. Rooms and restaurants were warm and muggy. Customer service was poor.
I liked the building. It is beautiful. The beach front pool and restaurants are great with life music. It is a clean place. If you like to take photos, this place lends for great backgrounds The worst part... the only time i used my debit card was in the lobby ATM.. When I returned from my trip, charges starting appearing from Mexico, Dubai, and other countries! My bank is great so I'm not even concerned, other then I am without a debit card for one week. By the way.. $2k in charges, yes, they went all out. Glad they will get nothing because I caught it early (not the hotel, but whoever stole my number from the ATM) I paid the hotel of course. I don't like my room cleaned while I'm there so I placed the Do Not Disturb sign. Guess! Yes, they walked in on my fiancee, and another day they walked in and did the bed. By the way, they went through out things. How do I know, If you travel much, you know where your things are. Nothing taken except my privacy and well my money from the ATM. The cleaning staff is grumpy but the behind the counter staff is a lot friendlier. The only reason I stayed is because I was going to leave the first day I got there and search for another hotel, but they game bigger room. And by bigger, I mean a regular size hotel room with only two towels and a floor mat. Wait, two towels? lol All I can do is laugh and now I know to just go for a big chain hotel like I usually do and skip the romanticism. I will make up for the romance with dinners and shows. Thank you for reading. Good Luck
Staff is friendly enough, not overly friendly but not rude either. Lots of Europeans, which is fun. Food is decent. For the price is was worth it. LOVE dining on the beach every night by candle light. Get the all inclusive package! If not they will nickel and dime you for everything including a glass of water. I would go back but only as an all inclusive. Alot of smokers.... And they didn't use an ashtray but not the resort's fault.
The beachfront location The food was horrible. Wasn't worth it with all inclusive
Location First room they gave us was an old room, with rusted lamp shades, cloth shower curtain with mold, hard dryer plug fused and melted to the outlet (when I confronted the front desk about this she told me "did you call maintenance?"... for what? so they can rewire the entire room??), we arrive and there was a plate of discarded food on the building steps, when I told the front desk she told me that it was room service... 20 hours later the plate was still there. After the first night thy switched us to one of the new rooms, still had an ancient mattress, and the pipes smelled like sewers when you flushed. NEVER AGAIN.
This hotel its truly amazing! The stuff so helpful, the room are breath taking. Had a huge suite with a huge open balcony with sea view!!! The deinks r just ok nothing special but the food was delicious
The location was excellent. You can easily walk to several shopping centers nearby (or take the city bus, which stops just outside of the hotel). The staff was always courteous and helpful. The view from my room was beautiful and there was live music at the beachfront restaurant every night. I sat on my balcony and relaxed while listening to the music each night. I highly recommend NYX! There was no hot water for the shower or sink. This led to some very chilly showers on the days I had to wake up at 4 a.m. or 5 a.m. This didn't bother me, but I was on the 6th floor and there's no elevator so be prepared to potentially get a workout.
The location is good; a short walk to the luxury shopping at La Isla Mall. Upon checkin, we were surprised with an upcharge of $52 for an additional guest. I had booked two rooms for a total of three people for $368 for one night. The website stated that the rooms were two person occupancy. When I explained to the staff that we were only going to be there for a few hours as we had a 4:00 a.m. departure, the staff was unwilling to make any concessions. When I arrived, there was no concierge at the taxi driveway. I lugged four bags up a flight of stairs in hot sticky late afternoon weather. Upon entering the lobby, the staff ignored us and made no effort to hold open a door or assist with luggage. The room was moldy, dingy and poorly lit with fluorescent lighting. The pillows were thin and inadequate for a room at this price point; there was a top sheet, but no blanket or any sort of comforter. Just a sheet. The pool, and surprisingly, even the hot tubs, were full of young and loud children. The water in the shower never reached above a slightly warm temperature. There was no lock provided for the old-style room safe in the room. The wifi did not work in the room at all. The concrete construction of the room made it impossible to get ANY cellular service in the room. After having dinner, we returned to the room at 11:00 p.m. and there was a live band performing in the pool bar no less than 15 feet from our room. There were no visible patrons, only a band and a couple of bartenders. Upon checkout (at 4 a.m.) there was no staff to assist with luggage, so I, once again, schlepped the bags down a long staircase to the taxi staging area. A security guard was roused from sleep and kindly called a cab for us. This hotel is an example of why I no longer stay in Cancun; the towns further south are much more calm and relaxing. I am typically a very positive reviewer, but this hotel is substandard and the staff does not seem to care. Stay elsewhere if you can; NYX it off of your list of prospective hotel accommodation providers.
Hotel seems very nice at first glance. Modern lobby, two swiming pools, waterfront to the warm Caribbean, However... The hotel stinks, a mixture of mildew a specific cleaning agent and sewage. The room was too cold and it was impossible to adjust the temperature (two nights and two lobby phone calls). I know it sounds capricious but something is broken in this hotel. I suggest finding something in isla mojeres straight from airport if everything is booked and this is a last option.
Complimentary wi-fi. Centrally located--within walking distance to restaurants/shopping. A bus stop right outside the hotel takes you to downtown in under 10 minutes. Beach front. Friendly staff. Modern rooms. Good breakfast. Construction is going on next door and they work well past midnight--can hear the use of heavy machinery in one of the two rooms I booked. Sheets had stains. Both rooms had a strong odor coming from the drain in the shower. The bar, restaurants, and room service only accept credit/debit as a form of payment, You can hear everything in the hallway from the room.
Malls within resonable walking distance in both directions. The basic room in which we stayed desperately needs a renovation. The room didn't have a working safe, as the lock was broken, and the fridge didn't cool either.
We were promptly checked in at our 6pm arrival. The room we were assigned had wet tile floors, the smell of mold and visible mold stains on the bathroom walls. We were given a different room that was bigger in a better location. Unfortunately, this room had worse mold than the first room. The climate control intake was full of dust and dirt and was well beyond needing maintenance. Staff was efficient and friendly at the included breakfast.
The hotel is right on the really beautiful beach and they have two pools. Great for a cheap getaway The room had no real view and it was tucked in there. I choose the cheap room, and that's what you get, but the hotel is nice. For my girlfriend and I it was great because we just used the room to sleep in and spent the most of the day outside in the hotel facilities. If you need a nice room upgrade. If you just need a room that let's you have access to one of the best beaches in the world book the cheap one. The bed was not a queen and the pillows kind of sucked. There was competition for the beach chairs which I always think is funny but besides that it was nice.
The facility was excellent and the location and amenities were first rate. This is an older hotel that has been completely remodeled and unfortunately the staff and pricing have not been. See below. I booked a Regency Club level room expecting something for my money. I got nothing. Everything at the hotel is charged for and I felt like an Economy class passenger paying luxury, first class prices. I was charged for everything from Internet to towels at the pool. This was a horrible, second class service from a first class (supposedly) hotel. I will never again stay at any Hyatt and I am a very, very frequent flyer and traveler.
Rooms are very tiny, sink was clogged, view is not that good, they charge for everything.
The location on the beach, the view of the Gulf, the staff and resort facilities made the week's vacation/business trip memorable. It was all most enjoyable and relaxing.
The location is very good.near to the center, restaurants, discos.also the ocean view rooms worth to be reserved only for the excelent view that u can have.the beacj is nice, clear water, and quiet.nice pool and poolrestaurant also. Very ineficient stuff to the front desk,i had to change 3 times the room till I had to pay extra for a ocean view room cause the most of the standard rooms are on the front of the hotel and they are very noisy(to close to the air conditioning big,big machine).to much umidity and shits smell
The place was amazing. Everyone was there to help you and please you. We had troubles with rooming situation and Irvin helped us out so much. He was able to fix our situation and be super friendly about it the whole time. We went over spring break weekend, but the hotel was pretty good about quieting people down during the night so we got a great nights sleep each night! The hotel itself is amazing. It has a great beach, staff, pool, super clean, food, and drinks. I was there for six days and had a blast the entire time!
Beach was gorgeous. The staff very knowledgeable and friendly. The Grill Restaurant was very good and a good value as well.
The beach The wait time in the reception ... And you can feel the sun inside of the lobby
The resort was very average. The location was amazing. It is on a clean part of the beach. They provide cabanas on the beach. And when you leave the resort you are a very quick walk to all the bars and restaurants. We traveled with a wedding party and were able to see the resort where our friends stayed. Although this resort was average in appearance, it was WAY over priced (compared to where our friends stayed and what they paid). The all inclusive is NOT included if you book through a third party (kayak, orbitz, expedia). When we got to the hotel is was $240 additional per person even though the hotel is advertised as an all inclusive on Kayak. Our view was of the loud banging construction that woke us up at 5am each day. When I called to see if we could move rooms, I was told we could get some ear plugs. The construction was loud and early! There is no hot tub at all. The resort is very small. Also, the house keeping staff skipped our room one day, on another day they charged us $100 for spilling a cocktail on the comforter.
The view fofrm the hotel is excellent, apart from construction work going on at the beach which I assume is temporary This hotel is a 3* hotel maximum that is sold as a cheap 5* hotel. It has small rooms and bathrooms (building from the 70-s), very low ceilings, unpleasant smell from the bathroom and from the airconditioning, holes in linen. The baby cot that was given to us looked as if it was eaten by dogs - terrible. If you expect Hayatt 5* luxury - do not stay here.
A clean, safe place with friendly and helpful personnel . Good location. Easy access to the beach nightlife.
The pool area was amazing with lounge chairs built into the pool so laying on one , the water just covered my body---nice Open air clubs full of partners and loud thumping music could be heard in the room at night
The location was very convenient! 5 minute walk to a market and the clubs and restaurants are just steps away! We paid for an ocean view room and we got something in the 1st floor and when you look out your window all you see are cabanas and people. Luckily we brought it up to their attention and they gave us something better BUT not until the next day. In my opinion, the rooms on the bottom floor, although technically facing the ocean, shouldnt be given to guest as "oceanview" seeing as you CANT see the ocean.
We loved the beach of the Krystal. The beach front view was absolutely amazing. Each afternoon my friend and myself would lay out on the beach, and every day there were men with delicious coconut drinks who would sell them to us for very good prices. We definitely enjoyed that. The pools were also beautifully designed and were perfect with the beach front view. We didn't like the staff who were extremely rude on the phone and claimed that my friend and myself were liars. They called the room claiming that me and my friend were random girls that our friends had snuck into their room, when in reality we are all friends and had planned the trip together. They did not need to threaten to kick us out. My friend and myself had wrist bands to be at the resort. That was completely uncalled for.
The view was AMAZING!! the staff was very pleasant as well and had no issues when requesting a different room. The noise due to the club next door, but I did visit during spring break so it might be louder then.
Right on beach! Very very old dated room! I should have know while standing at the desk listening to all the complaints of other guests that this was a poor place to stay!
Nothing a real dump Everything. Explode this dump ASAP
The staff at the Krystal Cancun were fantastic. Very friendly, and helpful, willing to give advice on good local (not touristy) places to eat and visit. Great, easy self parking. The room we had was right on the beach, with a fantastic view of the ocean. The music at the bar was fantastic. Salsa, cha cha cha, boogaloo. Great bar service and good drinks. Awesome location in the hotel zone. The beach was clean and beautiful, located in a very calm water area. We enjoyed a perfect first night in Cancun at this hotel. Our room was great, first floor, right on the beach. This posed a problem later on in the evening. There was a wedding right outside of our room on the beach, and the music from the reception was quite loud into the evening. We didn't mind this too much as we were very exhausted from traveling that evening and were able to fall asleep quickly, but for some, this may be a pain point. The bed in our room was also quite uncomfortable. Very firm, sort of like sleeping on a box spring only. The hot tub was being repaired and was not working when we arrived in the evening. The staff runs really slow with the check in/check out process. Be prepared to wait a while when you are arriving and leaving the hotel. There is only one main entrance to the hotel, so we had to walk quite a ways from where we parked our car to our room inside the hotel. We really didn't mind this, but again, it may be a pain point for some, that no one offered to help us with our bags. The pool area closed around 10:00 at night, but you can walk up and down the beach in the evenings. The bathroom in our room was dark, damp, and there was mold growing in corners in the shower. It was in much need of a thorough cleaning. Overall we had a good first night in Cancun at this hotel. Its location on the beach made up for our dislikes.
Noise from clubs
Shower is not working. Mirror is dirty, tissue holder has rust and not safe if it cut off your skin, resort must also work on its furnitures because the location is great but furnitures are old. Hallway must have carpet so whenever other guests are asleep it wouldn't bother them when someone is walking from the hallway especially kids who is running and playing around.
The beachfront was beautiful. Housekeeping personnel was hard working and kind. Had to change room because of wifi issue. No help given. Showe was broken. Walls very thin.
Location, Location, Location! Loved the waterfront, the view, the service. Hugo, our bartender was friendly & made the tastiest mojito! I would recommend Krystal to fam & friends. Thumbs up!!!!
The staff was good the lady manager Ava was very good too They need to include the Internet
The food was excellent. My favorite part was the pool and the swim up bar. They have water volleyball and water basketball. There is always some sort of game going on at the pool area. The staff was wonderful. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day. Easy bus ride to the night clubs for 50 cents. All in all I felt that this was the perfect resort for a group of friends (we are in our mid 20s), couples, or families. The buffet could have more variety each day.
The beach, the pool, the breakfast and dinner buffet. (The food was well above average and quite good at times). Great poolside drink service from Roberto, our waiter on more than one day. Our beach front room was a bit bare (furniture wise) but it was clean and roomy. Cleaning staff did a great job. Bus stop right out front will get you to center of nightlife (about a five minute ride) for under a dollar. It's location away from the center made the beach that much better and less crowded. We had a great stay. Time share push after check in. Just insist that you want to go right up to your room and dodge this (they were not aggressive when we did this).
Best Time EVER :) Where to start everything was perfect as soon that we walk in, everyone is super nice and friendly. Rooms where clean and our View priceless, The food was great no one got sick. They had activity everyday at the lobby and the pool activity where so much sun. A SPECIAL thanks to Enrique Felipe and Colorado they would go out of there way to make us feel like home. Also the Bar Tenders where so friendly and they made us a super yummy Sapitos shoots and drinks. We are definitely returning to Royal Solaries . :) out next stay to Royal Solaris will be in Cabo San Lucas,
First the food was excellent the service was extraordinary as they great you since you enter the hotel, staff was amazing and the pools and kids club was awesome! Super safe for family with children. Bartenders are knowledgable of drinks and very friendly.. The reataurant was very delicious with the 5 course meals. We felt right at home!! I would definitely stay At The Grand Solaris! Thumbs up for food ,cleanliness, staff, and overall the atmosphere was great oh and to add the shows were wonderful!! I miss being there my kids loved it!!! If you want to have a great and relaxing time, to make wonderful memories and enjoy the beautiful beaches and views go to The Grans Solaris! We truly had la passion del Solaris!!(: The only thing was they need to add toilet covers around the resorts restrooms, pillows a bit hard.
Easy. Everything was close together. Staff was nice. The facilities are dated. Towels were a dingy brown green color. Restaurants were never consistently open. People come to Mexico for Mexican food and the Mexican restaurant was closed most days we were there.
Royal Solaris is a fairly inexpensive all inclusive with decent sea views. Multiple choices in places to eat. Some of the wait staff actually made an effort to make our honeymoon enjoyable. A waiter by the name of Mibsam was the friendliest individual on staff by far. The members working the front desk were always very helpful as well. I've stayed at two other resorts in Cancun and a third in Cozumel. All of which were competively priced with this one and offered equivalent all inclusive packages. All had nicer rooms, higher quality finishes to give a luxury feel, and professional staff. 1. The Rooms The first room my wife and I experienced was less than ideal. The ceiling was so short we both could reach up and touch the ceiling. All bathrooms lacked ventilation so mold and paint bubbling should be expected. The first room's bathroom had a curious layout with lights hanging out of the socket. It was fixed shortly thereafter, but if I had kids I would not have accepted the room. Exposed electrical surfaces in a wet space with no ventilation is a disaster waiting to happen. We payed to upgrade our room to the jacuzzi room which looked much more like a normal hotel room. The bathroom still didn't have any ventilation. in addition, the tile work wasn't very impressive. The finishes looked very sloppy and didn't seem to have a luxury feel. Get what you pay for... 2. Staff aforementioned are the staff that were very helpful and good at their jobs. What I was concerned about is that very few people were concerned about making our honeymoon special. Bartenders were always very nice, maybe a little too nice.. There were numerous spring breakers and Its always okay to let lose. There needs to be more discretion as to when to cut somebody off. Every day there was someone being wheelchaired out. Alcohol poisoning got pretty serious for some of these guys and could have easily been taken care of. ive spent spring break with my buddies before down in a different resort and not only were the rooms and facilities much nicer, the staff were willing to look out for you and help you out.... They were so far gone they couldn't tell the difference between water and tequila. much of the staff seemed to be more concerned about helping/ serving the spring breakers over the families. numerous families found it difficult to sleep at night with spring breakers coming around at night being extremely boisterous. I woke up every night from the noise. Solution that other resorts use... Escort them back to their rooms. 3. Restuarants Always had decent food. Also had plenty of seating with nice views of the sea. However, half the time the waiter would forget our drinks or take a long time to get our drinks. One day I finished my entire meal before getting our drinks. in this case it really depends on your waiter. There are some really good ones and some that don't seem to care.
The staff was excellent! They were all very professional, kind, and courteous. Our room was very clean, the food was tasty. I hated the fact that Internet was $17 U.S. Dollars for 24 hours! It was supposed to be free! Everyone everywhere wanted/asked for tips.
I could hear everything going on in the next room. The rooms smelled very strong perfume odor. The woman at the front desk was rude. Not the best customer service but, ok for the price.
The hotel staff were the best of numerous resorts we have stayed at. Very helpful, pleasant and professional. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The beach was clean and well groomed. The pools were beautiful. The best lunch was the pizza oven, serving up made to order pizzas! It is a bit dated in the lobby. The food is what I would consider average. If I book another all-inclusive in Cancun , I would look elsewhere because of the food. We usually go for more than a week and I don't think we would enjoy the dining experience here for that long.
Food, spa and pool
Pool snacks were very good, they also have some activities which are quite fun (pool foam party for example). Zen restaurant (Japanese/Asian) was very good, plus the service was always great. In general terms it is a good hotel but expensive for what they actually offer, I wouldn't recommend it unless it was cheaper (for the same money you can go somewhere way better). The things I did´t like: - Hard Rock Hotels are no the same everywhere, we stayed at Panama Megapolis last year and was nicer, it had better rooms, facilities (eg: under water speaker in the pool) and service. - They host Weddings so you need to consider that large groups may be staying as well. In our case, the group staying was definitely NOT what I expected, besides being way too loud and quite drunk, they where rude, just consider that on the Wedding night some of the girls almost got into a fight with local hookers who where in the lobby bar (smash bar), after this, bar tenders kept on giving them alcohol which I think is unacceptable (toilets even ended up puked) (you need to consider that there were families with kids when this happened, plus, what are hookers doing in the lobby in the first place??).... Ok, we all wanna have fun, drink and laugh, but this isn't "college spring break"!! - Jetted pool is for "VIPs" only and not available for regular guests in the main pool area (the thing is that "VIPs" didn't use it much, so usually was available but "unreachable"). - It is a loud hotel, one night the Karaoke (held just by the pool) was on up until 2 am (my wife says it was until 4, but I fell asleep before she did xD). - In some places the service was not good, one night at smash bar it took me 15 minutes to get a dink (bar tenders where only looking for tips), next day I went down with all my 1 dollar bills and everything changed!!
This all inclusive hotel offers everything. From your type of pillow you want to sleep on, if you want aromatherapy in the room, 4 types of liquor and mixers in room, to several dining options available on site. You literally never have to leave the resort unless you want to explore. I thought that with unlimited alcohol included that it would be crawling with drunk people, but everyone was the right type of pleasantly buzzed or totally sober. No puking anywhere that I saw. The staff had exceptional service that I have not found anywhere else. While you don't have to leave the hotel if you don't want to, there are lots of tours and excursions that you probably should look into if you have never visited the area before, and I definitely recommend a night out to It can be loud, and if you like your sleep, I recommend a room with the lagoon view for a quieter atmosphere. It can be loud, and if you like your sleep, I recommend a room with the lagoon view for a quieter atmosphere.
Friendly stay all inclusive w 24 hour room service The fact that we were told ocean view but not guaranteed ... the extra 30% charged for services with resort points
All inclusive, good variety of food. Best choice for families with kids. On the right side of hotel is very noisy electricity station. No minibar in the rooms
Only the beach the rooms are not clean, the kids club is from 18 months and they did not mention that on the website or on the phone, the food is served mostly cold because of the big amounts of the client the only good food was at the morning in the buffet, the sushi was terrible the fish looked really old, the swimming pools were looking really dirty especially the pool bar swimming pool, we had had an upgrade to the suite but the suite wasn't clean the bathroom was really dirty the shower was full with blue mold
It's a great all inclusive resort for the whole family, they have activities for everyone. The food is far from great, in all the restaurants is like generic and standard, and the Japanese restaurant is the worst i've ever had.
I particularly appreciated the excellent English of the front desk staff. Internet should be free.
The concierge was very helpful with providing information for our visit and the staff service was excellent.
Good food affordable price portions are enough to share. Rooms very clean and spaces ocean view is great. We will be back to this hotel. Wifi is not free.
They upgraded us to an Ambassador suite. Best sleep of our entire vacation. Loved the beach and the pool. We reveled in the torrential thunder and lightning while enjoying our rack of lamb, pizza and martinis at the BBQ restaurant under the palapa. Service was great too. Nice view from both balconies in our room.
breakfast was worth the money. dinner was a bit pricey for Mexico, but good. Location was excellent. receptionist was a bit slow. Wave was a bit rough to enjoy the warm water.
We went to cancun for a wedding that was being held at another resort, but we couldn't stay for their 3 day minimum, so we decided to stay at the Westin, and couldn't have been happier! First, we got a great deal on kayak on a non-all inclusive package (because we were going to attend events at the wedding and some of our meals were covered). That being said, the food we did pay for was not all that outrages (ranging from $15-$30/meal per person). In addition, they had a few really great buffets that were around $25/person, and well worth it. Having attended a wedding at a more luxurious resort, we also had the opportunity to compare the two. (One of the wedding guests got food poisoning at the other resort, so we were glad that we didn't stay there). Also, the beach at the Westin was prettier and cleaner! They also had two additional pools, and plenty of rooms to stretch out. In addition, you can book all of your tours from the resort (we did parasailing), but you could do much more! The gym was adequate as well--there were 5 treadmills, a few ellipticals, some exercise bikes, and some weights) There was internet in the lobby that was free, but in order for you to get internet in your rooms there was a charge for $25. The gift shop was really expensive.
Cancun is beautiful and the resort is on a great stretch of beach. Pools, facilities, fitness center were very nice. The concierge was great and gave us a perfect restaurant recommendation off property. Bell staff was very good. The food and drink service was awful!!! We were completely ignored at times and had orders for food and beverage completely forgotten. 8 of us sat one evening at the Mexican restaurant on campus for 30 min before we even were given menus, and when they finally delivered them, we were given 4 menus. We laughed as it was just so indicative of the 5 days. The fact that the place is really semi all inclusive seems very petty (some menu items and drinks are extra) Felt as if we were nickled and dimed for everything. First all inclusive we swore we'd not come back to. Very disappointing. Pretty place, hope you're not hungry or thirsty
The beach The buffet The public areas Poor quality and cleanliness of room Construction across the hall which started at 9am and filled the hallway with dust.
very close to the airport one of the 1st stops from the airport It is really far from the party zone, had to pay $20 taxi each trip from the hotel to the party zone.
If you aren't into the party scene, this hotel is located well away from the main "strip" in Cancun. The food is excellent and the menus offer multiple healthy options. The hotel is also very environmentally friendly. Staff is the friendliest we've encountered. They all work very hard but still take the time to be pleasant. A little inconsistent about which restaurants will be open on any given night
The resort is beautiful, the staff is fantastic, especially Hector at the front desk, the room is comfortable, AC is great! Gorgeous beach view! Nothing
I took my daughter to Cancun to celebrate her 18th birthday. We stayed at the Royal Beach Club with an ocean view room and balcony. We were given the requested upgrade free of charge. Extremely kind and helpful staff! Clean, simple rooms Comfy beds Gorgeous ocean view from our room. Right next to the hotel is some of the best snorkeling in the area. You can rent gear, or buy it from WalMart for the same price and go on your own. David, who waited on us down by the beach heard it was my daughter's birthday and surprised us on the beach with a cake! Quiet, away from tourist madness. Nothing fun to do around the hotel after sunset. Charge for wifi (lobby it is free) Pool closed at 8p.m. No hot tub. No heated pool so no one swims after sunset. Brrrr! No free transportation provided by hotel. Breakfast buffet at Royal Beach Club was very expensive.
Location wasn't bad, well within walking distance to the action Bugs in the room staff was unwilling to help Bar in lobby wasn't open Not much of a selection in food menu No action at the pool Disappointed in amenities
Could be a diamond resort None
location, service, facilities water was too cold when took shower!
I booked an oceanview but a big palm tree was in my way. I could touch the palm tree so there was no way on earth I could have ever saw the ocean. I stayed in room 201.
Beachfront, room,, location, service. Miguel was the best.
The deals said "FREE Sunset Cruise and Matis Jewelry Gift", but the hotel had no clue about the Cruise or the Jewelry Gift. So, it is a rip-off when you provide a hotel but they have no clue on the deals. It hurts feeling when you expect a Sunset cruise and your wife expects a jewelry gift and the hotel had no clue. I was getting similar hotels for $85 to $95 per day. So, I could have saved $150 to $175 if I would have booked another hotel. Are you going to refund me the money ? Can you return me my vacation time in Cancun? Can you not avoid give the false promise to next customers? The hotel staff marked myself to "No show" list for Chichen Itza tour when my name was there on their list and I specifically mentioned them that I am waiting in the lobby from 7 am (next to the guy Victor) when the pickup was at 7:30 am. The staff was more focused on selling me their tour deals rather helping me catching my bus. This was the worst experience in my life. I have travelled to multiple countries and travel every year at least 3-4 times, but never had such horrible hotel experience. Sad wife after a vacation is the last thing you can expect. Missing a tour bus when you are waiting for it 30 minute before their arrival due to hotel stuff inefficiency is horrible.
Got a partial ocean view and had view of side hotel and wall
The service and assistance at the front desk and the concierge were excellent - responsive, well-informed and courteous. Kitchen facilities in the room made it easy and convenient for us. It is a beautiful hotel! Some deferred maintenance of bathroom fixtures detracted a little from the otherwise perfect room.
I had a great room at a great price. It was in walking distance from most of the attractions. I would certainly visit again
The hotel is suppossed to ve o e of the best in Cancun, but it is a great disapointment
Attentive Staff, Always willing to take in special requests to make trip more enjoyable, beautiful property, the weather is PERFECT in January. Never seemed overly crowded, even with the weekend group there Our airline cancelled our flight and we missed the first day of our trip. We called immediately after finding out but the hotel would not refund our money for that first day, even with proof of the cancellation of our flight. We had to eat that cost.
A great place, I met my kids there for some relaxing togetherness! The staff is friendly, helpful without being pushy. The place is clean, beautiful and laid back. People from all over the world to meet and enough food variety to keep you from getting bored. This visit it wasn't too crowded but I've been there in the past where you have to stalk out your place at the pool. We went because we love the place and got a great deal through Kayak I couldn't afford it at regular price. I would love to get notification that Live Aqua wasn't crowded and had a deal going on - I'd be there again in a minute.
Everything was excellent and the staff was excellent as well
Nice grounds, although it looks likes its getting a little older. Staff was great, every single one of them Spa was great. The food was bad. I kept on trying to give this place 2nd and 3rd chances to see if they had anything good. But I was constantly disappointed. It was edible, but far from good. The nail in the coffin is when we got a taco from the airport and it was better than all the food we had at this hotel. Room felt a little dirty, shower leaked, shower glass door had someone's name scratched into it.
The pools are amazing, the grounds well kept and the staff are all friendly. The aromatherapy is too strong in some places. Painting going on in the main lobby the day we left - left me with a BIG headache. We had to check out of our room at noon. Planned to grab a quick lunch before leaving but nothing available between 12-1 except room service and a couple of places outside in the 100+ temps.
The perfect hotel - paradise. Hotel guests start "reserving" lounge chairs by the pool around 7am by leaving towels there; then they don't come back til much later. This is to be expected I guess, not an issue with the hotel itself. Just good to be aware of before you go.
Common areas, beach, friendliness of the staff, the room view, close to La Isla shopping mall -
The hotel is older and I believe one of the first hotels built in the area, but it is still a beautiful hotel. The room I stayed in was wonderful - travertine stone on the floors and in the bathroom. Loved the shower. The colors were earth tones, which have always been my favorites, and the bed was very comfortable. Everyone I encountered as far as staff were friendly and very efficient. I asked for more towels before leaving for a meeting one day and upon my return several fresh clean ones had been put in my room. The price was also very reasonable. Overall I would rate my experience and the hotel a 9.5. The only suggestion I would have would be for the owners. They should put a new coat of paint on the outside of the building, which would be one of the least expensive things they could do, and it would brighten everything up. I believe they had recently done so to the interiors. It's not a party hotel, and there are many of those in Cancun that have hip hop or house music banging all day and night. It's a place you can go and have a very relaxing time. Most of the guests were Mexican nationals, many with their families. I had a very nice time and would recommend the hotel to anyone.
The staff was very helpful, even though I had problems expressing what I wanted. Must have been a leak in the shower above my floor, because the ceiling caved in on the last day there...
Security would randomly ask you what your room number was as If you couldnt be staying there, as If we were intruders, they only kept asking us as if we were lying; honestly I felt like it was because we were black. And because of that I would never stay there again. The food wasnt that good as well.
The beach front The good was terrible. They gave me the wrong room. They tried to fix it but wasn't what I paid for. I will not ever stay there again. And I will make sure to tell my friends as well about the experience. I paid a lot for a room that was overlooking a few buildings and a small sliver of ocean. Not what I paid for!!
newly remodeled but lack of detail finish.nice pool and beach lagoon side facing busy and noisy traffic and poor window noise abatement. When I requested to switch to ocean side,Ms.Fernades, front desk staff, showed no consideration to my issue and insisted a rate increase of 35% to switch. Why would I pay extra if I am already paying top dollar for this over rated hotel and extremely insensible to customer needs.
Waterfront well maintained hotel. Ocean view rooms are great Pool is really satisfying. Beach is clean Staff is really great No airport transfer was a disappointment, But i believe very limited hotels is providing that service in Cancun. It would be really nice to have it even with a fee...
the rooms had a crisp clean feel. the phone service was good and the beaches were clean when we arrived we were called by guest services to say they had a welcome basket. turned out to be a sales pitch.
Fantastic beach and pool area. This is one of the oldest hotels on the `Hotel Zone` strip and so has BY FAR the best position; some of the other newer hotels have very small beach areas and tiny pools. Intercontinental has two large pools, several bars/restaurants and masses of sunbathing/lounger space. Lobby is impressive. Next to golf course (although the course next to the Hilton about 1 mile away is better and half the price!) masses of free parking plus valet parking. Excellent value for money rooms via booking.com. Bed comfortable. The room we had (a cheap rate $105) needed updating as it hadn`t been refurbished since the hotle was built I should think! Tiny oldfashioned bathroom and strange stone/concrete floor in the bedroom. Aircon was of the older type although it worked fine.
Service was really good
overall ambiance, friendly staff, great location. None
I loved staying here. All the staff that worked there were so friendly and nice. They knew our name by the second night. We felt important. The rooms were always clean & housekeeping was always keeping the room looking good and even came back at night to make sure we needed anymore towels or glasses. The waitstaff & bell boys were amazing. Anything we needed they got us it was amazing. I've never stayed in a place that catered to all our wants and needs in a very professional manner.
The view and size of the room was very nice. The service. Also some policies were not shared with me that became an issue. Didn't feel the warm welcome and quality of service I felt at other places I have stayed in that area. Overall disappointed.
I got descriminated
Staff stood out the most as tolerant helpful and nice. Loads of food and drink. All was fine but if you want to be in heart of cancun hotel nightlife then you are 10 minute plus drive away. Food was fine but obviously if you are in a more luxurious place the cuisine is of a different caliber.
My sister and I travelled here. We had a great time!! Staff were nice, clean, and overall a great experience! 24 room service was a perk we really liked! And our room was ocean view, really nice. Good was decent. Wish they had more resturants to choose from
A variety of foods were offered. The Marco Polo restaurant was excellent. We loved our server Señor Felix (feliciano) who went above and beyond to provide us excellent meal experiences at Marco Polo!!! He was always attentive. The wifi service was poor. While other hotels picked up on the beach the wifi at this hotel didn't even pick up in the rooms. It was a bit pricey for very spotty service.
My favorite thing about this place was the staff. Everyone spoke English, even the room attendants, so communication was very easy. I did not encounter a single rude person. The wait staff rotated from restaurant to restaurant as the day progressed, so you really got to know the staff. The pools were great... one was really warm, one was just right, and of course the ocean was only a few steps away if you wanted to really cool off. The wait staff came down to the beach to take orders, too, which was probably the best part! The food was mostly good... lots of buffet fare, lots of selection. The reservations-only restaurant, Marco Polos, was very nice. The asian night was my favorite, the french night was not that great (except for the cheese). While there were always options for food, the windows for certain things to be open were relatively small. For example, if you wanted a sandwich, the place didn't open until 4:00.
Had a wonderful time at GR Solaris. There was always plenty to do, eat, and drink. The staff was wonderful! We were upgraded at check-in from a regular room to a beautiful Ocean-front with jacuzzi. I have no complaints about anything from the weekend! I would definitely go back!
Not great. Just ok. You won't get the best service or food, but you also won't get sick. Great views of the Caribbean from ocean front rooms.
Overall our experience at the GR Solaris Cancun was good. The food was good limited from a restaurant perspective. The entertainment was fun, but not great. From talking with others, you can tell the staff has done an amazing job of making this a place people want to come back to time and time again. The patrons and staff, young and old, were friendly and made for an overall enjoyable experience. The biggest issue this this hotel was the poor internet service. You pay $37USD per device for 3 days and we had issues staying connected to it anywhere but in the lobby. When we complained, the manager told us there wasn't anything they could do but complain to the company. The food options were extremely limited, but the food they had was ok. The minibar in the rooms was also very limited. There were just a few beers, a few sodas and 3-4 bottles of water. More options or bars that were open later would have been helpful. The location on the beach was also not as nice as other places I've been. The water was very rough and the beach wasn't as nice as other locations I've been to in Cancun.
Some of the staff and the location were good I wasn't expecting high quality food, having been to a number of all inclusive resorts in the past. However, a large percentage of the items served here were bad. I don't mean they were not prepared well, rather they were at very stages of spoiled. Worst was the breakfast meat served for room service, which reeked when sliced into and was many days expired. We quickly got in the habit of first taking a small sample before consuming anything. This combined with indifference by the staff, particularly at the front desk, should cause you pause if you are considering staying at this location. Also, do not believe that your package includes everything described. WiFi is not included, and ocean view may require you to stand on a chair to see over the wall. Kayak should drop this location or appropriately update the descriptions to reflect reality.
