Great lobby restaurant. Different twist on flavour with friendly staff
Location was great. When we arrived the room had an odour. The staff came and sprayed with air freshener. We were not offered another room. Later in our stay when we turned on the air conditioner in the corner of the unit on the smell of dog and urine wafted out. When I asked if pets had been housed in the room I was told pets were allowed in all the rooms. If you do not want a room used for pets this is not your choice
I loved the bed. It was super comfortable. Excellent hotel. Great price for what you get. Clean. Hardy breakfast.Good snack bag for later.
bed was comfortable The front desk staff was rude and very condisending, the staff at the morning buffet was also clearly not in a good mood and was very short with us when asked any questions over all I wouldn't return to this hotel due to my interactions with staff, which is a shame because it does have a good location
The location and helpfulness of staff will keep bringing us back to the Lord Elgin There is nothing to dislike. The hotel features first rate amenities within a fine old hotel that is maintained impeccably.
Nice enough, good location, valet staff friendly and organised. Shower was great. Entrance to drop off very crowded, Bar closed at 11.15 they had no coffee and wouldn't make any, just a very strange attitude at the bar the ambience is more "what are you doing here" than welcome We ordered a queen got a double bed.
I liked the Hotel, loved that there were glasses and not plastic cups in the room and bathroom
Glass of wine in the evening was nice. Lack of curtain or window screen. Only a blackout shade was available so either your window was open for two very close buildings to peer into or your room was dark. Also the hotel was a little worn and the carpet needed a shampoo.
Great location. Too much street noise. Shower curtain smelled.
Great location and parking Its a bit old now. Rooms are out dated and smell like grandmothers house. Bathroom from the 80's and water pressure like an asthmatic smoker blowing water at you through a straw. For $200 a night you expect more.
Les Suites is wonderful if you have young children. The bedroom suite allows you to put your children to bed and adults can continue to enjoy their evening. The fully equipped kitchen is fantastic, children can have their regular breakfast etc. which helps with routine. Very close to market, shopping and tourist attractions. This is our second stay at the hotel and have been very pleased both visits. Parking is a challenge. Very limited parking spots and if you drive a van or larger vehicle, may available spots are too small.
They had over booked, so we didn't get the premium sweet that we had paid for. They made an error when checking us in giving us a room that was already occupied, adding a good 30 minutes to our wait to get into a room. Usually you can chalk that up to a good story, but we had an ice cream cake that melted while we waited. We had hoped to use that time to decorate the room for a surprise party.
the underground parking was too low for us to use
Liked the spaciousness of the room. Found the beds, pillows and duvets very relaxing & comfortable. The cost of valet parking. Was not aware of the astronmical fee. If it was clearly indicated, we would have made alternative arrangements for parking.
