Hotel is located in center of town and is an oasis in the bustle of the activities taking place in the San Jose art district and in the zocolo outside the hotel's front door. Staff are exceptional; pool, restaurant & bar are perfect for small hotel. The less expensive room we got this year shared a balcony with adjacent room and with only a partial bamboo screen between the two, it was a bit uncomfortable for much use.
Quaint and quiet NothingIt was perfect
Everything No complaints
The location was excellent, you can walk right out to the main square and walk around to all the shops and restaurants! The hotel staff were all really friendly. it's a very cute boutique hotel, nice outdoor setting IE the pool, loungers and tables. We did not like our room. it really needs a good cleaning - the floors in particular and the grout in the shower is gross!! All of our window screens did not close properly thus the first night I was eaten alive by Mosquitos!!!!! AC did not work.
The room was wonderful, really a studio apartment without a kitchen. Queen bed, living room area, all tile bath with sunken shower, and garden patio overlooking the courtyard complete with string hammock and cafe table for two. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious and relatively reasonably priced. My wife also liked the new, since December 2011, jewelry store off the lobby, which she says has some very unique items.
Wifi Staff Parking AC food location The ad said that it included breakfast but it only included coffee and rolls. This was not clear.
I stayed at the Tropicana on 12/10/16 after a week long yoga retreat at another resort. I selected the Tropicana based on the proximity to local flavor and the reviews. The Tropicana did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a good value for the price. The hotel was also within walking distance to lots of restaurants and shopping. I also felt safew there as a single female traveler. NothInglewood.
This hotel is centrally located for walking around old Town San Jose del Cabo - filled with shops, galleries and restaurants. It has many different levels of rooms to suit your needs and is housed in two buildings. The room was very nice and very comfortable. It was quiet without any noise to disturb a good rest. No staff late at night. A group of travelers arrived after midnight and they could not get into their room. The plane was late and they had no options. They had to check into another hotel for the night. I tried to help them, but there was no one around and no one answered any numbers. No emergency numbers were given. What would happen if there was an emergency?
Service was excellent. Concierge is very helpful. Looks and feels like Mexican Disneyland.
Although clean and quiet its a 2 star at a 3 star price. Coffee only in the lobby of the suites across the street- but coffee pot and cups in the room. The coffee in the lobby only had powdered cream Not a big deal but a 2 star point of view. Also all our other hotels throughout Baja came with breakfast, theirs does not so take that into account if budgeting a trip. Clean and quiet.
Love the neighborhood even though it's under construction from the hurricane, it's quiet a charming place. We barely stayed in the hotel because we were constantly on the move. The staff was great, suggested places to eat that were either experience and inexpensive. Would definitely go back.
Good location. Downtown is walking distance. A/C worked well. TV had some English language channels. Friendly staff. I had to park on the street the first night. The 2nd night they let me park in the gated driveway. I could never get the wifi signal in my room to work, I had to go down to the restaurant lobby to get online. The blinds were not very dark so you wake up with the sun.
Close to arts district Blinds were poorly placed and let in a lot of daylight.
