Very accommodating service. The host and the staff are all friendly and happy to give customers necessary helps as possible. Convenient and inexpensive baggage store service, you can check out the lodge and go for trip with nothing, then on your way bakck, you just pick up your baggages at the cafe which is only 2 minutes walk from the Nikko Tobu station. I had a good time and I will consider to stay at this lodge again next time I go to Nikko. The location is a little bit farer away form the station than I though. It costs 700~800 Japanese yen to get to the lodge from Nikko station by Taxi. If you have heavy baggages or the it is raining or snowning, I suggest that you grab a taxi for access.
The Lodge was close enough to Nikko to hike, for us. All hotel personnel were friendly and accommodating. Not really anything to complain about.
If you want Japanese style rooms, then this is the one. Not the kind of normal hotels which you stayed before. Comes with onsens! Perfect. The food is great! Served in Japanese style. We like this place a lot. Thanks!
The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Although the hotel seems a little dated it is charming. I would stay there again and recommend to others
Mega convenient if using the train. Literally right across the street. The room itself was comfortable. Check in/check out was quick. Staff was OK but not overly friendly. Also when I asked if I could use their printer for a legal document that I needed to print and sign (and was willing to pay for this service) one of the front desk agents said they had no printer (!) Hard to believe that a hotel did not have a printer on hand. Walked across the street to the Tourist Info office in the train station where the gentleman bent over backwards to help me out. Bathroom had a urine-like odor
The hotel is very walkable to all of the transportation in/around Nikko. Hotel staff speak enough English to do what needs to be done. The room was very nice. The hotel has restaurants of various types, which was great. Many locstions in Japan open late, so having breakfast early was a real plus. Dinner went until 8:30 -- also great for a busy sightseeing day. I dId not use the hotsprings, but it sounded nice. As a solo traveller, i found the amenities very convenient. Internet was good. My room was a bit more expensive than I would otherwise have liked, but I think for the convenience it was worthwhile.
