Plus: The flight started with a visit in the recently renovated KLM crown lounge in Amsterdam airport. I liked the various seating options and of course the upstairs bar. The service on board was attentive and efficient, the food options I really liked (especially the Chinese dish) but also the little touches like the nuts & gouda cheese which were served in small porcelain bowls. The seat itself was very comfortable when sitting and the structure gives a lot of privacy. However for couples or friends travelling it's a bit cumbersome to have a conversation even when sitting in seats next to each other. Overall my expectations were fulfilled.
Minus: This seat is not ideal for sleeping for taller persons (I'm 185cm tall) as the space to put the feet is very narrow and it's uncomfortable when lying on the back (as one cannot put them in the natural resting position). Cabin temperature could have been a bit lower for my taste. Crew needs better training with regards to transfer procedure in Chengdu.

Minus: lost baggage
Minus: At the check in they made me pay 50€ for my luggage. This is really upsetting because from Houston to Venice they didn't make me pay. Either the website wasn't transparent or the lady at the desk made a mistake. Very upsetting, one luggage should be included.
Plus: They considered my reguest of vegiterian food.
Minus: I have no complaints.
Plus: The staff were very helpful and professional. The air hostesses regularly checked if I was ok and showed concern when I wasn’t. They made what seemed a bad situation seem bearable.
Minus: The food was not very nice and the option I wanted had run out. The entertainment was faulty and had to be reset several times. The comfort was below standard and needs to be improved.
Plus: Extremely hot the plane
Plus: We were a little delayed, so I read my book. Not for long though as I was really tired after my flight from Los Angeles. I fell asleep right after take-off and didn't wake until we landed. Best way to fly :-)
Minus: Very little legroom for a 6'1" guy. Would have liked a bit more space, but I guess I was too tired to let it bug me.
Minus: Flight was delayed by at least an hour leaving Paris - a regular situation I experienced with AF.

Plus: Lots of room”for stuff”, so you aren’t digging in your attaché case all the time, almost like a desk area. We had eaten prior to departure so I asked to be served the meal later and they had no problem.
Plus: We were bussed to the far end of the tarmac to board which seems normal for this airline out of Nanjing. The step stairs would be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. Seats are comfortable enough and the inflight entertainment has several options for current movies, tv, audio or games. Mine worked on the flight home but not the outbound flight. Meals were plentiful but not to my liking, catered to the majority of the travellers which is reasonable. There were some vegetarian meals available to those that requested previously. They came around many times with beverage service and water as well. Language is a bit of a barrier but if you are patient you can figure it out. Very happy overall with the experience we had at the price we paid.
Minus: Food options were limited. Boarding was a long process by bus out to the tarmac.
Minus: Absence of jet-way, unclean flight bad restrooms staff didn't speak or understand english

Plus: On time flight
Minus: There are a number of things that Etihad do that just degrade the quality and experience of the flight and I probably wouldn’t fly with them again as a result. I’ve listed these below: 1) Entertainment system is poorly appointed and travel in two seperate months found that little had been refreshed on the in flight programs. 2) The entertainment system is deactivated until the seat belt sign is turned off, and is deactivated again about 30 minutes prior to landing. 3) You practically have to cut off your arm to get some water. I would always bring my own water on the flight, but Australian regulations prevent more than 100mls being carried on flight. 4) The service is inconsistent, some staff are just downright rude and others are incredibly friendly. The time waiting after pressing the call bell is excessive and in one case my drink never arrived. 5) Unlike other airlines, they don’t give you a “menu” to chose from for the inflight meal. Instead they just come around asking “Chicken, Lamb or vegetarian”, and lack any real understanding of what’s actually in the food. 6) When you order a drink, they open the can pour some into a cup but don’t give you the remainder in the can. 7) The inflight wifi is expensive. 19.95 USD for 180mb puts them at one of the most expensive. Overall, I would have expected a bit more from an airline such as Etihad.
Plus: I was not put on the plane because they said my seat did not existed! I had purchased my ticket 3 months prior to departure and they said I did not have a seat on the plane due to overbooking. They clearly gave my seat away to someone else and this is not acceptable.
Minus: Ethiad was not helpful at all and did not provide any same day help. They’re customer service was absolutely terrible.
Plus: Check-in was easy and smooth.
Minus: Agents at check-in desk took longer time to process passengers, even though some desks had two people helping. The web check-in line moved slower than the line with passengers who had not done online check-in. When I booked my flight via kayak, I was not given an option to select seats (this was new) . I was able to indicate my seat preference but there was no followup. When I checked in online 24 hours before my flight, the only option for seats was in the middle, which I did not want, although I I knew the flight would not be full. I was able to change seats when I checked in with the agent in the airport .
Plus: The fact that I was not able to fly due to ethiad trying to make extra money was something I will Never forget
Minus: No airline has ever treated me this poorly. I hope this never happens ever again to anyone
Minus: Boarding began 25 min after the indicated time. Huge crowd of people (big Airbus 330) was standing in the corridor in some kind of disorganized manner. Priority entrance was open, but then another 20-25 min in the closed waiting area, some kind of hoarder. Only then the mixture of all passengers was let through the sleeve to the plane. Why bother about Priority? Plane arrive in NYC 35 min late. Many transit passengers worried about their connecting flights.
Minus: Very long delay, got bumped for a flight the next day. Horrible experience

Minus: Our first Air China flight departed 2 hrs late and then to top things off they lost my wife’s luggage on the way to Thailand. We had to wait in the airport for hours for it arrive on the next flight. The experience at Beijing airport was my worst experience in any airport. The Chinese staff were very rude. Just to transfer planes everyone must submit their fingerprints. I don’t think I will ever fly Air China again simply to avoid this airport.

Minus: -10 degrees and people hoarded in a bus to board an international flight that has no access to aerobridge. Vegetarian food for Air China is rice and boiled vegetables. Broken entertainment system. In short, the flight was disappointing

Minus: Entertainment needs to improve. there is poor movie selection and the screens are outdated. Touchscreens don’t work very well, movie selection is old. This is a 10+ hour flight please improve entertainment.
Plus: the food was delicious and the flight was smooth, the crew was friendly
Minus: navigation for the tv was extremely difficult.
Minus: Plane was placed far away in the airfield. Buses were taking people and were waiting to be filled. Doors of busses were open, it was cold outside. Priority and non-priority were waiting in the buses outside. Long ride through the field , letting taking off plane to go first. Bus by bus was bringing new portions of passengers. Plane departed late.

Minus: Economy seats are less than desirable. I’m alarmist positive I booked premium economy in kayak. Never checked my booking and notice economy later. Could have gotten the same price for premium economy elsewhere. Super pissed

Minus: Food options listed on menu were not available. Breakfast was served so late that crew said not enough time to make/serve hot coffee or tea. During flight no crew ever came around to offer more water or liquid between meals. TV was in German with no instructions on how to change language to English. Bathrooms were not kept clean. Also, when boarding at the HK airport, after disabled and families, everyone was asked to board at the same time which resulted in one very long line of several hundred people.

Minus: The aircraft seemed to be really old. The entertainment system on the seat I was allotted did not work, and I had to change seats. In the new seat, the entertainment system worked, but the seat didn't recline, and I had to change seats again - from an initially allotted aisle seat, to a middle seat. Also, the food service time was weird - we got a full lunch about an hour before we landed, which didn't make sense, and had to wait almost 5 - 6 hours between brunch and our next meal - a movie snack. Most passengers were famished by the time the lunch was served. Also, why was there no wifi?

Plus: The staff and flight attendants were pleasant. Good entertainment and comfortable enough seats.
Minus: I wasn't looking forward to the 11 hour flight, however the 4+ hour delay was a significant inconvenience. We were on the tarmac in Abidjan for almost an hour, before we were informed that there were some technical issues. We were told it was a minor issue, until clearly it was a large enough issue as a lot of time passed by. Air stopped flowing so many passengers including myself became uncomfortably hot and dehydrated. The flight attendants only came down the aisle once with water, which was not considerate enough given that the air stopped flowing. Finally close to two hours later passengers we instructed to disembark without mention of how long the wait would be. We re-boarded the flight after about an hour and only then were informed that there was not enough power to fly the plane. Once we took off the air flow returned and the flight overall was pleasant. While safety of course is a priority, especially for a long overnight flight, communication could have been much better.
Minus: stuck in the plane with no AC for 2h serve twice the same chicken hot hot hot plane arrived in the middle of the night travelling with a baby

Plus: Crew was lovely! Friendly and happy. Well organized and responsive.
Minus: Overseas flight seats were tight going and coming, and being that long a flight you feel you are sitting on top of your neighbors. Air quality descends on a long full flight, it became claustrophobic by the end. There was only an option for vegetarian-vegan, but I am not vegan. I won't do that again. My daughter's bag didn't make to SFO, even though we were early to check in.
Plus: Very friendly, without being intrusive. Responsive and happy.
Minus: The plane from Milan to Zurich was wonderful, light airy and felt like a new plane.
Plus: They had many snacks and meals. Staff was very friendly.
Minus: The dinner taste was not great. Seating is very uncomfortable and small. Really limited on space if seat is reclined in front of you.

Plus: This was a 12 hour flight that didn’t feel like 12 hours. They movies and other entertainment was very good with new and older movies that didn’t disappoint. The food was great all the way through to the farewell piece of chocolate.
Minus: The seats on this flight were very tight. I am 5’8 and felt super cramped. The seats themselves were not that bad just small and not a lot of space. If you fly with them don’t expect to kee anything under the seat with you. Also the whole boarding process is a big cluster! There is no real organization to the line or who they are boarding. Make sure you get in the line quickly or you could be waiting awhile.
Plus: The crew was nice and the movie selection was decent. Food was ok. As good as it can be when you pay $2,500 for a flight ticket knowing that they are not really there to offer you a service, they are there to make their own money knowing that as a traveler you really have no options other than an airplane if you want to go across the ocean.
Minus: Seats become smaller and smaller...and you keep asking about my experience...$2,500 to travel seating in a miniature seat with no leg room is a bit much...and I know no flight company cares about this...we have no choice...either take that or don’t travel, right?
Plus: The flight was adequate.
Minus: Sandwich was extremely unappetising and there were no hot drinks. The worst thing was that in transiting from the SAA flight to the Lufthansa flight we were obliged to go through security which seems unnecessary. The security staff were awful. Bullying, rude and totally unsympathetic to the fact that having brought water from the first plane to the second plane we had to either drink it or throw it away. One guy in particular, a tall greying man evoked the worst stereotypes of brutal secret policemen. Perhaps he formerly worked for Stasi or he was having testosterone problems. Totally unacceptable behaviour.

Minus: The main issue was getting off the plane in Sydney - we had to wait for a bus to offload us as the plane was sitting a long distance from the terminal. The bus eventually came, offloaded half the passengers and then returned 20 minutes later to start to offload the rest. It's the longest time I've ever spend disembarking from a plane and clearing an airport - very poor whoever was responsible (I'm assuming Sydney airport was at fault).
Plus: I enjoyed the flight because the flight NH9 wasn't fully booked, I used my next seat too. Also, the crews are generally better then usual, more smile. Food also better than last severity trips.
Minus: Even so, food can be better. I want more western drama on entertainment.
