Central Location and friedliness of staff
new style hotel in Gijon, nice location and easy to come no extra bed available even booked in advance
The staff very helpful, and hotel location for city and beach. No proper restaurant in the evening, and no coffee/tea facilities in the room.
staff very efficient and friendly. Breakfast excellent.
Good parking facilities. Helpful desk staff. Distance from restaurant area.
very good breakfast seletion. They confuse twin with double rooms. At reception we were told that we were getting a double room but we got twin. We did not complain in the end.
the hotel was in a excellent location easy access to the beach and shops could not surply a ironing service which was very disoppointing as i was in town for a wedding and both me and my friends could not iron are suits
Air conditioning in room didn't work. Socket hanging off wall in bathroom. Tv remote control didn't work.
The hotel was a long way from the center of the city.
Nice location adjacent to a beatiful park and within walking distance to the beach and restaurants I found the charge of €22.00 for 24-hour broadband access to the internet outrageous and will not use Tryp in the future due to this.
Great location. Receptionists were helpful - even though we didn't speak the same language! They had listened to my request for a room with a view of some sort. Other travellers mentioned that the hotel was not "4 star", and that the area was noisy late at night at weekends. This is true. But knowing this in advance was helpful - I still enjoyed my stay.
Location fantastic, easy walk to harbour, shops, restaurants, old town. Easy to find.
Hotel is situated in the middle of the city. Walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, sights, and on the beach . The hotel was perfect. Parking was a bit far.......but within walking distance.
Friendly, clean, very comfortable, geat location for beach and entertainment.Would recomend for a weekend break.
Excellent location, excellent value for money, would book again.
the location is good, the staff friendly and breakfast was available at 7 even though it was advertised at only 7.30 Breakfast could have been better. The coffee was not so good and the croissants a bit sugary. However I believe that this is standard in Spanish hotels.
We stayed at the HC for 3 nights whilst visiting our son, who is working in Gijon. The hotel is in a very central position only 10 minutes walk from the Bus & Railway stations, and from the sea front and beaches. There are many shops, restaurants and cafe/bars close by. The staff were very friendly, the room & ensuite very large, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The buffet breakfast was superb and taken in a beautiful old fashioned dining room, with friendly and helpful staff on hand to supply as much tea or coffee as you wanted.
All in all satisfactory stay
I loved the location which is in the centre 300mts from the bus station. The staff spoke english and were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a buffet and really good value. This is a good hotel for exploring the city and surrounding areas.
Very central but quiet location; free internet access in foyer
Staff all professional, rooms and common areas well appointed, comfortable - Great location, convenient to all areas of Gijon by foot, yet quiet - Free use of internet privacy booths a real plus Personal hygiene, toiletries, available in room should be expanded
Nice, Spanish old fashioned/style luxurious hotel in the centre of the town. Underground parking a few steps away, one of the main squares around the block, beach 5 mins walk and lots of little mesones and restaurants serving great fish and the famous Asturian cidra. Rooms are very big, comfortable and super clean. Slightly dated and old-fashioned bathroom, but in a perfect condition. This hotel is rather classy and offers a good value for money (paid Euro 50 through Booking.com without breakfast for double room in early November). Definitely recommend! Nothing.
The staff and consierge were very helpful
The suite had a confortable size and with good standard. however, the writing table was too small to comfortably use a laptop and at the same time have a writing pad there. I was disappointed about the breakfast - none of the two waitresses approached me to ask if I wanted anything and a very poor selection on the buffet - mostyl sweet stuff. On the table next to me they were served eggs and bacon, obviously on order, but I was never offered anything.
Right in city centre so able to walk everywhere. Very difficult to find if driving to Gijon.
We asked for a family room & were delighted with it - 2 adjoining rooms with a huge bathroom & balcony. Super.
location - close to beach and walks. The best thing was the guide to Gijon book in the hotel room. a really fantastic book with so much information and so easy to read it really helped us to access all the wonderful aspects of Gijon and made the holiday.
lovely modern design and comfortable rooms.
Modern and very well equipped, great location. Not a lot of personality.
Next to the beach, the reception girls are hot and very kinds, 25 euros extra for the sea view!! 18euros for the parking, 20 euros for the breakfast!! it´s a nice hotel but not so nice for this prices!
excellent location close to the beach and to main areas in Gijon.new modern hotel, with good facilities (including swimming pool, fitness center and jacuzzi). They have family rooms that suits family needs. breakfast price is unappropriate and complicated rates with different selections proposals instead of the classical, easy one price + buffet
Location, comfort Breakfast at bit basic for cost
Spotlessly clean, impressive looking with great views. Right on the beach. Nothing much to dislike, typical business hotel. Did not have many of the TV channels they claimed to have.
Clean, modern and friendly staff Very limited English TV from the satelite system
A nice hotel with an excellent location by the beach and old town. The lack of parking but this seems to be the case with most hotels in Gijon. A laundry service is advertised but this is only available, quite understandably, at certain times. The problem is that there are no ironing facilities available out of hours - in fact we were told it was "impossible" for us to borrow an iron. A mixed reception from the staff some friendly some decidedly cold, but again that is typical of Gijon.
It was well located with a good view of the beach. It was central and the cafe was very handy and felt part of the locality, rather than just a hotel cafe for clients, which was nice Initially trying to find it was a slight problem. Also having found the underground carpark (by luck!) it wasn't much fun taking our cases to and from the hotel
The size of the rooms. It is very nice to have some space. No
Good central location, very helpful and friendly staff, particularly the receptionists. Could do with the decor brightening up a little
All fo the staff were very friendly and helpful and made our stay very enjoyable
Good location staff friendly and helpful, close to city centre and old quarter. Breakfast adequate but not exciting
The staff were very friendly and helpful, even before we stayed there. When we arrived we were very pleased with the service, everybody did their best to ensure we had a pleasant stay. All in all, i was very impressed and would definately stay there again.
The location is excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very average.
quality of the bed (too hard)
Pleasant staff - very helpful provided hot water for Lemsips! Hotel was good value and well located Dining room was extremely hot.
Nice clean hotel
the facilities and the excellent staff
Excellent central location. Large bathroom. Decent WIFI
Location and staff
The location is great. The room was small.
Good location, friendly attendants, fancy furnished.
Central location. View of marina and out to sea from hotel room. Breakfast, which was inclusive, was minimal.
Family run hotel. The old man was extremely friendly. Very rowdy noises from street. Also, it advertised that it had a separate reading/TV room but I could not find this room
Helpful staff, small breakfast included. Good value but small room for me as a single. Very central to everything in Gijon, overlooking the yacht basin.
Very good location, single room has a slightly bigger bed than expected, it made a lot of difference to someone over six foot!
great location to the port and town centre, the continental breakfast was very poor ,evening meal was as bad and service charge was added without notifcation . decor very dated , hotel needs full revamp !
The views and the situation the price without breakfast
Very helpful stuff. Centrally located.
visting family great place to stay.
Staff was very kind. Rooms quite clean and no noises at all during night. Everything was correct!
This hotel is very reasonably priced and is on one of the best streets in Gijon. The staff was extremely helpful. The central location made it possible to walk every where.
Clean, large room and bathroom. LCD tv, free Internet. Hotel parking. Friendly staff.
Excellent central location Parkingis a nigtmare
excellent located in the centre of the city. clean, nice rooms
The hotel is located in the centre of the city Small, dark and noisy room
The location was excellent, right in the centre of down, the room were very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. La localización era excelente, en el centro del cuidad, el habitacion era muy limpio y el personal amistoso y provechoso.
The hotel is a great value! The room was large and comfortable, the cafe was excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful, the location is super. Close to great restaurants, beach, marina, walking/jogging areas, vinotecas, and bars. Parking is about 3-4 blocks away and is reasonable for Gijon. The hotel is in a great location, but I knew where it was and where to park. I did not have a lot of luggage, so I could roll my luggage from the parking garage to the hotel. Get directions if you are not familiar with the area on where to park temporarily while unloading / loading your luggage. But well worth it!
The hotel is in an excellent location close to all the bars and restaurants in Gijon. The bathroom was very small. Also walls are thin therefore you can here every noise from the surrounding rooms.
Very helpful and friendly staff, very efficient. Situation is good, near the old part of Gijón. Beautiful, clean room, very comfortable. Our bathroom was small, and the toilet was too close to the washbasin, but otherwise fine.
Central location good for beach, bars, restaurants and marina. Noisy at night weekends especially. Night club opposite.
Second visit to this hotel. The very friendly reception staff asked if we had enjoyed our previous stay. No hotel staff has *ever* before acknowledged a repeat visit. Though most staff can speak good English they will speak in Spanish if you indicate that is what you prefer. Hotel just as good as last time.
I loved the Japanese " Pod Type", small rooms, and the "Tardis Elevator" was like something out of Star Trek The breakfast buffet, no refrigerated foods, all at room temperature for unspecified period, a big No No in food hygiene.
Good location. Good value for money.Friendly staff
The atmosphere is sophisticated and yet very relaxed. The decor is very modern and exceedingly comfortable.Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Very nice service
Reception staff very helpful The only problem is the location which is right in the centre of a very busy town. Fine for business people but less uselful for a leisure stay.
The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. Everything was explained on our arrival. Hotel ideally placed for bothe the shore and the shops. I will use this hotel again.
Warm friendly and relaxing
Friendly staff - central location and good value
The welcome was excellent, the staff being very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and the quiet location meant a good night's sleep. Breakfast was simple but more tham sufficient. Definitely the best value-for-money hotel we have ever used.
