Everything! Felt very private everywhere! The grounds were beautiful. Decor elegant. Staff very nice and incredibly accommodating. Service at bar and restaurant a little slow to start. Would like the pool water to be a little cooler.
ROOM AND SERVICE PEOPLE WERE GOOD AND HELPFUL NOT A "4" STAR LUXURY RETREAT BASED ON THE DAILY RATE BUT OK .
Loved it, the amenities were great considering most resorts charge you for all the activities. The food and service was great and the place is so beautiful and lush.
Great facility. Easily accessible. Professional and courteous staff members. Nice and clean
Great location, really nice amenities. We liked the setup too, smaller buildings built on the beach with a couple of lagoons. The pitch and putt course was great, as was the inclusion of sea kayaks, fishing poles, and tennis gear. NOT having stand-up paddle boards as part of the "resort fee" when virtually everything else is included is sort of dumb. The Atlantic Edge restaurant is pretty good, but way over priced for the fare when compared to other local restaurants. That said, there are LOTS of other local places so don't feel compelled to spend twice as much for a piece of fresh local fish.
Very nice marina. Too pricey for what it is.
The place they moved us to was ok for the time we had it was near the dive shop and good restaurants still would have like to stay where we planned on staying. The staff was nice and rooms clean Check in was not tell after 4pm check out was by 11am even though we could stay and use beach after checking out it seemed rushed maybe next time we can stay longer and at the main resort.
one bedroom with full kitchen sofa bed was broken and housekeeping said oh well sorry...and did nothing for fix...stay away from room 118
Nice pool and jacuzzi Old beds, rooms are old and a bit musty. Tv did not work. Was a bit more like a motel than a hotel
I loved the view and the size of the rooms however they were dated. There is nowhere to even buy a bottle of water on the resort. Needs a tiki bar and at least a snack bar.. Or soda machine!
Would highly recommend. Service was excellent. Room was comfy and nice.
The pool was beautiful and is heated! The views were amazing. At the time we stayed there was no wifi. There were tiny gnats crawling around the bathroom sink every day. The window hinge was broken so that the window would not close; however this was fixed immediately by the staff by screwing the window permanently shut. There was a coffee pot with supplies to make coffee, but no cups provided.
This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Staff could use a lesson in how to run a hotel
We have been coming here for about 6 years now for lobster mini season, accommodations are perfect for us.... It would be awesome if the marina could comfortably accommodate midsize boats, I'm talking about 24' to 30' range... my dredging out some of the slips and channel. But I also understand that there are environmental red tape and hefty fees to make that happen down in the keys...
Awesome location, beautiful grounds, and an amazing beach front. Rooms were modern despite an older feel to the resort. Construction at the time of visit. They cut through a sewer line near my room and it was stanky. Was a minor annoyance and did not detract from my trip. But you may want to check and make sure the constuction has been completed.
The basic room was fantastic ! Lobed my stay! Nothing
nice rooms, all 1st floor, nice pools, breakfast included (but basic) Prsonell at the desk need to pay more attention to their guests than to their pc monitor
The room was great! Had everything we needed and more! Wish we booked more days. We will be back!
No one cleaned outlet rooms.
The room was nice and spacious. We enjoyed being able to walk down and access the water without having to go anywhere. The restaurant was delicious and workers were super friendly. The front desk staff when we checked in weren't very engaging. Even when we checked out they were very matter of fact and didn't try to engage us. When we were walking out there was one that ask if we had fun and enjoyed our stay. She definetly out shined anyone else working in that department.
I loved the layout of the grounds and the fact that everything was just outside of your room. The beach was huge and the pool(s) were amazing. The people at the Tiki Bar were very friendly. The front office staff was abrupt and the blue pool towels were very poor quality.
The location is great, the staff is friendly and and the resort layout is pefect with the tiki bar amost on the seawall beach. None worth mentioning.
My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at Islander and could not have been more impressed with the facility! We loved the rooms, amenities and especially the proximity to the ocean. The room was clean and spacious, we were able to walk around the property which is beautiful and we enjoyed the pool, Tiki Bar and Hot tub very much. We will most surely be back. Nothing.
Suitable place to stay for a couple of nights Dåligt underhåll
It's a charming little hotel resort from the 1940s. If you like that type of hotel, this is one of the nicest I've been to. No
Everything! There are no words to describe how perfect this place is! Beautiful, friendly, exceptional and the price is extremely reasonable for what you get. I want to live there!!!
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
This is a beautiful and quaint hotel with a great setting by the ocean. I honestly thought it would be a little more rough around the edged judging by the price but my room with new, clean, and well stocked. The view was stunning! I don't want to complain because this is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in the keys but the sheets were a bit rough, especially if your sunburned.
Great location - amazing spot to watch the sunrise in the morning. Very noisy air conditioner. Had to turn that off to sleep at night.
the rooms were big, nice beds bathroom was dirty also the towels were dirty ( they had hair on them) The service at the restaurant was slow
There was some remodeling but I'm sure once lt's done it would be amazing
Great hot tub area, nice to have a bar right near the pool so you can have lunch pool side, little play area in the sand was a nice plus, very modern and the food was incredible. So many things...we asked for the nearest boat ramp and they directed us to one miles away when they had one on location. I called ahead and asked about accommodations. They said every room has a pull out couch. It was a pull out chair...not couch. Couldn't sleep our family comfortably. Wanted ice, 2 different staff directed me to 2 different floors where there wasn't an ice machine.
The resort was clean and well designed and appointed after the renovation. They had given my reservation away and took a while to assign a room while they looked for the snafu. They did provide free drinks and breakfast for the delay, though! So that was thoughtful and accommodated for the delay.
Renovations were very well done has a luxury feel to it. Beautiful views pool side. Great little bocce court and swings and slide. Good central location in the keys. Small hidden hot tub. We reserved for 4 people and the uncomfortable pull out couch with springs in the mattress was only a twin. We tried to get another room each of the 4 nights with no luck. Lots of tiny jelly fish (sea lice) in the ocean entry area. I did not get stung, but both of my kids did.
The staff was exceptional - took care of the snake in my room, showed me how to use coffee pot, and telephone, fixed the TV and put new battery in safe. All unnecessary if it had been done prior to my arrival. The decor is lovely and the grounds pretty and well kept. Liked the hot tub. Kudoos to Annette I don't think the room was checked prior to my occupancy. or been occupied in some time The TV didn't work, the safe didn't work (dead battery) no instructions as to use of phone, coffee pot. the floor of balcony was dirty, no instructions to prevent shower flooding bathroom. I don;t expect to have to call maintenance several times in a 4 day stay when I go for rest and relaxation. It is a handicap room and a flooded floor could cause me to fall...
Hotel was beautifully decorated with a nice pool, beach and outdoor bar Nothing
the beach is nice, not too many beaches in the keys. very nice view of the ocean, and it was great to be able to have access to swim in the ocean. the pool was very nice , as well, kids love the pool. The rooms and everything else were very comfortable. Because I am on a lower budget, the only way we were able to stay there was through a 3rd party offer. We were there only for 2 nights. Food and drinks are always pretty expensive at places like this, so I couldn't partake, as I would of liked.
I liked everything about it! The front desk member Annette was most helpful. I didn't bring my id to get drinks because I didn't want to lose it in the sand or water. I was denied a drink at the Amarca Bay bar outside. I recommend that there a be a system in place that allows guests to charge drinks to their room. Try temporary database of guest's proof of age to the Front desk conputers, or distribute a proof of age wristband.
Loved the scenery and the beautiful waters. Very close to restaurants and shops. They di not have a Tiki bar or restaurant
We stayed in one of the cottages. Nice screened in porch and beds were very comfy. Sitting on top of the tiki hut was awesome in the breeze watching the motor sports on the water. Really nice place. We saw a sign that said no taking wildlife from the lagoon so we didn't fish off the dock. The dock was full of snapper but we could only fish off the beach were there were no fish.
Great waterfront view from our room, heated pools, and nice harbor for the boats. Covered parking was nice and the staff was also very friendly. You are charged a daily resort fee not included in the original cost, but I have to say it's less of a resort and more of a hotel.
i liked the location of the resort. The activities like kayaking, biking and sailing were of no extra charge. Breakfast was included. The views and grounds were very attractive. Our college aged daughter and friends joined us for an overnight, and really loved the resort.
Just ONE catamaran is not ready for sailing. Lack some important accessories for normal sailing.
Breakfast awesome fresh Construction all day next door, no food at property. The have a bar/tiki but it is closed. Rug in rooms very clammy. Only to sleep and leave.
We upgraded from a regular room to a suite 702, and was thrilled with the accommodations, could not have asked for a better view. Felt like royalty for 3 days. PS Breakfast is included I think with most rooms was acceptable
We liked the views and proximity to water and water sports. Breakfast was good. Plenty of outdoor seating to relax. Good location. Our bed was so tough to sleep in, and we tried both beds in the room. We woke up with sore backs and tossed all night. So we were tired a lot of the trip from barely sleeping. We are young too so this is not regular for us. Other than that, the room could have been cleaner, specifically the shower. And we wished for a tiki bar for drinks on resort.
Staff was very helpful in getting our room upgraded to a king room. We were even able to upgrade to a king suite with ocean view. We did have to pay more, but it was discounted for us. Very quiet and relaxing with a beautiful view! Our room at first had 2 double beds and we wanted a king.
We absolutely loved staying here! The price is affordable for the Keys, continental breakfast included, free use of kayaks, free wifi that actually works, pool & hot tub, hammocks & comfy seating galore... This place is fantastic. We were looking for a relaxing getaway in a clean hotel & that's exactly what we got. I recommend the kitchen suite so you can cook your own meals to save money & because this hotel has no restaurants in walking distance. We would definitely stay here again anytime! It never bothered me, but you can hear highway noise, but hey, this is the keys, one main road running thru, so almost any hotel you will hear the highway.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The townhouse we rented was very clean and beautifully decorated. The outside premises was very clean and kid friendly. I loved the outdoor hammocks and open space for the children to play. I also like that they offer recreational activities for their guest. I wanted a later check out which was not available as well as the complimentary breakfast was somewhat limited. However it was very minor compared to the other fantastic amenities.
Beachfront view, pier and comfortable rooms. The new restaurant, staff did not come across welcoming, we ordered cocktails which were very poorly presented and bland not to mention expensive. That was disappointing.
Couldn't be better considering the price! Kayaks were free to use, you just had to reserve them at the front desk. A good number of hammocks and chairs around for guests to sit in while lounging around the common area as well. The room was beautiful with a fantastic view and a private deck, absolutely loved it!! There was also a kitchenette with dishes to use, so if you were staying there for longer you could make some food and eat at the little table in the room. There were reserved spaces for some of the rooms, but ours was a "B" numbered room so there was no real place to park, and we had to park our car off the highway in the grass next to the building.
The townhouse was very spacious. The staff was extremely rude. Basically kicked us off property after check out.
We loved the full kitchen in our studio, waterfront room, well manicured grounds with hammocks, lounge chairs and bbqs! Bed was older, staff was strict about checkout time
The view was amazing, nice beach furniture, free kayaks. Poor staff experience, maid walked into room before checkout, no towels in room, Must leave resort after checkout, heated pool in July, no door or beverage on property.
Staff was attentive, friendly and made our visit very relaxing and pleasurable. Violet and Shelby were wonderful and met all of our lodging and resort needs.
The grounds and buildings were very nice. There was plenty of hammocks and chairs. There could have been more lounge chairs on the ground. There were plenty at the pool and sauna. Both were very clean. I thought everyone was every friendly. Beds and pillows were comfortable. The hotel is a long way from everything. Closest place was MM 80. The room was nice but for me the attention is in the details. We only had one bar of soap for 2 days, I had 2 go get a bar for the shower. The shower didn't have a shelf for the soap or shampoo. They gave u shampoo but no conditioner. Not enough towels. The cleaning is lax, there was sand on our floor the whole week, they didn't take the empty bottles, the one light was missing 2 bulbs/4. The clock didn't work. though they immediately brought one when I called. The furniture was a hod podge .The fixtures were all rusted and the vanity had seen better days. There was a lot of garbage under one of the beds. W had ants in all our food that was on the counter. The comp breakfast was pitiful. Only orange juice, no apple. no fruit. Just coffee, tea, muffins, danish and bagels. There is a rule for everything. The supposedly heated pool was across the street and the water was very cold.
Rooms aren't anything too fancy but overall nice. But staying in the keys I don't think you need a lot inside because I'd imagine most are coming to be outside. The complimentary breakfast is basic (bagels, pastries, juice, etc) and you can buy eggs, pancakes, etc. The views are amazing! Right on the water and plenty of places to relax outside! Overall, nice stay.
Very nice layout.. Good size room. I drove through the night to arrive at the hotel. I then saw a sign stating open from 8 am to 10 pm. I had no where to go in the middle of the night. I had to go and get another hotel room. No where in any of the booking or confirmation letters was there any information stating to arrive by 10 pm. Apparently there is a sign the size of my hand in a pitch black front door area stating late arrivals to go to the back of building. This was very unclear and I was not satisfied with my experience
Location general feeling activities Breakfast can be better
Liked everything. Service, room, everything was great!
We were absolutely thrilled with our room, which was spotlessly clean, bright, had a full kitchen, and a balcony. The resort had upgraded us to a room with a pool view/ocean view. Staff were extremely helpful, and welcoming. Our only regret was that we had only one night there. Our only disappointment was that an all male reunion of some sort booked in the same day we did. And they became louder, and their language more offensive, with each drink they had. However, the hotel staff appeared to do the best they could, and the partying appeared to have been stopped by about 10:30 PM.
The staff was very friendly. I loved the atmosphere of relaxation. The grounds were gorgeous, very well tended. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I liked having a full kitchen and a private balcony. I would reccomend Pelican Cove to anyone traveling to the Keys.
We liked the location of the hotel in front of the ocean and its proximity from John Pennekamp State Park The service is minimum and there is no facility on site to have a breakfast
Nice spacious rooms, great pool and views Need more staff for pool bar and grill. Pool needed attention.
The beds in our room was quite comfortable and all amenities worked fine. I have stayed at the Pelican Cove many times over the years so it is quite enjoyable there.
I liked the rooms and the layout of the hotel and dock area. We rented a boat and had a great time there.
A great tropical setting with a great outdoor bar area. Beautiful beach area with water access! Plenty of things to do! Towels were a bit scarce and the breakfast buffet could use a bit more of a selection. Hot scrambled eggs are cheap to provide and would greatly improve the spread.
Free paddleboard, free kayaks, beautiful grounds, never felt crowded, clean updated rooms, the staff was great. The pool was a little small, the breakfast was just basic, the food was OK.
I like the coziness atmosphere and the beachfront property!!!! Rooms are not well sound proof and we can hear every noise from upstairs or outside :-(
Captain Sue's Snorkel Charter, water activities, Fred at activity center More informative of resort layout at check in, assigned parking
Location. Easy access to restaurants and small beaches. Could be a nice place after a full renovation. Rooms are 'tired'. They feel dirty even if clean. Peeling paint. Cracked tile. Ancient linens. 3 friendly staff members who work limited hours. Ice machine is behind a locked door so we never had ice.
The staff - super personable, helpful and friendly! The view was wonderful and the location was great too.
Decent location on the Key. I would not suggest paying over $--- per day.
View/location, nice pool No ice, difficult door lock, no bath fan or AC, bed too firm, pool entry ladders very difficult, pool not handicap accessible, gravel everywhere got in sandles
Yeni and Alex were very welcoming. The view was gorgeous and we got great use out of the pool.
Pet friendly Renovations were in progress; the toilet did not flush and the shower would not shut off. Seaweed collected and rotted at the beach front creating an unpleasant odor.
Nothing. Awful. Room daily cleaned. No maid service for our three days. No change of sheets or towels, floor not cleaned, bathroom not cleaned, hot tub unclean. Had to request clean towels and soap. Office generally unoccupied. $---/night outrageous overcharge!
Owners were very friendly and acted promptly when shower wouldn't drain. Nice kitchenette. Relatively quiet location. Pretty flowers. Kids loved the tropical birds too plumbing issue
QUAINT ROOM WELL DECORATED CLEAN STAFF RUDE IN CHECKING IN CALLED MY HOME AND SAID I DID NOT PAY
Location good, room very cute. The children of managers were running all over all the time, running around underfoot with a tiny puppy that has us all (4) worried for its safety. The parrots in the cages had filthy water and no food which worried us also. The vacation ruined place empty
The location is perfect. It is also pet friendly. The beds were way too short and I'm just average height, 5'6". The bathroom does not have air conditioning or exhaust fans.
This hotel is pretty old but it was very clean. The staff was great. When there was an issue with the toilet in one of the rooms, they immediately moved us. The pool area was nice and the sandy beachy area was like a television commercial.
On the route to key west and cheaper than key west prices, no cockroaches that I saw Beach was full of garbage, nowhere to swim or lay out, furnishings REALLY old and deteriorated, "ocean view" room had a nice view of the flooded parking lot, staff(owner) was arguing with another family and treated them very rudely, not a relaxing stay whatsoever, would have preferred to sleep in the car
Beautiful oceanfront setting with parking adjacent to unit. We had to exterminate the mosquitoes from the room. Unit in desperate need of routine maintenance.
Awesome aquarium type dock area with many species. Staff also were outstanding!
Excellent location, on the water with great area for watching sunsets Room furniture was dated and could use a good cleaning.
Owner made it very convinient for late check in. Great customer service!! Tv needed updating
The location was absolutely beautiful. Stunning views of the gulf, right next to a small beach, plenty of outdoor area to sit, grill, docking for boats, and an award winning restaurant right next door. The hotel rooms themselves have not been updated for decades (I'm not exaggerating)! The curtains and bedspreads are very dark and heavy, lighting not good, old fixtures. However, despite this, the room was clean and they had some updates like WiFi .
The hotel is located on the water with access to boats and water activity. There is also the convenience of a bar and restaurant on site. The room was clean and the space was adequate but I would not stay for one more night. The AC problem was reported to the general manager and she said they would fix it when they cleaned the room which did not solve the problem for us or offer any type of compensation. I came to this hotel for one night for business. The AC was not working from the time we entered the room. We put it down to 60 degrees and sweat the entire night. The door to the room was extremely hard to open and close and it did not close completely leaving a large gap.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The smell of the cleaning solution was overpowering. Had to leave the room for a while. Also on our first nights stay our coffee pot was left on and we noticed it the next day when we went to make coffee
