Price and upgade
The view and the pools are very nice and I was impressed with them. The food and drinks were just average. I understand that more people cook themselves in this type of property and not to expect a five star experience. The service was weak and inattentive in the restaurant, enough to get you your meal, but mostly feeling in different.
This place had everything that we expected and the Beach was great you could go rite from your hotel snorkeling I recommend this place a return Everything
Huge room. Gorgeous views. Huge tub. Beautiful tile work. Big kitchen. Washer and dryer The beds were just awful. They were rock hard and not comfy at all. The pillows were small. Had a very hard time sleeping. No coffee maker!!!
Our one bedroom unit worked well. We ate in or out as suited us. Nice 3.5 mile beach trail starts in a park just south of the property; good for running and walking, but could be contested in spots. we had full access to the timeshare immediately south, and frequented the happy hour at their beach/pool bar and their lounge chairs. Grounds were lush and attractive. Beach was nice to look at, but not very useable, as it was small and the surf was high. Too small even for lounging. Next door was better.
The location was wonderful and the pools and grounds were very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our roof leaked when it rained. We had to move one of the beds over because it was dripping on the bed. The television was old and hard to figure out the stations.
It was on the ocean. Grounds were clean. The room we initially were assigned to had not been cleaned. Beds were torn apart and toiletries were sitting on the vanity. Our subsequent room had ants.
I had a wonderful time with absolutely no complaints. Nothing.
We actually never stayed at the Ka'anapali Ocean Inn...when we checked in, they were over-booked so they put us up in 1st floor, oceanfront cottage room at the Royal Lahaina...it was great. Just a few steps to the beach, a few more steps to the pool and a wonderful view out the sliding glass doors. Every member of the staff, from checking in, to taking us to our room, to the breakfast buffet, to checking out...everyone was great. We live on Oahu and came over for 1 night for our son's birthday...we would stay here again. There was a damp, moldy smell, but we wrote it off as being close to the ocean and the cottages being older. However, as we were leaving, we noticed in the closet, that the wall between the shower and the closet was moldy, the carpet there was wet and the base board was starting to disintegrate.
It was quiet and the staff accomodated us when we asked for a different room. It is an older hotel and even though the hallways are covered, they are still accessible from the outside so anyone walking by could enter and come to your room door. The original ocean front unit was right next door to a luau and with the west exposure, the air conditioner could not keep up with the sun shining in and it got quite warm. Free internet is in the lobby only of the larger hotel several doors down but not in the room. There is a $10 self parking charge and the room has a shower only, no bathtub. There is also no elevator.
We were able to come to Maui on short notice. The westin exceeded all our expectations
They lost our reservation! We ended booking at another hotel.
FACILITY, Pool, gym We had booked the room for our honey-moon and the room they gave us was a suite facing the car park and right next to the lift. And this was after we were given a room on the 8th floor that stunk like toilet.
At the check-in they told us our room is ocean view with king bed. When we got to the room, it had a view of a parking lot with an ugly building and had 2 twin beds. They did not have the room we booked a month in advance because they "overbooked" for the holidays. This was completely unacceptable. They refused to give us the room with Ocean View until the next day. We booked another hotel and disputed the amount I paid for this hotel. At the end we lost one day of our 4 day vacation.
Love the location and the surrounding facilities, mall, restaurants, etc. Staff assigned me and my wife a room with 2 double beds for a week long stay in the most romantic place on earth. It was just too bad we could never sleep together the whole week. Ruined the whole trip for me.
Beautiful grounds and facilities. Great service and within walking distance to many restaurants. Crowded most of the time. charged for many things that were included with resort fees elsewhere such as paddle boards.
Everything! Walking distance to Kaanapali Beach,, Whalers Village, beautiful ocean view room, beautiful shower, strong A/C, comfy bed, clean gym and friendly staff! N/A
Everything. Great for families, honeymooners, young couples, old couples, beach bums, active people, lazy people, food lovers, drinkers...etc It was perfect
The flamingos and swans were absolutely beautiful. The pool was a little cold.
The Bed! The Adult-only pool area (though the kiddos still managed to sneak in due to irresponsible parents) Proximity to beach Nice shower, but small bathroom area overall Lack of good food options Loud children in the hallways (maybe consider making some areas of this hotel for singles/couples only?) No fan in the bathroom
Nice room, cleanly, beach front, nice pool area and not too bad a price for the area...being close to Lahaina was great! The hotel room we stayed in was a bit of a ways from the lobby and we had to walk through a row of shops to get to the front, but towards the end it wasnt that bad being away from commotion. The breakfast was expensive for what was being offered. It wasnt bad, just not worth $30/person. Parking was $18/day which hurt after we were there for so many days.
Top shelf overall. The beach. Too much coral and rock.
* People/service was great! * View of ocean from room was wonderful * always restocked amenities everyday * very clean bathrooms, room, lobby, etc. * Food was very good Everything was overpriced, but we were in Maui, and Hawaii is expensive ... getting there is only the beginning when it comes to spending $$$$
Wish I was still there. I left my camera charger in the room. They shipped it back to me. Loved it and would stay again if I can.
The view was stunning, and the amenities top notch. That I was unable to stay longer.
room service was awesome...food outstanding. Front desk personnel were very friendly and accommodating. Went to Japengo for dinner...sat us in the lounge area...even though the lanai was ready for seating and to catch the sunset...were told it wasn't open yet although hours of operation stated 5:30...sat with our backs to the water and couldn't see the sunset through the bar...after 10 minutes about 20 Japanese tourists were seated in the restaurant. felt shunned. The floor/carpet was dirty in our room (201). Nasty stains (by the nightstands and throughout the floor) we wore slippahs in the room! Coming from Honolulu, expected more. We were on the second floor and couldn't sit on our lanai since the people next door were out there smoking cigarettes and it smelled disgusting. For $400/night felt ripped off! Also feel parking should be a couple dollars a day...not $16! Then an additional $30 hotel fee???? Hyatt residence club employees were shoving the "timeshare" experience down our throats! Didn't spend that kind of money to try to be persuaded to purchase anything.
I liked the beauty of the resort. All the flowers and the way the pool was designed. Very beautiful grounds. The rooms need to have some upgrades done. Get rid of acustic ceilings old and outdated. The door to the bathroom at the bottom was chipped up and discolored. Moldings in bathroom needed to be recaulked.
The room, the staff, pool, location Dont think that guests need to pay for sofa or seet on the pool.
Lots of hidden fees. Overpriced food and drinks. They would not give me a complete bill when I checked out. Cost to park my vehicle!
It was a nice $200 a night hotel. Unfortunately I paid $600 a night The valet took 15 minutes to get our car and I had to ask twice to get the car. Two of the three elevators were broken so we eventually carried out bags down 5 flights of stairs after waiting 10 minutes. The bartender used his hands to put ice in people's glasss.
The design of the resort: the pools, the waterfalls, the wildlife lawns, etc. The staff are consistently nice and patient, the shuttle service within Ka'anapoli area, the size of the rooms. Compares to other resorts in the area such as Marriott and Westin, Hyatt's rate is very reasonable about average of $350/night. Son'z restaurant food was terrible for 5-star, fine-dinning categorization. The popcorn ceilings in the rooms can be upgraded. It has no beach - we'd have to walk further the Marriott resort for the beach. Hyatt should do a better job enforcing the no-smoking policy on floors designated as non-smoking floors, it's never pleasant to be out on lanai and having to deal with someone next to your unit smoking up a storm.
The staff was excellent and very accommodating. We had an early departure to the airport and the manager got up early to fix our breakfast and wrapped it up so we could take it with us on the ride to the airport. Nothing.
The hotel had a very old-world charm to it without being run down. Rooms were spacious. The pool was very clean and private even though it was a two minute walk to front street in Lahaina. Nicely situated. Wish were could have stayed longer.
Kannapali Beach Club was very clean, great food, great beach, excellent FRIENDLY staff!! Would definitely stay there again!!
excellent front desk staff; liked ability to grill, full size fridge; added reservation to our timeshare exchange we thought that the parking fee was high
A couple of tours from lahina harbour. Walked the shops No room service
the best location in Lahaina closed to the beaches, shops, bars, .... clean , good atmosphere, cool front street room too noisy sometimes,
The location was excellent. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and harbor. We were given a room upgrade when I called to confirm our stay. The bathroom floor was never very clean-looking.
the atmosphere of the town, the pool, the happy hour the food & menu was poor
lovely courtyard; nice balcony overlooking front street with lush trees Downstairs restrooms were dirty
The wonderful staff, the historical ambience of the hotel, and the location, right on the waterfront, in the middle of all the fun stuff Lahaina has to offer.
The location was great, right next to the ferry port and Lahaina shops and restaurants. The historic and slightly quirky nature of the hotel was appealling
Not much. No elevator Baby's are not allowed to laugh at 3 in the afternoon on new years eve or you get a knock from management on door....but they can cry with no complaints. They have parrots all over and a filthy sports bar with loud rowdy locals that scream. Wait staff is rude and unpleasant and if you whistle at the bird that constantly whistles the bartender embarrasses you and disciplines you for whistling back at the bird. The pool is freezing miniature and an absolute joke. Oh yah...the birds awake you at 5am just after the septic truck Hoover's outside at 430am also waking you..don't plan on sleeping in...no place for coffee...horrible coffee at restaurant. Place is a joke
The location was great for shopping and tours. Cafes and restruants were close and good value. Good location for all tours and boat trips. When we booked we thought that we would have a room looking over the harbour. The hotel only has rooms looking over the park and the main street. Suggestion that they include in their website that there are no rooms over looking the harbour area. If you have a choice book the rooms over looking the park instead of the main street. Be careful of some tour operators as there is a majority of tour operators which are in fact time share sellers. There are some that advertise that they are not involved in time share and they are the best. You might pay more for the trips but you do not have to put up with a 2 hour sales pitch that could cost you up to $46,000 US dollars.
Very friendly staff and gorgeous soroundings.
Great location close to front street and designated parking for hotel guests with day pass for sale so you can come and go as you please. We needed minor assistance in the evening and there was not any staff available, only a sign directing us to call the main resort with any problems. Also nobody on staff at checkout, just a key drop box. Also, the bed was a full size, we would have preferred a queen/king.
The shower was pathetic. Bathroom small.
Great downtown location with easy parking. No front desk staff when we arrived (around 7:00 pm). The lock on the door to our room needs to be fixed as the key didn't work for us or the housekeeping staff.
The 2-storey hotel dates from the 1930's and only has a few rooms. Don't expect modern conveniences but do enjoy the rustic interior, antique furnishings, large veranda and large balcony with a view of the ocean in downtown Lahaina. Friendly staff. Although our room was large, there was very little furniture. No place to put an extra suitcase. An extra table and a few shelves or drawers would be nice.
Welcoming environment. Very accommodating and helpful staff. many available amenities for beach use. Sufficient clothing space. Free wi-fi and computer use. Sun room with great privacy. Washer/dryer. Barbecue and full cooking facilities. Patio and pool plus individual hot tubs. Great shower. Great DVD collection and in-room television and DVD players. In room refrigerator. Smallish bathroom. Not in walking distance to Lahaina center.
Clean spacious rooms with private hot tub and lanai. Helpful, friendly staff. Great breakfast to start the day. Free use of the kitchen for cooking. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood about one to two miles from the downtown center of Lahaina. Free parking, wi-fi, laundry and no hidden fees. Wonderful new upper deck to view sunsets over the ocean. Free use of beach chairs, beach towels, cooler, snorkeling gear. Will stay again when we return.
I liked the location, the comfort and spaciousness of our room, and could appreciate the efforts beiing made by the property to upgrade its facilities. I did not like the fact that we were not informed prior to arrival that construction was going on. To be fair, the hotel reduced our rate after I complained.
The 1 bedroom condo units are very spacious and well-designed. You feel like you're living at the beach rather than escaping your room for outings. We did not hear any noise from nearby units except when the maids were moving patio furniture to clean. Our unit could have used a larger living room TV (approx. 25in CRT) as it was dark by 6pm and we just wanted to watch a movie at night. (TV size varies with the individually-owned units.) It was particularly nice to have a washer & dryer in the unit.
Friendly staff. Everything exceeded our expectation
Beautiful accommodations, great location with amazing beachfront access. The condo units are very well stocked with supplies.
We stayed in the b&b 4 nights. The b&b is nice and it's in a quiet area. It has a nice tropical garden. Itisn't on the beach but close to it, 2 blocks (passing the busy street), anyway it was close by car to lahaina , in Maui , the nicer town on the island for dining, shopping, etc. It's also quite close to the beaches of fleming beach park and many others. The b&b is located in a strategic area. The staff/owners arent' so friendly, the son it's very kind and friendly but Bill and Jaime not really. The b&b is full of signs with forbidden things that the guests haven't to do; the a/c is often out of order, the breakfast is poor and it's served only from mon-fri (what kind of b&b is it if on the weekend you haven't breakfast?).
The moment we walked into our condo and saw the view, we fell in love with the place. The ocean view with the neighboring islands were amazing. We saw a sea turtle grazing on some seaweed just a few feet from our lounge chairs. We also saw a whale breaching and splashing around from our balcony. The interior was very nice and well kept. The appliances were new, the countertops were recently upgraded from the looks of it. They had everything that you needed to make yourself comfortable in the condo. We never needed to get anything else except food when we were there. It's also very affordable compared to other places. The only thing we can criticize was the size of our bed. They only had a full size mattress and I felt a bit cramped with me being 6 ft and my wife in the small bed. Other than that small detail, the place was just fantastic.
The entire resort was really well maintained, had an amazing view of the ocean, liked the fact that the patios were huge. Really close proximity to the beach. Convenient store inside the resort was very useful and had good breakfast. Even though the resort itself was really well maintained, the unit itself was outdated and had issues like the TV remote did not work, patio door was broken and hard to open and close. Kitchen was very outdated as well.
very nice room, well maintained and handsome grounds, friendly and efficient staff, beach access good, nearby snorkeling good. very long walk to hotel room. Although minor, but had coffee (latte) in hotel. Ouch- was bitter- i suspect very inferior beans that were also over roasted. I disliked the coffee so much that I didn't eat or drink anything in the hotel. I rather went to all the other nice restaurants nearby.
There is simply no better location in Maui Activity concierge was not really ahead of its game
location - windy and rainy part of the island
Stephen the valet set the tone from the moment he opened my wife's car door, escorted us to check-in, and down to our pool terrace room. His courtesy and hospitable attitude was echoed by the front desk, concierge, restaurant and housekeeping staff. Comfortable King bed room included a chaise lounge, desk, bench at foot of bed, huge LED TV and spa bath. In room coffee/tea and fridge for our own snacks/drinks. Clean clean clean. Excellence and luxury throughout. Amazing shore, pool areas, walking trails... Peaceful location above the fray of the more populated costal areas -- but only about a 15-minute ride to Lahaina with its lively stores, restaurants, and harbor activities, We know where we will be staying on Maui. Bravo! Nada!
The location of the property is beautiful. The service left a lot to be desired -- not what you would expect from the Ritz-Carleton. In fact, we were so disappointed, we checked out after two nights and moved to a different hotel.
Friendliness of staff, club floor with lounge access, quality of food, comfort of room, ultr cleanliness of room, luxury of hotel
It was a great experience staying such cozy resort with excellent restaurants and location. N/A
Large well-appointed rooms...gorgeous beach. Concierge team was excellent, especially Shelly.
The space, the unnoticeable but well prepared luxury and services. Cleanness, location, choice of programs, overall hospitality.
Food was excellent.
Clean and uodated facilities and room. Excellent customer service and attention to detail. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. The on site seaside cliff is spectacular. Beach area was nice and secluded but small.
Amazing service! Perfect for our honeymoon with exceptional service, great location, beautiful ocean front grounds.
The location was fantastic. With a sea view we were located right next to the beach. Falling asleep in the tempur pedic bed with the sounds of waves crashing was paradise. From looking at many beaches around Maui, Napili beach was by far our favourite and we always made it home for sunset. In fact i proposed with the sunset as a backdrop, perfect! The construction work that was ongoing. However, the management let us stay in the room on our final day until 1pm due to this, so i was very happy and it didn't really get in the way of my vacation.
Family like atmosphere and the access to the beach as well as facilities. The only complaint was relating o the housekeeping which was very fair. Besides the hotel there are not many hotels or pubs so if you want just to relax it's the best place otherwise you need to hire a car.
Staff is very friendly and kind. The beach in front of the hotel is not crowded and very beautiful.
The tempurpedic matresses were a very nice touch. The ocean view rooms, did not have an adequate view of the ocean from the rooms.
The spaceness, cleaness and the view of the room the breakfast which is very poor : some bread, 2/3 types of fruits, coffee and poor quality orange juice.
That the place was perfectly situated by the waterfront. And when we arrived late at night the pool area and garden were lit up with gas torches. It looked magical! Could have been more availability of different fruit selections, such as watermelon, etc at breakfast
The lifestyle (Few rooms, friendly atmosphere). The location near the sea is fabulous, the garden beautiful. nothing
Great rooms, with remarkably modern design for Hawaii! The location is also perfect, with a wonderful beach for swimming/snorkeling. We even saw a green turtle from the shore! They have some major renovations going on right now, and I'd advise against booking here until they're finished (currently due to be after April 2010, I think). At present the whole resort looks like a construction site and is very noisy.
Very clean and lovely facilities. Friendly and helpful staff Breakfast could be better
The room we booked was not available so they provided us with a better one for the same price.
Loved the location! Beach RIGHT there with view of Molokai and of Lani! Really like no AC, no TV.
Elegant service, warm staff, Hawaiian cultural programs, horticultural tour Restaurant staff seemed hastled
I booked the hotel room, paid for it, and when I showed up they told me I wasn't in the system and I couldn't stay there. What?!! Terrible front desk person who wouldn't let me stay at the hotel even though I showed her my receipt of payment for the room. Never again. I would not recommend this place unless you're sure they will give you your room.
