We love this hotel and decided to stay even though there was construction taking place. Our room was out of the sound of the construction but the lobby! Oh MY! We had no idea. Jackhammers as we walked in. Deafening. And the breakfast was in 2 small, crowded spaces, instead of the lovely lobby where it usually is. See the other side.
Modern decor. Hotel mailed me the shirt I forgot in the closet! Shower was under powered.
It was all modern/contemporary and designed very unique. Lobby was really cool. Complimentary breakfast was AMAZING--- we chose the hotel because it was included (which is hard to come by in that area) and it did not disappoint! Parking was $20 per day with the hotel valet. But there was a parking deck right next door that was only $5, so we parked there instead.
the front desk staff was awesome, the laundry was an added bonus and the parking was great!
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Location was okay for us. Hotel was undergoing renovations. Bathroom doors in the room did not close. Had to go through three rooms to find one that was acceptable, but even then the room we were in had issues. Not enougbsestingfor breakfast people were sitting on the floor in the hallways eating.
Our first anniversary started out very stressful and hectic, this being our first time in Savannah, and our trip being largely unplanned, but this hotel redeemed it, from the moment we walked in the stress melted away, our room was beutiful, bed was super Comfy, couldnt have asked for more from our rooms, and the hubby And i loved the happy hour "reception" at the dinning area. We only stayed one night so i didnt get alot of time to see any other amenities. I only wish that house keeping knocked louder (i thought she was down the hall until she opened our door) and that the pillows hadnt been down (allergies) and i never thought to ask if they had others
I did not like that the hotel charged for parking.
The hotel was a short walk away from River Street. Hotel has the old world charm in keeping with Savannah. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Not ideal that the parking deck is a couple of blocks away from the hotel and costs $15 per day. I reserved a King room but we had to stay in a room with 2 Double beds because there were no kings available when we checked in.
Location! Close to everything. Really liked the fact that coffee was available at all times, and the cookies were a nice touch. Breakfast was wonderful--they even had a "to go" breakfast on the final day, as our flight left before breakfast was even served. Staff was courteous and helpful.
Easy check in and friendly staff Bathroom floor was a bit dirty
We could easily walk to the beautiful and bustling riverfront where all the action was - great restaraunts, shops, etc.
Breakfast Location helpful staff some street noise
Great morning breakfast, easy walk to all sites.
The pros of this stay here include the great location, the breakfast that's included, the cleanliness of the room's bathroom, and the courteous staff Major cons that ruined my entire stay would include the infestation of Insects in my room (ants) on the floors and walls. The front desk associate who overcharged my card two more times after I had already booked and paid for my room online. And me not getting the type of room I requested when I booked and paid online. I will also like to include the poor parking unless you're paying for valet.
the comfortable beds I was charged for $90 of parking when I was told it would be $60 for 2 nights. The staff did not seem to be extremely helpful either.
Fairly close to the city market and river street. $5 UBER ride back and forth or about a 4 block walk. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Valet parking only, and it's $18 per day.
Located across street from Civic Center. Even on 5th floor we could hear red light green light traffic all night.
old savannah tour was the best
Staff We did online check in and they didn't use it
We really liked the walking proximity to everything. If you walk, bring a backpack for water and stuff you buy. The staff was Southern hospitality at it's Savannah best. The hotel was clean and they provided plenty of towels for the pool. For downtown, the rate wasn't bad. The railroad museum, a revolutionary war battlefield, and the Savannah Visitor's Center are right there. I thought there could have been a continental breakfast in there and some clarification on how/where to park would be nice. If you don't do the $18 for valet, then you'll pay about $5 less (a day) for the city parking garage across the street ( it does depend on what part of the week it is for what you pay). There is only one choice of pillow and that's squishy.
Good location. Lack of details. Towels are old with stains. Seems to be below Mariott standard.
Very clean, spacious rooms. the staff with extremely nice and valet was very convenient. The location is perfect for river street and the other tourist spots. This was my first time staying at courtyard Marriott and I will definitely stay again.
I wish that we could've made our checkout time later than 1pm.
Great value for the price Five minute drive to river street Extremely comfortable bedding The bathroom was comically small. Prepare yourself. I also didn't find the staff to be particularly helpful or friendly. On top of that, they were discussing work drama while we were trying to check in- highly unprofessional. I might as well have not been standing there for all the attention they gave me.
Some issues but Good Value for money; $89 a night; Nicely sized, appointed rooms with comfortable beds; decent bathrooms; clean; eager to please staff- the Housekeeping Manager cleaned our room herself when Housekeeping failed to do so. Stayed on the top floor (2d floor) and no elevators were available, so we had to drag our suitcases up an outside staircase in the heat, as it is a motel; Structurally, the room got a little warm late in the afternoon as the sun beat down on the roof, as if it wasn't insulated properly; no Continental Breakfast, even if it's advertised! The Breakfast consisted of a few Krispy Kreme Donuts. Unacceptable!
The Thunderbird was the cheapest hotel in Savannah and was perfect for me and my friend (both of us are college students on a budget). It's not in the center of the city, but it's close enough that we often walked back to pick things up or drop them off. It was clean, there were cute shampoo bottles, the staff was friendly. We'll definitely be back.
Staff was helpful, good location Frig did not work for entire stay abd staff was notified first day but they did give us a discount on room at check out.
As always, the Thunderbird was clean, convenient, and the perfect price. The staff was helpful, the hotel was very cool, and the convenience and cleanliness for the price is unbeatable!
The decor was awesome! The room was spotless and comfortable. We had the king suite and we just loved the room. We were so thrilled with our service that we found out the name of our maid before we left so we could leave her a nice tip. The phone did not work properly. Dialing nine was supposed to get an outside line but it never worked. You just got a busy signal when you started dialing your own number. Also the website and the folder in the room boasts a "deluxe" continental with hot food items. Three selections of krispy kreme donuts does not make a deluxe continental breakfast.
Room was clean, if sparsely furnished. Easy access to downtown and campus. Sink faucet was practically non-functional, slight trickle of water only. No toilet paper in bathroom. Sparsely furnished beyond beds and side table.
We liked EVERYthing about our stay. We could not have had a better time, or asked for better service. We will be back!!!
Very friendly & helpful staff. Good coffee & Krispy Kreme doughnuts in lobby. Fun decor. Comfy beds with clean bedding. Recycling bin in room. Thin walls- could hear street & neighbors. Too bright at night- needs darkening shades. Motion sensor in bathroom loud & annoying. Had to pay $7.50 a night to park in hotel's narrow parking spaces.
the location was awesome. the staff was excellent. some things you have to compromise on when you need to save money. this was the best value for the location and we didn't need anything super fancy. the room was "banged up". i'm guessing that's a very likely result from the many st patricks day celebrations.
They list limited free parking. What it should say is no free parking. There is a handful of paces shared by multiple buildings...the hotel has three lots that you have to pay $12 a day to valet your car. It's ridiculous. If I'm paying to stay at your hotel I shouldn't have to pay extra or worry about parking.
Great location, had a newly renovated room, quiet stay event though right across from elevators, nice staff at check in, clean hotel, nice bathrooms Smelled like paint and was strong right at first but eventually didn't notice it
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The valet staff was excellent. The room's shower head needed replace and the shower drain was very slow and could not keep up with the shower.
Nothing Everything! We booked a king and gave us a double! Hotel was extremley loud could not sleep what so ever!!!!
The bed was comfortable and the room had a nice view. My room was close to the elevator and you could hear the people getting on and off plus the elevator operation vibrated through the walls. Also, the shower head dripped
location is great Lobby bathroom was filthy.
Comfortable beds. Nice view. Extra fees for parking. Expensive breakfast buffet that was just average. Maids forgot to leave hand towels and washcloths.
The hotel itself is in a great location. Check-in was easy and parking was not too expensive although there is no self parking. The hotel is definitely old and way overpriced. We understand that it is a Hilton but for the price on a fairly average weekend I could've stayed even closer to downtown and probably had a newer and cleaner room.
