The location is exquisite with luxury and relaxation on tap. The beach is very private with swimming and watersports readily available
The staff were friendly, safety, the Italian restaurant was exellent. The location of the hotel is a little isolated, to go to the nearst town takes about 10 menutes by car. So,it is not convinient for those who like to go out. Also the concierge service is not accurate.
The room was really nice and the different accomodations (3 swimming pool and the fitness center free) The 5 restaurants were really poor comparing to the price they applied. The quality of food for a 5 stars hotel were really average and the price really expensive. The blue door restaurant was nice but sometimes I thought we had frozen food. The restaurants in Elounda (the town next door) were much more nicer than the one in the hotels.
The staff were extremely friendly and polite and the room was fantastic Only that our plunge pool was too cold to use
quait situation, view and location big diferens beetwin prises on food in hotel and outside
peaceful, quiet, good place to relax 1.The greek restaurant should have a cover for the raining days; 2.The rooms should have acoustic insulation; 3. Should have more variety of fruits at breakfast; L'orangerie restaurant is not good for the price, the service is uncoordinated and bad.
View from room, breakfast, beach and swimming area
Excellent place ! Much better than Elounda best hotels. Staff very helpful and kind. Very good cuisine. Beautiful design, quality facilities. Despite size of ca 250 rooms you feel like in a boutique hotel. Worth to come. Spa is rather dull: not to this hotel standard and undesftaffed.
Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere with extremely attentive staff.
we like location & beach, sea was on 5 *, massages & stuff in spa was good as well. Service very poor, nobody on arrival told us about brackfast area, or even facilities... lift to beach & restaraunts was terrible (hot without conditioner) and there is no other way... Spa was quite old & threadbare not for 5* hotel..
The service was out standing and we were upgraded to a room with a pool. Keep in mind this was in October and the weather was changing and it is a slow time of the year. We ate at the blue door, an outdoor café on the beach and the food was out standing. There breakfast buffet was out standing from Champaign to custom omelets. We also took a short walk to the next town, Plaka, for dinner and it was excellent and right on the beach also.
Mostly the location. They misrepresent the type and standard of the rooms for expample we reserved a bungalo. But what they call a bungalo is simply an ordinary double room and that we absolutely did not appreciate. And therefore would not return.
the top pool had room to sunbathe. staff favoured french communication. lack of air con in dining / public areas. absolutely no view from garden view room, this spoilt the holiday. useless broken gym facility.filthy under the bed. the accomodation was double the price it should have been
Excellent room, staff really friendly & very helpful None
The hotel was very good value for money, we only stayed 1 night, but wished we were there for longer, pleasant surroundings, set in lovely gardens
We loved this hotel. We stayed half board. lovely location, great value, pleasant food, friendly staff meant a relaxing stay for 3 days.
It was quiet and also convenient for Elounda I found the hotel very good, but there could be some improvement regarding a couple of the staff at reception.A smile does not hurt!
Quiet, friendly. Spacious. Ground floor room. Lovely pools. Access to sea. Very good food and wines. People smoking on adjacent balconies
The employees are really polite and and very pleasant. The swimming pools have a nice area and the hotel beach, even being stony, is great for snorkling. But I really recommend a car rental because there are many worth blue beaches close to Elounda. The hotel food is also really good.
Affordable price of room with half board, staff, internet facilities in the lobby at reasonable prices. Great value for money Not a sandy beach
Very Friendly and Relaxed Atmosphere.
The staff were very friendly and the animation team were very professional. Allthe restaurant staff worked very hard to ensure you werew attended to prompltly. The hotel is very datted and like most Greek accommodation flatters itself that it is a 4 star. There were no facilites in the rooms other than a fridge and the rooms were basic but adequate. The loication of the hotel is poor and it is 35 minutes walk to the resort and longer to come bacxk on roads without pavements.
service and surroundings
Only unique thing they have - children playground with nice lady speaking many languages (including Russian). Playground is between beach and restaurant. Price of room should be at least twice cheaper to be reasonable. This is very old hotel and despite they made all efforts to keep it in good condition it is impossible. It was impossible to get to our room with children trolley and 6 times a day we have to climb stairs with trolley in hand. But in general Elounda is very good prepared to go with trolley.
Excellent staff, facility and location
The place was beautiful and the sea was a pleasure. But what really impressed me was the kindness of the personnel, they really care for you and made their best to stay really pleasant They only thing to have in mind is that many suites that include a private Jacuzzi or pool at the terrace as saw in the pictures of the hotel do not have the privacy that someone might expect, in the sense that your pool or terrace can be perfectly viewed by anyone walking around. I'd recommend that if this is the case and you want more privacy, talk with the guest relations and ask for another one because with more privacy there are some.
the overall concept is nice. very relaxing. lovely private beach with trees details that I would expect in a 5 star hotel: more than one bin in the room, clean floors and windows in the restaurant, service at the beach at 10 am
Nice view, very friendly staff (reception a bit slow), room could be cleaner
Very peaceful and relaxing with excellent staff
Beautiful grounds. Large pool. Restaurant good. Our stay was too short to evaluate all aspects of property Room although comfortable, was a bit small & poorly lit at night. Not enough lighting.
room with a private pool not all the staff were friendly, beach towols are rather small in size and!!!!
Excellent service from a committed stuff. Excellent restaurant, booth food + service. There is simply not enough value for the money. Otherwise, the hotel stuff did its job excellent.
We had a great time at the All suites. The Six Senses Spa is very nice and the treatments and staff of the Spa were outstanding. The hotel itself had excellent restaurant staff and very good food! We really enjoyed the Calypso restaurant and the Old Mills restaurant at the sister Hotel Mare. Definitely the best Fish we've had in all of Crete! As good as the restaurant staff was, the reception/hospitality staff wasn't very good: arrogant and not very helpful. Additionally the hotel didn't seem to be entirely up and running in early May. The beautiful seaside bar, for example wasn't open yet.
Incredibly beatiful natural site, framed by mountains and overlooking a vast and quiet bay. My children spent the entire day, every day, in the sea, which was warm and spectacularly clear. Very relaxing, the ideal beach getaway.
Staff very kind and helpful, excellent location Too many steps for me ( I have a child 1 y and 4 m); no food from 16:00 to 19:30 - only room service.
the room i booked from booking was nt available and the hotel staff after seeing my reservation immediately upgraded the room free of charge.
location, comfort, food quality and price of the food compared to tourist restaurants in the area
very good hotel withgood service in the beach restaurant and the pool bar the room service tried to sheet us & to inforce us to pay unused drinks to far from every where
Lovely room, with semi-private infinity pool. Generally luxurious feeling, but at the same time not too expensive. The hotel is too far to walk into the center of Elounda for dinner. The in-house dinner buffet was excellent, but it might get monotonous.
very nice hospitality,peacefull enviroment
Great value for money to stay at Elounda, very close to all beaches and restaurants with a car or a moto (you need it anyway to explore the whole Lassithi area). A lot of shadowed parking spaces. Spacious room with nice lighting, big marble bathroom, powerful airconditioning. Excellent sea views from the room's balcony. Breakfast is buffet, not continental as advertised, and it's variation, quality and quantity is very good. Helpful and smiling people, they really make you feel like home. As you already understand, we'll definitely be back!
We liked the location, the staff & the view, since we've upgraded to a jounior suite, we enjoyed a joining swimming pool. Breakfast was poor in variety & freshness. There are only twin beds available (& they're too firm) no double king or queen size.
We loved the Villa. It was spectacular and the service of the staff was excellent. If this place was right on the beach it would be the perfect resort.
The hotel was in a good location. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we only found the shortcut to town on the second last day (although we didn't ask anyone either). Overall we were very pleased with the hotel and facilities and would go back again.
Hotel was well designed, the grounds attractive and well kept. we only booked breakfast, but that was good. All staff very helpful and friendly.we had a junior suit and shared pool, kept clean and was a pleasure to be there.Would we go back yes. Not really no.
nice hotel but not really design as you explain in the descriptif:the room furniture were really classic
The staff were very friendly, helpful, and went out of there way to make sure we had a great time either by making suggestions for things to visit, restaurant recommendations, or just helping us with small problems. The room was clean and modern, and we had a nice terrace looking out onto the sea. The location of the hotel was very good & the pool is a great relief. In the morning the pool area was quiet, but fills up in the afternoon as other guests come back from their travels 1. It was difficult to find the hotel, because the sign was small. The quality of the fruits and yogurt for breakfast could have been better. Only the 5 star hotels in Elounda have their own private beach, which would be nice instead of having to travel to the public beaches or the small hidden ones. At the end of the day, many guests come back to use the pool, but as soon as the sun sets you pretty much have the pool to yourself. For those who take the pension with meals, depending on when you eat, you may be watching people swim in the pool while you eat.
Very clean and a nice modern style. The bathroom was really fine. The aircondition was very effecient. Nice and quite surroundings It was a little far away from the beach 1 km away. It was not near to a town. As we had a car it was no problem.
a value for money hotel for this area which is mostly surrounded by expensive resorts.
Nice architecture, spacious room and bathroom, nice pool Overpriced because of Elounda area, awful aesthetics with plastic items in the room, no wi-fi working for 3 days (even in the lobby), very poor breakfast that reminds greek hotels of the 70's (cofee from the cofee machine!!!), breakfast area was very hot (!), balcony was shaking under the footsteps...
I enjoyed the view from the balcony Better cleaning services. To add also the lack of wifi internet access
The pool is excellent ; Hotel location is superb The room was clean ; however staff didn;t changed the sheets
The pool area was excellent but the pool bar was unattended usually, which created a long wait for some. The female receptionist was very indifferent.
location & friendley staff No tea or coffee making facilitys in the rooms and the tea served at breakfast was poor
Suite was exceptional, very good value for money. Facilities were outdated, breakfast was appalling. Receptionist attempted to con us on billiards charges at check out.
Just about everything. The best were the views from my balcony and the pool area. The pool area was set up quite well and the view of Mirabello Bay might be the best view from all the hotels around that area and that is saying a lot, considering the price of the other hotels.
Breakfast Internet access was not always available and wireless access didn't work. Inadequate lighting in the grounds at night - I fell down some steps.
Breakfast ok but needs bigger variety. You will need a car, as the better beaches are farther away. (2-8 km)
Nice room, good view over the bay.
The hotel was conveniently situated in the town with easy access to the center and the beaches. The air conditioning in my room did not work so I slept with the balcony door open. There is a main road outside the hotel and I was woken up most nights by loud traffic noises (2 stroke motor cycle engines especially) or people walking home from a night out talking to (shouting at) each other.
The lobby was very pretty as well as the pool area. I felt the food was very poor and the beds were unbearably hard. I just did not think for the price that it was worth the money. They need to do as much work in the rooms as they have done in the lobby. However, I have not liked Crete overall.
Hospitality of staff, food and service at the restaurant rooms are nor very modern
the front desk of the hotel were very obliging and friendly and went out of there way to offer additional service to me.
Staff friendly and rooms kept clean TV needs more UK stations and not just the boring BBC World
The sea view was delightful. The guest room was tired and badly in need of renovation. There were cracked tiles in the bathroom. The room stank of 'air freshener'. All in all it was hard to see how the hotel retained a four-star rating.
The location. Close to the main part of town and across the road from the beach. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. The hotel is in dire need of an update. The stucco ceilings and dingy dark hallways are totally depressing... The carpet needs ripping out... Probably hasnt been changed since the 70s!!!
Lovely little hotel in old part of city.
The welcome was warm and the view exceptional. Palazzo has all the amenities of a big hotel but the kind consideration and attention of a small family run hotel. Absolutely the best of both worlds!
It is charming, sparkling clean, and across the road from a lovely beach. The hotel staff (K. Dermatzakis and family) could not have been more welcoming and friendly. I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Agios Nikolaos. It is difficult to find because the streets of the town are narrow and one-way. Signage could be greatly improved.
Beautiful palace over the beach in the nicest part of Agios Nikolaos. Thanks to booking.com and the previous guests to help us find this place.
Excellent; Agios Nikolas is amazing and the Palazzo is the perfect apartment- by FAR!!! A South wind can blow out the beach in October- otherwise, perfect!
We were met by the owner, Manolis, who was expecting us. After showing us to our room, he brought fresh fruit and homemade raki. The room had a terrace on the harbor. The location was ideal. The breakfast was sumptuous and offerings were mostly home baked. A friendly and attentive staff tended to every need. None
Friendy and helpfull staff. Beautiful location and service provided.
Excellent location - near the town centre and the best town beach. Poppi the owner was so helpful and welcoming. The rooms are old-fashoned, very nice-styled. Great balcony view. Busy road downside, noisy dust cart every morning.
It is a lovely small family-run hotel. The owners were very kind and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit! They were very generous, eg providing use of the internet, being very flexible about unusual arrival and departure times. I highly recommend this hotel! Nothing
The location is excellent, right near the town centre, lake and small beach. The rooms are rather gloomy, and as one room was on the side, the so-called sea view was limited.
amazing view (sea view appartment) we did not have new towels every day
Distance from the beach Quality of breakfast
resort-like hotel perched upon the mountainside overlooking a stunning little bay outside Istron, beach at 2 minutes walk down a stairs among ficus trees and bushes. Free parking, pools, minimarket. Friendly staff, got offered a bottle of wine by the night-watcher to apologize for forgetting our wake-up call:) paid 68eur/night Food at the dinner buffet (12 eur) and breakfast wasn't so good (very fast food like). Wifi is not free (cheap though, 90min/5eur)
the quality of breakfast/dinner was very poor
