Room service is great, good private jetty, and good spa The swimming pool is under renovation , but it didn't mark on booking.com ,jacuzzi and steam room were out of service during our stay, private beach is too small.
Location and facilities were fantastic. Not quite the relaxing time expected. Plenty of families having lots of fun and making vibrant use of all of the activities / facilities.
Joined some hotel activities such as bird watching, cooking etc and played tennis. Relaxed at the swimming pool. Checking in/out is too slow. Reception staff are not so efficient. The Managers are very nice though.

Staff is always very friendly. Fantastic place to stay, with very comfortable rooms. The new spa (Chi) is great. Italian restaurant is quite expensive, while we did not think the food was very special. It missed the extra touch.
Paradise - had stayed at other Shangri-LA, Rasa Ria, and found Tanjung Aru to be equally wonderful.

The food, the service and the staff was all excellent and our rooms were great. We loved the hotel itself but we found the food, water and soft drinks way too expensive. Although there was a some live music in the bar at night, we would have liked some music or entertainment outside, perhaps on the beach or near the pools? We found that guests disappeared after dinner and we either went into town or had to go to our room to watch television.
Comfortable resort and very friendly staff. Tanjung wing rooms were clean and spacious with nice views. Food and drinks were expensive especially when compared to the local prices.

The location was good. Although Shangri La Tanjung Aru would have been just as good on hind sight. Regretted choosing Sutera Harbour. Initially given a supposed sea view room which actually had view of child pool and trees. We had to complain and they changed us. We had to trawl with all our luggage and child. On the last day of our stay we had no hot water and the electrcity blew out (didn't bother to fix this) because of a faulty iron which they provided. There was no iron or ironing board in our room when we arrived.

We had a great time. Club rooms and club amneties rock. The evening cocktail is something of very good quality.Location and overall property is awesome.. Old style tv even in the Club Rooms - Most of the Hotels have larger lcd screens now...Services at breakfast time in the lounge are extremely slow and the choice very limited...
The sea view and the convenient services hotel provided. I love staying in this hotel and this is not my 1st time staying. I am a bit disappointed because the room seems to be old and the window binding not in good condition. Toilet's room condition not very good.
Free hourly shuttle bus to and fro to KK town. Really convenient!! . Free WiFi service in the hotel lobby and the pool area. Good massage service but was slightly pricey. Spa staffs are very courteous. Nothing!!!
Close to city and islands. Good and tasty food. Knowledge of hotel staff poor.
I can use pacific facilites. It has many outdoor pool. It has too small private beach
convenience, next to the harbour, easy access to boats and islands pools were too basic, not deep. more for kids

Good location, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast selection and good facilities. At first we were given a poorly located room but this was changed without to many problems, the hotel food and drink is very expensive.

Fantastiskt trevligt poolområde som passar både vuxna och barn. 5 restauranger med varierande mat och inriktning. Vi hade 4 riktigt bra dagar här och kan varmt rekomendera detta ställe.
I wanted to change my itinerary and bring my hotel stay a day forward, from the 21st to the 20th. I offerred to pay the difference in rate if any. Hotel staff told me they cannot do that for me as booking was made via a third party. It was actually made via a fourth party as Kayak outsorced it to getaroom.com. The actual helpline indicated in the booking email (469-675-5368) was possibly run by a fifth party. They were utterly unhelpful with my request to change the booking date by a day, even though I did offer to pay any difference in price. Rigidly cited some sort of policy. I went back to the hotel staff in person and tey also continued to refuse to help. The consequence was that I had to book another hotel for the 20th, did not stay at Le Meridien on the 21st and my money was wasted. I will not be booking via Getaroom ever again and I will be avoiding Le Meridien.
The staff were excellent! MERC was a nice experience. We had a superb seafood meal - snorkelling was great - as was the kayaking. Being able to swim and snorkel from our room was a real experience - the kids would swim over to say hi! The drinks in the evening at the Latitude Bar was a really lovely touch. We had some really quality family time there - intimate, personal atmosphere. We would definitely return - and split our time between Bungaraya and Gayana. Our initial impression was a little disappointing - location superb, however we had not been given adjoining rooms as requested (travellling with a 12 and 16 yr old) and the 'breakfast delivered to your room by boat' was not available. Having said that, the management were very quick to respond- change rooms for us asap and provided the breakfast we wanted. The intimate, personal atmosphere was superb - we wanted to stay longer! Only other comment would be that the first morning, breakfast was really lovely - small buffet and a la carte. The next 2 mornings were not as nice - obviously problems with the chefs or something - menu not offered although we were able to order.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful island in front of Kota Kinabalu. Pros are:location, hotel staff, snorkeling in front of the hotel is very nice, possibility to go also to the other hotel, by a free boat ride, that offers a magnificient beach in the morning-afternoon for free, Marine center where you can go and touch some sea-stuff. Restaurants.:I read some comments about the restaurants being a bit expensive, Think to choose your own fish from reproduction thanks by having the menu in your hand and that is not expensive . Personnel was very efficient: because of a sudden noise to air conditioning in the room we were offered immediately to change room. You wonder if sometime in an Eco marine resor, waters could be a little be cleaner, but when we and currents arrives this happens. Room prices are a little bit on the high side,
Wonderful location, excellent service from happy, friendly staff. Lovely pool that is good for swimming - not just a "leisure" pool. freshly cooked breakfast on the veranda delivered by boat! The arm chairs in the room are really uncomfortable.
Beautiful nature and view. The cottages are clean and nice. Loved that many fishes and birds can be seen, quiet and only sounds of cicada is around. Great for relaxing. Food was over-priced, not many choices for long stay. As the access to mainland is difficult, would be nicer if there are more choices and local dishes available.
The hotel had not received our booking so we had to email them out confrmation mail. Our room was dirty. Hotel staff seemed uninterested in service.

Ta new hotel so everything was great, the staff were friendly and helpful, room was very clean and comfortable and the buffet breakfast and dining room were really good although very busy also there was a free shuttle to airport ( though it only goes at certain times) the pool and gym also looked pretty good although we didn't use. Too far from city - outside the hotel you are stuck in a shopping mall, doesn't look like much else was around unless you catch a taxi or bus, but if shopping is your thing you will like this place (shopping in a mall was not our thing). The hotel is really nice but it would be better in the city!

stayed for 4 days end of jan and had good overall experience.decent room ,clean very polite and helpful staff.breakfast was good with lots of choice.the location is 7km out of centre which is my only issue,it costs 60 ringitt return and obviously adds up if you go there once or twice a day,for me l would probably recommend only a few days for that reason,although there are shops and cafes all around the more upmarket ones are in the centre.

the hotel staff is excellent, from housekeeping, cleaner, waiters, cooks to front offiice - everyone is excellent. Warm food is actually served warm - fantastic! Good choice of breakfast! hotel architecture and design are okay, but hotel esp room construction and layout are poor. Room is small, no place to walk around or pray for muslims. Doors and shower door dont close properly, bathroom door inconvenient and if not careful you or your kid could get locked in. Every corners are sharp - sink, shelves etc. Not a hotel for young children.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. the breakfast buffets were superb. the situation was fine - at the enormous shopping mall some distance from the centre of kota kinabalu, but there was a free shuttle bus in and out...restaurants a-plenty were to be found in the mall. no

location in the heart of the city, clean room & functioning facilities request for extra bed not fulfilled (staff forgot), wrong morning newspaper delivered despite reminder previous evening, reception staff was not helpful when I wanted to extend stay - asked to reapply online outside of hotel (time was 10.00 pm, nearest cybernet facility a kilometre away)
It is very near to the shopping mall and eateries places. It is easily access to airport too. The room maybe a bit small as we have 2 adults and 2 children. Once the extra bed is in, the room becomes quite cramp. If the hotel provide spa programs, that will be perfect.
Gaya Centre is a new hotel in operation only five months. It has an excellent location on the seaside with great ocean views on one side of the hotel and city on the other. There is a large new shopping mall cinema complex across the street still only partially occupied. The rest of the city is only a short walk away. Services are basic hotel services. The facilities are new therefore modern and in excellent condition.Free Internet in the room is on cable only but works very well. The oceanside promenade is across the street and provides easy access to markets of various kinds. The terminal for boats going to island parks and beaches is only a few blocks away. In general, everything you need is easily accessible. There is very little negative to say about this hotel. They seemed to be having some problem with the room key cards that seemed to quit functioning each day so you had to get them reset and they didn't seem to be able to reset them for the duration of the stay - a minor annoyance. Front desk staff were very pleasant and worked hard to please but seemed at times to be uneasy with what they were doing, perhaps due to lack of experience with a still new system.
I connected internet cable to the port on the wall, but still could not get internet line...??
