They bought an old garden apt complex and opened it as Marriott too soon. This is not yet Marriot. Not even close.
They have a great buffet breakfast and good location Small bathroom, had construction going
The room was new and up to date. There was one trash can in the room and it took me a while to find it. Their were no cups in the bathroom.
We have stayed there many times before. It was being totally being rentravated. Noise all the time. Not at all like ad presented it.
Good breakfast! Quiet location. Laundry not available. The clubhouse was being remodeled. Should be done mid-February.
Breakfast, main guest house Older than photos show, Room furniture is old and worn, AC didn't work in the first room we were put in, it sounded like the persons above us were going to fall thru the roof because of a weak floor

Rooms where nice, staff was amazing Construction ongoing, room smelled like cigarettes, the layout of the room was bad.. there was a sliding door with a couch in front of it

The mattress was very uncomfortable, did not sleep good at all. The mattress was very old and woke up with a soar back both nights. We booked another hotel the third night because of this. And the sofa sleeper was even more of a joke i felt bad letting my three year old sleep on it. No fan in the restroom, phone did not work, no sheets or pillows for sofa sleeper, a/c was not working and the tv cable was super slow it was almost like it was buffering or running on dial up internet. Book another hotel even if your spending a little more because you will probably be disappointed.
I really enjoyed my stay, they were able to accommodate my early check in request which gave me ample time to rejuvenate and explore the town before peak traffic. Hotel is fairly priced, my room was very clean, comfortable, quite and lots of parking. I'll definitely stay again if I'm ever in the area again. Not able to stay longer at this beautiful place.
Room next door's TV was on and the noise could be heard through the walls. We think they fell asleep with the TV on so the noise went on the rest of the night.
Room is clean friendly staff
free parking. Why is there no breakfast included. It's not all about making money sometimes.
Liked the room. View was beautiful. Didn't like paying for parking and getting a 100 fee that they say is mandatory after paying 170 for a room that was very pricy,
House keeping staff are friendly and quick at preparing the room. Check in staff was friendly and it was a quick process. Clean room with a lot of space and giant mirror, balcony and fridge. The fitness center is a small room with mainly cardio machines. Please add some free weights. The elevators, vending machine and ice are located in just one area of the hotel; my room was literally 88 rooms away from them. The bathroom next door had a pipe issue that would make a huge noise every time the guest was using it and woke me up several times at night and in the morning. At check out, the front desk lady was in a hurry and unfriendly (I didn't catch her name but she was red headed with eyeglasses).
I didn't get the room I reserved, I paid for ocean view room and I got a street view room
I loved the all around look and feel of the hotel. It was clean, the staff was hospitable, and the room was amazing. Parking in the parking garage was an additional $125 for the 5 nights I stayed and was not disclosed when booking the hotel.
Nice staff. Some rooms can be quite an extended walk from the elevators.
Room service and housekeeping had the best customer service at of whole hotel! It looks like a hospital. No one greets you or shows that they want to be of service. I was looking forward to a bath after long conference and when turning on the water a huge clump of hair came out of drain and killed it for me.
View Could not change reservation when plans changed. Awful
We had a very nice stay and will return in the future. Our son and family were also there and we all found the hotel to be helpful and attentive to our needs. The location is great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found the staff to be very helpful and willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were happy. 5 stars. We also did NOT like the parking fees, but with that the only negative it's not such a big deal.
Coffee machine in room but no ceramic coffee cups provided to use it. Told per IHG platinum member could not use club room with free breakfast because rewarded with bonus points.
The staff was courteous. The bedroom was clean. There was work being done on another room and when walking the hall it smelled weird.
I like to cleanliness and comfort level of the bed. I also used the gym and it was relatively clean in there as well and that's about where it ends. The first thing when we walked in the room you could tell it hadn't been vacuumed entirely and there was a white towel slightly stuck to the floor in the corner next to the couch. Next was the tiny pool in the middle of the entire hotel. It only received sun light for a few hours in the day so it was chilly to get in even on a warm 80+ summer day. Then the elevator went out for some reason. I guess it was just unfortunate for my family and I that we had a room right next to the elevator and the stairs were about 100+yrds from our room. Then the sink water stank like rotten eggs/sulfur and when I brought it too the front desk receptionist's attention she just said, "I will make a note for the plumber to check it out after you leave."
Room was nice and beds were super comfy Had a room cleaned and the cleaners dumped out multiple ash trays or dirty water in out bathroom sinkand left it like that, not such a clean place to brush your teeth after that.
Comfy bed Tv was not high def...bad picture
It was a typically good Courtyard property The room furnishings were fine but could use an update
Bathroom clean AC/Heat very loud
Hotel Erwin is perfectly located on Venice beach, the staff is excellent, restaurant serves excellent breakfasts, nothing to complain about.
The tiny sign on the door entrance in the corner.. Stating that there were chemicals in the building from which you could get cancer from.. Was not clear when I book the hotel that the building is a health risk.
We stayed here with a couple friends for a birthday weekend celebration. Jesenia was really nice and calles us when we were able to check in early. The rooms were great. My cousin checked in early but didn't get the king bed she booked. So later she called Jeff and was able to get a better room. A suite! The rooftop lounge during the day was great. The bartenders was nice. At nighttime, the waitress we had was btichy. The lounge areas were nice but even for hotel fuests we had to reserve on opentable.com. the problem was we had a big group. They provide blankets so thats a plus but we didn't stay up there long. Lastly, Valet/parking was $32!
The hotel is realy gret. Great staff, wonderful instalations..... So I really could live there. The price and the cost to park, once the garage is inside the building of the hotel.
We were planning to have our short, informal ceremony on the beach and then enjoy the rooftop; but, our view was so amazing, we had our ceremony right on our patio deck! Also, when I mentioned to Billy that we were getting married that day, he sent a bottle of champagne to our room! Unbelievable guest service! We will recommend the Erwin to friends & family.
We loved the new and greatly designed rooms, as well as the young atmosphere of the hotel. The rooftop bar will take off - it is a great place. We will be back! The staff needs some more time together to make everything run smoothly. But they were always very nice and friendly - thanks for a great time with you!
Miguel was fabulous and helped us in many ways, he went above and beyond. The entire staff was friendly and helpful The music on the roof did keep us up, and the ear plugs cost money
the suite was awesome! The rooftop bar was great. Blankets were clutch. Friendly staff!
Great location, very new, and very nice staff! Perfect place in Venice.
The closeness to the beach and water and how close we were to Venice beach all the interesting people and places we saw was just amazing can't wait to come again The only thing I didn't really like was the view from our room
It was close and convenient to my son who lives in Venice. Stayed there in Dec. in the newer rooms on the top floor which was much nicer than the room I had this time. Also, I think the 6th. floor room was about the same price as the room where I was this time.(5th floor) Yes, I opened the sliding door during the night for some fresh air. It was difficult to sleep because of the noise(homeless sleeping in the alley) that my room overlooked.
Was given great upgrade; rooftop is fantastic Absolutely everything was great!
Good exercise facility, good location for me (close to the company I visit). Self-parking is nice. Many hotels in this area have the "hidden fee" of parking charges, up to $30 per night. Where to begin. First off, the hotel is getting very old. The rooms are fundamentally small compared to more modern hotels. To the point that the bathrooms are very small. The vanity is tiny, and the only place for towel storage is within the shower (at the back). Also, the mirror had some strange black stains on it. Second bad thing was the "view". My room was at room level for another part of the hotel, so when you opened the sliding door, you were actually on the roof. And the view (other than looking at roof) was a wall. Maybe a roof and a wall wouldn't have been too bad, but throw in the 4 or 5 satellite dishes and it was pretty unattractive. OK, so pull the blinds and keep them closed. Except here's the worst part of all... The A/C unit sounded like a small dump truck at idle and hardly cooled at all. So to keep the room tolerable, I had to open the sliding glass door. But because you could walk in right off the roof, I had to close it every time I left the room, and then the room got hot and stuffy. I'm an HHonors member, and I try to be loyal to Hilton branded hotels, but this one makes it tough.
Excellent service and clean rooms. Also free self parking.
We had been assigned a room in the lower tower... Not sure is that my room is booked in a discount rate.
Hotel was convenient to LAX. Like the openness of the room with balcony. Room was very clean and facilities good. Also lobby had a nice open, bright and fresh feel to it. Found the reception staff to be quite mediocre. Didn't go out of their way to be helpful, both at check-in and check-out.
The location was good and the facilities were OK. The staff was very good and friendly. As a Hilton member I did not expect to put in a room with the smallest bathroom I have ever stayed in at a Hilton Hotel. The bed was way to soft and I woke up with a terrible back pain. The room was number 310 and I would hope that Hilton members would get better treatment than I received.
The staff was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the area. Room was very clean. Bedding was very comfortable. Room service was fast and surprisingly affordable. Hotel is next to shopping, dining, movies and short drive to the beach. N/A
The staff was friendly and, for the most part, helpfull except what is described below. The free warm cookies were just terrific. This hotel is beginning to show it's age. Several (4) minor issues were reported to the staff and only one was resolved. In addition, the billing was excessive and we had to correct it before we checked out.
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANY TRAVELER LOOKING FOR A GREAT HOTEL TO STAY AT A DECENT PRICE.
I loved the living room area with a bar, microwave, and refrigerator. The beds were excellent and comfortable - loved the bed spread. I didn't really like the shower it was hard to keep the curtain inside so a lot of water escaped outside toward the toilet. Maybe have a slightly higher shower rim instead of a low one or even a tub/shower combo?
I loved when I walked in the environment felt like I was in an expensive hotel. When we reached the room that's when everything surprised me. From when I unlocked the door. I loved the room set up. The couch with the chase attached. I fell in love with the beds it really made me feel like I spend so much on my room. I love the bathroom and kitchen area. Breakfast was great and the staff was eager to help. I will definetly come back over and over. Their was only one thing I did not like that when I was about to shower it had hair on the walls and on the floor.
I Really Like This Hotel Because It Has a Kitchen w/ a Full-Size Fridge and It's Nice and Quiet
This is probably the best kept secret in LA's South Bay area. We stayed at the Doubletree (nice) and the Queen Mary (deluxe state room) and wished we'd stayed at the Staybridge. Great rooms and great location. Peaceful, quiet, and close to everything. We'll be staying here on all our future trips to the LA area.
Nice suite with plenty of room .Nice pool area. Breakfast buffet was adequate.Stayed Sat. & Sun. night. Got there earlier than scheduled check in and the surly desk clerk kept us waiting for over an hour for a room even though there were plenty available.
The hotel was being renovated when we stayed, which led to limited rooms and us being put in a smoking room despite requesting otherwise. However, the room ended up being fine. The rooms are large, obviously intended for an extended stay, and everything was clean. the furnishings are clearly in need of updating, however. We didn't use the continental breakfast, although it looked fine. The hotel is quiet- set back from the road and solidly built- so we enjoyed a good night's sleep.
A very nice place to stay. We requested to be away from families with kids & they gave us a quiet room.
This was our second visit to this location. We love that it is central for the activities we have planned. And, with young kids, it is great to have a suite with a bedroom away from the main tv area and we love a main floor entrance to our room. The carpets are dirty (seems to be common at our price range) and we had an ant problem any time we sat food/beverages on the counter. The staff and food was great but we had a couple of issues with housekeeping. We love being on the main floor but the stairs to the upper levels are wood and located directly outside the bedroom window which can be loud. Overall - I would still recommend it for a young family on a budget.
I had an excellent experience at this hotel. The room was perfect, very clean, very large. It was equivalent to a one bedroom apartment, the sofa had a pull comfortable foldout bed and the kitchen even had cookware & dishes! (a wonderful home away from home). The bed was very comfortable. The pool and hot tub were great, the grounds are very well maintained and pretty. The breakfast was awesome! (Not just rolls & coffee), Each morning the cooks prepared a delicious spread that included eggs, meats, fresh fruits, and plenty of breads, make your own waffles and cold cereals. AND they even had a wonderful dinner (this was a Huge surprise!) They served complimentary beer & wine with our night meals also. The staff was very helpful and friendly. This place is also conveniently located to all that I wanted to see and do in the Los Angels area, easy access to all highways. My family and I really can't say enough about how wonderful this place was and I highly recommend it for any family for a l...
My husband stayed here on our visit to the LA area during the Christmas holidays. Check-in was quick even though there were others ahead of me when I came in, front desk was friendly. The room was comfortable. My one criticism was that, when we checked in, the desk clerk told us that there would be free breakfast served the following morning. I questioned him, 'even though it will be Christmas morning?'. He emphatically replied, 'Yes.' On Christmas morning at 8:30 am, we walked into the breakfast area expectantly only to see nothing, not even coffee. No explanations were given.
Enjoyed our stay. Close to mall, restaurants, beaches, and freeway. Nice room with breakfast everyday. Would stay here again.
This was a very nice hotel with great common areas. Everything about this place felt fresh and clean!
I checked into this hotel around 8pm. It was lovely!! The guy that helped me R was fast, informative, and efficient. I was checked in within a matter of minutes! My room was phenomenal, a kitchen, a living area w/ couch, and the most comfortable bed ever! Except for the fact that the people above me making way too much noise(throughout the nite my first nite, and half the nite on the second), and I found out I was in a smoking section, I would've been quite content where I was. However, I did make a call to the front desk to request being moved; and there was an issue trying to get me into a new room so I was asked to call in the am for the Manager--the second nite. Can I tell you how glad I was to find; not the Manager, who was running late; but a very helpful lady named S,who took care of everything. She put me into the first available suite, which happened to be a MAJOR upgrade! I was so stunned and impressed at the concern shown for me and my comfort during my stay. Even the clea...
Great Value for the price, very comfortable and clean rooms.
The staff was fantastic and friendly
Rooms need a rebuild, everything seemed so old, bathroom was squashed. Definitely not female business traveler comfort.
Good size room, tidy and quiet Having to pay an extra fee for parking
My husband and I had a fabulous stay at the Marina del Rey Hotel. Our room had a amazing view of the marina, was very well appointed and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to that part of LA.
Ambiance was great from the beachy/sea vibe in the lobby with the "flying" seagull sculptures hanging from the ceiling a wonderful scent machine in the lobby that makes you feel like you are at the beach. Very romantic setting at the outside bar complete with couches and fire pits. Beds were super comfortable. $30/day for valet parking is a bit steep when there is plenty of parking around the hotel. Give an option for people to park their own cars, even if you have to charge a fee.
The remodel is first class. The front desk service was fine. The dining was terrible. Slow inattentive service, overdone steak, raw salmon, overpriced.
We loved the view, facilities, great beds and location of the hotel. No complaints.
Vibrant lounge with a nice view of the marina. $30 valet only parking option!! Weird odor in the room
clean & comfortable some of the lights didnt work, like the vanity mirror in the bathroom. the tv wasnt in HD..wifi also scared me cuss it might charge $11.99 ice machine on our floor was broken as well.
Rooms, bathrooms and hotel need to be remodeled.
The hotel looked as though it had been remodeled fairly recently. It was well designed and had a very cozy great room/lobby with a fireplace and a bar. The rooms were large, clean and very nice. We had an amazing ocean view and the front desk upgraded us for free. The restaurant across the parking lot is part of the hotel and was delicious. It was a great place to spend our 6 year anniversary.
Valet attendants were great Front desk employess very very very careless and non hospitable
Location Parking and amenities fee
Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice and the views are just breath taking on ocean side Marina side room by parking lot on 1st floor. They need to build that up with plants for privacy. People walking by looking in, noicey from people and cars. We had the staff move us to another room or we were leaving. They almost lost a week long customer when all it would take are some trees, hedges and plants for privacy. You can't see the marina anyways from the 1st floor
The room was spacious and had a wonderful view of the ocean. Very nice staff. Room was very close to outside pool and jacuzzi and had to listen to people in the jacuzzi talking until midnight.
Stayed here at the tail end of our honeymoon. Beautiful in-room finishes, modern yet charming. Ocean view rooms with views of a colony of cute barking sea lions, complete with sailboats passing by! Spectacular. Would stay again.
We love this hotel and this was our second stay in 4 years. We love everything about it and the staff is exceptionally friendly and wonderful. The only complaint was this was booked through Kayak and we booked a "Premier Oceanfront Room King Bed". It was confirmed and stated on our confirmation in three different places. Upon arrival, they had us booked in a double bed oceanfront room (not premier which is the 2nd and 3rd floors and not a king bed) and they were adamant that was what Kayak booked us in. When we showed them the printed confirmation from Kayak they gave us the Premier Oceanfront King on 2nd Floor. Anyone booking through Kayak should absolutely call the hotel to confirm what they show you are booked in prior to arrival as obviously there are some issues there when booking through a third party like Kayak.
Had to pay extra for parking, breakfast and Internet. Internet starting dropping every 20 mins one day even after paying. Lost my dry cleaning for three days. The phone did not work and I had to tell the front desk three to four times before it was fixed. The gym is tiny. For this price surely these should not be issues.
The lobby and seating area are lovely and a nice place for a quick breakfast or glass of wine in the evening. The room categories are misleading: the hotel is behind a breaker wall and therefore on a canal not oceanfront.
We loved the very cosy 'livingroom' bar with fireplace and live music....and Baleen, the restaurant and bar, also with live music was very nice!
The location was nice for what I needed and the cleaning staff delivered anything we asked for quickly and were very friendly. The manager has absolutely no customer service skills. I was charged an extra night that I did not use and she REFUSED to speak to me about the charge. I understand if I did something wrong but at least have the customer appreciation to talk to me. There was a clog in our shower from hair. Another group's shower knob freely spun so they were unable to change the temperature of their showers. I won't stay at a Ramada Inn again.
Everything was as advertised. Great location and friendly staff.
Get longer curtains.
Location, price, breakfast, cleanliness, staff. Nothing
Location to beach and restaurants. Also great staff and very clean and comfortable rooms !
It was 10-15 mins from the beach waterfront. The customer service was friendly. The room we stayed in had no phone signal connection and it was on the first floor. The rooms were outside of the main building and the lower level is where we had no signal and had to step around to get a connection
Quiet, decent breakfast, and near a number of good restaurants. Gym is limited - few machines, no free weights.
It was convenient to where I was working. The room was dark and the lighting poor. I had a view out of my window of a wall. It was clean enough to my liking. No one bothered to ask how my stay was when I left. Parking was
This hotel is located centrally to shopping , dining, and the beach. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quite nicely appointed. The pool is especially nice. The only thing I can even think of that could have been improved on is that the ice maker is on the 1st floor. That's a little inconvenient if you're trekking all the way from the far end of the 3rd floor.
The breakfast was really nice, one of the best continental breakfasts I've had at a hotel - everything you could possibly want including hot dishes that tasted freshly made. Always very clean and breakfast room staff were very polite. The pool area was nice, unfortunately it was just too cold when we were there to enjoy it. Located close to the beach and a number of nearby restaurants and other shopping. The room we were in was supposedly a Queen with a sofa bed, but it was more like a Full with a sofa bed. My 3-year old didn't care about the comfort of the sofa bed, but an older kid might have been pretty uncomfortable on the thin mattress. Also, we had a few ants in the bathroom - might be a hard thing to control with 1st floor rooms in a warm climate?
The BWP was extremely clean and felt comfortable. I enjoyed the layout of the room and the furnishings. The breakfast that was included was worth it. Not to mention the front desk was friendly and helpful. The pool was so small and the weight room wasn't very big at all. But this wasn't a big deal at all.
I was very impressed with this hotel. I rarely write reviews, but I was so impressed that I thought about writing one while I was still there! The pool was nice and clean and I wished that I'd had more time to enjoy it. So too was the spa. The breakfast was a complete breakfast that I could last all day on! Everything in the room was also nice, clean, and comfortable, and there was so much more I didn't get to take advantage of. Also it is in walking distance to the beach. The business center was well equipped and in good working order. The staff was nice and friendly.
Not much The price of almost 200/night got me motel 6 like accommodations.
Rooms are huge and in great shape. Refrigerator and microwave in each room. Good breakfast and the hotel is being updated / refreshed.
This is the second time I've stayed at Redac and it was great. The rooms were clean and stocked with fresh towels and hygiene products. Also the location isn't far from Los Angeles, in a fairly quiet neighborhood. I'll be staying there in the future when i visit the area again.
my wife loves the japanese setup
plenty of parking spots, windows can be opened slippery bathtub, strong smell of carpet cleaner in hallway
Hotel staff was outstanding; from valet, front desk & concierge all the way through to pool attendants, room service and bell desk.
I can't begin to find words to express how much we enjoyed our stay at the Marina del Rey Ritz Carlton! We arrived on a Wednesday morning with a sick child. The staff immediately took charge helping to get us situated with a room and going so far above and beyond ensuring that our stay was enjoyable. From the person who greeted us to take our luggage, to the valet, to the front desk staff to the wait staff in the restaurant and the gift shop (which opened up for us to get us meds in the middle of the night) to the manager who followed up even after we had left their hotel, every layer was kind, attentive and fantastic! They honestly made us feel like we were at home with family who was concerned about us. What a fantastic experience! T
Nice place, but not worth the Ritz premium. I would stay at the JW Marriott in Santa Monica next time I'm in the area.
I liked that the hotel was near the water, close to a concert I was attending. I booked this hotel because they had balconies and it was near the water. The balcony was closed due to renovations. The bath tub was small , hotel was a little outdated. Not as special as a experience as I was hoping for
I like the avalibiliy of the staff For a younger crowd in there 25-30 age it's not an appeasing hotel it's more for older crowd like 50-60 so for me being a pro Olympic athlete and being 23 yrs old I didn't enjoy it that much
Staff is great, and generally a very nice hotel. Doesn't live up to our expectations based on previous experiences at other Ritz hotels. It feels tired, not as luxurious as others, and is starting to show some age without upkeep. A simple example would be the pool has cracked tiles and feels rundown.
Marina Totality , needs upgraded , bathrooms , amenities , need more restaurants .
the location room service food. the french soup was disgusting. There was also no glasses in the room. time it took to get the food valet parking took 15 mins to get our car
Service Rooms not ready for check in
Room was nice and clean Parking for $37, valet only was a rip-off!
The service and staff were great - hotel is very nice!
Parking fee not included in stay
The place was grungey- several lights and outlets did not work. The towels were gray. Even worse, this place felt totally unsafe; even the key card read "Do not open the door without checking the person's identification. Report suspicious people". For 87$ you could stay at a much nicer place.
Owner was very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and had plenty of space to unpack and walk around without running into furniture. There was free wifi available and a good amount of channels to watch on the large flat screen tv. It was definitely an upgrade from a previous visit to California and it was only $10 less than this hotel. Glad that I spent the extra few dollars because I had a much better experience with this location. Parking lot was a little small to pull in and out of spaces but it was manageable. The shower didn't have much pressure so it was a little difficult to wash my thick hair. Overall the negatives really are not so big that it takes away from the positives of this hotel. I would highly recommend this establishment and will most likely be staying again next time I visit California.
I liked that there was a refrigerator and a microwave in the room. The room looked clean. The room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. There was a hole in one of the blankets.
Nothing It was dirty, old, and like a roadside motel 6 for over $100. Absolutely TERRIBLE!!
The price was reasonable. Everything was satisfactory.
I enjoyed every aspect of this hotel.. the check in process was very quick. Our room was spotless and the maid service was excellent. The continental breakfast was very good and organized. . It included waffles ,fruit , cereal, pastries coffee and lots more.. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It's convenient to all of Torrance. .
The price of the room was quite satisfactory, less than $100 a night. Torrance is definitely not a sightseeing location, but that's not why I stayed there. The surrounding neighborhood is also relatively clean and safe. If you're staying in the area for business purposes and don't intend to spend too much time in the hotel itself, then I have no problems recommending this hotel. In fact, I do plan on staying there in the future for just that reason. The room I stayed in had ants, not a lot of ants marching in formation; rather, just a few ants here and there in the bathroom, along the walls, etc. I didn't have any open bags of food or sweets lying around, so I was wondering what they were looking for, especially in the bathroom. I didn't keep anything in the bathroom at all. Also, the continental breakfast did not have any meat or cooked food at all. It's just cereal, cook-your-own waffles, bread, and ready-to-eat pastries. Finally, there's no washing machine at all. So if you stay there long, you'll need to hop on over to the local laundromat to wash your clothes there.
