Location in center of town for shopping, quiet & clean. The buffet was overly priced for a family
Railroad was a great experience! It was a fun way to spend the day, meet people and see the Grand Canyon! Housekeeper knocked at 8 and woke us up on a day we were not checking out and planned to sleep in. Had to call numerous times to get handicapped room guaranteed before arrival. Pool looked very dated and unappealing, even to my 8 year old. The buffet at the cafe was way overpriced and travelling with a friend in a walker-we had no other options. No room service. Room not cleaned at all on second day.
I loved the location and the look of the hotel. The staff was very helpful. The room was clean and the bathroom was very large and very comfortable. As for the hotel, it was great. But the food in the buffet was not good at all. The foor was bland, and not very much of it. We left more food on the plates than we ate. Hated to waste the food but it was that bad. We ordered foor from Spencers which is the hotel bar and grill, and the foor agai had little taste, and a pasta diner was placed in a cardboard box with no liner between the food and the box. Tacky for sure and took away from the taste of the pasta.
It was a clean hotel but very busy
Great atmosphere, Grand Canyon experience. No
The Polar Express Experience Spencers Cafe - excellent cuisine with impeccable service & great atmosphere
We liked the concept of the hotel. We arrived in off-season, so it was quiet. Located near some useful amenities, like a Safeway. We joked while walking down a hallway to our room that the hotel very much reminded us of the hotel in The Shining (may have been the off-season quiet and the remote location that added to that feeling). Wasn't a big fan of the very limited menu in the lounge. Poor TV reception and no flat sceen tv's (it's 2010??). I wish we had better planned the timing of our trip to take advantage of the railroad and train that takes visitors to The Grand Canyon. Disappointed we couldn't do that.
The price was great, the rooms were clean, and it is conveniently located near the train depot to get to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. The staff could have been a little more warm and friendly.
We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, the food and service in Spencer's Pub, and the very clean bathroom. The location was also pleasant and interesting. We did not enjoy the very murky water in the pool and the lack of any hotel staff or security staff in this area. While we were swimming,a teen kept one of the outside doors open while smoking, blowing smoke directly into the nonsmoking pool area while chatting with his group. This area needs to be monitored. Additionally, the floor in the towel room was dangerously slick with water and several people, including myself, narrowly missed taking a fall there. The lack of internet availability in the rooms was also a problem, though I was well aware of it in advance because I read other people's reviews as well as the hotel description.
convenient to grand canyon
We loved the charm of the old style hotel. Shared bathrooms were not a problem for us. Do note that the front desk is not 24 hours, but that thr staff were fantastic enough to stay open latefor us. Very convenient to shops and food. About 1 hour from the Grand Canyon. Be warned that route 66 is divided through town. Hard tomspot the hotel since it lacks the bright lights of chain hotels. Easier to spot from about 1 block west going on rt 66 east.
The staff are super friendly and the rates were great. Everything on the main drag is within walking distance. The hotel was cozy, clean, quiet and updated. Short hour or so drive from Grand Canyon and even shorter drive to Bearizona. Nothing.
It is located in the historic Route 66 area so it was close to shops and restaurants. The clerk at the front desk was AWESOME. The hotel needs a renovation desperately! The decor is dated. The rooms smell musty. The shower felt like you were stepping into a cave. The outdoor pool was small but nice. The hot tub was located down the hall inside. It needs to be retiled. Considering the cost of other hotels in Williams this was just ok for the money.
The room was clean, the hotel in a prime location. will definitely stay there again the next time i'm in williams
The Travelodge staff does a great job of making the facilities clean and affordable. For an area that hasn't seen new construction in decades this location is about as good as you can expect. The swimming pool was closed for the season in March. But otherwise it was a great affordable motel.
Clean, location close to shops and restaurants. We took our kids to the Polar Express. Travelodge was great location and free breakfast made it even a better value! Staff was very friendly. We would stay here again!
nothing It is just an hotel to stay the price is to high compare to the quanlity of the hotel, the cleaness!!!
Overall room was clean and staff was nice. Good location. Would recommend to friends and family. Would stay there again. Night stand drawer was not clean, empty chip bags left in drawer. Stayed in smoking room and was not allowed to smoke medical marijuana in room or outside of room. A legal medical marijuana card holder should be allowed to smoke there medicine. Better coffee choice and access to sugar and creamer would be nice. Also earlier check in time by hour or two would of been better.
Beds were too soft which contributed to a sore back
It was clean and cheaper than staying at the grand canyon national park. The pool was dirty - full of insects.
It was only an hour away from Canyon . The town was nice small and fun. It's literally just a room to stay in. Don't expect things to be clean, the breakfast was laughable and bed uncomfortable.
the village of Williams is à good example of an old town. Very Nice atmosphere. This helped for the rating of this hotel. Breakfast was very poor as there was No bread with jam, but only cereals and muffins.
close to grand canyon at a reasonable rate no
Hotel Employee was the best.. Due to to poor weather conditions, she helped us with plan A, B, C and D... just a little disappointed that there was no ghostly visit...
It is warm and personal. I feel like a guest in a relative's home instead of a travellor in a hotel.
Historic and very nicely maintained. There are several bars nearby that play loud music well into the night. This did not make for a restful sleep. Also, it's listed as a B&B... The breakfast was in the form of a voucher towards a limited menu at the restaurant next door.
Personal attention. Location.
So much charm and character
Yes; the rooms were so nicely decorated and in keeping with the period of the Old West. The bed was comfortable, baths nice, and staff absolutely great. John was so friendly and informative about our questions. We loved the town! Everything was perfect!
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
Great location and staff. Excellent period decoration and available books about area available. good referral to Red Raven Restaurant
Quaint atmosphere. Room was very cleanStaff was pleasant. Air conditioner did not work well. Outside temp was above 90 degrees. Water pressire and temp very low. Some loudness from bar next door . Balcony barely fit 2 chairs and faced the restaurant exhaust system
Love that it maintains its historical character. John is a great host.
Perfect place to stay if you want your imagination to be inspired while in the SW. People were super helpful. Room was funky. NA
beds were comfortable old and smelly
Room was acceptable for a overnight highway stop Pool was dirty. Breakfast was woeful. Waffles, white bread, and Raisin Bran.
Good location, friendly desk staff The climate control does not have a thermostat, so it is difficult to regulate the temperature. The towels were ragged and scratchy. The breakfast was meager. For the price (around $100/night) I expect better quality. I would not stay here again.
Facility looks neat and clean. Close to freeway with easy access. Wifi was very weak and spotty. Difficult to find a comfortable setting on the thermostat.
The drains didn't drain. There was no ice in the ice machine. The manager recommended a Chinese buffet restaurant that was terrible. I think he gets a kickback or something. Pay an extra $20 and stay somewhere else.
Charming, clean, professional. and very affordable. Only thing I didnt like was that we had to leave after just one day!
Cute and cozy little motel. We only stayed for a night but the bed was pretty comfy and the bathroom looked like it had just been upgraded. Staff was super friendly. If you're in to Pokémon Go like husband than you'll love how quick the walk is to the little downtown area with all the Pokestops We would definitely stay here again
The rooms are utilitarian, just basic needs - bed, bath, TV, wifi. Decorations are fun, we stayed in the "Marilyn Monroe" suite ;) No place to sit and relax. The beds are on rollers, so if you lean against the wall the bed moves.
The location was good, if you want to be in town. Air conditioner was up so high on wall, you can'take adjust it. If you want a quiet relaxing place to stay this is not it.
It was cheap and in a good location to The Grand Canyon. We got there about 9 at night and left at 4:30 the next morning. It served its purpose. There was some blood smeared on the sink counter. Ew. The bed was basically like cardboard and the room was pretty small.
The was a micro wave in the room which worked very well for both boiling water and heating food. The room was ordered inclusive breakfast which showed to be only a cup of coffee and one sweet cake and no tables etc.. This has nothing to do with a breakfast. In general the room was old and not maintained and particularly the bath room was filthy. The room had no chairs and only a small table.
The owner operator is very helpful with information and understanding, felt homely and welcomed, rooms had all the needed facility like fridge, AC, neat and clean place. Central loction on interesting restautrants around life esay for travelers to access foods and drinki Nothing to complaint at all
Within walking distance city center, but close to exit roads
the location Old (but clean) not much to do at the motel.
Location is great Very dated. Coverlet on bed was obviously not cleaned regularly and possessed a bad smell. Thankfully the room window opens so that was helpful. Shower head and pressure is also negligible and co owner of motel could not help with fixing cable/direct TV complications.
We literally just needed a place to stay on our way out west. It's close to a grocery store which was nice. The man at the counter was friendly. The Internet was terrible. I had been camping for a for days and wanted to check my emails and what not, but I was kicked off every 3 minutes. The ground in the bathroom was wet when we got there and there were freezer burned chicken wings from who knows when in the minifridge. And the TV didn't work at all.
This is a mediocre motel. It is very basic, dated, and costs more than it would if it were not for its proximity to the Grand Canyon. Parking conditions are unacceptable.
The room was clean and functional. Free Internet wifi access was useful. No hairdryer. It was right next door to the train line. Single room only had one towel.
cheapest on booking and clean. good for when you want to save money during the trip. They hadn't bothered to check our booking so we almost ended up without a room for that night. they blamed booking.com for not sending them a fax. We had to take the last available room. Very noisy and small.
Loved it! Great vintage ambience! The owners ad wonderful and have lots of helpful info about the area. We highly recommend it to anyone traveling Route 66 and would have stayed longer if we had been able. Nothing!
I have been very satisfied with my stays here at the Grand. I stayed here a few weeks earlier and really appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms. The proprietors are working hard to make this motel truly grand. I will definitely stay here again and again
It was CLEAN! Obviously the new owner is putting time and money from the inside out -- which is where and how it should be done! Great location for easy walk up and down the main street. I spoke with the owner prior to our arrival about a discount for a disabled Veteran because the website I used does not allow for this; the owner said yes but on arrival took only $5 off the $--- rate, not the usual 10%. NOT COOL!
The staff was very helpful, the location is great!
The feelings for nostalgic Route 66 came alive during our stay. The vintage decor and style added to our trip to the Grand Canyon in ways we didn't anticipate but truly appreciated.
Extraordinary personal service...appreciated getting inside scoop on must see things to see and do while in the area. Loved the feel of stepping back in time, staying on Historic Route 66 in a quaint little motor court that has been restored.
location it does not deserve two stars rating here, this is misleading to customers. one start should be more than enough.
I wasn't sure what to expect. My wife and I just needed a comfortable place to spend the night at Williams, AZ after exploring the Grand Canyon all day. We opted for the upgrade from Queen to King suite for $30 more and it was worth it. The room was very quaintly decorated and the king size bed was very comfortable. The hotel which is more of a bed&Breakfast is two blocks from all of the shops and restaurants in Williams, AZ. Breakfast was included, but the time was from 7:30 to 8;30 am ONLY! One hour is not enough. Would have loved to have breakfast, but we needed to sleep in after our exhausting exploration of the Grand Canyon.
Great breakfast, nice fire pit, very convenient to downtown No complaints.
