Looked great At night you could hear every door close on the floor, all night. The staff were knocking all the doors at 9:00am which seemed to me a bit early. For having to pay for breakfast the selection was poor.
It was centrally located to The Old Mill district and downtown. It was clean and tastefully decorated. Modern facility. The bed was too firm, we woke up sore everyday. Same cookies every day needed variety.
Rooms were nice, I like that they wash all the bedding between guests. Overall was quiet but you could hear every time someone left their room (door slam shut) Seems that would be easy enough to fix with padding strips around door. Made it hard to sleep in.
Staff was very friendly. Bathroom in room was nice and clean. All noises outside the room; room service, people, cars, could be heard like it was inside your room in the morning.. Sleeping in is impossible
Getting a room facing the river was really nice. You had a feeling of being someplace special. Breakfast was also good and had a lot to offer.
Pool Horrible breakfast Loud maintenance trucks
It seemed to all be in place there was a lovely room with great view, restaurant was fun, staff where always there to help with anything of need. We would definitely recommend and stay there again.
Clean rooms, river view from patio, nice bathroom, indoor pool, free internet and 6 port charger with USB on table. No free breakfast and breakfast was expensive at Currents. Staff should have informed us that there is construction going on across the river. I guess they are putting in foundation for new building.
Being on the river. Bed. Convenient location. Nice bar with good food. On the pricey side. Wait staff seemed quite stressed and not forthcoming with assistance.
Loud construction noise in the morning ruined our stay.
Location The facility was a little dated, although inside the rooms had been remodeled.
Nice free Breakfast buffet in convenient location Heating system in room didn't perform well
Staff was friendly, room was very clean. We were able to check in at 2 am and still get great customer service and a great room. Hotel was an overall great stay. Nothing negative to say expect for having a room next to the pool and hearing small children play in the pool at 8 am
the wind goes down the chimney and your room becomes filled with smoke... not very romantic
Great view. Nice staff. Rooms are clean. Property could definitely use some updating though.
Location was amazing! Size of room was great and super clean. Beds were big and comfortable. Loved the blankets! Heat and AC worked great. I loved te style of hotel and pool/spa area with deck right outside. Elevators were great for the three stories. Staff was awesome. There was a system glitch when I booked online and staff was helpful and kind and got me set up right away. We were able to go to room early at 1 PM which was great after lots of driving. Wish we stayed there all three nights. I definitely recommend. :)
Clean room. Great for having friends over. The bar was great to start and end at. Thanks for the fresh margaritas. Was put into an ADA room without being notified.
Bed was comfortable Breakfast was $10, most other places include it, especially places this expensive. And the wifi was awful. Wouldn't stay connected for more than a few minutes. I could hear other guests' voices and footsteps.
Pillows way to soft. No maps or information in the room. No phone book. Refrigerator not cold and no way to turn it down. No local info in the lobby.
Close to where I needed to be Air conditioning was poor
Availability on Memorial Day weekend! Seems like most people knew to avoid this hole. Truly terrible hotel. Bugs and hair found on sheets in the room, and when this was brought to the attention of the hotel staff, they denied that the photos were taken at this hotel -- despite clear photos of the comforter and room. Christine, the front desk employee, was rude and dismissive. I booked this room for an employee at the last minute on Memorial Day weekend (should have known it would be awful since it had availability), and he couldn't even stay in the room, which the staff refused to clean before his second night. Next time I'll use a different service and will be filing a chargeback on my card.
Room was clean and spacious for money. Staff was not always helpful Wifi was very undependable, "breakfast" poor
A short walk to the Bend Downtown area
Loved the bed, very comfortable! I was actually tempted to ask the front desk what kinds of mattresses they use. The price was the only thing I didn't really like. The breakfast was good, but the food/room didn't justify $170/night.
Friendly staff Average facilities, location, cleanliness just okay.
The free breakfast was delicious and filling!! Fresh fruit, the best coffee and so much to choose from. The bed wAs very comfortable! Slept like a log! Can't think of anything I didn't like. However we wished we weren't so rushed with other plans so we could have sat in the hot tub
Room was quiet and worth the pricetag. Walking location to all the bars and restaurants was nice! Hotel breakfast was not very good
reasonably close to medical appointment.
Loud people drinking and partying in the parking lot right in front of my room until 4 am. Located in a depressed section of town.
Cleanliness, central location, and nice amenities make for a good value. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pillows were old and lumpy. The lamps give off a sterile light that is terrible at night. They should use light bulbs with a warmer color.
The breakfast was fantastic
The breakfast was great.
all night hot tub!
breakfast is not impressive, no taste,
Rooms were clean and incredibly spacious. The staff were extremely friendly. We were checked in my a woman named Jennifer. Everything you would expect for the price. Would recommend. Would of liked more trailer accommodating parking spaces.
Most 2-3 star Bend motels are way out of town. This one is centrally located, which was perfect for us as we needed to shuttle back and forth to the climbing gym. This also made it close to the Bite of Bend festival, and other leading restaurants around town center. Days Inn was a good $200 cheaper, cumulatively, than the next comparable motel, and that one was way out of town with its only on-paper advantage being an indoor pool. So good value. The pool is outdoor and the first 2 days were chilly, but the water is almost bath-warm, so going in was not a problem. The breakfast is not stellar, but definitely ample, with the the headline dish changing every day (waffle, oatmeal, etc.), but omelettes, cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit, etc. available every morning. They did some superficial renovations (paint, appliances, bathroom decor, etc.), but the beds are not very good, and the room as well as the entire building, feels outdated. Also, there was a bunch of long-stay young men (probably on some work detail) who were getting up at 5:30 every morning and idling their diesel truck for very long minutes. The first morning they were even yelling and laughing; later that day I asked one of them to be less loud at 5:30, and this didn't repeat. They still idled their truck right in front of our room the next morning. The last morning we lucked out; their truck was a few doors down ;) It is the hotel's responsibility to make sure they observe quiet-hours etiquette. The early-morning person can notice if people are making too much noise that early in the morning, esp. on a weekend when the motel is full. Last but not least, it'll be nice to have an extra 30-60 minutes for breakfast in the weekend. A 9:00 end time on Saturday or Sunday morning is a bit tight ;)
Close to downtown, decent hot breakfast, inexpensive. Noisy location (loud semi trucks outside the building at night). Outdated furnishings and off-putting fluorescent lighting. Threadbare linens.
Nice outdoor pool, convienant location and on-site lounge. Not the cleanest rooms but would be great with kids.
It was convenient location, but the rooms were outdated but decent. The breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. The room was outdated and the counter had a crack in it. Also it didn't look like they had dusted and cleaned very well.
We made the reservation for two queen beds but when we got there they said they had us in a single king. We had to get a roll away for my kid. Theyou were all booked an we couldn't change rooms. There was something wrong when the Web page made the reservation.
In our weekend stay, we received no maid service to change towels, make bed, vacuum. The carpet had several large wet spots. The television reception was poor. The room was very out dated with its decor from bedding to lamp fixtures. The toilet worked really hard to flush and the lighting was poor. Wish we hadn't stayed there. Not even worth what we paid. Think twice before booking here.
Comfortable bed Access to restaurant Beautiful outdoor setting Dirty towels not taken the next day after the first night. Room not cleaned...vacuumed for a couple of days. Tub never cleaned. Things UNDERr the bed that have never been cleaned! Bed not remade...except for one day. SMELLY garbage next to the restaurant! LONG wait at the office while the person in charge talked on the phone...should have put the person on the phone on hold and helped the people in front of her. Poor management!
The rooms at the Shilo Inn are dated, but clean. Bathrooms were clean and spacious. The highlights of the hotel are the full breakfast with surprisingly decent coffee, lounge on premises, conveniently located to restaurants, shopping, and downtown. The indoor pool is kind of murky, but the outdoor pool was lovely. Premises were quiet and peaceful. All in all a great value for the $$. Furnishings were dated and a little too tired to be considered rustic. It definitely needs some cosmetic overhaul, and travelers who need to be pampered while away from home should look elsewhere. But if you want a reasonably priced hotel with good amenities and don't plan on spending a lot of time in your hotel, the Shilo is a great option.
The location was great. Easy access to freeways and near a lot of different activities. Also close to gas stations and places to eat. The staff was rude. My boyfriend and I drove to Bend from California to visit a friend. We arrived in Bend around 3am. When I walked up to the front desk to check in the guy at the desk acted like I was inconveniencing him. When I went to check in he told me our room was canceled. This was extremely upsetting because it was 3am and we were very tired and wanted to sleep. I just think it is very strange that no one bothered to call me to tell us our room was canceled. When I initially booked the room I got a confirmation email and received no further correspondence. The man at the front desk continued to repeat: "You should have called to let me know you were checking in late." Okay, fine, I get it. However, it was 3am and I didn't need to be hassled.
It was great The gps doesn't take you right to it, it marks it on the freeway but that's a minor issue.
This hotel is way over priced. I spent 144.00 per night for a outdated room. Also when trying to sleep you hear kids running in the halls and when I told the front desk. They said we cant stop the kids from running and I said no but you could relocate my room. No one followed up nor did a thing about it. I did get a 44.00 discount when I checked out but considering everything I would not stay there again. They also only gave us one room key because they were short. Just like another customer complained about
Location is good. Rooms haven't been updated ever - not even the bedding. We had bed bugs in our room. Complimentary breakfast is supposed to start at 6 but restaurant was still closed at 6:10.
The hotel was a little outdated, but the room was huge and very comfortable. We really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub to warm up after rafting the cold Deschutes. The staff was very helpful and friendly. And we liked the location. The complimentary breakfast wasn't great. All of the hot food was cold, so we went somewhere else for breakfast. But the room was such a great value, we didn't really mind.
Location and relatively low price. Bedding was long in the tooth, and carpet not clean
The hotel was very clean, the price was affordable for us, and the staff was super friendly. We really enjoyed our stay! The breakfast in the morning was wonderful and had a lot of options, which made us all happy! There was a pool and it was on the cold side because I think they must have been having problems with the heater. The hot tub was nice and hot though and we enjoyed that a lot! Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we will be back!
Excellent accomodations. This Motel will be first on the list when we visit central oregon again. Clean, generous rooms - highly recommend.
Our stay was wonderful. We stayed 5 nights and we enjoyed it very much. The service from the front desk and housekeeping was first-rate. The discounts honored made it the most reasonable hotel in Bend!!!! We used the pool and exercise room every day?the pool area was nicely kept up and the TV. in the exercise room was much appreciated. Choices for the breakfast buffet could have had more protein, and offering soy milk would have been nice, but otherwise the selections were more than enough for a free continental breakfast. We?ll definitely stay there when we come to town!
Very nice stay, staff helpful and friendly breakfast good
I couldn't decide if I would stay at this hotel again. I'm tending toward no, simply because it was quite costly, but the staff were utterly wonderful. They were incredibly helpful and friendly. The beds weren't as comfortable as I thought they should be for the price. Overall it was a positive experience.
This hotel has a very homey atmosphere. The staff was friendly and courteous. The rooms are spacious and clean.
nice hotel perfect for travel with kids. good breakfast. The staff is really nice.
Stayed in the suite...absolutely loved it! Plenty of room (2 adults and 2 teenagers), very clean, and hotel was friendly and helpful. The pool and excercise rooms were well equipped and clean. The breakfast was a full continental with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, buiscuts and gravy...among your assorted muffins, fruits and juices/coffee/tea.
We spent one night on a short family trip the Bend area. The hotel was clean, staff was helpful and efficient, pool / hot tub was clean and fun though not very large. The breakfast was well stocked and the staff member came around to ask if we needed anything additional before she put the food away. Overall a nice stay.
Every time I travel to Washington, I love to spend the night here. The staff and service are top notch.
Had been here a couple of years ago - it was much better then!

Room very clean and bed very comfortable. Could not get the AC fan to kick on. Could have been user error.
The room was very nicely decorated, and it felt like you weren't in a motel. The towels were soft, nice bedding and pillows.
Close to hospital No noise buffer, could hear everything. Unable to sleep due to traffic noise.
Convenient location First i was sent to a room that was occupied, second they do NOT serve breakfast as advertised
I wish all motels that I stayed at was as nice as this place. Nice to walk into a room that feels like home vs a motel room. Good wifi; nice water pressure; great towels and pillows. Hated to leave!
Newly remodeled. Location Front desk Customer service has not good
Location It was dirty. Someone left their 'mark' in the toilet. The carpet hadnt been vaccuumed and their was hair everywhere. In the bedding, in the towels, on the tile. Just gross. We got there too late to complain and left to early to care.
The room and bed were great. No
Location Our room was dirty carpet covered Holes in the Floor, I have pictures of dirt from the walls and bathroom.
Location, free wifi Front desk people were not very friendly. So call breakfast was joke since nothing was available. Room service people left trash here and there. Not sure what they cleaned other than make the beds. My stay here was very disappointing. Motel6 stay would have been better.
We didn't have bath towels in our room, so I went to the front desk to ask for two. I was told they were still in the laundry room, so another staff member went to go get them for me. She said she'd deliver them to my room, which was great, but she came back with a few pool towels and said they didn't have any bath towels available. I would have liked to be told that I could check back in the morning at the front desk for bath towels -- pool towels are not absorbent, let alone, super tiny. It just seemed a little weird. Also, the pool was open until 10pm, but there are no lights on either around the pool or in the pool. We went at around 9:30 and decided it was too creepy to swim.
the rooms were clean and comfortable this is our third visit and found the service lacking. It took two hous to get a bulb for the room and that's only after we went to the desk. No coffee in the morning (7am) only cereal, old muffins for food. Very disappointed on this trip
The breakfast was good. The normal rates are over priced for the age of the facility; but when you can book through an internet booking site, the prices are more in line with what the rooms are worth.
There were two good things about this place. The guy working the front counter when we checked in on Feb 5 (2016) was very nice and helpful. The other thing is the biscuits and gravy in the continental breakfast were pretty good. There were quite a few things we didn't like. We were told all the rooms in the hotel were non-smoking, but ours stunk badly of cigarette smoke. Tried calling the front desk to let them know, but the phone was inoperative. The carpets were filthy and stained. One bed made a large clanking sound anytime you sat on it or rolled over while laying on it. Out of the four clean towels provided, one had a large grease stain and one had, what looked like, FECES on it. When I brought the fecal towel to the attention of the front desk lady on the morning of Feb 7th (2016), she responded with, "what do you want me to do!" In other words she was very rude. I recommend staying away from this motel. I've stayed here several times over the past few years and it has been getting progressively worse.
Seemed newly remodeled and breakfast was alright
Just off highway 97, convenient. Wi-Fi internet too slow, gave up trying to check. Hard boiled eggs on ice-too cold, would prefer scrambled eggs and bacon.
Mini refrigerator, micro, coffee maker in room. Good coffee and waffles at breakfast Room was next to a stairwell where smokers constantly puffed smoke into our room. Add oat meal to breakfast
Pool, breakfast, friendly manager. Dirty carpets in room.
Room stunk like dog do do and wet hair from same. Light bulbs burned out. Told front desk without any action. Police took down armed persons right outside our door. Got sick from eating hard boiled eggs from the breakfast buffet. Used to be good but not anymore..
They serve a decent breakfast; gravy and biscuits every day, fresh cooked waffles, cereals, yogurt, boiled eggs, fruit, great coffee. And most of the staff was great. One of the staff was a snot nosed brat that was not helpful at all. WiFi was hit or miss. If you can find the Sugar Loaf on Kayak it's a great deal.
Your site will not let me score the hotel properly
Friendly staff, clean rooms Internet didn't work in my room even though the offer high speed internet.
I loved the location. Walking distance from Worthy Brewery and lots of local dining, including Baldy's Barbecue and Hola! They were remodeling and mattresses and furniture was in the hallways and blocking the ice machine and a lot of dust in the hallways and there was not a notice of remodeling at booking.
I was very pleased with my stay at Sleep Inn. The room was nice and very clean. The staff was excellent. The location was close to several restaurants and not too far from downtown. Overall a very pleasant stay.
Staff was excellent. Very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was very poor. Limited selection and very small area to eat in.
Clean, reasonably comfortable - always love the waffles for breakfast. Evening desk attendant friendly and helpful. Hallway noise bothersome early in the morning, entire facility well-worn and drab, "hot" water for breakfast tea only warm and wasn't refreshed even after we requested it.
Staff were friendly and helpful, no issues during the stay and fee to stay were minimal.
This was the 2nd time we stayed here and enjoyed both stays. We particularly liked the kitchenette and size of the room. The location was great for getting around the Bend area and were treated excellent both times. We highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
Can't say enough good things about this hotel. The staff was great at keeping the young baseball players staying there calm and pretty darn quiet. AMAZING NOPE
The people were so nice and understanding! The rooms were very nice, we had a little problem with the first room but it was taken care of as soon as we said something about it. It was a great, well-needed trip! The was no hand soap in the rooms
Large rooms with kitchen and sitting area, great for business travelers or anyone who needs a place for several days or a week. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful with information about the local area. Great brew pub right across the street.
Staff was wonderful Was advertised there was an Indoor pool and the was NOT
The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very clean, comfortable, and quiet even though it backed to a main street. The hotel is a few miles from city area,(transportation is necessary) but in a convenient location.
Quiet and comfortable. Easy to bachelor.f No protein in the breakfast offering.
We loved the close location to major shopping areas. The common areas were well cleaned and organized. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room did not meet our expectations. The room felt musty and the couch smelled.
The Bed and A/C were okay. There was no plugs available in the room--outside of two outlets in the bathroom (had to tip over the trash can for a little table to set my chargers up). Even the lamp on the nightstand was not operational--not plugged in. The TV had Netflix available-but it was not operational - per the attendant - the cable had a "problem". Also, most of the stations where very blurry. The shower curtain was lying on the floor--had to fuss with it a bit to get it to stay up. After a hard day of riding (motorcycle), the welcome was tepid at best.
This motel is a clean, old motel that definitely met my needs of just a quick place to stay for the night. The pool was a lovely treat.
Nothing positive to say Old smelly dark dingy. Killed mosquitos all night to find a huge spider in the bathtub in the morning. Had I known what this place actually looked like I would have paid a lot more for a clean decent place for my family and I to spend the night
It was outstanding That the restaurant was closed to private party
It is not often that I will spend the time to fill out a survey. It has to be really great or awful. Yes, it was pricey. The Oxford Hotel Bend more then exceeded our expectations. The entire staff was excellent. Location perfect for our needs and clean.
This is a beautiful hotel in an ideal location for accessing downtown Bend. The prices are reasonable and the staff hospitable. We enjoyed our modern room, comfortable bed, mountain view and great immenities. Our morning in the sauna completed the experience. We highly recommend this lovely hotel.
Very nice hotel, super staff and a great bar and restaurant. I have stayed in hotels all over the world but the service at the Oxford was superb. Bend is a very nice town and there are a lot of great restaurants nearby. The free use of the bicycles is nice too as Bend is very bike friendly.
location, staff, and environment - beautiful rooms all with contemporary furnishings and comforts. Beautiful place. most of the room windows do not open. I moved to a room with a balcony door but the guest on one side was smoking on his balcony - against hotel rules. Not the hotel's fault but just a poor balcony design with little privacy. They graciously moved me.
Very clean room and easily accessible. Small room and noisy cooler.
Rooms were clean. Older motel but had been updated. Would stay there again.
Staff was nice. Room was remodeled and very clean. A good value.
Check-in was quick and professional. Rooms and bathrooms were super clean and decorated more like a guest room than a motel room. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.
Very clean and neat. Bed was comfortable and shower hot, only hotel I've been to with a nice shower head in a long time. Very cold bathroom, seema like no insulation anywhere but very clean!
I was a little leery about staying at this hotel because of a rude interaction I'd had with someone on the phone when I called ahead at the hotel. But when I arrived, I thought this was going to be a decent place to stay. I was given a room in a remodeled portion of the motel. The furniture and decor was a bit odd, though, for a motel room. Very big, heavy wood furniture that seemed oversized and some strange vases and wall art. Also, the lighting was very dark and because I needed to do some work in the room that evening, I asked the evening manager, who seemed nice, for an additional table lamp which he brought over. Despite the decor, it seemed okay until....,I was a little leery about staying at this hotel because of a rude interaction I'd had with someone on the phone when I called ahead at the hotel. Very big, heavy wood furniture that seemed oversized and some strange vases and wall art. Also, the lighting was very dark and because I needed to do some work in the room that evening, I asked the evening manager, who seemed nice, for an additional table lamp which he brought over. All seemed okay until.... The issue I had with the hotel ended up being with the owner's unnecessary rudeness. The room I had been given had an unusually soft mattress. Had I realized this earlier in the evening I would have asked for another room but because I stayed up late to finish up some work on my computer, I didn't even get into bed until about 1am. The mattress seemed unusually soft, but I tried to make the best of it. I would fall asleep for brief periods but wake up in discomfort (pain in different parts of back or legs depending on how I slept.) By 3:30am I was well-aware that there was no way I would get a good night sleep but there did not seem to be anyone in the office from what I could see ( my room was directly across from the office). On top of a terrible night with little sleep, at 7:30am there was a large construction machine grating the gravel in the parking lot right in front of my room and it was setting off the alarm on my car. I spoke to the owner shortly while this was going on, explaining the terrible night sleep because of the mattress, and asked if he would give me discount on my room. He rudely said, "We never had a complaint" and basically said he wouldn't do anything to reduce my bill. I immediately recognized him (his voice) as the rude person who answered my call the day before. He told me I should have woken up the night manager for a new room and because I didn't he wasn't going to do anything. So I asked him for another room that I could use until the 11am check-out time so that I could get a few hours sleep. He refused flat-out, saying "I can't give you a room for a few hours." I asked "why not?" but refused to give me an answer. At that point I became more than irritated, and insisted. His wife came in the office and they discussed something in another language and he finally put me in another room, insisting that I not let my dog on the bed. Not acceptable, since I'd paid an additional pet fee. However, I agreed as my dog will not go on any furniture unless I allow her. However, when I entered that new room my dog, without getting on the bed, started to intently smell several spots on the bed covering, a sure sign that the cover was not clean. It ended up that I didn't stay anyway because the noise from the construction on the parking lot made it impossible to sleep. Aside from the rudeness of the owner, I seriously question the cleanliness of this hotel because, in addition to my dog's fascination with the smells on the linens, I saw that the housekeeping cart and all the "clean" supplies (i.e. towels, sheets, tp, etc) for cleaning rooms was stored in what appeared to be an unfinished, i.e. shed-like, addition to this motel. What may appear to be a clean room may not actually be clean.
Great value, very clean. Recently remodeled rooms.
Hotel is old but clean. Within 5 minutes driving to downtown. Good value for the money.
For the price especially, this was the nicest and cleanest room I have ever been in. I will definitely be coming back. Hot water, clean rooms, comfortable bed, a little low on the water pressure when lots of people are showering but not too bad it's a great place to stay for 1-2 people. Only down side if you can call it that is the managers check in room is one of the rooms there and the desk if you can call it that is beside the bed..
The staff was super friendly, even when I had unusual requests.
Older property, but clean and very well maintained. Mid-sized flat screen TV, adequate wifi, and in-room coffee were nice. Rooms were oddly shaped and varied in size.
I liked that we were able to get a comfortable room at the last minute. The quarters were tight, but it was all we needed for one night. Bed was comfortable.
This is a great value.
Friendly front desk staff Wifi was not reliable. Rooms were clean but basic.
The room was very small but I was a lone traveler and I could tell it was the smallest room out of all of them. It was very clean and comfortable, and check in was extremely fast.
Clean, comfortable, good value. Staff was friendly, appreciate wifi & in room coffee
Big rooms. Good value. Rooms are a bit outdated - decor is old fashion. New carpeting would make the rooms seem cleaner.
