Convenient to various attractions. Reasonably quiet. Clean. Simple but adequate breakfast included. Close to town and meal options. Because of temperature variation from 47-97F, would be nice to have thermostat instead of AC/heat on or off only.
Very close to the venue of my meeting and reasoably priced They could have used more help at the check-in desk. They were quite busy and had only one person at the desk to handle check-ins as well as answering the phone. It slowed down the check in process considerably
New rooms. New TVs. Terrible Internet. Don't even think about watching Netflix.
For a place to sleep in Bishop, it was fine. Nothing fancy, but comfortable.
Fish clean station , dinner discount, ice machine convince People smoking on the sitting on the stairs
The room was clean and nice. Considering it is on the less expensive side, it was very impressive.
Overall a great hotel with both breakfast and pool
quiet, despite proximity of US 395; good pool; friendly staff breakfast was a bit minimal and breakfast area was very crowded
I had a nice stay at the Vagabond Inn. It was very quiet even though it's on the main road in Bishop.
very nice hotel.
We've stayed at the Vagabond several times. Although they were hurt by a fire, they are rebuilding the facility and are doing a nice job at it. The rooms are modest but clean and nice and this is not a luxury area anyway. Many of the people staying here are travelers seeing the Sierra Nevada and for family and groups of friends it's a great place. Reasonable price and nice rooms.
Room was clean, service awesome Penny at the front desk is amazing. One thing I don't like is slow internet didn't have chance to go online at all :(((
Breakfast Bar. Friendly personnel. Clean quiet room. Small fridge in a low hidden location.

It exceeded my expectations on every level. The room was clean and up to date. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was wonderful with two separate sinks and a gorgeous walk in shower. The staff was very helpful with dining and hiking options. The elevator doors were extremely slow... but that's really nitpicking. This place was great.
Everything. We stay here every chance we get Nothing

Soup in the afternoon, fresh cookies in the evening. Breakfast staff too busy talking to keep eggs warm.
Hot cooked breakfast, great lobby and lounge. Good experience.
Beautiful hotel, by far the nicest in town. Staff was amazing and very friendly. The morning breakfast was a nice plus.

Quiet, easy to walk to places in town Parking. If you have a compact car it would be fine, however, a truck and it's good luck.
Comfy bed and nice linens. Cute, quaint atmosphere in the room. Entire place was quiet and peaceful. Direct TV was a plus, it was nice to have the guide and tons of channels. Staff was friendly. Wifi password should be posted in the room, instead I had to call someone to get the password. Combo AC/Heater unit was loud and a bit annoying (compared to other heating options) because the fan was always on.
comfortable hotel breakfast was very simple
Let's start from the beginning; the man at the front desk (I think he was the manager) was very kind when we arrived and allowed us to check in early (he even had the custodial staff clean a room special for us). While the room was small, the bed was very comfortable and the pillows were THE BEST pillows we've ever used in a hotel (my fiancé says they're better than the ones at home lol). The shower/tub was nice and had really good water pressure and the hot water came out almost immediately. There was a flat screen TV in the room (probably ~30"), which was nice as well! The fish cleaning station/freezer (not listed on website or, not that I had seen) were very nice! No nasty residue or gunk from inconsiderate fisherman. The room itself was very small and difficult for the two of us to navigate without banging into each other. The fridge was also VERY small! Like a MINI fridge; probably 2'X2', barely enough to fit more than a six pack...of soda :) The pool and jacuzzi were both dirty; quite a bit of debris in each. The pool was also very cold! It was hot out, but not hot enough to warrant a swim in that ice cold water. There was a female employee that was extemely rude when we had called to get some items for the room. She said we would need to come to the lobby to get the supplies and then hung up abruptly. Really? The other employee was happy to walk the 20' to our door to give us towels. Did not make us very happy.
It was a nice, clean hotel with comfortable rooms. -
Liked being close to main st. Walk to shops and restaurants. Staff friendly.
confortable beds and good wifi poor breakfast
great location near to Yosemite exit park Very poor breakfast
Good location and comfy beds. Friendly staff. Bathroom floor and shower were dirty. The carpet was so dirty it turned your feet black!
Room layout was nice, room was clean, staff very friendly and helpful. No insulation in the walls. Plumbing noises from multiple rooms nearby were loud and conversations from people outside were as loud as if they were in the room itself.
The town of Bishop was conveniently located for our visit to Barstow via Death Valley. The hotel was in the centre of town, convenient for restaurants and shops and the room contained all that was expected. Perhaps the rooms could be better sound insulated. Noisy residents above our room kept TV on until 03:30.
I've stayed in Bishop a bunch of times at multiple hotels and I'd put this in the top 3 hotels in Bishop. Clean room, all the necessary amenities, no complaints at all.
This was a great hotel at a reasonable price. It appears that the room was recently remodeled and the rooms were very clean. The continental breakfast was great for us and our kids. We would definitely stay there again! The heater was a bit loud but not unreasonable. We stayed in a room that had an adjoining door to another room and we could hear everything going on in the other room. Not sure if that was because it could be used as an adjoining room or if all their walls are that thin.
Very convenient for our trip between Las Vegas and Yosemite National Park. The hotel was very clean, and the breakfast was good. Nothing
I stayed one night on the 16th of Sept. before meeting friends for a backpacking trip into the mountains. At first they could not find my reservation that I had made an hour earlier until I went back to my car for my iPad to show them. Then they found it. Fine! The motel is old and a little shabby, but for one night, no problem. When I returned from my backpacking trip nine days later I discovered I had been charged for a second day On the 18th of Sept. for $68. I called and talked to someone about reversing the charge and was told she could not find the charge and would have to call me back. I was never called back and I am disputing the charge through my USAA Visa. I just don't trust these people. They are either incompetent of dishonest. You chose??
The fridge was full of ants and the motel made no effort to clean them up, despite frequent rests. No wireless in the rooms. The 'continental' breakfast was seldom ready before 8 am.
Big bed Shower did not drain and breakfast was aweful.
Bishop is close to Mammoth, and the motel is pretty close to the "downtown" bishop area. At midnight I found a small bed bug crawling around by my head. I flipped some pillows over and found larger full sized ones crawling around. Horrible night, the place is a dump, should be razed.
Location, price, clean and comfortable outside of motel was dated as were the hallways
Location. Right on 395 Room to small including the bathroom. Shower head discharged water in a stream. Could not adjust it to a spray. Ok for business but not for family travel with more than 2 people.
fairly comfortable, Nice Staff and good breakfast Parking is very tight, my doors got badly dinged by guy in next slot. Little difficult to get from lot into room, long hall to walk down, you need to request a room close to an exit, if you don't mind the noise
I'm happy I didn't book more than a night. But it is right in the heart of Bishop. Okay as a last resort. Lobby locked at night. Had to stand in the cold to check in after midnight. Room needs an update. Furniture is old. I was afraid to sit on the couch. Had a funny smell. At least could use a steam clean. Fireplace in the corner seemed out of place...didn't even work. Recommend Holiday Inn, Creekside Inn, or LaQuinta at comparable prices if staying in Bishop.
The value Some of the carpet was coming up and dirty, One of the lamps didn't work, the tile in the bathroom was broken, the tissue dispenser came of the the wall and the shower curtain hanger was installed improperly so the curtain would not stay closed. And the first man who checked us in was surly to say the least.
The only thing I liked was the view of the mountains. Staff is rude. Rooms are smokey and scummy. Bathroom walls had stains. I don' t recommend this hotel at all.
Location Everything else. Carpet torn and dirty, Only shampoo. Breakfast a farce. Stayed at one other Super 8. It was a little better, but still bad enough to that Super 8 off my list of do able motels.
My stay at Super 8 was very good.
Wifi was unreliable. Front desk staff was VERY unfriendly.
Good location We didn't enjoy the young lady behind the desk that laughed in our faces for simply asking her where a good place to get dinner was. She was not helpful and very rude!
It was ok that they had rooms available Too bad that the carpet still had water stains right at the bathroom entry. It looked real bad since the only way possible the carpet would get water stains that bad would come from a toilet back up spill
None I requested for a non-smoking room but was placed in a smoking room. The motel manager told me they don't honor my request because it was on-line booking. I wasted several calls to Kayak customer service but can't switch the room.
Stayed here because it was cheapest. Nothing special but it served its purpose. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone not looking for anything fancy. Overall good experience Just the heater was a little noisy but only had it on for 10 min to warm up room so not really a problem.
Everyone we crossed paths with was helpful and friendly. Good location. It was not a good value. The bed was uncomfortable and the room was noisy- close to the road. The room we stayed in had a full kitchen but we did not use it.
Clean and quiet, good value relative to other hotels/motels in the area. Front desk guy (manager? owner? ) was very personable. The place is pretty dated, but renovations are probably out of the question for a place this small.
Absolutely nothing. Shower leaked, shower way to small, window had no locking mechanism, toilet=something out of the 40's, small half refrigerator very noisy, speaking of noisy-let me tell you about the ancient air conditioner. A/C was mounted high on the wall so you were unable to set or adjust without standing on the old desk chair. Lighting is old and antiquated. I give this motel a zero rating...
Very clean and modern. Bed was very comfortable. Love the wood look floors! Pricey for a Motel 6. We paid $147 on our way to Oregon, and $125 on our way back to Arizona. Kayak saved us some money the second time! A Google search is how I found Kayak.
Clean and spacious hair dryer only at main office, low quality toiletries,
The window heater was difficult to control. A thermostat would have been better.
The owner was very nice, but when I checked in his wife waited on me and I asked for a smoking room, and she smiled and said ys smoking, but when I got to my room it was not smoking room! The first night was fine. On the second night , Friday night, the pipes starting making a banging noise around 1 30 am I would say, was on and off, all night long. This needless to say, ruined my trip!
The television was newer and had a nice picture. The motel was in a residential/commercial area and not near any other business. The parking was tight at best and it was difficult to get in and out of the lot. It was relatively clean but many of the fixtures were old and didn't work. The third riser on the second floor stairs was higher than the others and my wife and I both tripped when bringing in our luggage. There were few outlets that were accessible because of heavy furniture so you couldn't plug anything in. All in all, I should have spent a little more and reserved a room in the Best Western or La Qinta down the street!
Fish Cleaning? Fish Cleaning! Ha.
Nothing Everything disgusting extremely run down should be demolished
Somewhat cheap and off the main highway. Stale cigarette smoke and multiple dead cocaroaches. Looked worn down with peeling paint and dirty carpets.
Convenient location, quiet, and comfortabe bed! Staff friendly and helpful. Coffee and Continental breakfast.
Bishop is a good town to stay if touring Yosemete. Hard to see from the main strip. Grilling area dirty.
Convenient location right off the highway. Also close to Jack's restaurant and a nice coffee shop, which is important because the continental breakfast is a joke. This would be acceptable as a cheap motel if it was priced like a cheap motel. Perhaps there was some local event driving a price spike, but this was a Tuesday. Staff was not particularly welcoming. Bizarrely, various articles in the room bore logos of other hotels for some reason.
Nice town and easy for walk everywhere. Nothing special in this motel. Staff was nice and room was clean. Ok for 1 night stay.
I'm a photographer living in Yosemite, so I am usually out all day. When I am in the room I found the hotel to be easy to find, near a local restaurant I like and parking is close to all rooms. Lots of TV channels, and an AC unit that is very cold were also very nice. Overall I think I will return for the fall photo season. My room was near the janitorial closet which had some sort of phone or intercom going off quite often. The room lights were also a little harder to find and not incredibly bright, but I blame that more on the bulbs than the number of lights.
