Location was convenient for early morning flight. My son had a flight as an unaccompanied minor and the extra time needed for paperwork is understandable but it was a 6am flight. There wasn't anything out for breakfast before we left because of the early flight. Additionally, they closed the pool precisely at 10p. They cited security reasons for the promptness but it sounds a bit unnecessary. We weren't able to take part in any of the 'added conveniences' due to our circumstances.
The staff were very pleasant. It was a great value for me and my kids. Breakfast and evening food were great. Popcorn in the afternoon was an unexpected bonus!
It was clean, staff was friendly and they served warm dinner and breakfast included with the stay.
The location was perfect for New Year's Eve as the hotel was centrally located near the bars downtown and the room was quite large. The furniture was starting to look outdated and light switches were everywhere rather than near the door. Parking was also a bit confusing as it was across the street at the convention center. The staff was very friendly; however, I was charged twice for the room and it took 14 days to resolve this issue.
Very friendly staff and room was great. Parking is a difficulty as the complimentary is hard to find and the valet is expensive.
Clean rooms and affordable price on the room. The staff sucks! On the floor we stayed two groups in apparently the same family were causing a ruckus at all hours of the night,very late at night. We called twice to say something to the front desk staff and they did nothing. We will not be staying here EVER again.

The staff was responsive to taking care of problems. But, they should not have occurred in the first place. Upon arrival either kayak or the hotel had lost our reservation fortunately I had a copy of the confirmation. When we arrived in the room the room appeared to be acceptable after turning down the bed I discovered the sheets had not been changed from the previous occupant this is something I find completely unacceptable. To their credit the staff did changes to another room
No smoking room had a musty almost smokey odor. Woke with headache.
We were on the third floor in the corner. It was nice and quiet and didn't hear the highway traffic. Breakfast of eggs and sausage plus more was good. There wasn't enough seating area for breakfast.
The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. I didn't like having my name on the receipt with a different credit card number and an unknown address. It turns out that because I made the reservation online, the credit card number and address were from Priceline.
The entire hotel was run down and dirty. Our bed sheets were stained and everything seemed to have a layer of dust on it. Also the air conditioning would not work and the room was very hot. We would never suggest anyone to stay there. Definitely not a 3 star hotel!

Right off the interstate. Plenty of restaurants and stores near by. Room was dated, but clean. Lots of shady looking people hanging outside there rooms drinking into the night.. DID NOT FEEL SAFE!!! After normal business hrs front desk has to buzz you in to the lobby like a prison. Booked on Kayak, but charged by Red Roof Inn. They did issue a refund, but it takes at least 3 business days to process the refund. I would not stay here again!
Room was fairly clean, good TV, clock radio worked ok, shower was good. They gave us a handicapped unit (which we didn't ask for) that had virtually no counter space in the bathroom. We had to use the floor. Also, when we arrived at the motel in Dayton, we went to the office to check in at about 6pm on Saturday evening. There was no-one in the office and the door was locked. We had to wait nearly 15 minutes (it was very cold outside) until the clerk showed up. By that time there were three customers waiting to get in. She had been out at one of the units trying to fix the lock mechanism. There was no-one else on duty. If I hadn't already pre-paid for the room on line, I would have left to find another motel. I'm not sure if I'll be back to Red Roof because of it.
Nothing about this hotel was appealing, other than it was cheap. The TV did work as did the shower but not much else went well. This was sold as a non-smoking room, it clearly was not. The room stunk of cigarette smoke and it was everywhere. The walls even smelled of smoke. The manager was not willing to do anything about it other than offer 15% off our next stay. That is useless as we do not intend on using a Red Roof Inn again.
Proximity to airport and restaurants. Staff seemed a bit lost. Room smelled dirty and moldy. Comforter was stained. Gnats and flies in the room. Stained counter top beside sink. Numerous light bulbs were shot.
Room was clean enough although smelled a bit musty Sketchy part of town, was a female traveling alone and was a bit scared to sleep there
Bed was clean and comfortable.. the lay out was nice.. The bathtub and the cabinets and the sink.. the carpet need to be pulled updated to wood floors..

Best one I have been too in the US -parking lot was pretty packed with large trucks -carpeting in room was coming up in spots and looked as if it was in place since the 90's -Water fixtures in shower need maintenance (pressure/flow) - No way to adjust heat (bring extra blanket) - Stove dirty and busted up
Wonderful location, helpful staff and great complimentary breakfast. Our room was in need of an update. and deep cleaning. Furniture was worn and soiled, and mattress was very bad on the fold-out sleeper sofa and needed new/newer linens.
I appreciated not seeing any bugs in the place. Everything else was absolutely horrid. We have a toddler traveling with us. The only areas we could allow him to play were on the bed and on the coffee table. Everything else was disgusting. Literally, the entire sofa was sticky to the touch. The carpet was sticky, we kept our shoes on at all times. A brand new pair of socks our son had on in the room were dark brown within the couple of hours we were in there. The closet had water damage/stains in the ceiling, highlighted by cobwebs. The glasses in the cabinet still had lipstick stains from previous guests. The toilet is not securely bolted to the floor, so it bangs the wall when you stand. You truly get what you pay for. We left a day early, let them keep the charges for that day (obviously they needed it more than we do, hopefully they put it to good use) and found a hotel for about $30 more. We wanted at least one comfortable night. Apparently they serve breakfast for the guests...after seeing the room I would not dare put their food in my mouth.
The full kitchen, the pullout couch, more than just a hotel room, excellent lighting, a balcony or patio with appropriate doors, plenty of closet and cupboard space, the dishes, glassware and utensils that were provided. A fully functioning fireplace. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The next visit I will be more prepared to make full use of the facilities. The balcony was small. The carpet seams were rough. Water temperature was hard to adjust on all of the faucets. The stairs were rotting. They were fuzzy due to lack of direct sunlight.
Struggled to find a room late at night while traveling. They had a room available. In very bad need of cleaning and remodeling.
This is a run down, dirty place. The beds were sagging, the carpet dirty, the furnishings old, the shower rod broken - This is at best a 2 start and really a one star. The parking is horrible with a long walk outdoors to building 5 where my room was. Please take this off your 3 star rating.
Staff was Awesome and surprisingly helpful, friendly, and courteous. The evening check in clerk Arminta was exceptional. Breakfast was very well stocked and variety provided a good selection for all breakfast styles. Breakfast area TV a tad too loud in eating area. But that's just.

No tv. No hot water. No human life in the hotel. Do not go there Couldn't take a shower. Couldn't watch TV. No amenities. Should close while doing renovations. Or let guests stay for free
Location and Architecture Needs a facelift
I was shocked that the room we stayed in had a terrible smell of old furniture. Our TV was not a flat screen that's all I want to express at time. I was not happy with my stay at all. Our room smelled of old furniture and our TV was not a flat screen.
I needed a room with two beds and the hotel where my conference was did not have any rooms with two beds available at the time I tried to reserve. The Grand did, and for slightly less than the other hotel's special conference rate. My criteria for a hotel room is that the door locks, the bed is clean, the toilet works, and the shower works. Well, the bed was clean and the shower worked. In the morning after checkin, the toilet didn't flush because the tank wasn't filling. And it's not because the flapper valve was letting the water drain into the commode, it's because there was no water flowing into the tank at all. On the way out, I notified the front desk. Upon returning to the hotel later in the day, when I flushed the toilet, the pipes resonated and sounded exactly like a foghorn for the 2 minutes or so it took to fill the toilet tank. Calls to the font desk to report this (and to let them hear it) went unanswered. I reported this in person at the front desk on my way out again. For the rest of the stay (three more nights) the toilet intermittently sounded its foghorn and leaked water onto the bathroom floor. The floor was wet until we checked out. As for the door, it locked, but getting it unlocked was the problem. We had about 5 or 6 pairs of keys made during our stay (only one of which was my fault for leaving the keys in the room). Every time a key was made to maintenance to check on the toilet, it disabled all the other existing keys. And of course, staff also seems to make one-day keys without bothering to ask how long the stay is so that the key will work until checkout. I wouldn't have stayed here in the first place had the right room been available in the other hotel (within walking distance), and despite the allowances for the fact that renovations are going on, I don't think I'll be back.
The room was spacious and clean. was worried about bed bugs b/c one reviewer claimed to have caught bedbugs there. I did not notice any sign of bedbugs.
Absolutely nothing. This was a TERRIBLE hotel. I left after three hours due to safety concerns. There was a huge blood stain in the hallway. Bed bugs. markings on the wall. Lotion splattered on the mirrors. Fixtures falling apart. HOLES in the ceiling and walls. Hookers downstairs. There was NO lobby. Did not look like ANY of the pictures you or the website advertised. I was mortified. No security whatsoever.
Missed my wake up call. I specifically went down to the desk and asked for one. Not cool I almost missed my morning meeting. No am breakfast options. Kinda old and dingy
The check in process was smooth and easy as expected. Double Tree/ Grand Hotel Dayton downtown was a disappointment. The check in process was smooth and easy as expected. The condition of the room was a disappointment to say the least. I am going to be specific with my list my numerous points to this comment beginning with the room temperature that was never completely fix even after we brought this to the staffs attention. The floor underneath the carpeting was loose and bowed. This presented a serious trip hazard. One of old windows could not be locked to eliminate the cold chill coming into the room. One of the closet doors did not have the mechanism attracted to the door allowing the door to hang in the track. The celling had water spots in the room and in the lobby. There was derby and dead bugs alongside, behind and underneath the bed and bath room vanity. The parking garage did not have entrances into the hotel or a stairway to enter in to the hotel. We were forced to walk down the ramp or use the outside stairs to gain access to the ground floor entryway. I have photographic evidence to support all of my concerns. It is my understanding that Hilton is in the process of assuming ownership of this facility. I wish the Hilton chain that I use when I travel for business and pleasure good luck on bringing this hotel up to the Hilton standard.
It is right downtown in Dayton, so if for some reason you are here for business it is convenient. Oh where to start? Our door handle for the room fell off, the closet door was completely unattached, the view from our window looked directly into another room about 4 feet away. Nothing in the hotel, with the exception of the elevators, works. Even the entrance to the parking garage is closed.
Non smoking facility! Staff were polite, quiet night (you never know when traveling). My son thought the eggs 'taste like paste.' The beds were kind of hard and the pillows not great. Woke with a headache and kink in my neck (should have taken my own pillow).
Great shower, linens, bed comfort, clean room. Everything was fine. No issues. I found I objections at all. Everything was fine.
The breakfast is great. Cannot access wifi in the room, but it works well in lobby.

Price was good, room was clean. only negative thing was when a house keeper kinocked on the door and immediately swiped the door key and entered the room. it was only 6 seconds!! I was startled she entered so quickly! Was she expecting the room to be empty? fishy
The quality of the foot could have been better. The bananas that were placed out (3 days) were over ripe and looked sorry. The breakfast menu choices could be improved with offerings of cut up fresh fruits, such as strawberries, cantaloupe, berries. Eggs, bacon and pancakes were not kept warm in the serving containers.

Nothing I should have listened to my instinct and walked away but, I discided to give it a chance. Once I got to the room you could tell it was cleaned but had permitted stains on funiture. So I didn't complain because I figured they did the best they could given that besides the stains it was decently clean. The nightmare stared that night. After I got back to the room after stepping out for a few hours I realized that the TV did not work. I called down to tell them. They told me someone was coming to fix it , and they never did. Then, I went to turn on the heat and it only blew out luke-warm/ cold air. I call them about it and not one came or offers any consultation. Then, they don't have real comfortors on the bed so, I called again and asked if I could get one. I was told that they do not have comfortors and that they use a "3 blanket system". So I asked if I could have another blanket, he responded " you will have to wait til 9 until the housekeeper gets here". Lastly, there was no shower curtain in the bathroom and I didn't notice until morning when I go ready to take one. When I go ready to check out I talk manager he was very rude but did offer me another night but I declined
I am a Dayton native, so I can say that you cannot beat this location. It is on 75, and an exit from 70. That gets you just about everywhere you need to be in the greater Dayton area. About 15mins from downtown, 20 to WSU or UD, about 20mins from one of the 3 malls. But of course, the selling point is all the restaurants in the area. Parking was kinda tight, and travelling to and from the hotel can be a nightmare because of all the restaurant traffic. The facility was good, but the TVs and cable service was not very good. I know it's a small thing for some.
No swimming pool
Great location and price. I found that there was enough parking, and it was easy to jump in the car and head to the city. Lots of dining options on the street, too. Room is very outdated and no attempt at decoration. Carpet was wet with some unknown liquid. The bathroom sink barely drained. The "breakfast" is little more than a kiosk with oatmeal and lukewarm water. This is minimalist as far as hotels are concerned, but the price is lower than others in the area.
