Rooms were very comfortable and breakfast was a treat. Front desk staff was extremely helpful. She let me check in early. Great location for Keeneland and U.K. football, Rupp arena, etc. Property under construction, but that happens everywhere.
Building looks up to date and nice. Breakfast was good and crew was nice. It is a good place that just needs a bit more attention to detail. The bathroom needed a bit more attention when cleaning. It was very crusty behind the faucet on the sink and around the tub caulking. The sheets and pillowcases looked like they had not been changed. Surely they were, but it could be that the sheets had lipstick spots that didn't come out in the wash. I think they just need to look at what they are doing a little better.
This place is gross. There was a kitchen fire and it is under construction. All the workers stand by the entrances smoking and eating the weak continental breakfast. Do not take your kids unless you want them to learn how to swear. Also, was watching the news when I woke up, and the Waffle House next door was just recently robbed. Stay away.
This is a perfect location if you need a clean and comfortable place while passing through. The pillows were crummy.
Not really a lot to like about this place. Worst hotel experience of my life. I entered my room to find a prescription pill laying in the middle of the floor, a bathroom garbage can that had not been emptied, and a dirty stained duvee. I decide to venture to the pool and the pool itself was not bad. The locker / restroom was another story. There was mold everywhere, it looked like the roof has been leaking for a long time. It was dis colored and looked like it was about to fall in. Leaving the pool area through the courtyard I found that none of the outside doors to enter back into the main part of the hotel were open or in working order. I nearly froze walking all the way around the hotel. 4 doors and none of them were in working order. I was on the first floor which was supposed to be a no smoking floor but the entire thing smelled like an ashtray. The TV channel guide had about 40 channels listed. 8 worked (sometimes). All in all it was a horrible experience. I will not ever stay at a Ramada again, nor will I recommend them to any business acquaintances.
We had everything we needed -- a comfortable bed to sleep in for the night at a price we liked. There was a power outage during our stay -- it made getting ready a bit difficult. It also made breakfast a little complicated -- coffee ran out, toasters didn't work, etc. The hotel is undergoing renovations, but I'd assume a generator or some form of backup would be available.
Was too much noise near pool hall in restaurant. Other than that, ok..

Clean rooms but very slow WiFi. Not good for streaming or fast browsing. Need to increase speed immediately or don't stay if you need to save money on phone charges.
Place had a fire several weeks ago...that should be added to the website to properly inform potential customers.
The hotel was easy to find, and very affordable. Decent breakfast. For the cost, it was worth it. After sitting on the bed in my room, I realized that the pillow-top mattress was FLIPPED OVER (who would do that??? why???), and I was sitting on the hard under-surface. I had to take off the sheets and flip it back over (with the help of family), and re-make the bed. When I called to let the front desk know, the staff basically said "sorry, I have no idea why that would be" and didn't offer any other platitudes. It was all very, very strange. Either someone in housekeeping is completely clueless about mattresses, or they just don't care. A guest shouldn't have to re-make the bed after arriving to a fresh hotel room.
Love the setting and the staff. The bar area is very nice for socializing. The food is very good too! No coffee maker in the room. Phone did not work right. On a positive note, the kitchen gave us a free pot of coffee. Breakfast is advertised as part of the package, but only continental as you had to pay $5 more per person for the breakfast Buffett. This was my second stay and was a little disappointed this time around.

Indoor out door pool Did not like a joining room , or that refrigerators are only available upon request. For three hundred bucks per night I could have done much better.
The staff was very friendly. I really liked the on site restaurant. The locations was very convenient. The bathroom in my room was a little dated and dingy.
We found the service to be good. The room was clean and parking was relatively easy. I think we lucked out in the timing. We had a very quiet stay, but the room came with ear plugs. Maybe guests should check what events are happening at Rupp Arena before booking.
Very nice decoration
The location was great, the rooms were comfortable. The staff was accommadating when I called requesting to check in early. The room could have been a bit cleaner. I saw floss on the floor between the bathroom and the room which was not from me. It is nice being in the city center but it is also very loud, they do offer ear plugs though. Lots of sirens in the city.
good location, good linens, good on-site restaurant and bar. Need more window sound insulation, I had to change rooms after first night due to both traffic and HVAC noise that was so bad that I did not get any sleep. first room smelled like it had been smoked in. Second room was much better for traffic and no HVAC noise. Very noisy door slam sounds down the hallway and generally thin walls, could hear people in room next door sneeze and converse. My last stay at Hyatt in Cambridge, MD was far superior to this property.
We liked everything about our stay, from the comfortable room to the gorgeous pool. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
They did not have the room we had reserved- we had to accept a different room type. Was told that can happen if you don't reserve directly with the hotel. The next morning we were woke up to alarms going off and made to stand outside for 30 mins while the fire department clear the hotel because of a false alarm (something wrong with system).
Room was clean, spacious, and nice
Front desk staff very nice. No wifi entire stay. Everyday the room had not been cleaned incorrectly.One day they emptied only one trash can.next day they didn't leave any wash cloths. They didn't have any ink to make any copies then they changed me $1.00 to make the copies but if they had wifi I could of printed my own copies. .
I had never heard of the Guesthouse Inn and Suites. I saw that they had been recently renovated within the year (according to the desk clerk). I've stayed at "recently renovated" places before, but this was very nice. I brought a group of teens and we had a nice time. Breakfast was perfect. The rooms were very nice and clean. There are no elevators. We had large suitcases, but strong young backs so we could handle it. An elevator install would be good. Probably would cost the hotel $100,000, but would be more appealing to return guests with physical limitations. We had to ask for soap for the sinks in the room which we thought was kind of funny.
A slight musty smell in the room
Nearly everything. The hotel is cute, cozy, and the staff are very nice. The rooms are GREAT, with everything we could want and laid out very well. The value for the money far exceeded our expectations and we will stay here again when we return to the area, as well as recommend it to others. We didn't stay on the 2nd floor, but it seems that lack of an elevator could be a problem for some. A larger coffee bar would also be nice for such a cute place, and a better waffle maker for breakfast.

Whole hotel decorated with a horse theme. Really cool modern art prints and sculptures of horses/racing items. The beds were really clean and comfortable. Two kinds of pillows, firm or squishy. Rooms were really beautifully decorated, and new feeling. Included larger fridge, microwave, coffee maker, desk, club chair. In a two queen room, bathroom was separated from room by a door. The double sinks are in the outer room though. It was helpful to be able to brush teeth while others used bathroom! Breakfast was waffle machine, cereals, muffins, juice, coffee– no proteins. Staff very friendly AND helpful. (Thanks again to the housekeeper that helped me fill my ice bag for the car. This busy Mom was trying to do too much with not enough hands!) Pool looked really nice, indoors and clean. Okay y'all, the neighborhood was not so great. Lots of riffraff wandering around between the gas station/kwik shop and the motels parking lot. Parking lot was well lit and our car was not disturbed but don't think to wander over to the McDonalds or Gas station with the kids. And SKIP the Waffle House! Worst food ever, guh.
Average at best. Stairs! Really! The so called continental breakfast was disappointing with what was offered. The service person was even worse. Not their fault though. Hard to run the check in counter and the breakfast room at the same time. Better to go to MacDonald's next door.
The entire staff was exceptional. A wonderful place to stay.
Pool, managers rception We booked online and while we had a confirmation, they didn't show it. Staff called booking agency and got into a heated discussion in front of us. Told them that is not the way they (E.S.) does business, but they'll let us have a room this time. I think they would have put us in the basement if possible. At the managers reception my wife went up at 7:29 and was told that she had one minute to order instead of simply servicing the customer my wife felt like she was imposing. Brakfast the next morning was the same, it ends at 9:30 on weekdays and they were literally taking the tongs from my hands at 9:28. Pool was nice, patrons had left used towels and empty cups and bottles laying around the pool and gym area
A separate door so that you can have your privacy in the bedroom. I did not realize that the pool would be closed I was looking forward to it

Looked nice. Close to the interstate. My wife and I were traveling with our 1 yr old daughter for a wedding in Lexington. Our baby got sick that night so instead of trying to get her to sleep in a strange place we decided to pack up and head home. Because we were in such a rush and focused on our child, we left 3 of my wife's shirts hanging in the armoire. We called back to the hotel as soon as we realized this the next morning and were told housekeeping "did not find these items". There is no doubt where we left them. If they could not be found the next day, it's because housekeeping had taken them. It was our mistake for leaving items behind and I'm sure the hotel has a policy relieving them of responsibility for lost items, but I would expect human decency and professionalism to come before 'policy'.

Beautiful decor and hotel. Decent location if you're visiting in town for work or pleasure. Booked for my spouse to take a short two-day break. There was ample noise, from both ambient sources like plumbing, and guest noise from the hallway and adjacent rooms to keep my spouse from relaxing. Indoor pool was down for maintenance, and unable to use. Bugs frequented both the bathroom and hallways. Nothing too serious, but definitely noticeable. I also requested, by calling directly, that they not share the bill with the guest (my spouse). This was supposed to be a nicer hotel, and the nicer price tag came with it. However, I knew my spouse would not appreciate the accompanying cost. They still gave a bill and that only aggravated the unpleasant stay.

We had such a fun weekend in Lexington! I loved that Campbell House was so close to downtown- it took us about 10 minutes to drive in to all the shops and bars. The lobby was beautiful, our room was perfectly adequate. The set up of the hotel is a little confusing, but upon checking in, I was given a map of the grounds so I could find my way around. My only real complaint is that the halls and elevator were really dark.

The location was within walking distance to about everything. The only positive. The room was small and had no refrigerator. The air didn't get that cold and something in the room made my nose congested and I could not sleep. This went away almost instantly after I went outside. Also you have to pay $10 a night to park in the garage. For Hilton money shouldn't you get a parking spot? I think so. Won't be back.
The location was terrific. We were in Lexington for a wedding and there was a UK basketball game so traffic and parking were difficult. We couldn't be guaranteed a parking spot. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Parking and check in. I booked through booking.com and prepaid 6 months in advance. I reserved 3 rooms and they couldn't find my reservation. Told me I had to call booking.com even though I had a paper receipt. It took me an hour and 15 minutes to check in!
Room was nice and large tv was new. Bed was hard me and my wife hardly got any sleep. Would have slept on the couch but it was worse then the bed.
Shower water pressure was too weak.
The staff was nice. The room wasn't very clean. The caulk in the tub was dirty, and the carpet was stained.

99% of the time I stay at Hyatt Place. I don't even compare prices of other places. I always have a great experience when I stay there so why mess with perfection! I called in the morning an said I would be a late arrival. Was told not a problem had till 7am. Arrived only to be snapped at "they didn't think we were coming so I marked as no show."Woken up the next morning 3x stating we were supposed to check out by 12, 2x by maid then by front desk. Had to get dressed and take receipt to front desk showing we paid for 2 nights. Got to the desk and we're told "not sure why u were awoken we have u down for 2 nights." At this point my head almost popped off! Worst Hyatt stay I have ever had!! I will def start comparing other places after this disaster.

We loved staying at Hyatt Place for our weekend away! The rooms were great. Room service was tasty and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay here again Was advertised a single queen bed on the website and when I got to the hotel they only had two queen rooms. We gracile with a small child that sleeps in a pack and play so the room was a bit more crowded than we hoped it would be.
We enjoyed the hotel in general. There was a simple breakfast every morning (the kind people have come to expect with greasy food and few healthy options). The fitness area was small but clean. Rooms were also clean. The pool was completely out of towels one morning. Three separate people went the the front desk and informed them. No success after 30 min... Had to use the small hand towels from the fitness room. One day we left our room at 7:00 AM and returned after 2PM to find that it was exactly the way we left it. Apparently they didn't feel it should be cleaned or provided with fresh towels.
Late-night check in staff was very nice and helpful. Everything worked fine. Location was nice. Hotel seemed a little "worn". Had problems with toilet, but it ended up working fine. Paid $125 and was expecting a more modern hotel.
Staff friendliness made up for the just ok accommodations. Under renovations and just felt like I had a roof to sleep under. Nothing fancy no wow factor.

I had never stayed at a La Quinta hotel before and did know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised with their spacious rooms, nice beds, well lit, and very functional rooms for a business traveler! I will definitely stay there again! I can not think of any way La Quinta disappointed me! It was a very nice stay!

Friendly staff, room was generally of the quality level expected for this chain. Parking is well lit and has security cameras. Noisy - you will hear a lot of noise from the rooms on either side of you as well as from the hallway. Also, there is a "gentlemen's club" two doors down (and between the hotel and the highway). It is subtlely named Spearmint Rhino, so you might be able to trick children and the elderly into thinking that it is a wildlife habitat sponsored by the Wrigley gum company. *sarcasm*
The staff was very friendly, rooms are extremely nice. Breakfast was good with hot and cold food. out of O.J. but that happens.
We liked the location . It was close to the highway and not far from downtown lexington. There was also an amazing park just down the road. The rooms didn't have exhaust fans in the bathroom. The first room we were in was so damp and musty. The second room was better but our beding was still damp.
The customer service was excellent. Some of the equipment in the fitness center was old and worn.
Was a good value for the price. Amenities were just fine for a quick business trip. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were clean. Fitness center was weak point - not even a treadmill, just an ancient elliptical that felt and sounded like it was about to fall apart when I got on. Location was odd - nice wineries and horse farms nearby, but also right next to a "gentleman's" club and two cars got broken into in the parking lot the night I stayed. Not really close to anything except the highway.
This hotel appears to be a newer property. All of the public spaces were neat, clean and very appealing. My room was spacious, clean, the bed was soft and comfortable, the desk area was well designed and it had excellent WiFi. The breakfast was disappointing. Definitely not up to the standards of other La Quinta Inn hotels in which I've stayed. Also, the location is on a freeway interchange which was convenient, BUT it was 4+ miles to restaurants and shopping.
I was very impressed with the staff and how accommodating they were. Top-of-the-line hospitality as well as convenient bar and restaurant located in the lobby. Close to everything downtown and valet parking! Unfortunately I had an issue with being double-charged. Normally this would not be an issue, but for whatever reason the hold on my card kept me from staying at another hotel later in the week which was very inconvenient. Had it not been a holiday weekend this would not have upset me as much as it did.

Great room for the price. Comfortable bed. Great water pressure (I know it's weird to note that, but it's better than most hotels I've stayed in). Overall layout was good. There were a lot of VERY noisy guests on the floor that were yelling loud enough to wake us up at 4am. I know the hotel can't control this, but it marred an otherwise great stay.
The location was perfect. Even though the beds were comfortable, they were full size and too short for my 6 foot husband. The room was huge, but needs work done (ceiling peeling, carpet is old and had a bump in it).

Room looked like a well-kept retirement facility. Good breakfast in the morning. Clean. Room had no AC and the window was painted shut. No one mentioned it upon check-in. Night concierge couldn't speak English. Morning concierge wasn't able to help and asked me to call back later. Wasn't able to, so no idea if they would've been helpful.
The rooms smelled clean and well kept. I liked that I had a couch in my room! I liked the location next to a major street, and I liked that there was some kind of breakfast included. Mini fridge in room, decent internet, two tvs, plenty of closet/drawer space. The staff is super friendly though seemed to be harried and overworked (often times there was no one at the desk). Really nice people though. I liked that they kept the dining area open even when the breakfast wasn't on so you could go get a plate or plasticware for take-out and coffee. The cleaning staff did some odd things: such as cleaning my coffee pot, but not doing anything else (not making the bed for instance). I hated the hot portion of the breakfast and wished there was something other than mushroom gravy on biscuits! Lots of little things were a bit off - like the placement of the fridge made it such that you had to tip it over to be able to open it, the majority of the lighting in the room was fluorescent bulbs which is a really depressing kind of lighting.
Friendly staff; great location to all points in Lexington Holes in the towels, bath mat, bed blankets; one lamp in the room wouldn't turn on despite LED light bulbs in it; TV would not go on with the remote and had to be manually switched to channel 3 before cable came on.

Room looked really good, bed was very clean and so amazingly comfortable. Seriously i slept so good. You need to bring your credit card, but the online service didnt tell me that and they still let me stay.
Everything was very nasty I had someone to bang on my window at 3 in the morning .
Old smelled weird
This hotel was an excellent value for the cost. We got a King bed room for less that $50 on a weeknight. This included free wifi and a free modest breakfast the next day. Room was clean and the staff were exceptionally friendly. It is also located near a Wal-Mart, Fedex store and Starbucks right off the highway so the location is good to boot!
Reasonable rates for a decent quality room. Don't expect much else. Rooms clean and water hot and facilities nice and in good order. TV only received 1 channel. Had 2 remotes in the room and neither worked. Phones kept ringing in the middle of the night waking us up. I finally unplugged them. We were in a party of 8 in 4 rooms and the door keys had issues several times with the others. We stayed several days.
The hotel had been remodeled. Staff was friendly. Bed was very comfortable. The faucet in the tub leaked. Trim work and construction details were average. Could be better.
Location was perfect for what we needed. The price was also reasonable. Bathroom was very clean. The internet connection was amazingly good. Given key to a room that was already occupied when we checked in at 1am, opening the door on a sleeping couple. Additionally we thought Howard Johnson had a reputation for good breakfast, but in our experience here it was lacking much of the variety offered at similarly priced locations. I happened to pull back the dresser to look for an additional outlet for my computer accessories, and when I did I found toiletries misplaced by previous occupants.
It was cool to have an indoor and outdoor pool. The room was clean. Free bottle of water when we go into the room. Pretty cool that they had the shampoo conditioner and the body wash built up into a dispensers inside the shower. The staff was very friendly. Pretty cool that they played music when we came and left. The bed was very uncomfortable. Hard as a rock. The pool really need to have some repair done to it. Looks like it was cheaply done some repairs done with putty. The pool also had sharp pieces of something around the bottom of the pool. The music in the pool area was cutting in and out. Not enough towels in the pool area. The pillows could have been a little bit thicker.

Nice lobby, great location right off of high way. Mold on ceiling in restroom. We were locked out of our room, went to the front desk to get new key cards, the new key cards didn't work either. Went back to the desk, and the gentleman walked up with us to the room to try and let us in. He couldn't get in either. When he called the handyman, the handyman had said that he knew exactly what room we were referring to. This had clearly been an issue. Room should not have been rented out. We had to switch rooms in the middle of the night. We were promised a free breakfast and reimbursement for our room. Neither one happened. Will not return.
The staff is very friendly and professional and the beds are very comfortable. This hotel is my first choice when I have business at the Kentucky Horse Park.
Cheap price Dated, trash in trash can, mirror not clean, hand prints on restroom door, carpets stained in the room. I would not stay there again even with the cheap price.
This place was unacceptable for the price. The floor was empty waiting construction. There were no security lights in back parking lot. Had to park in fro t and walk entire property to get to the room. Never received the wake up call requested which describes the stay perfectly. There was an embassy suites property across the street for the same rate. Wasn't aware it was so close. Stayed there before which was great. Probably so t ever book a room this way again. Was very upset. There wasn't even anyone there worth complaining to about it. Should get a full refund. Terrible!
Spacious suite, comfortable bed Smelled like mold, difficult location to get to off of road
Rooms were much larger than expected, with an entry suite area with a pull out couch and wet bar before you even entered the bedroom. Location is near major roads, one mile from Country Boy Brewery, and half a mile from a racino. Google maps takes you to the closed road behind the hotel, without a way to get to the entrance or parking lot. You have to go out to a main road and take a few lefts across traffic to get there. This happened to us and our Uber driver.
Close proximity to our son's townhouse and the University. Tons of homeless/panhandlers. Price was quite a bit higher, but we didn't realize that there was a UK Bball game that night, so I guess it makes sense.
nice & convenient to UK; nice desk folks friday night at check in. Saturday morning there was no hot water. The hotel was full of families attending a UK-Merit weekend, where students and families basically registered for the fall. It was a Friday evening and Saturday event that began it's Sat portion at 8am sharp. You can imagine the grumpy discomfoprt of a hotel full of people who had no hot showers to start the day. Everyone under stands that mechanical things do break down. The poor desk clerk on sat morning was not prepared for this problem, could only call the maintenance person. The general manager was conveniently not in until 9am, an hour after all of these disgruntled adn showerless folks were gone to the University program. The the ownership and management of this property should make a gesture to the customer in the form of a significant discount in this instance. We have many brands to choose from-we choose Marriott for its promise of quality and customer service. We pay higher room rates for expectations of a level of quality service, which in this case was not delivered.
