Beautiful decor and hotel. Decent location if you're visiting in town for work or pleasure. Booked for my spouse to take a short two-day break. There was ample noise, from both ambient sources like plumbing, and guest noise from the hallway and adjacent rooms to keep my spouse from relaxing. Indoor pool was down for maintenance, and unable to use. Bugs frequented both the bathroom and hallways. Nothing too serious, but definitely noticeable. I also requested, by calling directly, that they not share the bill with the guest (my spouse). This was supposed to be a nicer hotel, and the nicer price tag came with it. However, I knew my spouse would not appreciate the accompanying cost. They still gave a bill and that only aggravated the unpleasant stay.
Under reconstruction. Noisy. Windows covered in opaque plastic
We had a wonderful romantic weekend that could not have had a better atmosphere. Thank you.
Looked nice. Close to the interstate. My wife and I were traveling with our 1 yr old daughter for a wedding in Lexington. Our baby got sick that night so instead of trying to get her to sleep in a strange place we decided to pack up and head home. Because we were in such a rush and focused on our child, we left 3 of my wife's shirts hanging in the armoire. We called back to the hotel as soon as we realized this the next morning and were told housekeeping "did not find these items". There is no doubt where we left them. If they could not be found the next day, it's because housekeeping had taken them. It was our mistake for leaving items behind and I'm sure the hotel has a policy relieving them of responsibility for lost items, but I would expect human decency and professionalism to come before 'policy'.
Pool, managers rception We booked online and while we had a confirmation, they didn't show it. Staff called booking agency and got into a heated discussion in front of us. Told them that is not the way they (E.S.) does business, but they'll let us have a room this time. I think they would have put us in the basement if possible. At the managers reception my wife went up at 7:29 and was told that she had one minute to order instead of simply servicing the customer my wife felt like she was imposing. Brakfast the next morning was the same, it ends at 9:30 on weekdays and they were literally taking the tongs from my hands at 9:28. Pool was nice, patrons had left used towels and empty cups and bottles laying around the pool and gym area
Comfortable beds...and we very much like the sitting room separate from the bedroom. Restaurant food at dinner could be improved
The entire staff was exceptional. A wonderful place to stay.
Convenient location Super clean Restaurants close by Family friendly Helpful staff N/A
Low water pressure in shower Only one working elevator
First room smelled of smoke so the upgraded us. That was very accomodating. Silly that breakfast costs so much.
Indoor out door pool Did not like a joining room , or that refrigerators are only available upon request. For three hundred bucks per night I could have done much better.
Love the setting and the staff. The bar area is very nice for socializing. The food is very good too! No coffee maker in the room. Phone did not work right. On a positive note, the kitchen gave us a free pot of coffee. Breakfast is advertised as part of the package, but only continental as you had to pay $5 more per person for the breakfast Buffett. This was my second stay and was a little disappointed this time around.
beautiful facility; courteous staff Internet access should be included in the price of the room; even Days Inn and Super 8 have managed to do it, you'd think Marriott could.
The location was within walking distance to about everything. The only positive. The room was small and had no refrigerator. The air didn't get that cold and something in the room made my nose congested and I could not sleep. This went away almost instantly after I went outside. Also you have to pay $10 a night to park in the garage. For Hilton money shouldn't you get a parking spot? I think so. Won't be back.
Comfortable bed Needs frig. Room smelled musty. Credit card swipe on vending machine in pool area didn't work. Small ice bucket.
The location was terrific. We were in Lexington for a wedding and there was a UK basketball game so traffic and parking were difficult. We couldn't be guaranteed a parking spot. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Parking and check in. I booked through booking.com and prepaid 6 months in advance. I reserved 3 rooms and they couldn't find my reservation. Told me I had to call booking.com even though I had a paper receipt. It took me an hour and 15 minutes to check in!
Super comfortable, clean and surprisingly quiet! 20 mins from Keeneland and KY Horse Park and farm tours. Easy drives. Tough to find. Google maps takes you into the Lowe's parking lot. You might put an entrance in off their lot if they will let you.
sorry too expensive and room service very slack... didn't replace the toilet paper. see above. way way way too expensive
Close to skating rink. Uncomfortable beds
The price was right and the location was great. Nice roomy showers and a clean vanity top. The rooms still had the dated dark colored patterned duvets with cigarette burns.
Everything was great Everything location mostly
It was close to where we needed to go the next day. No continental breakfast
Great location with a variety of restaurants, stores, etc. nearby. More room than we needed, but that was my fault.

For the price of a hotel room you get a nice suite or 1 bedroom unit. The location is convenient (adjacent to I-75) as there are good restaurants and shopping nearby. The place was clean and the staff was polite.
I liked the separate living spaces, with two tvs, a work stations in the bedroom and at the kitchen table. The rooms were exceptionally quiet, we were never even aware if we had neighbors or if anyone else was even staying on the same floor. The breakfast was a little cold. Though I imag keeping the eggs warm in those catering tins is hard. The bed, for me, was really too soft and so were the pillows. But those are personal preferences.
Rooms are very nice and the bed was super comfortable! We had a king suite which included a full size refrigerator, dishwasher with real dishes and a cook top! The breakfast that was included was pretty good for a 'free' breakfast. The hotel was located near restaurants and shopping. It was right off the expressway in a nice area, close enough to downtown and the race track. We really enjoyed our stay at the Homewood Suites. We'd also suggest eating at Malone's which is a steakhouse, pub and sushi bar all in one that is right near the hotel. The steak and service was excellent!
Very quiet. Very relaxing.
Location to Lexington and interstate- The suites are large Air unit was noisy and road noise from outside was annoying- rooms facing east have to all have this problem.

The hotel was perfectly located for us. The staff were amazing and made sure that all was well. Very friendly. It was our first time at a Homewood Suites and we are sold! The suite was clean, well cared for and a pleasure to stay at. The breakfasts and supper swere really good! We will be returning again this Fall/Early Winter.
We had to stay here while our Lexingtonhome was being renovated, and for the price and features of the hotel and room it was acceptable. Really liked having a fridge and freezer and most of the necessity for home cooking, saved us a lot of grocery money. Biggest complaint was the strong smell of cigarette smoke throughout our stay, even though we were in a no-smoking room. Overall not very clean, not filthy, but then I do have high standards. Place needs to be renovated.
Very nice hotel. Loved the ceiling fan!!
Great staff Out dated
Great room for the price. Comfortable bed. Great water pressure (I know it's weird to note that, but it's better than most hotels I've stayed in). Overall layout was good. There were a lot of VERY noisy guests on the floor that were yelling loud enough to wake us up at 4am. I know the hotel can't control this, but it marred an otherwise great stay.
The location was perfect. Even though the beds were comfortable, they were full size and too short for my 6 foot husband. The room was huge, but needs work done (ceiling peeling, carpet is old and had a bump in it).
Room looked like a well-kept retirement facility. Good breakfast in the morning. Clean. Room had no AC and the window was painted shut. No one mentioned it upon check-in. Night concierge couldn't speak English. Morning concierge wasn't able to help and asked me to call back later. Wasn't able to, so no idea if they would've been helpful.
Friendly staff; great location to all points in Lexington Holes in the towels, bath mat, bed blankets; one lamp in the room wouldn't turn on despite LED light bulbs in it; TV would not go on with the remote and had to be manually switched to channel 3 before cable came on.
The rooms smelled clean and well kept. I liked that I had a couch in my room! I liked the location next to a major street, and I liked that there was some kind of breakfast included. Mini fridge in room, decent internet, two tvs, plenty of closet/drawer space. The staff is super friendly though seemed to be harried and overworked (often times there was no one at the desk). Really nice people though. I liked that they kept the dining area open even when the breakfast wasn't on so you could go get a plate or plasticware for take-out and coffee. The cleaning staff did some odd things: such as cleaning my coffee pot, but not doing anything else (not making the bed for instance). I hated the hot portion of the breakfast and wished there was something other than mushroom gravy on biscuits! Lots of little things were a bit off - like the placement of the fridge made it such that you had to tip it over to be able to open it, the majority of the lighting in the room was fluorescent bulbs which is a really depressing kind of lighting.
Staff was very welcoming, always had a smile.
Polite and helpful staff, clean and quiet room. Excellent choice for a low-budget room. Our bathroom door did not fit its frame and could not be closed.
Rooms were very comfortable and breakfast was a treat. Front desk staff was extremely helpful. She let me check in early. Great location for Keeneland and U.K. football, Rupp arena, etc. Property under construction, but that happens everywhere.
Was too much noise near pool hall in restaurant. Other than that, ok..
This place is gross. There was a kitchen fire and it is under construction. All the workers stand by the entrances smoking and eating the weak continental breakfast. Do not take your kids unless you want them to learn how to swear. Also, was watching the news when I woke up, and the Waffle House next door was just recently robbed. Stay away.
hotel layout Room was filthy
Clean rooms but very slow WiFi. Not good for streaming or fast browsing. Need to increase speed immediately or don't stay if you need to save money on phone charges.
This is a perfect location if you need a clean and comfortable place while passing through. The pillows were crummy.
Building looks up to date and nice. Breakfast was good and crew was nice. It is a good place that just needs a bit more attention to detail. The bathroom needed a bit more attention when cleaning. It was very crusty behind the faucet on the sink and around the tub caulking. The sheets and pillowcases looked like they had not been changed. Surely they were, but it could be that the sheets had lipstick spots that didn't come out in the wash. I think they just need to look at what they are doing a little better.
The hotel was easy to find, and very affordable. Decent breakfast. For the cost, it was worth it. After sitting on the bed in my room, I realized that the pillow-top mattress was FLIPPED OVER (who would do that??? why???), and I was sitting on the hard under-surface. I had to take off the sheets and flip it back over (with the help of family), and re-make the bed. When I called to let the front desk know, the staff basically said "sorry, I have no idea why that would be" and didn't offer any other platitudes. It was all very, very strange. Either someone in housekeeping is completely clueless about mattresses, or they just don't care. A guest shouldn't have to re-make the bed after arriving to a fresh hotel room.
Not really a lot to like about this place. Worst hotel experience of my life. I entered my room to find a prescription pill laying in the middle of the floor, a bathroom garbage can that had not been emptied, and a dirty stained duvee. I decide to venture to the pool and the pool itself was not bad. The locker / restroom was another story. There was mold everywhere, it looked like the roof has been leaking for a long time. It was dis colored and looked like it was about to fall in. Leaving the pool area through the courtyard I found that none of the outside doors to enter back into the main part of the hotel were open or in working order. I nearly froze walking all the way around the hotel. 4 doors and none of them were in working order. I was on the first floor which was supposed to be a no smoking floor but the entire thing smelled like an ashtray. The TV channel guide had about 40 channels listed. 8 worked (sometimes). All in all it was a horrible experience. I will not ever stay at a Ramada again, nor will I recommend them to any business acquaintances.
The price was great. the room was fine. This was my 3rd time staying there & have had no complaints.
Place had a fire several weeks ago...that should be added to the website to properly inform potential customers.
Close to where we needed to be. Had a voucher to be their guest and they wouldn't except it because we reserved our room online. Safe was very unwilling to try and help us with the situation and the kitchen counter was covered in ants, drywall in the bathroom looked like a complete train wreck! One night is all I could handle never would suggest using this facility as an "extended stay"
The room was nice and the staff was excellent and very kind and polite. The people at the concierge desk were so great. I left something in our room and the woman at the desk was very quick at getting me back into our room so I could retrieve my stuff. Overall my stay was very pleasant and I felt I got my money's worth with the room. It wasn't a luxury hotel but it was really nice. The bathroom was a little dingy but not like unbearably so. More or less I think it was just that the shower head and stuff was kind of old and not so Much dirty.
The rooms smelled clean and I liked the wood floor. There were small burn holes in the top blankets but they looked clean. The locks on the doors didn't work well. It took a long time to get it to unlock and required a change of rooms at first. Some of the men in the rooms across from our were loud and some even broke some bottles, but no one bothered us and the heater was loud enough to cover their noises at night.
Everything was adequate! Nice staff and good service. Blankets had cigarette burn holes in them, and there was a smell of smoke in the rooms. Also, was inconvenient not to have a restaurant or continental breakfast available.
nice & convenient to UK; nice desk folks friday night at check in. Saturday morning there was no hot water. The hotel was full of families attending a UK-Merit weekend, where students and families basically registered for the fall. It was a Friday evening and Saturday event that began it's Sat portion at 8am sharp. You can imagine the grumpy discomfoprt of a hotel full of people who had no hot showers to start the day. Everyone under stands that mechanical things do break down. The poor desk clerk on sat morning was not prepared for this problem, could only call the maintenance person. The general manager was conveniently not in until 9am, an hour after all of these disgruntled adn showerless folks were gone to the University program. The the ownership and management of this property should make a gesture to the customer in the form of a significant discount in this instance. We have many brands to choose from-we choose Marriott for its promise of quality and customer service. We pay higher room rates for expectations of a level of quality service, which in this case was not delivered.
Rooms were much larger than expected, with an entry suite area with a pull out couch and wet bar before you even entered the bedroom. Location is near major roads, one mile from Country Boy Brewery, and half a mile from a racino. Google maps takes you to the closed road behind the hotel, without a way to get to the entrance or parking lot. You have to go out to a main road and take a few lefts across traffic to get there. This happened to us and our Uber driver.
Spacious suite, comfortable bed Smelled like mold, difficult location to get to off of road
Let see the only thing I can say nice about this hotel is that it was close to the highway. DO NOT STAY HERE. Find another hotel near by. The man at check in had to ask me a few times how long I would be staying. I think it was because he was to distracted with the young girls in the lobby. I was sure his eyes were going to pop out and he was going to start howling like on the cartoons. These are only the top issues we had with the hotel: There were crumbs of some kind of candy on the side of the bed. There was a small child who ran the halls until 3 A.M. When we called the front desk nothing came of it. I did try to talk to the mother to only come to find out that her family were the owners of the hotel. When we were getting on the elevator to leave this same child was on it along and pushing all of the buttons, so we had to visit each and every floor. Housekeeping knocked on our door several times starting at 8 A.M. When I would answer the door she looked the other way and would not make any eye contact or talk to me.
They were rude about the fact I had booked through a third party.
Comfort We had our dog w us. The room had been cleaned w some strong chemical. It was noxious.
Booked room for three people, was only given sleeping station for two.
Convenience, location We had to leave a day early due to an incoming snow storm.... we were charged for the day irregardless, without any consideration to the customer's safety nor willing to work with us.
The hotel is kept exceptionally clean, and is completely non-smoking. Our room was very well furnished and comfortable. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was exceptional. I also noted that they received a 100 on the health inspection score as posted in the breakfast room. I would definitely stay here any time I needed to stay a night in the area
I was truly shocked by the cleanliness of the rooms! That is my number one concern with any hotel. I was just passing through driving down South and needed a place to crash for the night. I literally booked my room about an hour before I checked in. It was right off the I-75 which is the road I was driving on so it was perfect! I was able to get my sleep and jump right back on the road. There are a couple places around that area that deliver food as well. Getting back to the room, it was extremely comfortable and very roomy! A/C worked great, television was perfect, bathrooms were shockingly clean, bathtubs had the extended curtains so I was able to move around without hitting my back, hair, arms, legs up against the wet nasty shower curtain! (Come on, I can't be the only one that hates that) By the way, did I mention the free breakfast? Pretty great! I was able to grab a yogurt, an apple, and a cup of orange juice and walk straight out to continue my journey! The hotel staff was very helpful and polite! In conclusion, I have been wrong my whole life! Now, I don't know if other Comfort Inn's are like this but now I am able to try them out! I was always hesitate to stay at a Comfort Inn! This Comfort Inn has changed that for me, for the better! I was very happy with my stay and will be staying here and only here anytime I will be having myself another road trip that passes through Lexington! If there is one thing at all that needs to be updated its the Internet. It was extremely slow but possibly just needed to be restarted. It still worked fine just was very slow. Other than that, it was a great first experience with Comfort Inn!
For the low price value I paid, my stay was well worth more. The room was clean, the facilities were clean, and the bed was absolutely comfortable. The staff was also extremely friendly! The pool was a tad bit too cold, but that's the only negative I can come up with.
Staff very helpful and friendly, welcoming
We stayed here when moving our son home from UK in May. The parking lot was big enough for us to park our U-Haul without crowding others. The staff was very helpful with suggestions for restaurants within waking distance.
conveient and quiet location, nice breakfast convenient and quiet location, nice breakfast what what else do youv want to know? touble getting some to let me use interenet after a very long time. not hotel's fault
I would not recommend this hotel. Our biggest disappointment was that the hot tub was cold. There is also a very busy train track right next to the hotel so it kept us up all night. Plus the walls are paper thin so we heard every time our neighbor got a cell phone call. The breakfast only lasts until 9:30 and when we went down around 9, it looked like a lot of it had been sitting out since the 6:30 start. We also had to go to the front desk for new keys four times in a two day stay because they kept not working.
Staff at the Holiday Inn Express Lexington Downtown were extremely helpful and pleasant at all times. The hotel was easy to find and close to the Convention site. I would recommend this hotel to any one interested in a very comfortable stay!!
nice room . friendly staff . clean . i stay there again .
This hotel is very convenient to both downtown and the restaurants/shopping on Nicholasville Road. There is a train that woke me several times during the night. The bed was nice but was very firm and I'm used to my Sleep Number bed being set on 'soft'. Maybe request a room further away from the train??
We had hoped the location was closer to downtown, as there was a festival going on, but maybe the distance was good, it was very quiet. It was a nice place to stay after a long day of travel.
It was classic and comfortable. Friendly staff and a good breakfast in the morning. My kids had fun in the in-door pool.
This hotel has nice staff and we've stayed there before. However, during this stay, they were replacing all the hallway wallpaper on all floors. This required spackling, removal of light fixtures, room numbers, etc. Therefore, there was a lot of dust (which made its way into the rooms) and there was the smell of the glue. No notice prior to our stay was given and we had no choice but to stay there. There was nothing done to compensate for the noise, the dust, the smell, and the workers were there all day, all weekend. We were quite disappointed from a previous stay.
Hotel was very nice and the staff was very accomadating. Clean room and atmosphere was very family oriented. Wonderful stay and would definelty recommend.
I read previous reviews and was able to request a room on the side of the hotel where I couldn't hear the trains. It was very quiet and very inviting. I love that they had internet in the room. Everything was clean and on point. I would definitely return to this hotel again the next time I drive through the town.
The staff was wonderful...warm and friendly. We are smokers and were able to find a smoking room that didn't at all smell like stale smoke when we arrived. The air conditioner was already on and the room cool when we arrived. The hotel was very clean and our stay was GREAT!!!! We will be making many trips to this destination and this is definitely were we will always stay.
