A very comfortable bed having to wait in line to get a breakfast table
Received room upgrade. Very good service
Leisure facilities £15 to pay for car parking. No mention of this until we had arrived. Staff could be a little overzealous. We received the bill for our evening meal before we had had our dessert and coffee and our table was cleared while we were getting our cooked breakfast
It was a disaster. We could not stay. We were given a room next to their waste hold area. The window would not open because all the rubbish bins were just outside. The room was tight and horrible. We left immediately. See our comments of 'what we liked'. Terrible hotel. Needs total modernisation, as location is good. Need new staff, training, etc. avoid staying there at all costs!
The hotel was very comfortable. The service in the restaurant for breakfast was not good.
Nice spacious room and spacious general areas staff were very obliging. Could not control temperature in room which got very hot. But in fairness that is a problem a lot of older hotels have.
The breakfast was very delightful, lot of choices and they do cater for vegetairans and those who use soya milk. The spa facilities were good. However, I would say that the hotel needs refurbishment and some area needs modernisation. Being told that we are limited to one towel each by one particular member in the spa club. This was not the case with other staff members.
I liked the atmosphere, facilities and the staff who were most helpful and friendly. I did experience some problems with accessing my room with the card that was provided to me. It often didn't work and this caused me some inconvenience. I would have been much better off with a good old fashioned key! However, the staff made every effort to resolve this problem by upgrading me to a different room with a sea view. I considered this to be outstanding customer service.
old world charm but shows signs of fading service in Oscars restaurant fell well below expected standard
Location was great. Very close to restraunts, parking, the Bournemouth Pier and Bournemouth Park However, if you are looking at the cheaper rooms you be better served by Premier Innnext door. Service was poor at the front desk and breakfast and breakfast whilst adequate was not at the quality I would have expected. Staff were very disjointed; my pregnant wife asked for some decaf-tea for our room and was advised "the bar might have some". Would have expected them to sort it out. Room location was in the back of beyond with stair only access. Cheaper rooms at this hotel not recommended.
The buffet breakfast was superb, especially the honeycomb. Im the first room we were given the central heating was not wotking and we had to move to another room, but nobody came to help us with our luggage and we had to carry it all ourselves - not what one expects from a 4-star hotel especially as my wife and I are in our late seventies
good customer service rooms quite small
The breakfast was very good The room was in the basement so no view. had to park your car across the road not in the car park in the hotel - even though you have to pay extra. the deal you had for booking on line was the same price if you booked on the day - not really a deal!!
Nice room veiw, nice bed, Lovely bar! no bad experiences!
Reception staff friendly and helpful, good sized room, clean, excellent sea view. Lovely breakfast and attentive waiting staff. Very good location. Found a good price through booking.com
It was directly across the road from the BIC where i was heading for an event, and it was an amazing feeling being able to have an amazing night out, and then to walk across the road and come home. Room was beautiful! I loved the mirror in the bathroom. No complaints, only to say that the parking is not behind the hotel, its over the road in the shopping mall centre - however saying that, the hotel give you a key and you can park in a secluded area.
Location, comfort, cleanliness, good food and friendliness of the staff
Plasant, good dealings with staff - very satisfactory from that side of things. Room was in good condition, very clean, but so small moving around was difficult.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was excellent with a sea view. We would definitely stay here again and I will be recommending the hotel to family and friends. Thank you very much for a very enjoyable stay whilst I was celebrating my special Birthday!
The hotel was very clean and the location was perfect for the beach and shopping.
Staff was excellent; when the heated towel rack in the bathroom didn't work, they upgraded our room. Bed was very comfortable. Shower was excellent (not in all rooms, but in the upgraded room). Wonderful location, with its view of the English Channel and a one minute walk to the pier. Five minutes to walk to the heart of a shopping district.
Great Hotel, ideal location, friendly staff.
The service Poor Meal had problems with understanding of a "blue" steak and the quality
Relaxing , clean and comfort, very nice breakfast and had a nice evening meal.also friendly staff
warm and convenient
Good location, friendly staff. Good choice of well cooked food for breakfast. Good service Hotel seems still to be under renovation, so work ongoing, but does not interfere, except for a strong smell of paint.
Peaceful, comfortable, pleasant decor and clean. Would have felt more comfortable with window covering for bathroom window - felt a little exposed at night/not sure what was directly outside.
The staff were very helpful and we were upgraded to a suite which was excellent. The hotel was very central just steps away from the BIC - the whole experience was perfect.
Very friendly hotel with helpful staff.Old fashioned but nicely maintained Stopped serving hot food at 8.30pm, so nothing except sandwiches on offer when we arrived after a long journey.
No thing The worst hotel I have been
Our room for the value was excellent. Lovely sea view. There is a limited amount of parking, but if anyone blocks you in they keep their keys and should move the car for you, so is not too much of a problem.
brilliant location, attentive staff , comfy room and very good food no
The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff a re friendly and helpful. My room was well equipped (the enormous corner bath was an unexpected treat!) and peaceful.
Our room was situated next to the lift and as a result we had a disturbed night with the doors constantly banging and people coming and going.
We only stayed for the one night, but the hotel was very welcoming, friendly, comfortable and the room we had was well worth the booking
It was central. The lifts were poor, and there were signs that the hotel is tatty and in need of a refit.
only one night but most impressed with the retention of the architechture, comfort, value, the breakfast possibly one of the best experienced due to little "touches"mushrooms best ever!!!room very good too.Cant wait to come back. nothing
The room was well appointed although felt the conservatory needed a face lift. The staff were very un welcoming and no one smiled.
Very pleasant staff, comfortable, clean room. Excellent location. Incredibly squeaky floorboards! Luckily I am a heavy sleeper :)
It had a bed where I could sleep I was disappointedin additional sums added to my bill I stayed there because there was an offer a friend joined me at breakfeast and beacause he had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs £ 20 was added to my account which I thought was steep
Near to BIC for the concerts
We were upgraded and stayed in the Saturn Suite. The food and drinks at 1812 were superb; staff was very friendly; great location, close to the shops, pier, BIC; room was spacious and clean, easily accessible parking. Having to walk for five minutes to get to our room, after opening five fire doors and having to go down stairs - that was a pain. Upon our arrival, around 1 a.m., we asked for some water and what we got was a plastic jar with water where ice and several other, unidentified objects were floating in it. Of course we didn't drink it and we didn't have the strength to head back to the reception, so the first night was hell on earth. Also, while the hotel advertises free wi-fi there was no signal in the room and we had to use the lobby.
comfortable relaxed atmosphere, close to activities, excellent breakfast and service
Easy access to every where such as BIC, beach and shopping
the amazing cocktail bar the cocktail staff
Staff were polite and efficient
Central Location , Nice room. In general the hotel was very pleasant Bathroom was antiquated.
Luke warm shower
Very friendly and pleasant staff, lovely room and cocktail bar excellent and great breakfast and convenient to town for shopping. Nothing to dislike. Have recommended hotel to friends and will definitely be going back.
location and facilities on site, both the so bar and 1812 are excellent, didnt need to leave the hotel.
comfortable freindly atmospere all satisfactory
Beautiful room with balcony, lovely restaurant, great ambience.
All facilities excellent including restaurantand service Could not gain access to balcony Directions to carparking not clear when booking
My son and I loved the layout, design of room, hotel, the sea views and accessiblity to Bournemouth center. The receptionist very helpful on arrival. Beds were rock hard and pillows to match. Having asked to be moved to a quiet room were given a lovely room but could hear baby crying in adjoining room through night. So both my son and I did not sleep well at all. No hangers for clothing and very little lighting for evening when dark.
Hotel Is Clean, rooms are really nice and a lot of space with great bathrooms.Beds are also comfortable. There's no room service available at the hotel and think they should review this some time in the future. Many people are awake late and want a snack or drink and the hotel doesint offer any.
Balcony doors in our room were locked and this meant there was no escape route other than the main door.We asked at reception and were told that the balconys had not passed the safety inspection and therefore could not be used which we thought was a poor excuse and not complying with Health and Safety Regulations.
We were given a lovely large room which had a seaview. The staff at the hotel reception were friendly and extremely helpful, giving us directions and information about the university which we were going to visit. We stayed in a twin room , the beds were rather hard and uncomfortable.
I liked the style of the hotel, different from other Premier Inn's The restaurant staff seemed inexperienced and there didn't appear to be a manager
Great building, bar and restaurant area very well designed and relaxinb atmosphere Unfortunately we were allocated a room suitable for disabled guests which would have been great for a wheelchair user ( having holidayed this year with a friend in a wheelchair and realised how hard it is to find suitable accommodation - this is a real plus) however it meant that we only had a disabled shower in our room and no bath- which for non wheelchair users is a bit disappointing - we were not asked whether this would be OK which I was not happy about.
Very relaxing, fabulous breakfast, pleasant staff. Pity about the awful weather though!! Just opposite the Pavillion Theatre where we had tickets to see the Electric Light Orchestra trib band, brilliant!! Nothing negative springs to mind.
Excellent staff, amazing spacious room, clean modern hotel.
The staff on reception and in the dinning room were very friendly, welcoming, down to earth and helpful. No real bad points
A good hotel in a great location with all the basics that you need. Excellent friendly knowledgeable staff for whom nothing is too much trouble.
Lovely clean pleasent hotel, in need of ungrade.
the service was good and the food was good the room was clean but very small
We found staff very friendly and helpful. the breakfast was good.We did find the tables close together, which was fine for us but might be slightly offputting. The terraces could do with attention, also perhaps the rooms could be updated. However we found location and as mentioned staff were excellent.
Overall the hotel was lovely. Thank you for a very pleasant stay. There were no bad points whatsoever.
Served Vegetarian Breakfast which was very good. Perhaps more choice on vegetarian meals & evening entertainment would be useful.Very close to beach & pier. I stayed in Room 30. I found flow of water was very low & only trickle of water came out of shower. Pressure from Cold & Hot water taps in sink had very low pressure & water from hot water tap was very hot & low pressure. So water pressure need improving. It would be better to have a mixture tap in sink instead of having two single hot & cold taps.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the cleaners did a good job. There was also a car park which is helpful as Bournemouth is a pain for parking. The food left a lot to be desired. The bathroom was badly designed and the shower area was very small.
Location To BIc
The rooms were small, but clean. Breakfast was lovely, though served a little early on a weekend in my opinion (8:30-9:30am!). The staff were friendly and helpful. Location was perfect a 1 minute walk to the centre of Bournemouth
Brilliant location foe Bournemouth shopping/gardens and beach. Excellent views. Room was disappointing. For 92 pounds I was expecting a room a little more updated. Apart from location I dont know if I would return.
Friendly, helpful staff and good quality breakfast with extras without quibble. No
It was clean, great staff and central so just a 5min walk to the beach!
Good location and friendly staff creaking floorboards !
Location and staff Car blocked in by coach unable to leave at 10:00 AM stuped note on windscreen from hotel manager what a shame
Very friendly atmosphere and extremely helpful and attentive staff; located very close to the beach
We (2 persons) had a very comfortable bedroom with a king size bed in a large room.Bathroom was one of the best and the shower was very really superior+.Heated towel rail. Breakfast was fantastic. The only comment would be is that the kippers or haddock were prepared to order which would take some time to do which is fair enough but why not take this order at the beginning of breakfast it would make more sense.Apart from that small thing everything was excellent. One of the best hotels and great value. The only thing was the lift is very old and one could catch your fingers in the gate. Also if someone forgot to close both set of doors it would not operate so someone had to go up or down the stairs to close the door.
Good location. Friendly staff. Parking on-site. Not very good shower. Uncomfortable bed. Only served breakfast between 8:30am and 9:30am, so I had to have a bowl of cereal at 8am as my conference started at 8:30am.
Particularly glad to have tea/coffee making services in room as not always standard. Staff helpful and accomodating, particularly parking needs. Not knowing that front door is routinely locked and having to rely on door bell... On arrival, this was unexpected as it was before 9pm and no front door key was proffered when we expressed intention to go out for a meal. You have to rely on staff, which though they were prompt to come to the door, is slightly unnerving late at night, in a strange place. Breakfast starts late, 8.30am, but this may be because it was March & not peak season?
I thought the Hotel staff were very helpful, polite and friendly. The location is ideal for the seafront and the view from the back is really nice
