Very helpful easy access godd area for eating and entertainment unable to get hot drink later part of evening in the cafe area
Perfect Location to the Southbank Markets, Brisabne and beautiful restaurnants Not so much the hotel, but the Taxi service they phoned for us & used was very poor.
The location is second to none for ease to walk everywhere. I think it is expensive for what you get-i.e. no wireless internet included.Unable to book through reception over the weekend.
Comfortable room, nice size The TV was slow to operate and awkward to turn on. Room prices seemed quite high, probably related to the Ashes being played in Brisbane at the time.
accessibility to southbank, its market and resturants. The fact that for the 5 nights I was there the gym and sauna were not operating due to renovations. This was not stated on the Hotel.com site. It was one of the reasons I booked it.Very disappointing. The hotel did provide alternative places but its just not the same and inconvenient.
its ease to the Convention Centre and South bank. Train services very accessible also. Probably a little excessive in price during peak periods.
Rydges has a great location. Close to South bank, concerts, shopping, galleries, etc.
very helpful and friendly staff, very efficient at check in and check out bed was not ideal - one side sagged, bathroom a bit outdated/tired
The offer of an upgrade of rooms for only a little more each night. I was attending a conference, all facilities and events well coordinated and of a high standard. Great location, spent most of my time in South Bank. Everything was at our door step. Friendly, knowledgeable staff will to help us with all requests. All good , I can't think of anything not to like
Dining room menu was limited and food was not of the highest quality. The CBD bar had basic food( chips.burgers etc) but extremely noisy. As a rydges priority guest, because we booked through you,we were not allowed the 10% room rate discount.next time we will book direct with the hotel.
The close proximity to the city.
We have been there a few times and find the central location to be excellant plus we know in advance that the standard of the accomodation will not disappoint There is nothing not to like
Room as booked as Execuative plus but only and execuative room as provided which did not match the pictures on the web site
Good size room. Knowledgeable concierge. Perfect breakfast staff. Too expensive hotel parking.
Location All good
Profesionality and kindness of staff. As I checked out there was a surcharge because I was paying with credit card ... I showed my 'booking com' reservation where nowhere was written about this surcharge and they took it off! This is really added value and I will go back!
The location was perfect, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was very comfortable. I know parking is very limited in the city, but I did think the price for valet parking was a bit steep.
The facilities and the staff friendliness. The parking fee is too expensive.
Great hotel and location. Very good breakfasts
A fine hotel in a very central CBD location. No.
Every time I stay at the Stamford Plaza Brisbane I always leave feeling like the staff have gone above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. When you require a twin room it would be nice to have something bigger than a king single bed. Even a double bed would be a better option.
Kabuki Restaurant Had lunch at the courtyard restaurant and thought the service poor and the prices high.
Close to the function we where attandind Hotel needs a face lift
Closeness to all city facilities. nothing
Look and style. The ambience. Location is terrific. Mini bar pricing was not competitive. > Pillows were not comfortable. > Handle on televsion cabinets were broken > The smell of the bathroom towels were not pleasant. They were clean but the laundry powder used was not fragrantly appealing > Bar staff on the night were not managing the waiting patrons effectively
Easy check in, quiet location
Attentive staff, and a delightful location for breakfast, in particular (The Brasserie). The quality of the breakfast was also very good. Rooms just a little clastrophobic. And it would be nice to be able to open a window rather than rely on airconditioning. A balcony would be even better! However, I note a male person "fell" from the balcony of an adjacent hotel on the evening (or there abouts) we visited!
a classy yet relaxed hotel. breakfast was excellent but was only worth buting when we got the discount vouchers as it was rather expensive otherwise.
It is a very comfortable place to stay. We couldn't use the hotel on the Saturday night as it was booked out with functions. On the Sunday night nothing was open and the riverside bar had a function. We still have our free drink and food vouchers as they couldn't be used.
Good location. The breakfast is too expensive.
The location was central with easy access to popular areas in the city as well as Central Station and Adelaide St. The rooms appeared outdated and dank. The shower was uncomfortably small and would flood the bathroom every time it was used. I did not feel comfortable using the laundry as it was dirty and remote. There was no free wifi in the building.
It was a great hotel, simple as that! Great location, great views, friendly staff, and a great room. The bed was a little stiff for my preference but every back is different.
Nothing Rooms overpriced, cleanliness poor, in room facilities poor especially internet connections, Restaurant overrated and expensive, car parking fees charged when free days on public holidays, Breakfast over priced and poor quality (eg no fresh eggs), Electrical items in room defective.
Our bed was amazing best sleep we have had in a long time The room was so clean and modern
We really enjoyed the spa and pool on the roof. The room and the view were both excelent. The housekeepers did a wonderful job and it was a pleasure to come back to our room in a clean and well presented state. Thought it was very strange to find 1 bottle of water and 1 apple left for us as complimentry when there were 2 of us staying in the room.
Friendly guests and staff The mildew on the grouting in the bathroom
Very little. It was poor value for money and I would not recommend it to anyone. There was no free parking for hotel guests. The hotel is a long way from the CBD and surrounded by steep hills. The rates are high but the facilities are poor. The room was serviced but no fresh towels were provided. The interior of the rooms are pleasant enough but the corridors and elevators are dated and shabby.
Close to Spring Hill and the river We'd booked two rooms, one for my husband and myself, the other for our adult daughter. We asked if the rooms were different, if one was better for a couple, and told there was no difference. In fact, one had a much larger bathroom. The staff should have known this and advised us accordingly.
It was central, well known brand and useful as an overnight stay, and had a secure carpark. On the top of the Hotel half the neon lights spelling out the Hotel's name were broken, so the name of the Hotel was unrecognisable when driving to it at night.
I liked it being close to the City. Decent swimming pool and gym. Mini bar was well stocked even though I didn't need it. The service is very average , some days they make the b d and nothing replaced like towels and soap etc. the worst wifi service never connects or super slow, only 250 mb for 24 hrs but doeywork anyways. Even though the ad says free parking it is freeoy for weekends. The check out was annoying tney wanted to keep thr $10" deposit with bogus charges.
The swimming pool, the view and the restaurant and its friendly wait staff. I liked that we could leave our bags without any hassle. The cabs came quickly. The noise from the renovations in the afternoon! I didn't like the lack of a sewing kit in the room and the lack of a newspaper at the door although I got these by asking at reception.
good position very helpfull staff small rooms , hotel; needs general update
great staff especially nicola and very comfortable. the restaurant was very good too.
The hotel is very well maintained and clean. The view into Anzac Square was very pleasant and it is very well positioned in the CBD making it easy to walk to places of interest. Rates and location big draw card for us. Nothing it is a good place to stay.
Valet Parking, easy to find, great location, the bed sheets and bed was very comfortable. No
The convienent location, the friendly helpful staff and excellent facilities
Ideal location - just across the road from station. easy access to city centre- shops bars etc.
bed was comfortable - can't recommend much else rate was disproportionate to quality of facilities - is a tired hotel (stained carpets, rusty fittings etc.) with mediocre facilities demanding premium rates.
It central position..great for staying in Brisbane Mold and rust in bathroom
Location was excellent - just opposite Central Rlwy station and easy access from airport via airtrain. The staff moved us to another suite when our aircon broke down - and did it really well. Easy walk to shops and Queen St mall. Restaurant breakfast and room disappointing for the price.
Antique furniture The DVD player and stereo supplied in each room looked out of place and the TV remote was hard to work
Location was very convenient for shops and transport (airport train outside your door), and I liked the old building, much more pleasant than a modern hotel.
It was close to the City you could walk everywhere.Very Freindly kind staff. Lovely room. Close to all public Transport. The parking bay out the front of the Hotel not really big enough, we had trouble pulling in there due to other vehicles being in there all the time
location inflexibility and mechanical (robots). Charges for anything which in most 4-5 start hotels are usually included eg later checkout (1hour).
Staff , very helpful , especially conceirage and reception. dining , transportation services The cost is slightly higher compare to other hotels.
convenience for getting around city asked for king bed and did not get it
Enjoyed the modern rooms and service was excellent. Nil
Location-Location-Location: this was a fantastic place for ease of accessing CBD Brisbane as well as transportation. Easy walk to great restaurants and shops, too.
i can say the location of the hotel is excellent for city tourists, with convenient transportation, close to everything.
Convenient location, easy to find, comfortable bed. Kind and competent staff, especially as they could not find my reservation. Small window, small bathroom with curtain for the shower
The room was very clean and well fitted out. The bed was very comfortable, with comfortable pillows. The reception staff, concierge and valet parking attendants were all very friendly and very helpful. It is also located very centrally in Brisbane city. We were unable to have a twin bed room which meant my sister and I had to share a bed - not too much of a problem but would have been nice to have our own bed.
so convenient, comfortable, quiet, pleasant environment
Location was great - very close to city, restaurants and transport options. Chose this hotel for its pool which upon arrival was found to be closed for renovations. Roof top bar was packed with people from a function that had finished downstairs so not a place to relax and unwind. Rooms are adequate but could do with some of the renovations that the pool is supposably having.
cold breakfasts delivered to room
close to town. one person was friendly, the other said i cant have been staying as my booking wasnt in the system!!! even though my friend had already checked in it was in the middle of redecoration. tiny as bathroom and smal room. for what we paid newaz
Enjoyed the location and friendly helpful staff. Only dissapointment was for the restaurant not to be open on Sunday evening.
Central location, excellent view of Storey Bridge and the river, apartment very clean and comfortable.
Great location Noise from story bridge traffic all night
Very central for touring Brisbane .superb view of bridge , river and city from balcony.Very nice suite and wonderful staff.
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.
the staffs are friendly and helpful, the environment is clean and clam.it provided a good place to rest in a trip. if there's a kitchen would be better
We very much enjoyed the view on the bridge from our balcony. We also much enjoyed the jacuzzi (also with a view on the bridge). The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the city centre, but you can walk along the river path. There is some very nice coffe place along the way.
I enjoyed the gym and sauna. The television was very good. The pool was freezing but other than that it was excellent
Location is very convenient for the city. There is a good cafe with outdoor seating. My room wasn't ready at 3.10, and housekeeping had not finished cleaning when I went in. No soap in the bathroom, etc. I stay in the Adina apartments in Sydney all the time, and the Brisbane hotel is a bit tired in comparison.
The location and facilities! The reataurant and room service pricing was far too expensive and the bathroom had a terrible sewerage smell.
Excellent, efficent, helpful staff
We were welcomed by a nice and pleasant receptionsit, the room was large and in good condition. There was a bit of noise from the railway station so next time I will specifiy a room on the road side.
Staff were uniformly really friendly and helpful - upgraded us following a cancelled flight. Breakfast great - omelettes to order. Beds and rooms comfy and clean with nice extras. Spas on 18 floor fabulous and hard to leave.
the central location was excellent for a city break - the hotel was very quiet and the room was a good size.
Foxtel on the TV, the bed was comfortable. The internet connection fee is a rip off, to be charged for internet connection when you're not in your room working is appalling. Why can't the hotel charge when in use only? I am aware it's outsourced by an IT consultancy but nevertheless I'm sure the Holiday Inn make money on it. The other point is if i knew there was a rail station right on the hotel I would not have chosen the hotel. Found it difficult to sleep as a result.
proximity to suncorp stadium. Rate was cheap given it was origin night.
position, breakfast. doona to hot, would like a top sheet
The convenient location
I liked the relaxation Food was expensive
Centrally located in the heart of Brisbane CBD. Public transport and other travel facilities at the front door. Hotel across the road had cheap good quality food. Very few 'modern' facilities. Parking as a guest is a rort paying an extra $28 overnight.
It was such a short visit but concierge desk most helpful The coffee - need a good barista
Excellent check in and check out service and also service at Cuvee lounge also excellent
hotel was fab. staff were so friendly and very helpful. great breakfast buffet with great selection.
Location Complimentary water and chocolates were not there on arrival. Delivered 5 hours after. Coffee machine but no coffee cups, delivered 2 hours after I called reception. $38 parking fee.
The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time and always felt welcomed. The shower/bath controller stuck so water comes out into the bath but that was more funny than unliked and it just meant that the pressure was low.
The room was tidy and the complimentary champagne made the evening - though it had to be asked for. The concierge seemed rude at first during check-in.
very helpfull and friendly staff. I can not complain
Convienient for public transport & city access. Feather/down pillow.Comfortable room.24hour facilities
First class buniness man hotel. Great staff
bathroom grout was covered in mildew. really unacceptable in this level of hotel. pool closed too early at night.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Excellent location and presentation of the hotel. On site parking, dining and in the Brisbane CBD.
We loved being right in the heart of Brisbane, and having the casino for entertainment was great Loved the deep bath
helpfulness of reception staff Noise - we were in room 117 and it was very noisy between a function in the atrium and a bar behind it. Lack of a plan to show us where facilities were.
Pleasant location with an old world feel A bit expensive
Classy hotel, excellent large rooms & great position.
It was great to be so close to all facilities that were of interest to almost every type of person for e.g. gamberling, dining, clubs and pubs or just driving around exploring sites of interest. Not knowing where we were going we missed the valet parking "twice"because we couldn’t see any signage so just went to the public car park but is was just as good I believe anyway as our parking was validated. Thanks guys!
Nej.
The location of hotel was great and the staff were very helpful Our bathroom door was not closing (it was off the runners) and no one could fix it.
Yes. The airconditioning fan was cold and the heater did not work, so switched off the fan. Told reception. No fresh air was available. Toilet door jammed shut, told reception and they arranged help to get it open again.
roomy apartment, good value at 145 $, not at the 'official' rate og 200+$ cutlery, plates were not all clean
Location, comfortable well equiped apartment. Very quiet. This is the second time I have stayed at North Quay and will return.
Rooms are exactly as the photos portray. Service was good. Staff were helpful. Great value for money stay and river views were lovely. The bathroom in the afternoon was very hot, could do with blinds or something to keep afternoon sun out.
The location and the fact that I had asked for a view of the river if possible and actually got a room with a view of the river! The one bedroom flat was well set up and I enjoyed my stay. I will return when in Brisbane!
I stayed in room 216 on the 21st floor and had therefore a stunning view of the city and the Brisbane River. Corridors seemed dark an not well maintained. Plus there was some expired milk in the fridge (March 2009).
The view from the 23rd storey was awesome and its only a short walk to Queen st mall from the hotel, which is really convenient. The staff were negligent to our complaints about the faulty lights, which included the ceiling light dangling by just a cable. We were afraid that it would fall off the ceiling and thus alerted the reception immediately in the morning but nothing was being done.
Spaciouness of the suite and been able to set the A/C to how we liked it. Bit disappointed the spa didn't work - but it was not a hassel.
The apartment was excellent. It was spacious and very comfortable with all the requirements for a short stay. Views superb. Service and food in the restaurant both good.
Polite friendly staff, good access to carpark and to the airport. Liked the televised arrival / depature facility for Brisbane Airport. Great restaurant with reasonable prices. For a hotel only 3 months old we were surprised to find towel rails rusting and no power point in the bathroom. The bathroom was badly designed, cramped and fogged up very quickly (maybe the cause of the rusting towel rails)with the steam intruding into the bedroom area if the bathroom door was left open and fogged up the dressing mirror. The entrance to the restaurant gives a poor impression with its matt finish white painted solid doors badly marked with shoe scuffing etc as there is no kickboard. Not a good impression for the restaurant.
The staff on reception and in the restaurant were extremely helpful and we would have no problems in recommending the hotel to our friends and family.
Proximity to airport for early flight nothing
comfort and cleaness to far from city and can't get more dinner options
location, room ok food very poor, very expensive: ripp-off ! one of the attending persons at the reception was there only to collect his salary, not really interested to attend "guests"
The fact that the Supermarket and Direct Factory Outlets (DFO) which houses most Brands are directly next door to the hotel is excellent and very convinient for travellers like me. One can also catch the TBus right outside the DFO to the airport terminals. I am already recommending this hotel to my colleagues who usually transit through Brisbane. It's an exellent location and very convinient if you wanna do last minute shoppings before boarding a flight. None
We flew in late and flew out early the next morning, it was comfortable, clean, and close to the airport. If I flew back though Brisbane I would stay there again. There may be a shuttle bus, but we weren'r offered a shuttle bus to the airport so caught a taxi for $17, We thought that was an expense we shouldn't have to front considering it was the "airport hotel and the cost of the room.
Nickel and dimed, plus you have to request real pillows
