The worst experience ever. They didn't have my hotel ready for 4 hours and then gave me the key once the room was ready and someone else was in there. The phone didn't work, and there were no towels. I stayed there for one night....the worst experience ever. Also, the hotel was supposed to take off the $40 charge for the resort fee and still charged my credit card. Unacceptable. Lastly, when I checked in they said that travelocity never booked my room....worst experience in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The worst experience ever. By looking at the reviews , I was little scared but that was the only 4 star hotel available for less than 200 dollars.Located little far from downtown though. I liked the beach very much as it is a shallow beach can have loads n loads of fun there n pools are maintained well. Rooms are neat and clean, can check in early . Two times we checked in by 12 pm . Did not have any problem. Staff are very friendly. Dinner buffet was 38 dollars and its reasonable compared to Atlantis where it was 68 dollars. A lady invited and taught some salsa class for free, hotel paid her I guess. All in all I guess its a full value for the money we spent. Service charge per person is very high. Internet is available only in the lobby. Casino not 24hrs n only on weekends the casino will be have tables, if not its only machines. Less crowd.Will good for those who want privacy but not for those who like to meet new people. No Night club
Hotel staff is very loud walking down the hallways, especially on the first floor.
Everything, good location, great beach and staff. Not too expensive and easy to take the bus. Daiquiri shack was awesome. Nothing, juat the renovations that they didnt have every facility finished, but it wasent any inconvenience.
Not much, being on the ocean was good. Hotel is worn down and not taken care of. They try to trick you to cost more money. We check in and nothing is explained about towel keys other than you need them to get towels at pool. Turns out, you need to hand them back in while checking out rather than leaving then in room with other keys. If you don't hand them in at checkout, then your charged $30 per key. Best part is they don't tell you this at check in or do they ask for them at check out. They basically hope you don't know then charge you. It's sad when other guests at hotel have to tell you this then you scramble to make sure you don't get charged. For a vacation resort in a city where everyone is friendly, the Melia staff at front desk aren't friendly at all. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone.
It is easy to get taxis to other areas, although any taxi ride will cost you about $15-20. There is an onsite Starbucks and a Daiquiri Shack across the street. Within an hour someone had thrown up in our hallway and it was cleaned up almost immediately. Would recommend looking at Graycliff Resort for nearly the same price. From the moment we arrived, staff members were very unfriendly and short whenever we had questions. Facilities in person look much more worn down than online pictures would suggest. Also, the golf course and casino are not open. We ordered appetizers at the tapas lounge and well-after an hour they never arrived. Only one pool is in the sun and is much better for families as there is island music blasting from 9am on and a giant ball kids can get inside and roll around in - blocking access to the swim up bar. The wifi only works in the lobby. Housekeeping checked to see if everything was ok with our room one night at 10:30pm - seemed quite unnecessary.
The beach is amazing! Clean, white sand and clear water. Poor condition of the hotel. First room was moldy smelling, the carpet was wet and the temperature was too hot. The second room was okay, but the electricity was a problem and on the 3rd day half of the room (which included the air conditioning) lost power, Although we reported this immediately, it was only after 4 hours and numerous phone calls that they informed us we would have to be moved. Third room was okay. In summary, the rooms are dated and beat up and the service is poor.
Nice beach, which was very clean and kept up. Location great, except lots of construction nearby some days we didn't get towels in our room. on some floors things were kind of beat up. food very expensive. the food at the buffet on the first floor was great, but was $40 each. The food at the only other restaurant on site that we went to, the Mexican food one, was just terrible. and expensive. we figured out that the best value in food was room service. an excellent meal for $20 each.

Beautiful beach, great location on Cable Beach. Restaurants were all good for an all-inclusive resort. Would definitely recommend the all-inclusive package as everything is overpriced a-la-carte. Pools were nice as well. Lobby and other common areas were recently renovated and are nice, but the hallways are very dingy and dark. Rooms were fine. The service was hit or miss. Some employees very responsive and friendly others on "island time" There were a lot of kids here, so I would not recommend it for a romantic getaway. Not really what i would consider a 4 star hotel, not enough attention to detail in all aspects (service, appearance). No major problems, but not an experience that blew me away either.
We loved the staff. everyone was very accommodating. the food was excellent and all of the servers were great!! The pools were awesome and so was the beach!! We loved the private Island. The water was beautiful. We wished that the private island was open later than 4:00PM. We were told that they stocked Bacardi Rum, but they did not. The Piano Bar should be open later than 11:00PM. That way you could have the loud music at Crickets and the Piano music for the other crowds. We were told by the reception when checking in that they would stock our room with alcohol, but this never happened. It would have been nice to have a cocktail in the room. The butlers would reserve all of the chairs for guests, but we noticed everyday that many of the chairs were never used, so other guests could not get a good seat.

All inclusive was awesome - food and drinks were all excellent and a great selection of choices. Service was fantastic - all employees really cared to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms and facilities are dated. Amenities in the room were old and some not working (hair dryer, smoke alarm). Everything just felt old and in need of an upgrade. But for the price it can't be beat!
Unlimited alcohol Everything else. The hotel's location is far from everything. The food was mediocre. The whole facility itself was very old. It is in strong need of being refurbished and they're holding off as long as they can. I definitely wouldn't stay here. Stay at the Melia! Awesome place and just got refurbished. it is also all inclusive. Trust me on this one!
Great location - beautiful white sand beach The Staff made my stay tolerable - Great Staff always helpful and accomodating Great WiFi signal in room! The building needs serious updating- the furniture, drapes, and room configuration are all outdated! Main Dining Area furnishings are outdated 25 and older Lounge smells musty - again - needs a total overhaul.
Unique hotel with a nice deck with a great view of the ocean. The room was clean. The hotel advertised a restuarant yet when we got there after a long day of travel we found it was closed on Sunday. We asked what was around and was told we had to take either a 15 min/$$ taxi ride to town and try to find something or walk down to the beach about 15mins in the dark to another hotel's restuarant! Neither were good opinions. The girl at the desk was not helpful at all, giving us no suggestions. Our room was clean but the lock was broken on the French doors leading to the shared balcony (a big wrap porch that circled the whole building), the lamp by the side of the bed was broken, falling off the wall, no air conditioning and the ceiling fan didn't work. We walked through the "garden" and the small pool looked more like a pond! Green! This was only a one night stay to be close to the airport but it was way to much money for what we got!
I did not like anything. i paid and booked on Kayak and they did not hold a room! Did you hear me? in another country with no room! Can you imagine, paying, flying to another country during their peak season and not having a room? To make it more insane, I called and spent 27 minutes on the phone with Kayak and they still have not processed a refund. They actually have a note in the system that confirms the hotel does not have a room and have yet to process a refund as they are waiting on the hotel to confirm..... again..... 100% the worst travel experience i have had.
