Convenient to good eating in Chinatown, reasonable cost, and with the excellent public transport - it was fairly easy to get to the convention center. Lighting in the room could be improved, and the alarm didn't work
Location and price. Fire alarm went off at 5am (Sunday morning). Seems this isn't that out of the ordinary after reading others reviews.
Rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable.cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful The "breakfast" was very limited. We were there about 8 o'clock. There was no fruit, no bread for toast.. But that didn't matter as we couldn't see a toaster. There were muffins and bagels. Not impressed with the breakfast. It was very difficult to find how to get in the hotel when you were driving. We did two passes before we saw a small sign indicating the super 8 parking. There were no directions on the hotel web site or on the front on the building. Couldn't stop on the road out front to go in and find out as it is a major no parking road.
The location was great. I attended a conference at the Metro Toronto Convention center and it was about a 30 minute walk, which is what I wanted. Plenty of restaurants and shopping along the way. The free continental breakfast was nice. The treadmill in the gym was broken. It is located on a busy main street with the entrance not needing a key card to enter. You enter the front door and take an elevator up to the third floor to the check-in, but could easily take the elevator directly to the rooms in the hotel with out any security. That was kind of sketchy.
I didn't get her name but the young lady who checked us in on 6/19/15 just before six pm..... was incredible. i had accidentally booked for the following week. She was very helpful in getting us into the hotel and changing the following day to a 2 bedroom. unfortunately she was not there on saturday or sunday. i had asked the night desk clerk her name and he said sandra BUT i'm not too sure of that because he was the weakest part of the trip when we switched rooms on friday. my buddy forgot his charger in the single bed room. he realized much later.....probable midnight or later, it was when we got back from the concert. my friend went down to ask the guy if something had been turned in from cleaning......the fellow seemed unhelpful in every way and did NOT relay the message to the day crew. even though my friend had asked him to have the cleaner keep an eye out for it. it just shows the wild swing in customer service. luckily the exceptional efforts by the young lady did overcome the guys lack luster service
A delight for the senses!
It was close to the Air Canada Centre, which is my only reason for being there. McDonald's is just down the street. Having to pay $20 a day for parking! I understand it's usually $10 a day, but because I was going out and coming back for the concerts, I had to pay double! Should have been included in the room charge!
Stayed there this weekend to see the Nutcracker and spend a day at the AGO and ROM. The hotel is in a great spot without killing your bank account. Spadina Ave has character and is fun to explore on your down time. The hotel is clean (although the building may look sketchy haha) and the staff are very nice. Fire alarm went off at 5AM - that sucked but obviously a rare thing. The water pressure in the shower could have been better but I am just being nit picky.
The rooms were clean and the facility as described Minor issue with the A/C unit. Easily addressed by staff.
The only good thing is its location in downtown. It's not safe here. Anyone can use the elevator which belong to the mall and can go to the hotel rooms at night. Staffs are not helpful. One chinese women staff is rude. This place is served by chinese staffs mostly.
It was centraly located near places we wanted to visit. The breakfast left a lot to be desired, Hard to find P3 to park our car.
Conveniently located. Parking available for $10/ day
Dirty. Scary. Long term. Windows were broken. Uncomfortable part of town.
i didn't like it. it is in an area that had 2 "projects" we had to walk by to get to it.it's in a residential area that isn't very friendly. the room was not clean and i didn't like the location.
Interesting neighbourhood, Chinatown and Kensington market just yards away.Within walking distance of entertainment district, CN Tower and the waterfront and close to streetcars for going further afield. I liked that each floor had a laundryroom with washing machine, dryer and an iron - you can pack less and leave more room for souvenir gifts.
Very convenient location to city center. Reasonable room rate. Enough hot water for bath. Room is not clean and bad smell and it is like cheap apartment. Desk is very poor. Most surprising thing is there are no hotel lobby. They have small room which has their reception. They call it "office".
Our room was quite clean, and very adequate for our stay, as well as close to our destination in the area (within 15 minutes' walking distance). A very minor detail: we discovered a used wash cloth on the shower curtain rod in the bath room when we arrived.
good amenities: flat screen TV, very comfortable bed, stove, refrigerator, microwave oven and a bath tub. air-conditioning is very noisy. When it was on, I cannot hear the TV. The air-conditioning has to be turned on intermittently if you want to watch the TV.
Location of the hotel is perfect for someone looking to be near the city core. Neighberhood of the hotel left a little to be desired.
The staff were pleasant, helpful & had lots of information about Toronto & the area to help us tourists. Room was way too small and the funrishings were of poor quality. However the bed was good quality & comfortable. Overall, could do with an upgrade/ overhall. Felt that maybe it was a student building in the recent past?
good position, clean
It was clean, quiet, comfortable and affordable. It was exactly what I needed, an economical place where I could prepare for my meetings. The kitchen facilities are pretty bare. A decent frying pan, and an extraction fan would help.
it is good near to the city, required to keep the track of tourist place and guides is equireed for the new comers like ottawa montreal and quebec, etc., atleaset travel agency details coffe to be served in the rooms.2)sitting arrenge ment is required near the reception replace is not entertaining the guest 3) help is required to tranfer the luggaes till the room.
Good location Room is a little small and older
The location of the hotel was pretty good. I wish they had breakfast including
The best things were the location, next to Chinatown, and walkable to most of downtown Toronto. Also the area is very quiet bearing in mind it's location. Finally our room had a perfect view of the nearby cn Tower. The room was a little dated - although clean. The air-con unit in our room was noisy when on, and the staff were not particularly customer focussed or friendly - and just did the minimum.
The hotel was a very old building, but extremely clean and well cared for. We even saw a girl sweeping the parking lot! If you are just looking for a clean place to sleep in a fun area of Toronto (located on the edge of Chinatown, near Kensington market and queen west west) this is your place. We were surprised to have a kitchenette too. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning. My only possible complaint would be for them to have better wifi, but free wifi is better than nothing.
The location of the hotel was good, close to the nice shopping area in Queen street Although the location is very good, is the price to high for the level of comfort that is offered.
Good location and good budget accommodation! A bit hard to find as street is very small and not on some maps. Guests should be directed to Bathurst at Carr!
location is not far from the garment/fashion district and Ryerson University. Easy access to transit. The entire property feels dingy. I stayed for two nights--wouldn't want to stay any more. There are also no keycards at the hotel--I was given a key for the front door and a key to my room.
Room was really clean, had AC, Location ,a small fridge and, nice staff. Very small room for the price. No elevators. glass washroom walls. Not sound proof to neighbors. TV was grainy. Weak wifi that would turn on and off.
Great boutique hotel. Rooms was small but well designed. Good location, cool vibe. Staff was welcoming and room was incredibly comfortable. Great shower, great bed etc. Parking was available in a public lot a few blocks away. The closest lot was $40 overnight but I found one a few blocks further that was $20. Not their fault, just wish there was a cheaper lot nearby
The rooms were clean and well maintained. There is a pharmacy just across the street very much like a CVS/Walgreens in the US with just about anything you might need. I was attending a conference and had lunch & dinner there but the breakfasts at the Beverly hotel restaurant were excellent. And it was within walking distance of everywhere I wanted to go. The room was not large and the bathroom was glassed in, no problem for me as I was traveling by myself but no privacy for couples. Frosted glass would have been a better choice.
Beautifully decorated industrial design. Bare brick walls. Huge Windows. Amazing staff. No wishes left unsatisfied. Cool lounge and bar on the sub terrain floor. The room I stayed in was the Luxury King size room 31. Overlooking the crossroad of Spadina Ave and Phoebe St through 3 humongous Windows. Very light and friendly atmosphere.
service is good aircondition is not working
We were brought to a condo under construction several blocks away from the advertised location; there were a dozen cots stuffed into 3 bedrooms with no furnishings or even toilet paper. Clearly an illegal operation.
Room was clean, environment was not bad, had basic necessities One of 13 people to wait for hours due to nonexistent managementOwner is incompetent - overbooking clients; forcing clients to wait for hours before he found accommodation for each of us; no apology for his royal screwup, instead opting to insult us
