The location is great. Short walk to everywhere and multiple places to eat nearby. Be aware that you HAVE to valet park, which costs $50 per night per car. They do not give you the option to park yourself.
We inadvertently left somethings in the car that was valet parked. Our bellhop brought our bags up and immediately helped us with our situation. In a few minutes our other items were up in our room. It was so effortless. I also loved how well staffed if was and how ready they were to help us with anything.
People very friendly...Jon twigg very kind to get door leading into our room fixed. Door didn't work..had to wait to get fixed. Room not ready when we arrived at 330pm, had to wait 20 minutes in lobby. Bed not turned down second night we were there. Hairs found in our bathtub..
It doesn't worth money. I give it 3 star place with 5 star price. See previous
service was great, the view was beautiful, the room was excellent. It seemed like the stars aligned for us, but that just may be the great service of the hotel. The weight room was great. The concierge made a reservation for us at this great restaurant downtown. I can't really say there was anything I didn't like about the hotel. I did a lot of research on hotels in toronto, and this was the highest rated and for good reason. If you're on the fence, go with Shangri-La
Nothing, I didnt stay there. They gave my room to someone else. Hilton booked me in an oversold hotel. After traveling 11 hours I showed up and they said i had no room! I paid for 2 nights in advance and it was PAID for. How could Hilton do this? I am a HiltonHonors member, being a member doesn't mean much to them, where is the loyalty? They gave my paid for room to someone else and told me to go find another hotel. UNBELIEVABLE!!
Facilities were excellent and the staff helpful
very clear, affordable, and walking distance from downtown Why would Hilton not offer free WiFi these days for international travelers?
Unfortunately due to a late flight, I got in at almost 3:00 AM. They put me on the 26th floor. They didn't tell me there would construction starting on the 26th floor at 8:00 AM. It was terrible. The hotel was not sold out either... It was loud and very difficult to try and get that extra 30 minutes of sleep I needed...
Great stay, nice pool, jacuzzi and sauna. rooms were big and comfortable.
Great location Easy check in Dated rooms Not sound proof - could hear everything in hallways and on road (I.e. Sirens) No fridge in room Bathroom was very old - needs to be updated badly
I enjoyed the friendly and professional staff. If you drive into town with a larger vehicle, you will not be able to park onsite. Parking in other locations becomes costly.
Beds were very comfortable. Carpets were a little dirty
Close to everything downtown, one block from subway, clean, modern, friendly helpful staff. A little expensive but that may just be the prices in Toronto.
staff quality of the rooms, old bathrooms, no minibar
Location to my business The room facilities were below average. No Fridge. Not able to open window for fresh air.
The front desk clerk was extremely friendly. The rooms were very clean. Crisp bed linens and dust free The pool was small and way too hot! They claim rooftop pool but in actuality it is just a small pool on the top floor of the hotel. Hotel breakfast priceswere outrageous. I have a hard time justifying $15 for a juice and a muffin. And $30 for an egg and bacon.
Clean and comfortable. The location next to Eaton center makes it ideal for shopping and eating.
Good location, with an easy walk to a lot of cool areas. Nice accommodations. Friendly staff. Parking cost $35 extra, and wifi was $10 per day. It's 2015 man, wifi should be freeee!
-very comfortable beds and convenient location complimentary continental breakfast should be included
Beware of the crime in the area. There was a murder outside the front door. If safety is a concern you should not stay here.
Great location Parking lot was full. Alternative was not explained that we so we ended up with a ticket. They could not reimburse us.
Enjoyed the proximity to the Eaton's Centre and not having to worry about bringing a coat along.
Location, location, location, staff, breakfast No elevator, no parking, tiny bathroom
Not much. No room check in had to go to bar and walk through a very busy jazz club. Could barely hear the BARTENDÈR giving us keys to our room. The club was over packed and was a pain in the ass to get out of. Room was çold and t.v. had limited channels. Washroom was a joke....stupid set up. Woke up the next day and when we were leaving we noticed about 15 police officers eating breakfast watching us walk down the stairs...very uncomfortable!!! The noise is just unbeatable and you will get no sleep...DON'T BOOK HERE!!!
The venue itself always had good music playing and served beer, so I was satisfied on that front. The location was the best part as it was close to many attractions. The room was small and so was the bed. I didn't mind so much but my female friend did. If you're the skyline type, don't rent here. If you're the musically inclined, low maintenance type, this place is nice.
The location of the hotel was great not that far from the coach Canada/greyhound terminal. Walking distance from dundas square and Eaton center. The one thing i love is that our bed sheet got dirty after dropping some food as we notified the staff and stepped out for 10min it was already changed for us when we got back. The only thing we didn't like was we had to check in at the bar which we knew already about after reading these reviews but it was okay the staff would still act professional with the guess staying at the hotel.
Lovely staff, very welcoming and understanding of our late check in (3.30am!), very helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Cannot say a bad thing about Rex hotel!
Staff was very friendly, hotel was clean, and in a really good location. Only thing that would have made it better was if they offered late checkout, but other than it was a nice place to stay if you don't want to spend too much.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. I wish they started the free coffee service a little earlier than 9am. ;-)
The location was o.k. and the Rex bar staff was friendly and helpful Loud, small, no place to put anything. no curtains on windows - had to get dressed without the lights (was like a fish bowl). No ice or vending. Stayed 2 nights and did not see any hotel staff the entire visit. More like a hostel not a hotel.
hotel staff f are friendly, nice jazz music
The hotel was clean and the staff were great. It's excellently situated for a city trip such as attending a concert and shopping. There are not lots of frills but it's excellent value for money.
This is actually a jazz bar and the hotel is a supplementation to it. But jazz is really nice. I guess the original idea of this hotel is to provide some rooms for musicians from the bar below. The owner of the hotel is very helpful and friendly. Floor in the corridor of the second floor was not very clean, probably due to because they were trying to fix something on the ceiling.
Location is fantastic. The breakfast is fine as well. Parking was an extra 24 bucks for the day which is average for Toronto. Tight parking but fine. It had beds, a shower and towels... The rooms were not very clean, did not have a tv (didn't matter to us) or wifi, but more importantly there was no way to open the windows, therefore the air in the room was stagnant and close to unbearable.
The location was very central. Carpets need cleaning.
Location Moldy smell, shower did not work, it was not clean.
Leaving It is a dormatory, not a hotel and that should have been crystal clear
The best thing I loved about this hotel it was close by everything. The thing I did'nt like about this hotel was the staff just one person at the front desk, he had poor customer service.
It was right across the street from the venue I needed to attend so the location was perfect. Also, the breakfast far exceeded my expectations. The room was horrible. The following are the specifics that I remember: peeling wallpaper, broken plaster, stained tub and tub surround, no daily visit from cleaning staff (lack of shampoo), no in room coffee, and poor soundproofing.
It was extremely close to downtown Toronto for a good price. The beds only had one pillow each, elevators were archaic, rooms had no televisions.
The location I don't like the service, the room so dirty and the wall has hole. A lot of garbage under the bed the bed sheet has a shoe mark. I couldn't sleep well and horrible experience in this hotel. I won't go back to this hotel anymore
Great location and great view of the CN tower! Nice bathroom / shower. It's kind of lame that you are expected to pay a cover to go to the hotel's bar BUT you can sit outside on the patio without a cover charge if there is a spot and you can still hear the music. Room looks like a dorm, but you shouldn't be inside anyways!
location no TV
Breakfast vouchers; For NAYCC event, lots of water and spacious parent waiting room are provided. The elevators looks dangerous.
The location and breakfast included are the only highlights. The entire building stinks, literally. They never changed our sheets or clean the room. We stayed there 4 days!
