Amazing staff - very helpful and knowledgeable and helped arrange activities for us to do around Sydney.
The location was excellent. The room had a washer/dryer, microwave, stove, dishwasher, cooktop, and dishes/silverware, and a large refrigerator, making it perfect for an extended stay (or a short stay). They provided laundry and dish detergent as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The 24-hour reception was a good amenity. The only slight complaint is that my room often was not serviced until after 3 pm.
Location to the airport is excellent - you just walk across the street. Rooms are clean and quiet. Location is very far away from where the action is, but it did not matter too much to us, since we were heading right out the next day. No one at the front desk could give us the correct information about what bus we should take, as the trains were down that day. We were told to take the "train bus" which no one had ever heard of. We waited 45 minutes for the bus that never came.
Easygoing and very comfortable. Couldn't sleep longer had to catch a flight.

This is the most convenient hotel I have ever stayed at in my entire life. I took a train from Sydney, got out at the International Flights stop, went up the escalator, and walked across the street to my hotel. In the morning, I walked out of the hotel door, crossed the street and there was the United ticket counter. I could see it from my hotel window. Clean, comfortable, nice front desk staff, nice staff in the upstairs restaurant. When I went to sit in the downstairs sportsbar, the bartender told me to just sit anywhere, but then no one ever came to help me (although the waiter was helping everyone else.) I don't know if this was a miscommunication or if they were understaffed, but I finally gave up and waited for the upstairs restaurant to open. This was a pretty minor problem, given how much I appreciated this hotel!
I felt like a king. Cared for in the large well-appointed rooms. Our dinner in the restaurant was outstanding. And at a discount because of membership in the GHA hotel group. The hotel could not have been closer to the international air terminal without being in the airport itself.
Location tough to beat for overnight travellers. Shuttle drops you off and walk out the door and across street to international terminal. Popped downstairs to bat for quick bite, some of the food typical pub good but had the curry and must say it was outstanding (and I'm a foodie). Staff behind bar a little aloof but they did their job. I'm Canadian so maybe we are just a little more chatty lol. Anyways place was clean, bed was great and all in all great bang for the buck. Would definitely rebook if I was flying through Sydney again. Thumbs up.
Location The lighting was simply awful. There wasn't one area that was adequate. It was impossible to see to put makeup on. Besides that a bulb was burned out in one of the lights on the desk. This situation is totally unacceptable. The drain was clogged so water flooded the floor. I had to use towels to mop it up.

We're on a 45 country round the world honeymoon. This hotel was country #35 and the beds were sublime... so much so that it's worth talking about here. One desk service young woman gave me a free candy bar to bring me back to life after 2 days of no sleep on airplanes and guess what... she created a loyal customer for life. We are from New York and we approve this hotel fr your sydney travel!

Great hotel location affording some rooms great views. Excellent bathrooms, comfortable beds. Lots of people obviously love it - maybe it helps if you upgrade to the Horizons Club, though I don't see why you should have to, especially as these rates not always on offer. Reception shambolic: no welcome, no porter, no offer of help with bags, no offer to join loyalty programme, told me the Shangri-La in Singapore is tired and needs updating! No apology for not correctly processing reservation. Horrible view of motorway toll booths. Annoying things in the bedroom like unplugged lamps, missing glasses, grubby hotel directory. Food and beverage not good. Saturday night the locals all book up the top floor restaurant and fill up the adjacent bar. Reserve days in advance or you have no chance. For a drink this leaves the Lobby Bar. Neon-lit chilled food cabinet, no music, no atmosphere, bright lighting. Nasty. Only available food outlet The Cafe. Horrible buffet. Dreadful, expensive, over-rated.

The reception staff were very friendly and efficient coupled with the room service staff who were professional, courteous and friendly. With many people at breakfast it was obvious the staff had difficulty coping with large queues, tables not set properly, inattentive staff.

The food at the hotel is rather expensive....eat out, it's cheaper.
The hotel was within a reasonably short walk to the harbor bridge, yet also within walking distance of other attractions (like Chinatown which was a great place to visit during the Chinese new year festivities). In particular, the staff was very helpful. The concierge made a great recommendation for a hole in the wall (Chat Thai) and one of the women at the front desk went out of her way to help me plan things to do over my 3 day stay. I really appreciate that they took the time for me. The room was also nice (but it was the most expensive room I booked during my stay in Australia). My recommendation is to do your research and most importantly book early. After I booked I saw room prices skyrocket as I got closer to my travel dates, but that might have been unusual due to it being the Chinese New Year, or maybe there was some other event that took up all the rooms. I wouldn't have been willing to pay as much the room went up to but ~$250 was doable. Flights into Sydney from abroad must all arrive in the early morning. Every day there seemed to be a number of people waiting in the lobby as their rooms weren't ready yet. I understand hotels can't check people in too early, but it would have been great had the hotel been able to get me in before lunch. Instead I found myself roaming the city by foot for a good while.

Amazing way to start the day with amazing breakfast buffet. Giovani is our favorite... Always helping and welcoming. A hard worker with excellent attention to detail The laundry staff needed prodding several times. There were never enough towels in our room and despite several kind notes to remind them, they were ignored. The dining room at dinner should be ignored, as staff was clueless for dinner... But that was transformed for breakfast, which was a highlight.

Extra attention. They need to replace the little ottoman in the room with a 2nd chair. The king size pillows are too long and too heavy.

Simply everything. The hotel is a stones throw away from Circular Quay, and is in walking distance to the iconic Sydney Opera House. There are lots of awesome shopping venues all around; with food galore and convenience stores to choose from. There are several tours that have starting points only steps away; including ferry tours and dinner tours. I highly recommend the harbour view rooms. The view is breathtakingly beautiful. You really can't go wrong with this hotel. Absolutely nothing not to like.
Friendly and helpful staff. Great location, 10 minute walk to the opera house. You can see the harbour bridge from the hotel street. They have FREE money exchange (US dollar to AD dollar). Super convenient.
Beautiful room, comfortable bed, great fitness center. Location was exactly what I wanted and needed for a couple of days in Sydney...close to everything! Felt safe, and was treated wonderfully by all staff. I REALLY have an issue with the use of so many plastic water bottles. It is nice to have them in the room for many, I know...and to have them to carry around, as well. But...in the gym? C'mon. Use a filtered water system, or at least have one available so that when you run out of your own water, you can refill it without having to use yet another plastic water bottle. For the cost of the bottles and the disposal, reusable ones could probably be provided to every guest.
The front desk staff sent us a complimentary bottle of champagne to put room because we were celebrating our honeymoon. They even included a very nice personalive card, too!

Low floor, dirty windows, bad views, receptionist lied about restaurant open at 10PM, Burger cost $30 plus tip, water in room was $10, room was expensive at about $300/night, no loyalty program with airlines except Qantas, shower was open with no door, no microwave, no real conveniences, small room.

Room very clean and comfortable My second reception experience - arrived early and room not ready. Very helpful chap checked me in, checking photo ID and giving me spa key so I could freshen up after long flight. Promised a text when room ready and promised this would be within 2 hours. Returned from run to see if room ready having not received text in spite of two and a half hours having elapsed. Female receptionist insisting in seeing ID again which seemed utterly superfluous to requirements. When asked why I hadn't received a text she said that the "room has just this moment become ready". Amazing coincidence. ended up being late for an appointment because she was so reluctant to relinquish the key without me having to go and find my photo ID even though it was obvious I had already checked in and knew all the details.

very neat and fairly large rooms. the park view is beautiful. initially we were in a 'park view' room which did not face the park at all. you have to crane your neck out of the window to see the park. this should not be sold as park view. staff were happy to move us to a front facing room with beautiful view.

The beds need replacement. Two in my room had collapsed. The hotel engineer saidthe box spring was broken, so they offered to put us in another room. I checked and sure enough the mattress was broken there too. They moved us to a beautiful suite, but the floor in the room was too slippery for the wheels and the bed would slide out from the wall while resting, and slide away when standing. The hotel admitted that it knew it had the same problem in another room and ultimately they had to remove the frame to keep it stationary. They need to be more diligent in room inspection.
Centrally located, spectacular water view, balcony for fresh air which is so rare for hotels these days. The poor positioning of the shower head and shelf must be a mistake. You need to stand flush against the wall to have a shower.
Great staff. Clean well appointed room. Swimming pool andfitness room a bonus. Airport shuttle good. Restaurant food so so and over priced. Not many other food options.

It was comfortable and clean and for the purpose of convenience, it was right at the airport. Found the breakfast buffet a little short of staff. An omelet we ordered, never did come and there seemed to be no one to ask about it around.
The location to Sydney Kingsford-Smith airport was very good. The lobby was well kept up and the bell service was quick to unload our bags and bring them to our room. The bathroom in our standard room was well designed, including stone/granite counter tops and new(er) showers and toilets. Room includes a mini-bar. The room was a bit dated (e.g. the lights and fixtures) and the carpet was a bit worn. The mini-bar is a bit expensive, but that's my own fault for using it! The only remaining gripe is that the airport shuttle is not free, it was $6 per person. Also the shuttle stops off at the domestic terminal first, before going to the international terminal, so factor that in when planning your arrival time to the airport.
The restaurant food was actually pretty good. I know it's a USA type of complaint but there was no ice and my room service request for it didn't arrive for more than an hour until I then called back and bought a can of soda pop, which arrived thirty minutes later.

Everything was clean and well kept. I didn't like that there was no complimentary wifi. I can understanding having caps to minimize streaming but it would be nice to have some basic browsing ability.
the hotel was great. No problems at all. the only issue is that the rooms were fairly small, but the hotel is in a big city, very close to the airport.

The fantastic staff, who were very friendly and helpful. It was also great that I was allowed to check into my room really. I really appreciated it. The location of the hotel is also superb! I had trouble opening my door on several occasions. It often took several swipes of my card to access my room. I also was confused about the card required to access the fridge of food and drinks on my floor. The information I was given on check-in indicated that I had received one as a matter of course, but I did not get one and was worried about being charged $10 for losing something I never received.
Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. I found the room expensive for the night, though understand it is likely the high season and also a Saturday night. However, I have stayed in many hotels much nicer for less in Sydney and internationally.....no real complaints though. I would stay here again for sure if the rate was more reasonable.

The location is great. The hotel is close to everything from shops, supermarket, office, parks, restaurants. The room is spacious and the bed was very comfy. Two towels of 4 were badly washed. They still have some stain in them. Breakfast could use more variety for the price they are charging. Some staffs at the conscious were not friendly.
