Great place for the price.
With confirmation no room available. Had to sleep in a other hotel and this with late (11:30pm) arraival
The location is great for events downtown. I like to walk, and the central location is nice. Staff was really friendly. We were there for a show at the Saenger which was just a couple blocks away. I would stay there again I didn't like the parking setup. I don't know where the garage was, and you have to stop right on the very busy Canal street and valet. It was pretty much a zoo in front of the hotel the whole time~ But again, the staff was helpful and friendly
Having no working remote control for the TV (who doesn't love bonding time), and no free lotion (ashy legs for the win!). There was a swingers convention going on at this hotel, which we were not made aware of, and were continuously cruised by older couples while simply trying to smoke cigarettes. We're not bored with our sex life just yet.
Our hotel was so cold. Extremely. Called the desk to fix our heat. But it didn't work.
location maid service. Had to call to get room cleaned by night staff after returning first day. Had to hunt down someone for toilet paper (was not stocked when we checked in).
Check in was a breeze, valet and bellboy were SUPER helpful. We even got some great recommendations for that night and for future visits from staff. The lobby was stunning! After check out, we left our baggage with concierge at the front of the lobby to continue our morning exploring without being weighed down. Overall, great visit! Comfortable beds, clean, nice accomodations. We didn't like being surprised by the $50 valet charge at check out!
Gorgeous, clean, affordable Nothing
The room smelled moldy - which is unsafe to breathe in. Overcharged what i agreed to with kayak.
The crown plaza is a nice hotel. Older but nice You cannot go outside without someone on the sidewalk wanting money, cigs, food.....something. I had one person start cursing me because I wouldn't give him anything.
Location, Cleanliness and size of the room! Fitness Room, Pool, Miltary Discount No breakfast included
Location My room was not clean properly...a pair of dirty women underwear were hanging on my bathroom door. The bed had stains on the sheets and the room smelled. I will not stay at this hotel again!!!
The rooms were clean, rooms comfortable, location great, and the staff were accommodating. There was no fridge in the room, and free wifi was only on the lobby.
Great location. Close to everything in the French Quarter. Friendly and helpful staff
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Made us feel special. The rooms were nice and the new beds were the most comfortable I have experience in any hotel. The only complaint is they need to put more outlets in the room. I would stay at the Hotel Marriott again.
large rooms, view of river, lighted pool, nice lobby, locations not crazy about wifi in room.. took fee off the bill but was confusing.
Lobby was excellent. Open and spacious with good food and service. Great for watching games and spending time with a large group. Small room
Great location. Small, dated room. Constant noise from Neighbors and some mechanical work or failing equipment.
Best staff ever!!! Very good location. One of the safest hotels in NOLA. ***** stars!
We were unable to reach our hotel. No one told us when we made our reservations that Mardi Gras parades (at least two) would be passing by our hotel after 4:00 p.m. (which is check in) making it impossible to get to our hotel. We waited in traffic for over 3 hours trying to reach our hotel, then the New Orleans police started diverting all the traffic and set up barriers making it impossible to be anywhere near Canal Street. The front desk at the Marriott told us they couldn't guarantee we could reach the hotel by midnight. We had to drive to Baton Rouge to get a hotel and missed out being with family the next day for our grandchild's 1st birthday.
Room was nice and comfortable, looked to be recently remodeled. Nothing is included. I had to pay extra to park, extra for the wifi and extra for the breakfast. If I had known this I definitely would have not stayed here. Staff seemed very busy and did not have time to answer any questions that you might have.
Perfect location to explore new orleans The elevators were terrible. Waited up to 10 minutes for the cars to show up each time!
It does maintain the Marriott standards The hallways are noisy at night
Great price, great location, clean, friendly, no complaints.
Great location Helpful Doorman Very small bathroom No room refrigerator Small television Satellite cable would not work with rainy weather Received incorrect bill with added valet charges when we never had a car while in New Orleans.
I liked being within walking distance to everything. The beds were also comfortable. There was no fridge in the room. The air didn't work very good. The bathroom mirror light didn't work and kept turning off leaving the bathroom pretty dark. I went to a total of 4 vending machines and none had bottled water. On one the return change button was broken so you had to buy something even though it wasn't what you wanted. Complained to the front desk and was told they refill on Thirsdays. This was on a Saturday and Sunday morning.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and comfortable. Hotel was quiet and away from the constant noise of Bourbon Street. Many art boutiques and cool shops along the road to browse in. When I first checked in I was given a room that was already occupied so I had to cart all my stuff back to the front desk. My tub did not drain properly. I complained twice but it was not fixed. I left something in the room, called, was told to go to a website to report it but as of today have not heard anything about the item I left behind which has a high sentimental value.
I like everything in this hotel nothing
Every one of the staff went out of their way to help us. Very enjoyable stay. No refrigerators! Really needed in that climate.
Booked one night and paid in advance, after my stay they charged me over $200 and would not assist in helping me. Just seemed like I was dealing with a bunch of morons. Would choose another hotel with a smarter staff next time.
The location was super convenient for spending time in the French Quarter. Since it's right near Bourbon St, the elevators had keycard access, which made me feel a bit more safe. No issue getting shuttles to and from the hotel from other services. They were able to hold my bag after check out when I had a really late flight home. We found old, empty beer cans and a few other things hidden under our beds. The staff was pretty gruff, even when I popped in to the front desk at 8AM, before all the drunk tourists started causing problems. The A/C was either a freezing blast or a furnace, no in-between.
2 queen beds provided for 4 people, beds were small but very comfortable. Pool is small but warm, great for kids. No mini-fridge in room. Tea and coffee in room not adequate. Parking is valet only at 38 dollars per day. Park at airport instead for 11 dollars a day. Hotel wants to pay for your tour in exchange for participating in a time-share scam. We declined.
Felt secure at night as there was a security guard by the elevators. Small lobby area, which can get loud. Felt secure at night as there was a security guard by the elevators. Nice to have a pool, but we didn't get to use it. Wifi worked well. Room was okay--bathroom small with very little counter space for belongings. Housekeeping occasionally not restocking soap. Found stain on blanket; staff did replace. Small lobby area, which can get busy and loud.
This hotel is near the chaos of canal street and bourbon street but off them just enough for a quiet nights sleep. The staff were friendly and they did a good job making up the room daily. The highlight was the doorman, Glenn. He was nice, knowledgeable, and knew a lot about the area.
Location - close to great places to eat, shopping, and Bourbon street. The doormen were very kind and helpful. Lots of drunk people everywhere... but that Bourbon street for ya! Also, housekeeping didn't come to our room one day. At least it wasn't clean when we got back at 5 pm, and at that point I wanted a nap.
The Westin is located on the riverfront, about a four or five block walk from the heart of the French Quarter. We loved the extra walk back and forth to meet friends given all the food indulges in NOLA. Staff was fabulous.
Cleanliness, polite staff Room was warm
I really like the proximity to shopping, restaurants, and the aquarium. The restaurant was closed
I have always stayed here but this time the services was so bad !! They couldn't find my reservation and the stuff was rude
When we travel to New Orleans, we stay at the Westin. It is a great location. We can walk to whatever we want to do or take the trolley. That we couldn't stay longer this time.
Beautiful hotel very comfortable I have two $50 charges on my credit card upon arrival that were poorly explained and I was told they would be refunded by now but they have not been. It feels like the hotel is charging me the difference between the hotels.com price I paid and the walk in price.
Worse staff at any hotel I have ever stayed. I have stayed at hotels around the world & staff at this hotel in New Orleans is by far worse in the world. Desperate need for professional staff training!
Hotel was overbooked! Never experienced anything like this before! Will never book online again! Horrible experience. Could not stay at this hotel!
Everything, best bed and bedding ever! Room service prices were too expensive for the quality of the food
Location Needs to be updated. The bathroom door needed painting.
View from room Tired liooking
nice location. rooms were clean and no musty odor(its new Orleans) ended up booking through a 3rd party to get room, not a normal process. they did well however.
I loved the location of the hotel the staff was courteous and friendly. The in hotel restaurant had good food but was a bit pricey. Our room was clean, I am a picky person so it met my standards. I thought some areas could have had better house keeping. Large dust bunnies were all over the floor near the stairs. The main area that was traveled by the guests were kept cleaner. But most importantly I didn't like that they permitted a drunken homeless person to sleep outside of the hotel doors, not a good first impression for many guests.
Service and location.
Beautiful hotel with friendly, efficient staff. If you want to stay in the heart of Bourbon Street this hotel is it. Upgrade to Balcony suite for a perfect stay. Everything was great.
i stayed here with a group of 9 women. This hotel was in the very best location to walk everywhere that we wanted to go in the French Quarter. It was a really great price and i would definitely stay there again, group or individually. Having traveled to NOLA many times and stayed at many similar hotels, this was the easiest, cleanest, and best value by far.
Everything. The people working the desk when we checked in around 10pm were exceptional employees. N/a
The room was giant The place was shabby, even the uniforms were cheap. The hotel bar closed at 12:30, the room service was from like 4-10 and was provided by a third party, in the morning I called for a sprit and it took FOREVER for it come. I paid 450 for that room. I should have been at the Four Seasons level.
Really enjoyed the Historic aspect of the Hotel. Very opulent, and had wonderful informative signs regarding various history of the building. Staff is really good, polite, and helpful.
Right by Bourbon St room was clean and nicely appointed great central courtyard with pool Location makes it noisy rooms on one side were noisy to a non-stop generator terrible pillows no room service uninformed staff (front desk not aware there was no room service, housekeeping not clear whether feather pillows existed... isn't this a basic requirement in most hotels? plastic mattress cover - I guess too many people enjoy the party atmosphere too much & they have mattress issues!
- Location, location, location. Traveled with a friend and this was incredibly convenient to everything we wanted to do in NOLA. I'd absolutely bring bikes if you have the means, makes the city a lot more accessible and reduces transportation issues. - Pool - Staff was awesome, very accommodating even at the last minute - it's clear that they all like their jobs - Stored our bikes in the room downstairs so they didn't take up space in the smaller room and the doormen were always available to open it up for us. Before we found this out they kept our car in a gated lot close by to make sure our bikes were safe on the car. - Free drinks at bar are slightly misleading... Not a total scam but just make sure you want well liquor and add up the cost prior to making it a double with "premium" liquor. - Valet can be slow but they did give a heads up that it would take 40 minutes at some times. - Depending on where you are in the hotel you may have a way to walk down the halls to your room but this isn't really a big deal. - Truly not that bad - if I HAD to pick bad things this is what I remember but I would absolutely stay there again.
I can't even put into words just how amazing the staff were. Every single person I met was so friendly and accommodating. Even going as far as making me a make shift shower chair due to my ankle being broken and needing assistance. Every need was met and then some! The ONLY issue we had was the sensitivity of the room keys. We had to have them remagnetized every day sometimes numerous times in a day.
Staying on the corner of Bourbon Street and Orleans St was perfect. The staff was very friendly, including valet and bellman. We didn't ask for much, but we were given a lot. The free drink at check in certainly didn't hurt! I also really liked the beautiful area in front of check in. It reminded me if a formal living room, and any time I stopped to sit in there I met other guests. It was just so homey. I didn't like the parking fee. I booked through Trip Advisor and it said parking, but nothing about the extra fee. I think it was more the surprise of it that kind of bothered me. Also, I'm not certain the air was working. It wasn't hot, but it wasn't cool either. That said, we never mentioned it to the staff, given we were only in the room to sleep, so I think they would have fixed it or moved us had they known.
location is great Thought the staff at the front desk could have been nicer. They didn't even say thank you for staying when I checked out.
The salt water pool was nice. I really wanted a balcony room and they didn't even asked me if I want one. The water didn't even get hot shower
Parking $45 too high. Noise and construction would have pick other hotel if known.
I drove a hour away to get there only to be told I was never booked when I received a confirmation number . I'll never book with this site again !!!!!!! I drove a hour away to get there only to be told I was never booked when I received a confirmation number . I'll never book with this site again !!!!!!!
Location & parking Quality, condition & service not up to par with reputation and cost. Not family oriented. Very old rooms. Certainly not a luxury property.
right on bourbon street, a little noisy at night....but hey, what fo you expect if youre looking for a hotel ON bourbon street?? beautifully decorated lobby for christmas and extremely friendly staff
Staff. Comfort. Location. Jazz lounge. Pricing is very high during Mardi Gras weeks. Jazz lounge closed at 10pm
Have stayed at this location numerous times but have never had such a small cramped room. AC could not keep up wife was hot and uncomfortable both nights. Called maintenance first day of stay and he said it was working ok. Could not enter the hotel without being accosted by losers trying to get you to come into their strip clubs which surround the hotel.
I enjoyed the location, clean rooms, pool, staff, bed, nature sounds from radio, and smell. Noisy at night due to burbon st, but that was expected. Nature sounds come in handy.
Great location. Close to restaurants and nightlife. Fabulous Staff. Try Restaurant R'evolution, it was a fabulous experience. Currently the hotel is renovating. Our room was near the construction area, so it made the visit less than optimal and not our normal Sonesta experience. I look forward to a future visit once the renovations are completed.
location, value and decor breakfast was overpriced
Well located for easy walk to all attractions on the French Quarter. Elegant, well maintained LARGE roomsnothing
Great location! Down in the heart of French Quarter. Kayak didn't inform me we needed to pay for Valet parking, but a great stay.
The staff was great! Everyone is so friendly The hotel is perfectly located for all the touristy things but you don't hear any of the noise. Super nice stay! Nothing!
The beds were the best I had a hard time trying to get my girls to leave The sandwich we got from room service
Friendly staff. Clean. Quiet. Conveniently located in the French Quarter.
Staff was great! Location is excellent. Our room was really small but it still worked. The cinnamon smelling toiletries should be changed to something more refreshing.
* Staff was very helpful, sorted out a room mixup quickly and appropriately, and compensated us for our time waiting * Fantastic pool and view from the roof, the rooftop bar was great * Really a perfect location - about two blocks from Bourbon made it close enough to the street to feel like you're in the bustle, but far enough away to recover after a long night in peace * We were able to get a great value for the room. * Hospitality staff restocked our room's ice and bottled water every night * Super small room, was not able to fit a single cot in the room without moving the dresser * Bed barely fit two people. * Slightly misleading depending on the website you book on, "Double" or "Queen" in our case meant a single bed, and assumedly the same room * Tiny bathroom. Towels were forced under the sink. * Bar closed earlier than I would have expected
Elegance Central for visiting French Quarter Customer-Friendly Historic Small room for Big Price
Royal, old-fashioned feel consistent with New Orleans old city. Room was a bit smaller than expected, but sufficient for a couple.
Hotel offers a great lobby, bar area, and dining. If your trip includes the French quarter this location is outstanding. You are surrounded by great dining of all types. I would stay here again
In the middle of the French Quarter, but still accessible to the Convention Center. Great staff. Beautiful historic hotel.
Our room 1236 was a great room for us! The facilities were great and the staff was lovely. We enjoyed the food in the restaurant and the Wednesday jazz players. We would definitely return the next time we are in town!
Very elegant and friendly hotel.
We are frequent visitors of the Ritz Carltons and this was the worst facility I've ever been to and service was poor. I was paying $600 a night and felt like I was staying at a Sheraton or worst.
We stayed for 3 nights. We were able to walk out the door and be right in the French Quarter. We were traveling with a small child and everyone was very accommodating. they were able to put us in an area removed from most of the rooms, so we didn't have to worry about the baby disturbing other patrons. Restaurant on sight was perfect for a quick breakfast and facility was very clean. Rooms are good size and we had a great view of Canal St. Canal St. side of hotel is very noisy at night.
Loved all the staff! We had a room with a great balcony and we really enjoyed the restaurants/lounge in the hotel. Honestly we were satisfied completely.
Location High parking fees
It was perfectly located and thr workers were all very helpful and friendly.
The customer service was amazing!
Nice remodeled old hotel within the French quarter. Modern decor with spacious rooms. Close to streetcar stop on Canal. Early check in through kayak Employee at cash register in hotel breakfast restaurant was very rood. Carpets in hallways need replacing or at least cleaning. They were very dirty
Great location, clean and lovely
Could walk anywhere
Normally i do not do reviews however this hotel was exceptional. Great friendly helpful staff. Unpon arrival was given an upgraded room. Extremely convenient location to everything. Spacious room. Thank you for an enjoyable stay, will be back The bathroom was the only downfall. Could of had a larger vanity sink countertop area and a ceiling exhaust fan. Otherwise ideal room
Great location and staff. The valet parking crew was very professional and courteous. Olga at the bar was a pleasure to talk too. I liked the modern decor as well. I would recommend this hotel most of the time. Walls are thin--I could hear people talking on both sides of my room. I imagine it has something to do with being an old building. Fortunately it didn't last long, however, if you are there for any kind of festival where there will be a lot of late night partying (it's near Bourbon street so this may happen quite a bit), I'd recommend being one of them instead and not assuming a good night sleep.
Felt like I was in Paris!
It was a rough start from check-in: - The designated room on our paperwork (King) was not available at check-in, leaving us a couple in two beds - Upon getting to the room, there was toilet paper and urine in the toilet. - There was makeup all over the collar of the bathrobe (being billed as "take it home for $120") - They were able to move us the next night to a king room, which we found out during the middle of the night did not have a working heater (35 degrees outside at this point). So we moved to our third room of the trip that second night. I'll echo the same concerns with customer service that I see in other reviews here. It's a pity because the property itself is well situated and in good company with the likes of the Ritz and Roosevelt. But it failed to meet any standards for cleanliness and overall guest experience.
The hotel is so nice & artsy... The staff was extremely helpful & engaging I felt right at home. I will book there again.
Everything went smooth and rooms where very clean. Staff was very friendly.
I liked the location. I didn't like the alarm coming from next door that went off at 8 am every morning. Wasn't able to have a good nights sleep
We stayed here because of the price and location. It seemed to be the best of both worlds and it definitely was! Easy walk to all French Quarter locations. The lobby is gorgeous, as were the rooms. Fun bar in the lobby, too, with live music in the evenings. We were a group of 4 couples and we all loved it. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Location on Canal St is not my favorite (busy, a bit dirty), but you only have to walk 3 blocks to be in the heart of the French quarter.
Located just a couple blocks off bourbon street Shower heads and pressure could be better
I found everything to be nicely done. It's right where you want to be to get out and see NOLA. I'd recommend to friends. No bathtub is the only thing I can think of that I can complain about. Shower was excellent though.
Location was 2 blocks from Bourbon St, rooms were big with very comfortable beds best place I have stayed in NOLA.
The gentlemen who ran the kitchen and bar were the nicest men I've ever met! They are family now especially mr. Don The short, Hispanic woman at the desk had an attitude.
Bar staff great Wifi was not available which should not happen Rooms do not have Ethernet so working was not possible
We liked everything, and everyone was nice except for one guy on staff at the counter on the morning of tuesday July 11th. On the morning of Tuesday July 11th we stopped by the counter and asked the guy there, didn't know his name but he was maybe in his late 20's or early 30's. we had asked him about some directions on your area map that you guys hand out, we pointed out what looked like a street and asked him what was the name of the street and instead of politely saying this is not a street, his remark was, no it's not a street, why would it be a street, we thought that was rude, we wanted to say something but didn't, everyone else was very nice, Thank You, Edward Lanzarin
Once we complained about the room we were upgraded to a beautiful room. The one we were expecting. Had to complain to get a room that was even tolerable. Would have liked to get a nice room from the start rather than feeling like we had to complain to have a good experience on vacation.
The staff was incredibly lovely! They were super helpful with events going on in the Quarter, and the hotel itself is a perfect location! We had amazingly comfy king bed with a gorgeous shared balcony off the back. I loved that among the bathroom amenities that they included a makeup remover toilet! That was truly a life saver after a long night of great music and libations in the neighborhood. We will definitely stay here again when we're back in NoLa! The bathroom was a touch out dated for those that mind, but we certainly didn't! :)
The location, while not in the heart of the French quarter like many other options, was very close to the great live music on Frenchman street. The staff was very nice and helpful. The property is extremely old. While I didn't mind that necessarily, the beds were very uncomfortable and the carpet looked like if could use a cleaning.
We came for our honeymoon and was pleasently surprised that our suite was so big and equiped with a full kitchen. It's where Paul McCartney stayed for an added bonus. The staff were very nice and accommodating. We arrived early due to having to take an early flight and had to check in early yet our room wasn't ready. The manager gave us some drink coupons to use at the bar due to having to wait. That was very nice considering we were checking in prior to the actual check-in time. I felt for a suite of that magnitude it woyld have been nice if they had an in-room coffee maker.
i've been coming to the Richelieu for years, and it's still my favorite hotel in New Orleans. All that New Orleans is: classic, faded, fun, vibey, and somewhat inexplicable :)
Location As above comment and door of the room did not close fully with single lock and just a chain, other locks did not work either
Love the location, the pool/courtyard and the friendly staff. The decor was a wee dated, old style TV sets.
Great rooms that are well designed for accommodating multiple family members
We were there for Mardi Gras 2017, the hotel is within walking distance to many of the attractions. But far enough away that you can have some quiet time. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lobby was always clean and smelled great as soon as you walked in. Room was spacious and clean with all the amenities. Also was nice that the tv in the room can connect with Netflix and Hulu. Nothing
Nice suite style room, good staff, location They were performing some work to the facade of the hotel. At 9:00 am they were literally right outside our room pounding with hammers. I looked out the window and a worker on scaffolding was right outside of our window. Had my girlfriend been in a state of disrobe, he would have been able to tell were all of her freckles are. 9:00am....on a Saturday....in New Orleans....in the Quarter. I had been out late drinking the night before, so you can imagine a 9:00 wake up call with a hammer was most unexpected....and un-welcome. No mention of the construction was made during our check in.
We were right in the middle of everything. All we had to do was walk out of the hotel and we were right there. The rooms were awesome. Way more than I was expecting. The staff was great. We will definitely have them on the top of our list when we return. Nothing
Hotel was very nice and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Everything in French Quarter was a short walk including Jackson Square. Would stay here again.
Rooms were really spacious and clean. Great location on the outskirts of the French quarter.. staff were friendly. Toilet didn't work, but husbands a plumber so wasn't an issue for us. We did report it on checkout.
We found a roach in our room the first day. When we told the woman at the front desk, she was nice and apologetic, but said it happens when there's rain. I understand, having dealt with roach in my apartment, but asked her to have the room sprayed, and wondered why that wasn't the default answer. The water stank. It smelled like putrid pond water, like it came from the river or Lake Ponchartrain. It was hard water too, so rinsing in the sink or shower is a long chore that never seems possible to finish. I believe this is what made the tub slimy and slippery. It didn't appear dirty, but it was impossible to stand in the shower without a wash cloth underfoot. The hotel is located on the 2nd-6th floors in the Ritz Carlton. The Ritz locks their doors in the evening, but the key readers don't allow Courtyard guests in, so you need to go around the block to get inside. Either way, it's a maze of elevators, since you always need to take at least 2 elevators to get to your room. The Ritz spa smells like an over-chlorinated YMCA pool, and permeates the entire lower floor. Coupled with the arctic air conditioning, coming in from the outside is a violent jolt with a mild burning sensation in the nose. And it's $25/person/day for the privilege of immersing yourself in the water.
Great staff and location
The staff was awesome, every person we encountered at the front desk and valet was in a great mood and extremely helpful.
My friends and I ended up here last minute when our original plans to stay somewhere else didn't pan out. We were a little stressed when we got there given that we were far from home in California and had to find this place last minute in an unknown city. But from the valet to the front desk, the staff was super friendly and helpful and made it so easy for us. Our room was clean and well decorated. In fact, the whole hotel is very nice and a great value for your money. On top of that, it's in the perfect location in the French quarter. if I ever find myself in New Orleans again, I'll definitely be staying here. There was only one thing and very minor. Being that it is the French quarter and so close to bourbon street, my friends and I had a late night. We knew we were going to want to sleep in and take our time getting ready in the morning, so I called the front desk to see about a late check-out. They said It was perfectly fine we just had to put the do not disturb sign on the door and be out by 1. At 10:45, housekeeping came knocking on the door. We yelled no thank you and then we could hear her talking to another employee about how we weren't supposed to be there. Then at 12:30, they came back again as we were preparing to leave. It wasn't a huge deal, but I think maybe the late check-out policy should be better communicated with the cleaning staff.
I loved the location and the staff !! They were very polite and helpful. I am not very wealthy and decided to spend my money on kayak.com and New Orleans rather than fly to another city. There was a rather high fee on the site and then the hotel charged 130$ (incredibly high amount ) to park at there facilty ... other lots were just as expensive and not guaranteed safe. It was just disappointing bc I saved up and felt like those costs were hidden and should have been included in the cost of the hotel.
The door separating the bedroom from the living room area. The bathroom was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable
We were super close to Bourbon St but never heard it- which was great! We had an interior room with no windows which I was a little apprehensive about booking at first but it proved to be the best idea ever! After getting in to town early in the morning and wandering around a lot, it was great to ha e a quiet, dark room for an afternoon nap. New Orleans is always busy and there are always people out on the streets at all hours- I highly recommend the windowless rooms for peace and quiet when it's time to get away:)
Staff and accommodations Nothing
The location was absolutely perfect: within a few short blocks to all the fun. But the location also provided much needed quiet at night. The facilities were clean and absolutely beautiful. I will absolutely stay here again and will tell everyone about this gem!
For the price, the inn provides access to the French Quarter, into which I went for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and nightlife. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable about the area, and eager to help. The room and inn have that French Quarter feel (e.g., courtyard, exposed brick, tall windows). The room was comfortable except for one point. The shower was glass, not a curtain, and was nice for such an inexpensive room. My friends who stayed at the same conference were jealous that I was staying in classier accommodations than they for the same or less! My room on the first floor had no weather strip on the bottom of the door and suffered a draft. Once plugged with a spare blanket, however, the room was cozy. Also, the electrical cords for the television were rather lazily slung over the TV itself. It looked shabby.
I really enjoyed my stay. I appreciated the historic feel of the room with brick walls. I was skeptical at first about renting a room with no windows, but it exceeded my expectations and wasn't as sketchy as imagined. There were plenty of lamps to substitute the natural lighting. The staff was very friendly. They greeted everyone who passed through the lobby with a smile and were helpful with suggesting local places to eat. Great location for the french quarter experience. I felt as if the carpet in my room had not been cleaned or vacuumed before my stay. There was obvious staining and debris visible. I am glad I brought slippers. It seems as if the cleaning of the rooms could be more detailed as there were trash under/behind the dresser and side table.
Close proximity to must see locations, restaurants and activities; staff was friendly & accomodating
Great location and next to everything. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful
The hotel is right at the base of the French Quarter. If you plan to stay in the Quarter, this is a great option. Noise and parking. During a busy time, self park will be almost impossible. We valeted in order to avoid searching for a space.
Very courteous service No window or refrigerator
The hotel was amazing. I went through Kayak and found this hotel with great reviews and $100 under our budget! When we walked in, the lobby was cute, perfectly decorated, and had the New Orleans feel we were looking for *cough*we're tourist*cough*. We were greeted by Lonny the bellman, who wouldn't let us lift a finger with our bags. He even gave us some free wine vouchers for a near by café. Check in was standard with no wait time and a friendly front desk staff. There is a small pool and patio area if you wanted to take a quick dip (by small pool, it is incredibly small, but still nice to have as an option). This hotel is cute, clean, and has the New Orleans experience with just a quick walk to Bourbon St, Café Du Monde, amazing shops in the French Quarter. Since we were driving from across country, we had an entire SUV packed with professional camera equipment, expensive camping gear, and pretty healthy supply of clothes etc. We were concerned about street parking and were told that if we valet our car with the hotel, it would be in a garage, 24 hour surveillance, and returned to us in the exact same condition we left it in. We thought "it's only $15 more than parking across the street, and we will have piece of mind" so we went with the valet. We remove our luggage for the night, brought in the camera gear (thank god) and carried on with our New Orleans experience as they drove our car off to the garage. Being a typical girl, I realized I left something in the car and asked the front desk if I could either walk to the car or have it brought around. She gave me quick directions and I headed to the parking garage. When I approached the booth in the garage, the gentlemen working pointed to the pay lot across the street, and handed me the keys. I was confused because it was just a $20 over night pay lot that we could have easily used instead of paying $15 more for the "garage" we were told our car would be in. I grabbed my items, double checked all the doors were locked, and took the keys back to the employees in the booth. When I got back to the hotel, I told my boyfriend about the differences in what we were told we were getting and what we actually got as far as parking went. We both agreed that there must be some reason for it and that the garage was full or they would move the car at some point. 8AM: Our hotel phone rings. The supervisor of the parking garage was calling to let us know he was ready to take our car to the shop to have the windows replaced. You can imagine our confusion, seeing as we had gone to bed late and had partaken in what New Orleans had to offer, IE we were hung over and had no idea what was going on. We get dressed and head down to meet with the garage supervisor who informed us that between 3-5am the driver's and passenger side windows had been broken and it looked like items were removed from the car. We head over and look over everything. Sure enough, it was in the same spot it had been the night before, sans two windows. It only looked like some center console change and our GPS had been taken(which was in a locked glove box). The parking garage paid for everything to be replaced that had been taken, and replaced the windows. Our plan was to leave at 12pm after some beignets from Café Du Monde, but ended up having to stay until 6pm waiting for the car to be fixed. Of course our room and valet charges were comped, and the staff acted accordingly, it was just an unfortunate situation that could have been avoided if the front desk had the real information regarding where their guests' vehicles were actually parked. Take what you will from this. Be it, sh*t happens and you move on, or it was a nice stay, something bad happened, and the hotel did the best they could.
I wanted an authentic New Orleans French market experience and that's exactly what I got at the French market inn. Everything was perfect. It was historical, right across the street from the Riverwalk, two blocks down from Bourbon Street, Clean, safe, right across the street from Cafe Du Monde. We decided that we would stay here every time we came to New Orleans. It was nothing that I didn't like. I'm used to stay and four star hotels so I had to adjust to the boutique feel of the room, but I bet it was comfortable and the atmosphere was authentic and great.
Location Had to pay for parking. No complementary toothpaste or bottled water.
Fabulous room! And really friendly staff. Shower seemed old and did not drain well.
front desk staff balcony complimentary morning coffee pool property outdated stains on sheets
Like? Its 3 blocks from Bourbon St. I normally stay in hotels much closer for just a few dollars more. There was nothing to like about this run down, disgusting place. I only gave it a chance because it was a last minute trip and this one popped up in my search. It is disguised as a pretty, boutique hotel...don't be fooled. We stayed on the 2nd floor. The first night getting off the elevator we had to walk thru vomit to get to our room, not the hotel's fault by any means, however clean up took forever. The double beds, extremely small and old. The pillows, I can't describe, something from the stone age. The bathroom, water leak above shower head in ceiling tiles, apparent water leak under floor tiles. Disgusting smell and stayed wet the entire stay. The second morning, we realized the puke was the least of the hotels problems. The hall carpet between our room and the adjoining room was squishy wet...and the smell was unbelievable. This wasn't a "just happened" issue, they were prepared with a blower just outside our door to dry the carpet. It's not going to dry until the leaks are fixed.. Overall, for the money, pay extra and go elsewhere.
I liked the location because it was on the periphery of the French Quarter. It was within easy walking distance of tourist sites, but in a quiet area. The room was average size, attractive. Our room looked out, not to the street, but to the attractive courtyard, where the heated pool was located. Staff were accommodating. Uber drivers seem to have trouble getting onto this section of Toulouse Street. It does not have much seating in the lobby. If you need a place to sit and wait after checkout, this is pretty tight.
We were moved to a great room with a balcony. The rooms that do not have a balcony have nice windows that are painted shut.
Children. I wish it was adult only.
Location n price Nothing
Hospitality, clean rooms, great view, pool, but location was everything especially for the French quarter No complaints here
Location in French Quarter was ideal. Atmosphere pleasant. Check in took hours waiting for a cleaned room. Restaurant at breakfast was understaffed and it took 45 minutes to take our order. And not even offered a second cup of coffee. Poor way to start a day!!
Had such a fun time here. The pool is a beautiful area to sit outside. Happy hour in the afternoon is perfect because they come out to the pool to serve you. The room was completely fine with a large bathroom. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for walking around the French quarter! We wish there was a refrigerator in our room.
Staff Garage and pool under repair
The room was comfortable, We were not informed the pool and courtyard were under construction. We traveled with my children who were both under 21. They were looking forward to hanging out at the pool. Unfortunately, not this trip.
The breakfast was the only good thing about this hotel. I was very disappointed as the facility as a whole was very dirty. The pool was covered in a green scum. The facility bathroom was filthy, our room was filthy. I would never stay in this hotel again nor would I recommend it.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. This was the second time we've stayed there and we will probably stay again.
Prompt with requests and had burn gel available when friend burned her thumb on a curling iron. Was told over the phone that they'd allow us to have a rollaway bed but when we got there we were told otherwise.
I was nervous booking hotels in NOLA because neither me nor my husband had ever been but we were so pleased with this hotel. The staff was friendly, helpful, and prompt! The continental breakfast was fantastic and there was no shortage of food at all. The only thing I could even complain about was the parking fee however that is really out of the hotels control with the shortage of parking in the city. The rooms were great, clean, and comfortable. Ours overlooked the courtyard which was beautiful and relaxing. The location was great, we were only a few blocks from Burbon street and the main street to the entrance of the hotel was well lit. We will definitely stay here again!
The hotel did an excellent job on their breakfast every morning! I am a non smoker and to walk outside my room on the balcony walkway and see cigarette butts all along the common walkway just turned me off. In one area I can say for 3 days in a row they were not cleaned up. Also the ashtrays at the tables around the courtyard area were never emptied. I was turned off completely and did not want to use the courtyard.
Beautiful hotel and very helpful staff
Central to the French Quarter easy walking distance to many attractions Hotel bar not open late
Location A/C didn't work. Had to get it fixed. Door to room: Lock would reset. Had to get new keys. Not enough parking. Cars double parked. Not enough room for Handicap parking.
It was a perfect spot to fit our needs. Close enough walk to everywhere we wanted to go. The courtyard area is gorgeous. The rooms are a good size. I went on a weekend that wasn't busy so parking was great and I liked that it was on site. Parking was also cheaper than anywhere I came across.
Hotel was great for our stay. Within walking distance to whatever we wanted to do and quiet enough at night to be able to sleep. Staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the breakfast. Would definitely choose this hotel again.
We enjoyed our short stay at the Best Western Landmark Inn. The hotel was well appointed with a nice outdoor pool & quaint courtyard. The thing that stood out most about this place - in a good way - was the front desk staff...very friendly, accommodating and helpful. The breakfast was decent and the lounge & courtyard very comfortable. It was a bit of a walk to Decatur Street however only about 10-15 minutes. I would definitely stay here again. Long walk to the river front & Decatur Street.
Romantic style of hotel. Poolside dirty. Big construction in front of hotel which is and was not published .....
Wonderful courtyard and pool area. Romantic hideaway in New Orleans
The staff was probably the best ive ever encountered. Very hospitable and friendly. Location was great! Drinks were bery good at the bar. And the best part was being able to relax outside in the pool area I pretty much liked everything. Just thought the beds could have been a little more comfortable. But overall great hotel. I would definitely stay here again
Great location. Great water pressure. Gym was more than adequate for me, although was small, so if more than a few people wanted to work out at the same time, it could get a little crowded. Very friendly/helpful staff.
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. They were overbooked due to a wedding for the first night of our stay but they comped us at the Sheraton two blocks away. Then we returned for the rest of our trip, and everything was excellent. Very nice pool area with cabanas, trees, vines, and drink service! Location was also perfect.
The location and the friendly staff Did not like the new decor at all! Air-conditioning was not working properly.
Great facility, great courtyar, cute pool, nice modern layout
All the above
We only stayed one night but the staff were excellent, very welcoming and friendly. They let us check in early and gave us drink tickets for the hotel bar May Bailey's, even giving us an extra ticket since there were 3 of us. The bartender at May Bailey's was great too, very amiable, and told us the history of the bar and humored my friend when he asked about ghosts. When we came back late at night and were taking pictures, one of the staff recommended a good view from the second floor balcony if we liked pictures. The beds were heaven. I didn't even want to leave the room, those beds were soooo comfortable! Breakfast in the morning was pretty good with lots of options, better than any continental I've ever had. We had a wonderful time, only wish we had been able to stay longer! In future trips to NOLA, I will definitely be staying at the Dauphine Orleans again. Nothing major, just a hair in the sink and one in the tub. Otherwise very cleanly.
Doorman mervin, attentive hardworking and caring. Excellent employee. Not clean, walk across the floor your feet are filithy. Tub not clesn.
The rooms were very nice and spacious. The staff was friendly.
Location and staff were great. There is some sort of humidity problem in the rooms and hotel hallways. The smell was hard to ignore.
Great hotel. Really accommodating. They let us check in early and then also held our big suitcase our last day there even after check out. When we came back to get it they had a cab waiting to take us to the airport.
Enjoyed the atmosphere, comfort of the beds and temperature control. Balcony was such a pleasant bonus, loved it at night and in morning. room had not been completely serviced when we arrived but front desk was quick to respond to our needs.
Near the famous Bourbon St. Dirty room and absence of small fridges in the room
The staff was the best from start to finish!! I have to give props to house keeping for the amazing job they do, Ms Julie moves through the hotel like greased lightning!! Ms Janet, our concierges, made it possible for us to see as much as possible during our stay and is very knowledgeable about the area and the best tours. Our doormen, King Saloman, Sir Larry and Sir Lawrance , as my husband liked to call them, were friendly, fun and very helpful. From front to back, the staff was amazing. Rooms are clean, comfortable and beautiful. The breakfast in the morning was wonderful, so many choices. Can you tell we loved our stay!!??
Access to Bourbon Street and remainder of French Quarter There is a usage fee and utility fee that has to be paid at the end which really seem like charges that should either be incorporated in to the price of the room or dropped. I read about them online and was prepared. However, other parties checking out at the same time were very suprised. Also, parked for an overnight rate at a garage one block away for less than their garage rate.
The staff was very accomodating in all respects. The location was also very convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. This is a perfect location if you are going to Mardi Gras. The bar was only open until 9 pm which wasn't convenient, but there was a bar at the corner of Bienville and Burbon which was very close.
Wonderful boutique hotel just far enough away from Bourbon street to avoid the noise and crowd but close enough to walk to anything in the French Quarter.
location and friendliness of staff
It was nice having the proximity of the hotel to multiple attractions.
Location Electrical Disrepair, worn furniture, bad service in restaurant, mechanical problem, all night noise
Great location, helpful staff, clean room, updated bathroom, great courtyards.
I have stayed at the St. Louis before, and it is my personal choice for location, atmosphere, and value in the French Quarter.
great position and good rate The hotel room could be more clean but it is not bad.
The hotel itself is really nice, especially the patio. The location of the hotel is also excellent The rooms were not really clean. The first room we had was so noisy that we could not sleep. We were then given another room which was quiet.
