Mountain biking and guide (Chip) were excellent. Wright's was outstanding dining all around. Food, service, presentation, ambiance, price. If the entire resort were run like Wrights, this would be a five star resort. Spa services, attendants were great. Megan O. at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The lobby is beautiful. A Maintanence engineering employee whose name I did not get. The bicycle room service provided a bit of whimsy and were a delight to watch them ride through the resort. The swim up bar is a nice touch, but perhaps should not be immediately next to the kids water slide. Was billed as a five star resort when I booked it. Don't get me wrong, this is a nice place with a lot of history. However, a five star resort implies attention to little details that separate you from other resorts. Those little details were missing. While I understand the main entrance is under renovation, the concrete blocks holding down the umbrellas for the valets looked cheap and haphazard. Not a good first impression. Upon arrival, no one offered to help with my bags, merely pointing me to the direction of the temporary main entrance. At that entrance, there is a small lip in the doorway, making it difficult to maneuver a roller bag. While the front desk did ask if I needed assistance with my bags, no bellhops were around if I did, and given the room location, they should have been more readily available, as my room in the garden wing is on the second floor accessible only by stairs. Upon check-in, I searched for ice (which with a bellhop could have been a non-issue at least for the first day). I could not locate the ice machine, or anything in the in-room literature to direct me. I found a housekeeper and asked her. She did not seem to know either. A maintenance engineering department employee coming out of a guest room overhead the conversation and immediately led me to the nearest ice machine himself. Unfortunately it was broken. Not only that, there was a bus cart full of dirty dishes stowed in front of it. Again, this is the kind of little detail a five-star resort takes care of. The ice machine in the adjacent paradise wing seemed more designed for "back of the house" rather than for a guest to be accessing it. Service at Frank and Albert's was very nonchalant. It did not seem as is they cared if we stayed to eat or not, or enjoyed our meal. Everything seemed to be under construction at once, causing noise throughout the day, from early in the morning until afternoon. When I asked about this, several, employees' response was "well, it's the slow season...." as if I should have lower expectations because it's August. Again, a little detail a five-star resort should nail. Guests should not notice a difference in staff attention regardless of "season." A few other "little details": In the lobby bar, the cords for the TVs and speakers were haphazardly hanging, not neatly along the wall. There was visible water damage on one of the corner speakers. A large cobweb was hanging in the corner and blowing with the AC. There were several areas where grout or paint had dripped onto the pressed concrete blocks from recent renovations but were left there, not removed. The pool desk was open and appeared to be staffed, but was unmanned for five minutes, leading me to walk behind the desk to help myself to clean towels as no one was around. Ultimately, we cut our stay a day short and moved to a different area five star resort, where we did not experience any negative issues.
Lots of places to sit and talk. Good facilities. Newly renovated rooms are very nice. Staff is great! Smoking in the general seating areas outside

My room was nicely renovated but bathroom much to small. The shower when in use would soak the bathroom floor. The property is getting tired looking, time for a face lift. I returned after 10 years and was disappointed to find gym still to small, spa uninspiring, exercise studio and bike/tennis area a throw back to 1980. I would return to the front portico each morning from a long run and was never greeted by bell staff or offered bottled water as i stood there recovering from the run and sweating from the desert heat. I have become so accustomed to being greeted by staff with bottled water and towel upon returning from jogging at all great hotels that i really resented having to ask for it. The main lobby is beautiful and I enjoyed evening cocktails on the patio adjacent to the lobby. The bar staff was lovely. Lunch and breakfast in Frank and Albert's was painful to endure. Breakfast was so delayed with mistakes to the order and lunch was mediocre. The cafe also disappointed. One meal at each was one too many. Best meals were all off property. My daughter and I walked thru the shops and found once again we were back in the 80's. We love to shop so it was hard to believe there was almost next to nothing to buy. Housekeeping was a bit lacking of management, it seemed. Dirty dessert dishes lingered in my room for two days. The Scottsdale - Phoenix area has so many fabulous resorts, it's to bad The Biltmore doesn't seem to be one of them anymore.
We celebrated our anniversary and were upgraded to a beautiful suite, and the front desk staff sent a beverage, chocolates and fruit to our room when they learned. Loved the room, the grounds are amazing and enjoyed the amazing amenities. We're planning to return every year.
Nice pool and gym. Great drinks at the hotel bar. Beautiful hotel. They seemed to be incredibly short staffed in terms of housekeeping. On our first night, our room wasn't ready for check-in at 6:30pm -- 2.5 hours after the hotel's check-in time of 4pm. It seemed like it would work out in our favor because we got a room upgrade since our assigned room wasn't ready. But then on our second day our room wasn't cleaned until 4:30pm and on our third day, they didn't clean the room at all -- and we were out of the room from 10am until 9pm! When we called the front desk, they offered to send someone to clean the room, but it took 40 minutes for someone to show up.

Many luxury features. Service very good and happy hour nice. Hot tub not warm, bed sagged in middle, no robes, landscapers started gas power hedge trimmers at 8:35am for 45 minutes in courtyard next to room.
Truly beautiful hotel. Beautiful grounds. Upgraded us to a private cottage room free of charge. Would love to stay here again soon.
The resort is beautiful. The wait staff at the restaurant was fantastic. Check in was delayed until after the check in time and there was no apology for this. Staff at pool were not very friendly and very slow.

We were allowed to stay at the pool and to use the spa facilities to shower after we had checked out and before our evening flight. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.
The Royal Palms offered the perfect oasis for my boyfriend and I to completely relax and enjoy one another. We had the best vacation drinking Mai Tai's, Miami Vice's and Woo Woo's by the pool while catching some rays and laughing with each other in complete bliss. The room was perfect for romance, drinking wine on the balcony while over looking Camelback mountain and boning in the huge king size bed, tub and shower. Thank you Royal Palms and see you in 2015...Woo Woo
We loved our time here! The grounds are beautiful and there are so many small little spots to sit and relax. Service is top notch. Access to the spa as a hotel guest is a huge advantage as well. Loved everything about our stay!

I loved the cozy rooms, I get cold very easily so I was able to turn the heat on full blast while being in a SUPER comfy bed. Room service was amazing and very quick and the staff were very nice and helpful.
Nothing Hvac was loud. Tv had cords and boxes hanging out the side. Guests ran around screaming and play until 11pm

I like the location on 16th Street. Nice bars and restaurants close by. Water park was fun. Rooms are a bit dated. Water park was smaller than I was hoping. Not a lot of choices for dining on resort during summer.
The amount of space for the King bedroom suites was very accommodating. There are two separate rooms, a living room area with a pull out bed is great to use if you have additional folks with you or children, and a separate bedroom in case you want more privacy. The staff were very knowledgeable and responsive. I didn't need much assistance, but for the few questions or needs I had, they were quick to aid me. The resort is kept up well. It has stayed up-to-date since my last stay there 20 years ago. I'm happy to see it has been kept in good condition. I went to the spa and the masseuse was incredibly experienced and did an exceptional job. I would highly recommend the spa. There are a few small areas that the resort could improve on: -I noticed it was very difficult reaching hotel staff by phone. I tried every single line (ie Guest Request, Room Service, Front Desk..) just to try to reach someone. This happened to me about 5-6 times within my first 36 hours. They could work on beefing up availability of folks to answer phones. -The spa was fantastic, and one of the showers was very dark, and had one ceiling light which was not in the shower. This made the room dark after pulling the shower curtain. It didn't do justice to the overall appearance to the spa. -Also I would recommend the spa supplying a few creature comforts in the locker room, such as disposable combs for people to use after showers.
Easy check in They boast "millions of dollars in recent renovations" but the rooms are just awful. I remember this resort from many years ago, and at the time it was very nice. They have basically let the whole place become run down and have milked it for all the money they can get out of it. It is a run down crappy "resort" now, and should be condemned.
The hotel was very kid friendly and beautiful. The river ranch was a blast. Our room was large with a great view. Our room was dirty. It didn't look like the bath tub had been cleaned at all. I had to rinse several hairs down the drain before I could even shower my kids. The carpet was absolutely terrible which became extremely noticeable once my 10 month old started crawling on it. The service was ok some of the staff was super friendly and helpful others were almost rude. All of that being said, I would still stay here again with high hopes of the room being a little cleaner.
Nice rooms for the price, fun waterpark, but the pools were dirty and the pool pavers were blistering hot on our feet.
Aging but acceptable property The practice of a mandatory resort fee seems to be a gouging tactic if you don't use the services. Not against this property specifically, just the industry practice. Other than that, a pleasant stay.
The pool was great! The pool staff was excellent and always around if you needed anything! We were unable to check in early, so they said they would text us when our room was ready which should have been by 4 because that's the time of check in. Around 4:30 still no text, so we decided to go check ourselves. When I spoke with the woman at the front desk about checking in she said our room was still not ready. Luckily she moved something around and got us into a room, but what if I hadn't gone to the front desk and just waited for a text who knew how long we would have waited. If check in is at 4 then we should have been in a room by that time. Also the housekeeping never came to clean our room on the second day which I found very odd.
This place is beautiful. The grounds and buildings are recently remodeled and they are very clean. The room had a lot of space. Parking was great, and the resort fee was actually worth it for once. They give you a lot for the $24 a night fee, I had no complaints.
Appreciated the free shuttle to and from the airport, as well as to neighboring restaurants. The complimentary breakfast buffet had plenty of choices, including scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, various breads and pastries, yogurt, etc. Rooms are spacious, with a door separating the bedroom from the living room. Two large flat screen tv's, locking safe, large refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. King bed is super comfortable with pillow top mattress! Plenty of large towels and good water pressure. Internet access was reliable and strong. Bathroom is very small, and it was very difficult for both of us to get ready in the morning. The sink was next to the toilet, as opposed to being outside the bathroom, as in other hotels. Hair dryer only had medium heat setting - plenty of power, but needed warmer temp. Most rooms surround the pool, and one night the families using the pool were really noisy. The noise reverberates!
Celebrate New Year's Eve with an early check-in and stay at the Doubletree and early dinner at 6 PM and the nearby transportation to our event departing at 8 PM fantastic
The only things redeeming about this property are the free parking, free breakfast and warm cookies. This hotel is dingy, rundown, and desperately needs renovation. The room doors are also not within a closed building. This Double Tree is nothing like any of the ones we've used in the past. Save your money and look for a cleaner, safer and nicer overall property.
It was a wonderful hotel, great breakfast, comfy room, and friendly staff. I was traveling alone and my room was on the 5th floor quite a distance from the office and a little hike through the foliage and pool area. Even from the parking lot entrance, closest to the elevator I needed to take, I had to travel down a dark walk area by the laundry. I didn't feel unsafe but it could be a recipe for disaster. I checked in after dark and the lighting is limited around the pool area for the ambiance but this made it difficult to figure out where to go. I would have preferred something closer and should have asked.
The hot buffet breakfast included is fantastic in quality and expectations. The set up of hotel is wonderful as all views ou can see mountains and planes taking off (the noise from planes was not an issue even though you felt like you could grab planes out of the sky. I would recommend this for all of my relatives who would visit me and for all of you wbo have no idea where you should stay.
We liked the size of the room. And it was clean We did not like that some of the channels on the television were fuzzy, and more than that, the pool was very dirty.

The location was close to the airport and only a short drive to University of Phoenix Stadium. It was perfect for a quick in and out trip.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and nice size. Very lovely outside pool with plenty of clean towels. The free breaksfast bar was fresh and delicious. First visit our family was put into handicapped room and the shower facilities were extremely messy with 4 people showering.
Very close to airport, stylish rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Close to airport and tramline, meaning constant background noise. Hallway and adjacent rooms also conducted lots of noise.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Loved that they had a shuttle to and from the airport. We ate at the Ruby Tuesday's right by it and had a great time with some of the locals. Aloft is close to the light rail, which was very convenient for us since we were going to the Diamondbacks game in downtown Phoenix. Would definitely stay here again. The price was also great! The only complaint that we had was that there was some construction going on that started at 530 am, which woke us up way earlier than needed.

Nothing The front desk staff we were very rude. They insisted that the room was not paid for even though I showed them proof that I prepaid. As a result of the lack of customer service, I did not check in to the hotel I will never book at another Aloft property nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone else.
Clean, comfortable. Planes, trains and automobiles. Heard them all, all night long.
I didn't contract any disease Rundown dingy with homeless people and prostitutes hanging around. Very noisy. Towels, when you could get them, were dirty gray and Iike sandpaper
staff is super, price is great. I love that they encourage people to go green and not have their sheets washed daily - they give $ back for every day you don't get clean towels and bedding. I highly recommend Aloft
My young daughter liked the modern decor. She is averse to older looking bathrooms but liked the modern bathroom style (both public and room restrooms). The place was clean for the price we got. Would consider other places in the < $100 category. Wish there was a complementary breakfast included but there was options nearby in the area.
The staff were very freindly. I ate at the resteraunt and found it to be surprisingly good
the courtesy of the gentleman at the reception desk and efficiency checking us in. on arrival at hotel front entrance, no one to help take luggage from car to reception area (there was a staff member with cart just inside the entrance but we were totally ignored, he calmly looked away while we struggled to get the luggage inside) and no coffee maker in room
the food lost & found never calls you back, nor they answer the telephone.
Every one of the service people at the hotel was extremely polite and helpful. The fee for parking at the hotel was $6 a day, but I was told I would not pay for the night I stayed at the hotel. It was only applicable for the four days I left my car for my trip. However, when I returned I was told there was a $12 valet fee for the night I stayed there. WHAT???? That was NEVER mentioned and the attendant didn't charge me when I said I'd never heard of that.

The location so close to Sky Harbor Airport. The size and comfort of the room. The frequency of the airport shuttle. The service and competence of the bar staff left a lot to be desired. The lobby entrance is so dim that it looks really dingy and rundown, which, unfortunately, gives a poor first impression that colors everything else you see subsequently.
Evrything from the attention paid by the employees to the cleanliness and comfort of the room. Would definitely recommend it. Great price also for such a luxurious looking room. Nothing I can think of. Then again, I just stayed one night. Came at 18h and left by 10h the next morning. From this point of view, it was perfect.

This is the second time we have stayed at this Hampton Inn. We like staying here because of its central location. The rooms are comfortable and clean.
Breakfast -the food was good if not outstanding. The coffee and tea available 24 hours was a nice touch. Crowded breakfast room. Our view was the parking lot and medical buildings. Staff were good but they couldn't make up for the hotel facilities. Drains didn't work properly and shower head couldn't be adjusted.

The room had everything I needed to make my stay comfortable. I tried the breakfast and couldn't go back. I had to find other alternatives for breakfast.
Breakfast was awesome. Super friendly and professional staff. Didnt like the room decor. Nice pool area and great jacuzzi. I got three bug bites and I'm pretty sure they came from the room.

When my husband went to use bathroom the water in toilet was brown, then after flushing the toilet kept running he had to stick his hand in toilet to get it to stop. Meanwhile I had called for pillows and they said we had to come to get it at desk ourselves because the person was doing happy hour. After the third time he just fixed it We figured no one available. In the morning he is doing room sweep to make sure we had everything he held up a sock and comb from under bed that was not ours. When addressed to front staff she said well I would refund you something but you are a prepay. I stopped going to best western year sis ago for poor quality, we decided to give another try... Won't do that again.
Close to the airport. Breakfast was included and there were plenty of items to choose from including fruit, yogurt, eggs and sausage. The walls were very thin and we could hear the people talking next door. When we turned the fan on it smelled of mold and sweat.
Every thing a good hotel should be. Carpet in room was very dirty.

I really liked having two separate rooms(full bedroom and living room). I also really liked the kitchen and eating area! I didn't like the view or the fact that there was a visible stain on the sofa but overall the place was very nice and staff were very accommodating!
Great Place. We loved the suite with complete Living Room area, Kitchen, Bedroom and Bath. Two great TVs. Internet. Free Breakfast and Dinner. Can't beat the value or the comfort. I will stay here again.

Great location. Near stores and restaurants. Handicap room does not offer pull out sofa. No microwaves. We had to call and ask. Or non smoking room smelled like smoke.

Our room was old little space in bath area, very dark, carpet did not appear updated old , wall paper was old looking. There appeared to be a little prostetuting going on when we returned each night, very disturbing . Would not want to stay again.
Location to the airport. I paid for my room on Kayak when I booked the riom. When I arrived the girl at the desk told me there was no way I paid online. I was ready to leave and she caught me and said she received payment thru Kayak. Then she sill tcharged my credit card. It is now 10 days later and still they have not refunded my money for the second charge and have never even offered a discount or anything for their mistake.

Convenient location near wonderful shopping area and there were many fine restaurants within easy walking distance in additional to the good one right on the premises. The cooked to order breakfast was another plus.

GORGEOUS, clean, brand new building. They actually are not 100% finished building yet, but the construction is well kept under wraps and the rooms are gorgeous and brand new. I love the modern feel. Staff was so wonderful.
Nothing Have a menu for food but non of which can be ordered because they actually didn't have any food. Extremely loud outside the room all night long. Uncomfortable bed. A renovated shower that was half the size of the room with one shower head in the corner...not sure about the thinking behind it.
