I attribute the upgraded airplane to the fact that this was a direct flight from HEL to JFK. Still no wifi though... Their magazine says it's coming. Upgrading to Economy Comfort is worth the fee especially if you get a bulkhead seat. Otherwise you are still pretty crammed in with maybe 6" more leg room. But the bulkhead seats are set well back from the wall to give my long legs plenty of room to stretch and get in and out of my seat. My friends in Economy looked miserable :( The chili con carne with rice was an improvement over other airline meals but still room for improvement - mostly in presentation I guess. Lingonberry 'salad' though a bit sour for me, was a nice Finnish dish to sample. Like the cheese and crackers. Departed and arrived on time. Liked the flight tracking that showed you very detailed what you were passing over and even gave us a bit of info and photos about highlights of each region flown over. Nice touch."
Minus: "This plane was such an improvement over the "bucket" that flew me to Europe that it has restored my faith in Finnair as a valid carrier for my yearly trip to Europe - like I said, probably because it is a direct flight to New York rather than connecting to another European (not Scandanavian) city like Milan. I would probably not use Finnair to access other parts of Europe for this reason. (On the departure end, the regional Finnair flight from Milan to Helsinki was also sub-standard.) I do think the check-in procedure is still cumbersome - self check in with bag check, though started at kiosks, still results in a long line just to hand off your bag to a counter agent. A few more agents would likely solve that problem... But it was better than going the other way - JFK was a nightmare! Helsinki only slightly better."

I am almost 70 and I wear hearing aids--- one helped me with my chair and answered my questions .... I felt VERY taken care of/- I was just one row after the business class with the wall ahead on right side of plane, nice leg room and a nice seat mate I am happy for the chance to respond as I was happy I had decided for the upgrade------------even though I had purchased an upgrade for my flight over to Barcelona only to find out on the day of check in that my flight was cancelled----- but that is when I called British Air and a lovely representative named Beth Duncan spent over 2 hours on the phone with me---- finally getting me on Iberia in order to get to my family reunion------ So....... on two occasions during this trip to my sister's house British Air was just wonderful and I thank you very much------- at the end of our flight one of the men made arrangements for me to get to go upstairs and look at the upper deck as I had never done that before------- as as retired teacher that was fun to see Thank you so much!!!"

Minus: "The uncontrolled screaming of a certain child on the flight. Unable to nap at all! Bad for an 11 hour flight."

Kaptenen sa något som man inte uppfattade i början av flighten men sedan ingen information alls på hela vägen till Göteborg."

Beställningen av bagage online är vilseledande så jag hade tydligen bara beställt incheckad väska åt ena hållet och fick därför betala 400 kr för att ta hem den. Detta hände flera passagerare som var arga och jag undrar om ni sätter detta i system för att tjäna mer. Jag reste med Ryan Air för ett par år sedan och lovade mig själv aldrig mer, men ville gärna ge det en chans till men nu vet jag definitivt att jag aldrig reser med er igen och skall dessutom varna alla för detta och inte blir det billigare heller med alla extrakostnader som ni tar ut. Fy för uselt flygbolag!!"
Minus: "Långsam ombordstigning. Matbrickorna lutade så min dryck föll ner på mig. Fick ej glas till drycken. Drycken var ej väl kyld. Personalen gick in i mig med både armbågar och serveringsvagn När jag råkat somna lite mot gången."

Minus: "We arrived at the airport over 90 minutes before our flight and were never warned we’d be charged a hefty fee if we didn’t check in ahead of time. We did try to check in prior, but there was an error in my confirmation code and it didn’t work. They told us we couldn’t get on our flight, then charged us $487 euros to take a different flight and required us to check all our bags! A total scam and they were extremely rude!!"

Minus: "På planet sa personalen ingenting om förseningen och när man påpekade vad som skett på flygplatsen kunde de inte göra got för att kompensera. Jag bad om vatten och fick svaret att det inte fanns något vatten. Då tog en av värdinnorna fram sin privata vattenflaska och bjöd mig. Ett riktigt nonchalant beteende från Rya Airs sida vilket allvarligt talat gör så att jag aldrig mer kommer att välja att flyga med er, kommer heller inte att rekommendera er till nära och kära. Riktigt besviken!"
Minus: "I couldn’t get the flight because I couldn’t find a good services from their representatives in airport. I went to 4 desks with no helpful. So, I change this airline to Easyjet. I’ll never use Ryanair."

Then, just to top off the wonderful morning - I got an agent whose attitude was extremely rude and poor to inform me correctly what was the next steps and procedure. Finally, both my hand bags carry on get checked in and now I am stuck at the airport waiting for two little bags that could’ve easily got on top of my compartment where I was."

Minus: "I HATE RYAN AIRs CHAIRS! I always fall asleep when I fly and then I am falling forward. After 1 or 2 hours flight I end up with nack pain, back pain and a grumpy mode."

Minus: "Jag tycker att Ryanair borde bjuda på kaffe och liten bulle under tre timmars resa men mat skulle beställas ifall man vill ha. Stolarna är inte alls bekväma men man klarar sig på gränsen, att sitta tre timmar på de utan att ändra ställning /ergonomisk är inte bra för ryggen ."

Minus: "Crew took about the entire flight to handle the food and drinks, coming from both ends. This caused a block to the bathrooms and people waiting long periods and finally just stuffing in all over the place to get passed the carts. Expensive flight for us since we had to buy the same day. While most of the security attendants were great, I did have to wait a very long time to get a pat down I requested rather than go through the scanner (required to be in a separate room) that was 95% the same as the one they were giving everyone after they came through the scanner, with the only difference being a hand and belt line swipe and paperwork. I have had this same procedure done in three airports prior on this trip and all were more aggressive/thorough and did not require a separate room and extreme wait. Though again, all the female staff were great."

Minus: "They nickel and dime you for everything. Bags, seating, boarding passes. I was given no warning that we had to print boarding passes beforehand. The lines were very long at airport with only 2 people working desk. Flight's don't take off on time and seats are very small."

Minus: "Interminable lines to simply drop bags with pre-paid bags and boarding passes printed at home -- It took an hour! Check-in staff seemingly oblivious to what is happening around them. About the most cramped seats on any airline I've taken (and I've flown in virtually all parts of the world, and I'm small). Constant harangue over the PA from in-flight staff trying to sell things, even lottery tickets."
Plus: "Price was ok if you don't have to check in luggage."
Minus: "Had to check on line to avoid a check in fee !!! Seats are crammed, thank God it was a short flight. Long line to check bags & to board"
Plus: "Boarding was ridiculous from both ends of plane with people from back end squeezing past people from front end to find their seats. They list my checked backpack on a flight from Amsterdam to Spain. It took 5 days to get it back. Crazy!"
Minus: "Everyone had backpacks that got checked for free. Why did I pay to check my luggage? Stupid."
