The problem was related to me booking through a partner airline. The partner (American Airlines) couldn't help me because they couldn't access the BA seats. And BA couldn't help me on the phone to select my seat for some other reason (I can't remember). I had to wait until I got to JFK a few hours before the flight, by which time all the seats were filled and I was stuck in a middle seat. Basically, I think there needs to be better communication or coordination between BA and their partner airlines to help customers before the flight, and also it is absurd to charge $35 to choose their seat."

Minus: "The single Halloween size kit-kat bar that we were given as a snack. Was so small that I naturally believed that we could take more than one. I was politely told that the singe 3.5inch twin wafers were all that we were allowed per person. We have a candy jar, in our office and with the extra supply in the supply closet, we would have been able to give everyone at least two. So, my recommendation is if you are flying transatlantic, to stock up at Heathrow for extra food. Also, the seats were very very small. I was lucky and the plane was not sold out, so both flights my seat mate and myself were able to put a seat between each other. I found myself reasoning that for the price of the flight I was paying for transport to England not for comfort."

She said we could wait which we did and waited 2 hours to obtain a wheelchair (and came close to missing our plane) not to mention the stress associated with the whole check in process"

Minus: "Careless staff, unorganized, rude, long lines with slow working agents. We were traveling with our three and six year old and started with a weather delay and then eventually a cancellation. We stood at the Barcelona airport from 7pm until 2:30am with our children. Nobody offered us food vouchers, taxi or hotel. We had to ask and only got a hotel which was an hour away and taxi on us costing us over $100 euro! Everything closed and our children ate cookies from a vending machine for dinner. Finally we got to our hotel after 3am and slept until 6:30am to catch another taxi on us back to the airport just to find out it’s delayed and we would miss our connection in Madrid back to Miami. We arrived the airport again at 9am and at 3pm we’re finally given food vouchers for our hungry children to eat something. American Airlines has a direct flight from Barcelona to Miami but they insisted they couldn’t do that for us and we’d again stay another night in Barcelona at a hotel. This would all be fine if we weren’t traveling with small children, they didn’t have school and we didn’t have to work and had extra money to pay for all the inconveniences. This was by far the worst experience we’ve had and will never choose Tap again for our travels!"

And a very comfortable headrest which made snoozing easier."
Minus: "Contacting TAP Customer Service was a nightmare. It took forever before anyone answered the phone &, when they did, it was VERY difficult to understand their English. Forget reaching ANYONE after 9 pm; ditto for trying to do anything online, e.g., checking in, picking seats, modifying reservations, etc. If you are forced to do anything at night, prepare yourself for total frustration."

At least for spending money on airport food. After arriving in Houston, i had already planned on renting a vehicle to my final destination. Because of first delay, i had to drive in the middle of the night and finally arrive at finat destination at 4 am on Oct 5. Im going to bed now."

Brussels airlines literally saved my whole trip back from becoming a nightmare because I had a really short connection time in the Brussels airport. I was sprinting to the gate to make my flight and was running real late and they had waited for me! The staff at the gate and at the passport control all were very helpful. I was very impressed by everybody involved and so appreciated that I could make it home as planned instead of having to find a new flight."

My criticism was the overoptimism of the captain how quickly things would happen and on arrival in Brussels the total unpreparedness of the ground staff to cope with half a plane load of people with connections having missed those connections."

In addition, the host and his service was terrible. When I asked him for water, he told me that I could find it at the back of the flight and I should go get it myself. The other hostess on the other side was handing out waters to whoever needed it. When a passenger sitting next to me asked for a spoon to eat his meal, the host shrugged his shoulders and didn't come back with one. He was blatantly rude and ignored his passenger. We were also not given blankets on an 7-8 hour flight. It was only on request. People who had requested one were then asked to fold and return their blankets (they were not asked kindly) before landing. The selection of tv, music, and shows on board were terrible as well. Barely any selection. Needless to say, this was the worst service I have ever had on an airline."

This ruined my rental car and lodging reservations, and I'm now fighting both those agencies because of this botched flight and poor service. Additionally, the plane was ungodly hot. So much so that the crew apologized for our over the PA. Nothing was done to fix it, but it was blamed on the plane only being on auxiliary power while we were parked on the tarmac for the hours. That would've been understandable, but it didn't get better when the jet engines were on, so that excuse turned out to be just so many lies."

Minus: "The flight departure was delayed 1 1/2 hours, meaning we arrived in Rome at nearly midnight. No complimentary drinks on board. As a Star Alliance Gold member, I chose Brussels Airlines out of loyalty. But the cheap approach to customer care means I will have to reconsider flying with you in the future."
