First flight came in a few mixtures late, but then we had to wait our long turn to deplane, get on bus and wait for it to fill up with all slower passengers, drive to terminal, make it through passport control, take train to other terminal, and run 20 gates down where they were looking for us. We made it with 1 minute to spare from takeoff. They knew our bags were connecting and they made it. If they could've expedited our passage with a club car it would have been excellent."

I was telling a friend today, Swiss Air started with drinks, gave us a Parisian baguette sandwich, gave us a healthy breakfast of yoghurt warm croissant butter jam orange juice, drinks again, and several passengers surrounding me got special attention, one woman with a baby, a disabled person, and a teenager that was 6'5" was relaocated by the flight attendant without him even asking to a bulkhead seat for more comfort. You don't see this kind a attention to detail on any US flights or US airlines, so I noticed it. It was as if I was traveling back in the 70's or 80's when Airlines would compete for our dollars with their service. I mentioned to my friend that if I had a choice and Swiss Air was one of the choices, I'd choose Swiss Air over any other airline."

Meals were OK, and I was delighted that the vegan meals I ordered for my travel companion were right there as ordered. Not a common occurrence of late, I’m afraid, so I congratulate Swiss one getting this one right."
Minus: "Legroom is non-existent. This was by far the most uncomfortable aircraft I have ever flown on, with the possible exception of an Ilyushin 62 operated by Tarom in 1983. I felt bad for the man in front of me, with my knees in his back. That is, until he reclined his seat and put my video screen in my face. Not much to watch anyway, but it was impossible to lean forward at all. Boarding at JFK was rather chaotic."

Finally, there was no leg room at all. I realize airlines are trying to squeeze every passenger in that they can, but this was ridiculous. Minus: "I had to ask a neighboring passenger if her would allow me 20mins of my flight without his rear end in my face. He was a fairly large man and constantly bending over in the isle to chat with his family. His infant was being attended to by his wife who constantly paced around to shake the baby (I'm sure the baby was annoyed as well). The baby finally spat up on the floor and seat. Everyone in the family could not sit still more than 5mins at a time, jumping up, moving around, switching seats, passing items. The men turned the area into a social scene/bar. I was too distracted by all this activity hovering over me to enjoy reading or relaxing. I constantly had rear ends in my face, and I constantly had to dodge and lean in my seat. The aforementioned tall man even had the nerve to fold away my television monitor when I dozed off so that it would not be an obstruction for his activity. By then I'd had enough. The This flight was terrible. Non of the staff requested better conduct or mindfulness of the other passengers. I believe the airline should strongly consider having a separate space for large families, families with babies, or at least have a code of conduct to which passengers should respect for the sake of every paying customer's ability to enjoy such a long flight."

United rebooked us on a flight leaving the next day, and we are currently sitting in Chicago on a 6 hour layover. So no, I am not happy at all with this experience. We are missing a day in Italy and have been charged a day stay in Sorrento which we are unable to use. I have contacted United customer service to see if they can compensate us."

Plus: "The flight started with a visit in the recently renovated KLM crown lounge in Amsterdam airport. I liked the various seating options and of course the upstairs bar. The service on board was attentive and efficient, the food options I really liked (especially the Chinese dish) but also the little touches like the nuts & gouda cheese which were served in small porcelain bowls. The seat itself was very comfortable when sitting and the structure gives a lot of privacy. However for couples or friends travelling it's a bit cumbersome to have a conversation even when sitting in seats next to each other. Overall my expectations were fulfilled."
Minus: "This seat is not ideal for sleeping for taller persons (I'm 185cm tall) as the space to put the feet is very narrow and it's uncomfortable when lying on the back (as one cannot put them in the natural resting position). Cabin temperature could have been a bit lower for my taste. Crew needs better training with regards to transfer procedure in Chengdu."

Passengers were divided in 5 lanes, depending on their seating area withing the plane (for a more efficient boarding, I presume) but, by the time we all got to the actual aircraft, we formed another queue in the boarding bridge so it didn't feel like any time was saved or anything."

I had to wait for a small plane coming from Edinburgh then wait for it to be emptied of passengers and cleaned. This meant we were over 2 hours late into Istanbul. No explanation or apology. I then missed my next flight in Istanbul and had to purchase another ticket. I cannot believe that air passengers are treated in this way!!! I will follow this up with KLM when I go home from my holiday."

Plus: "Staff superb. They even surprised us with an exit row and a gift for my partners birthday! Amazing. Samantha and Dennis also took time to come and personally wish him a happy birthday. A lovely touch. This airline runs like clockwork. They are just great. The sandwich and stoop waffle are nice too."
Minus: "There is a bus to the plane, so that takes a bit of extra time but they are very well organized."
Plus: "Efficiency and speed of boarding was acceptable. I have no complaints about that aspect. The Comfort+ seats were worth the upgrade, pretty comfortable and reasonable legroom unless you have a big carry on stowed under the seat in front of you."
Minus: "The first announcement they made to all of us in the economy section was thay they did not have any headphones for anyone but business class. I was told when I booked the seat that the headphones would be complementary. So I did not bother to bring any assuming they were going to keep their word; I figure I'd make it work and watch a movie without sound. If that isn't bad enough midway through my nine hour flight my monitor went out and would not turn back on."

Minus: "The Premium Eco seats are a catastrophe. They don't recline: the seats only slide down slightly but the upper part of your body doesn't move much. This makes for a poor experience, especially on a night flight. Except if you need the extra width, Eco has better value."

If this were not enough, the airline also lost one of our bags so this week we have to file for compensation for both begin downgraded and for the contents of our 30 kilo bag which never made it to Ho Chi Minh. Air France was a complete and total disaster and I would strongly recommend all friends and colleagues to find alternative airlines for travel"

Sitting in exit row with no floor storage so this delay made it hard to find overhead storage above my seat. (Grrrr) Entertainment system didn't work which made the flight feel LOOONG. (They offered an in-flight credit, but I'd paid for premium exit row seat and had to choose between moving to working system in crowded middle seat or keep premium, exit seat. I decided to have them move me to a seat with a working entertainment system, which were available and they'd offered, but never happened.) When I got home, I discovered the gift I purchased with in-flight credit and my own money wasn't the one I'd requested from Duty Free catalog so now I have to figure out how to solve this problem. (COULDN'T GET IT RIGHT.) Premium exit row seat was narrow, due to in-seat tray table & entertainment system, but seatbelt mounts and thinly padded seat made it even more uncomfortable on a long flight."
