Minus: "When we tried to register for our flight, I was greeted with the fact that the name on the flight reservation was different than the name on the passport. The name on the flight reservation was Jim; the name on my passport is Francis James Donnellan. They charged me $60 to correct what they perceived as an inconsistency between the two documents. I found this frankly quite bizarre. I have literally flown around the world; I've taken many flights to Europe, the Far East, across the country, etc. and have never run into this as a problem. Over 50 years of travel, to be charged $60 by Norwegian for a perceived name inconsistency struck me as odd to say the least. Primera handled this "problem" without a charge and with a much better and more positive attitude toward it. Norwegian did not give an explanation as to why this was such an issue; the key point made was that James was not the same as Jim. Again, nothing in my experience suggested that there should be a problem here. My father's middle name was James, and he was always called Jim. Same with me. If they are in fact two different names as was suggested by Norwegian, no one over of my 75 years of life ever called attention to it. I wonder what would've happened if I had been referred to throughout my life as Frank, with the name on my birth certificate being Francis."

Minus: "here is why i am not going to fly norwegian anymore. they have a weight limit on carry ons. it's a scam. mine had clothing in it and was hardly packed tight and it went over the limit. this was an automatic checked bag fee of $60 each way. added $120 to my fee the moment i got to the airport on my first leg so much for discount airline. my 5pm flight home was delayed 2 hours.. then 3. then 4.. then no information then at 11pm the flight was officially canceled. we were given no hotels or instructions. panic'd passengers also with no real information were passing stories around. the most popular story was the flight is CANCELED YOU HAVE TO BOOK YOUR OWN NEW FLIGHT THERE ARE NONE FOR 2 DAYS! so i did. i booked a flight on my phone thinking i was stuck for 36 hours. At 1am they finally unloaded our bags off the plane. the bag that i wanted to carry on the whole time, mind you. Since there were "no hotels" according to the airline, i booked one within a few miles of the airport (airline does make it easy to reimburse for taxi hotels and food online). as I was leaving after 1am they finally made an announcement we will have a plane it will leave around 5pm and they will text us details, which was a slight relief. naturally they had no transportation for us, so another 45 min wait for a cab. I was able to cancel and get a refund on my new booking and had to trust that they would come through. ultimately they had some old plane from another airline show up that got us home as scheduled that day.. whatever. the screens were not working so that was just that extra punch in the gut. Things happen, planes break, and i certainly am all for making sure equipment is safe, but being stuck at the airport for little reason waiting for my carryon i was forced to check for a massive fee with no information until after 1 in the morning was disturbing."

Minus: "*Norwegian air charged 15 dollars per kilo extra for my bag that was heavy in my case it was 5 kilos so the total was 75 dollars. *The staff at the airport was not friendly at all, my daughter and I got the feeling that they (Check in staff) were looking to find ways to apply extra charges. *NYC Airports have some of the ugliest airports in the world, since I travel a lot I wish money would be invested on the airport to make a great first impression on travelers to NYC and the USA."

Check in leaving JFK was pretty long and not so smooth but all went well! Intertainment was fine and seats comfortable!"

Minus: "Boarding was delayed 30 min because Norwegian isn't very well organized. The boarding lounge at Gatwick has half the capacity of the aircraft, so people were packed in to a tiny space until boarding actually started. In-seat USB charger didn't work."
Plus: "I have to say, the only reason i bought this ticket was the low cost. I thought it was a bit too good to be true, and it was! The round trip cost beat other airlines hands down, and it was a direct flight, and the flight times allowed me to get picked up to/from the airport(s) with ease. Little did I know that it was "low cost" because they nickel and dimes you for everything else."
Minus: "I found out that to take luggage, buy a meal and reserve a seat, one way, was $45 for each thing. That would total $270 above the base fare of the ticket, which puts the ticket cost back with the rest of the options. I did not order food, since I usually don't eat much on the flight, but they would not even give me seltzer water because that was for people who ordered meals. Once on the flight, you had to pay for a blanket and headsets! it was a trans-atlantic nonstop flight! These things were not clearly identified before flying. I think that if the company was more transparent, I would have made other decisions. the stewardesses were alright. nothing special. I did feel in general that I was treated a little less than human. The whole lack of a meager snack and beverages...plus no blanket was a little odd. One woman was allowed to carry her dog in her lap the whole time, and they treated the dog really well. I guess there are always discrepancies in life, but that one irked me. That being what it is, the flight was on time, and my luggage arrived on time and in tact. Its all already in the past, which it would have been had I paid twice as much for the flight. But I paid half as much. So that is a win! Not sure if I would fly Norwegian again."

I got up to ask about it and they, again, looked annoyed, doubted that I had ordered it, looked it up on their computer, and gave it to me eventually without any apology whatsoever. The most unfriendly staff I have had on an airplane. I understand it's a budget airline, but there is no need for that poor level of service."

The thing that made me really upset was that we all (passengers) left the terminal to get to the plane and we had to wait outside till we could start entering the plane. I really don’t understand why someone made us to wait outside while it’s freezing cold when the doors are not open or plane is not ready. That was unreasonable and ruined my trip."

Wizz Air mobile app barely works when required (for boarding passes, etc) Not enough room in overheads for all the carry on they allowed, had to sit with bag and jacket on my lap for flight, as no room under seat either."
