Minus: "There were a few small things that could have been better (Which I'll mention), but the worst thing about the flight was the airport. Ataturk Airport is a mess. After the attempted coup, they really upped security, forcing all international flights to go through a second security screening after transferring from another airport. It's understandable but the line moved at a molasses-like speed when I had only 25 minutes to make my connecting flight. The security personnel were rude, as well. Also, when I went to make my connecting gate in Cairo, there was no one at the gate after the required boarding time (Because security had held us up), forcing some of us to board the plane without having anyone to show us onto the plane (Very scary). The flight boarding was chaotic, and no announcements were made about what we were supposed to do. Besides the lack of boarding gates, the only other serious complaint I had against Turkish Airlines (Because it really was great overall) was that the pilots and flight attendants were very hard to understand. I have taught ESL for the past 5 years, and I still had a hard time as an American understanding their English. Also, they frequently didn't understand or misunderstood questions that I would ask them. I've never had a hard time understanding flight attendants on an international flight, but I only understood about 20% of what anyone said over the loud speaker in the plane. And it's nice to be able to understand when the pilot says, "We are experiencing some turbulence and would like everyone to buckle their seatbelts until it passes." Two small things remain: 1. The bathroom trash cans were full on every flight (A small thing but makes everything feel "trashy"). 2. The flight attendants seemed unhappy, and they definitely seemed unhappy to be serving us. I can only assume they are that way because they aren't treated particularly well by their bosses."

A huge problem is that each of these international airports require that you go through the security check again. For that reason, connecting legs of trips through these airports should not be scheduled so close together. Heathrow is the worst, with security staff that, at best, don’t care that you have a close connection to make and just ignore your pleas to speed up the process, and at worst, are just plain rude."

I wanted to check in online but I had to no reservation or ticket number is provided so I had to go to my old reservations to find it. .Next I wanted to pay for my luggage online but there was no link given. It says you can do it cheaper on Lufthansa.com but I could not find where you can actually do that. All in all spend 30 minutes with no result. Had to pay at check in $44 instead of $27. And it was just one of many other problems and inconveniences with their website."

I then missed my next flight in Istanbul and had to purchase another ticket. I cannot believe that air passengers are treated in this way!!! I will follow this up with KLM when I go home from my holiday."

We received messages saying that the flight was cancelled but then we were told to ignore that. We were told that we would have an update every 10-15 minutes but by the time we had the next update was 1 hours later, we were told that the plane will depart at 15:50- which we did. But we also sat on the plane for an extra 2 hours or maybe even more (couldn’t bare watching the time at this point) because the man that was supposed to push the plane backwards in order to reverse the plane didn’t turn up so we then had to wait for all of the other planes to take off before we could. Eventually the plane set off at 18:20 and I got in France 19:30-20:00 ish?"

Minus: "Comfort on these long haul flights is not expected in economy - the seat next to me was free which came in very useful as the person in front of me reclined almost immediately and kept throwing himself about in his seat in vain attempts to get comfortable - I was able to move over so I wasn't disturbed by his person. Why they have reclining seats is a mystery - it doesn't make it appreciably more comfortable for the person reclining and it reduces leg room for the person behind, makes it more difficult to watch the screen (despite the tilting feature) and means that the tray table is resting on your knees during meal times."

Minus: "I used LOT Airlines for the very first time to travel to Riga, Latvia. The problems started at the LOT check in counter at O'Hare International terminal. I packed my weeks worth of belongings into a 21" carry on bag expressly so I wouldn't have lost baggage issues. The customer service person forced me to check my bag because it was 3 kilograms overweight even though it was the correct size for carry on. As you can probably guess the bag was lost in the transfer in Warsaw, Poland. After filing a lost baggage claim at Riga, Latvia airport I never heard a word of support, communication, or even an apology from customer service at LOT airlines. I called them several times and their tracking system could not locate the bag during the entire week I was in Latvia. Now I am home in the states and have received an email from LOT Airlines stating that my bag is now at the airport in Riga, Latvia and to contact them for shipping and reimbursement for any costs. LOT is a TERRIBLE AIRLINE! Atay Away!"

When we flew with my little daughter - toddler to the destination the plane was late and as a result we were late to another plane, so they sent us to the same destination country but to the different place and then I had to find out were to go further while our luggage was lost (found in 3 days). When we flew back, the plane was late once again and I was told that we might will be left until next day morning, so lots of nervous and stress. The food provided was very poor as well - basically just small chocolate bar and water, tea or coffee, so if you are hungry it would not really help you."

Minus: "Chaotic flight that was delayed due to overbooking and the failure to deal with it in any competent way. An apparently overbooked flight led to a cascade of errors - there seemed to be a total breakdown in communication between the gate/services team and the ground crew, etc. as to where the extra passengers came from and what could be done with them. They even admitted to their being many misunderstandings among the LOT staff themselves as they struggled to rectify the situation. The worst outcome was that we got trapped in the bus, right outside the plane, for 30 minutes. They had sent us to board while back at the gate they were still arguing over who should actually be on the plane. During this time there was no sign of the cabin crew at all. After 10 minutes or so the driver left to go and have a chat with some of the ground ops team and we were left on our own as the windows steamed up and small children started to cry. The whole thing was an appalling exercise in miscommunication - both between staff themselves and between staff and passengers."
Plus: "The food was good for an airline. on business class dreamliner from Toronto to Warsaw the seat is comfortable, if a little short for a 6'5" person. In the sos called "buisness class" to Israel the seats are as crampped as any cattle class of a low cost. I wish those idiots that invented "euro club" would understand that it is a first class ripp-off and that if they are only flying two people per side using real comfortable seats makes faar more sense. In short - euro club is BS of teh worst class."
Minus: "The atitude of teh staff on teh flight was OK. Other than that very sour including teh check-in and teh businss club. Going through the border control in Warsaw took 45 minutes. Luckily the flight was delayed. In short, the attitude is strictly old fashion eastern block. On the dreamliner business classs the TV's did not work, but in any case they are way too far (about 6 feet) from the passanger for comfort. Very impractical."

Minus: "The initial flight from Warsaw to JFK was delayed...therefore, the JFK to Warsaw was delayed...to the point that the Warsaw to Katowice flight had departed. Good news(!)...there's on more flight...at 2230. I opted out for the train instead. LOT graciously gave me a voucher to take a taxi to the train station in Warsaw. It all worked out. It took about an hour to gather my luggage at Warsaw due to the bag being re-booked on the later flight automatically."
Minus: "the economy class seats are torture for anyone of normal size. 10 hours with three 6-foot tall people crammed into a row was excruciating."
