Minus: "After checking in for 1.5 hour, the crew told me that my name is not in the system 15 mins before boarding. Of course, I could not get on that flight. Result, staying extra 12 hours in the airport plus force to stay one night in Guangzhou."

Talk about ruining the whole travel experience because after a 16 hour flights your bag isn’t here and no one seems to know what happened . So they have you waiting 2 hours diiddling yourself and no one has any information . Go China southern yeah ! NOT"
Minus: "The worse airport of my 22 years experience. Almost everyone there have no english. Unprofessional and kind of disrespectful. The worse of all is too many documents processing. Taking atleast 15 minutes to be cleared just 1. 1h 45 minutes to finish everything. Wuhan haha next time free flight i will not bother. Ohh 1 more thing. They use the Communist system in the international airport"

Plus: "I always sit in the upper deck of the A380. The 80 tourist class seats are much better than the configuration on other planes. The service is great and personalized. CS's food always amazes me with its quality."

Plus: "Had some last minute changes and had to cancel the flight. Even though the 24 hour cancellation period had long passed, we had no problem getting a full refund from China Southern. The phone waiting time was pretty long, but they were very courteous and helpful. Would use this airline again if anything for their customer service."

Minus: "Our flight fr Mnl to China was delayed and missed out flight going to SFO. Have to stay ivernight didn’t get to the hotel untill 1am and flight is 10 am and the flight have a stop at a different China city and have to change plane again. Travel was so long and inconvenient."
Minus: "My bag didn’t make it to the final destination. I was one of many people in the same situation who made the same journey originating in SF and ending in Bangkok. We had an almost 3 hour layover in Guangzhou, so I doubt that there wasn’t enough time to make the bag transfer."

Minus: "Transit process in Guangzhou Baiyun is very disappointing as we had to step down the staircase to the tarmac squeezed onto the bus that takes us around the airport to get drop off in another side of the airport, giving me very little time to run for my connecting flight. Airline also left my luggage in Guangzhou, so am yet to receive my luggage as per now."

Minus: "Contacting china southern customer service as an English speaker is outrageously difficult and time consuming. Out of 3 meals on the plane only one of them was edible."
Plus: "Ontime departure, guest pack with toiletries, eye mask and ear plugs along with a blanket and pillow for each seat. Roomy seats with a massive variety of entertainment options for the long flight. We encountered a significant amount of turbulence and the staff were kind, accommodating and not too restrictive with the seat belt sign."

Minus: "My experience with flying China Southern for my flights from SFO to BKK and HAN to SFO was the worst that I have ever experienced in my many years traveling for work and leisure. I took this trip with Connor Logan (booked separately) and we both received the same service. To start, when we arrived at SFO we were told our flight was delayed for 7 hours due to mechanical failure and that we would be unable to make our connecting flight in CAN. Even though we had checked the flight status the morning of the flight, there was no information updated. When I spoke to a China Southern employee, she told me that she was informed the Night Before when her boss called her into work because they knew an entire flight would have to be rerouted, yet they did not even warn passengers the morning of the flight. After being changed to a new flight plan, we struggled to get proper help to get our tickets with United and China Eastern because there were some issues with paper tickets that China Southern gave versus the tickets that United accepted. It took 4 hours of confusion in SFO and a stressful quick layover in Shanghai. We did not feel taken care of."

Minus: "The interiors look very dated and bare, even though you know that the aircraft is not that old. Chinese tend to travel in groups to Europe and my flight had a handful of those groups. They tend to be loud."
Minus: "Guangzhou airport is confusing so it took me a while to find the international transfer flight. But there are signs in English everywhere so eventually I figured it out. China requires a transit visa but easy to get, make sure you bring a pen."

Minus: "Cancelling my flight and unable to get me home for a wedding in time. I had to rebook on another airline and got no answers to when my reimbursement will go through."

Minus: "They changed my flight hours before I was due to leave to another flight the arrived later then my connecting flight left. They offered to change the flight to one that would cause a 23 hour layover in Ghangzhou. They refused to pay for accommodation or even upgrade me for the inconvenience. The customer service representatives were rude and not helpful. I ended up having to get a refund. I flew with Korean Airlines and had a great experience. I'll never consider using them again."
