I was under the assumption the extra charge would give me a seat with only one extra person next to me. On both flights to and from JFK I was seated in a row with 3 seats and not the last row as promised. Just wondering if a refund for the extra charge would be possible."

Sen fick vi vänta ytterligare 1 timme ombord i värmen helt ohyggligt när folk börjar oroa sig för konsekvenserna etc det var ju uppenbart ingen skulle komma ut amma kväll (efter midnatt). När väl ute fanns bara 1 service desk till hela planet, jag kunde åka hem och sova och skita i vouchers men de som behövde hotell lär ha väntat halva natten. Det enda som var ok var att de svarade snabbt på telefon följande morgon - men meddelade inte som man sagt den nya bokningen via sms eller mail!"

Minus: "Boarding was not done by row and led to delays and discomfort. The crew was rude and not helpful. At one point, a sick passenger was requesting help for what seemed like 25 minutes before they got back to her. The plane was still dirty from the last flight. I'd give Swiss a pass next time...not really a pleasant flight experience over all even if they got us there in the end."

Minus: "BOARDING: It was a mess, everybody was called to board at the same time which slowed down the seating process in the place. CREW: Because of certain food intolerances I asked for a special meal and fortunately the meal had been prepared but the crew was not aware it was for me and first gave me the regular meal. Both for lunch and afternoon snack! I would appreciate they know my specifics and don't bring me food I cannot eat. ENTERTAINMENT: I recently made the acquisition of a new and very comfortable pair of noise cancelling headphones which I was excited to use but couldn't because the audio plug required two jacks! I have not seen that in a place for quite some time."

Just like other airlines, now have started feeling that Economy class travellers are being approached with bit biased approach in hospitality though they have major contribution in meeting flight running expenses. All airlines should start considering this fact and improve the overall approach."

Baggage delivery at JFK took forever."

Also, my wife and I usually take our tea with honey vs. milk and sugar. Even though honey is usually one of the options for tea, she found a way to accommodate our request. The lunch meals were the best I can remember in a long time on an airline flight. They might have been the best I've ever had. The chicken curry was authentic, flavorful and spicy. Frankly my outbound flight had problems. My luggage got damaged. The transfer experience in Manchester left a LOT to be desired. I wasn't planning to use Virgin Atlantic again, but this flight crew (Daniella especially) redeemed Virgin Atlantic. They were attentive, pleasant, diligent."

Minus: "The seats are so small that only your backside fits on it and we are not big people. There is no support for the thigh and I had severe cramps after leaving the aircraft. The flight to LA with Virgin Australia was far more comfortable."

Shortly after take-off, our calm and comfortable more or less empty section of the aircraft was colonised by an extended family of Orthodox Jews in a kind of airborne West Bank situation. They weren’t in our section of the cabin at all to start with, and I don’t know why they were apparently able to get a free upgrade that I had to pay £100 for. We went from being in an almost empty cabin to being basically sat in the middle of an Orthodox Jewish kindergarten. It was awful! They were noisy, messy, were constantly getting in and out of their seats, the back of my seat kept getting kicked, and there was even a baby crawling around the aisle. We were surrounded. I have no idea whether this is characteristic of Orthodox Jewish family life, or just a completely inconsiderate family. They didn’t exactly ruin my flight, but they didn’t make it enjoyable either. I asked to be moved. The cabin crew were great and acknowledged the difficulty of the situation. My wife lost her window seat but at least we still had the legroom and peace and quiet."
Minus: "Incredibly uncomfortable, not enough minimum space to fit my knees behind seat in front when front passenger reclined. 6 hours is too long to have a metal rod sticking straight into your knee caps. Shoulders were squished between other passengers and had to sit twisted the whole way and Im not a large person, but am 6ft. Cabin crew impolite and unhelpful. Food was awful and made my friend sick."

Minus: "My daughter was booked on this itinerary and was finishing her last leg of journey. Complete ticket was booked thru Delta Airlines. Her flight from Amsterdam to New York today operated by KLM, was delayed by few minutes. And Delta flight from JFK to Cleveland DL4084 was preponed by airlines. Result was my daughter was not allowed to board the aircraft. Worst was yet to come. Your staff at the gate offered her a flight to Cleveland for next day at 3:30 pm??? Means around 24 hours later. Is this how you behave with a girl of 19 years, asking her to stay at the airport. She was refused Hotel and Lounge stay by your team!!! Is this what you call customer services??? Obscene services is what I would like to term it as!!! My daughter asked them to give this is writing, which was refused to her. Why are your people scared to put it in writing if everything that you are doing is right by the Law??? I was left with no other option but to book her on American Airlines flight today departing at 9 pm to ensure that little girl doesn’t have to spend close to 24 hours at airport by paying $423. It’s simply called Halal otherwise then everyone else’s meals should be called Christian or Jewish meals etc. Also I requested help with transfer to my last flight which was horrendous because I’m one adult with 4 kids ages 1 to 11 and my eldest has sever learning disability. I nearly missed my flight because our flight landed late and I was struggling to keep my kids safe and together while running for the next flight. Somone should have been there to help with transfer."

On my short flight from Basel to Amsterdam, a young French speaking girl was concerned about how to manage getting to her next gate. The flight attendants talked to her and arranged for someone to take her there. On my longer flight from Amsterdam to New York City, there was a customer who was in distress about missing a previous flight and not making it to her connecting flight in New York. One of the flight attendants reassured her until she stopped crying and calmed down. That same flight attendant was always so positive and cheerful in all she did. The rest of the crew was top notch. This was my best experience flying in such a long time. Well done, KLM crews of flights 1984 and 0645 on July 10!"
