Location excellent, room spacious, staff friendly. An excellent stay! Price a bit high, bathroom could use renovation (but was perfectly functional). A light in the closet would be very helpful.
Location. Unresponsive staff. Examples: (1) concierge and room service rang out after trying repeatedly reach them for 10 and 15 minutes; (2) waitstaff in bar/dining area was slow and inattentive; (3) we needed 2 extra blankets and they initially resisted until we convinced them we were using all the blankets in the room and were still cold; (4) the food and beverages were overpriced and barely mediocre.
Very helpful staff. Under renovations
Construction was very inconvenient will definitely not come back until it's completely remodeled.
Rent hotell.
The staff was exceptional. ALL of them. Not much. The spa was priced really high so we ended up making other accommodations.
In a large double room, the sitting area had one very uncomfortable cheap chair. Fortunately, my wife did not mind sitting on the floor
Great views and convenient location!
Furniture was dated. Door locks did not operTe. They charge $60/night to park your car which was not disclosed up front.
Loved the location to union square and rooms were clean and comfortable
We liked the location the most, right at the corner of Union square and a block away from Chinatown, the Hop on/Hop off bus had a few stops around Union square. The staff was always friendly, the fruit and water we received upon arrival and the turn down service every night are also nice touches. Housekeeping was attentive. Upon arrival our room didn't smell really fresh, but couldn't say it was dirty. The windows can be opened however, so you can let fresh air in. The closet space is really small, but we didn't mind taking the clothes out of our suitcases. We thought the room was quite small, but maybe that was because we just came from a hotel suite in Vegas. You could also hear all the street noise (windows closed) and the neighbours easily, it seems the walls are thin. When housekeeping knocked on the door of the room next to us, it sounded like they knocked on our door.
Excellent service by everyone in the hotel without being overbearing! Great centrally located! Definitely recommend!
No wifi unless you pay more not even hbo on tv
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was immaculate and well-appointed. Beds were comfortable. Location was awesome with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, parking garages within close walking distance, and walking distance to Bay Area. No coffee and payment required for WiFi access in the room.
Location The bed and pillows. Not comfortable at all. Parking was too expensive. Although they did offer a garage to park for $30/day which I should have done.
Great location within easy walking distance to all attractions, shopping and restaurants.
Great bed and pillows. Clean room and bathroom. Fluffy towels. Plenty of room in the actual room itself. Front desk and doormen we very helpful. The staff were helpful and moved us from 403 to 606 due to noise. However the noise remained... although a little less than 403. The main source of the noise is the hotel lift wells that drone loudly all night long. This couple with the general street noise - cable cars etc makes it almost impossible to get a good night sleep
I always received a warm smile and greeting when I stepped through the door from the security guard (who would open the door too!) and the front desk employees. They really made me feel comfortable. Coming from the east coast to west coast, it makes the transition that much easier. The security guard even offered to help me walk to the store due to the late hour in case I was nervous. I was very safe in my solo adventure - no need to fear the neighborhood. Fun location, incredible hotel, outstanding service. A must stay!
The location is good and the hotel is clean and cheerful and unpretentious yet comfortable The room is very small and the rooms all have no views. The outdoor terrace is very small and sunny so hard to use. Not a lot of comfortable public space. An ok hotel in a convenient area.
Great breakfast Poor wifi connection. Room is quite small
The location is close to Union Square. Super small room, but that's not what really bothered me. I was an Expedia Gold Plus Member and I didn't get offered the VIP Service that was expected from them when I checked in, at 4:30am the sound of beer bottles being thrown into trash cans woke me up, that went on for more than half an hour, the noise was so disturbing, right next to out window. If that wasn't enough, it was Sunday morning at 6am and the Trash Truck pounded with the Trash Dispensers so loud, it was ridiculous. To complicate things more, I went to use the restroom in the morning and the bathroom got clogged, someone had to come up after a long wait so my friend could actually use the bathroom, which was so small that I hit my elbow every time with the sink. After that incident, I was just so tired to find that the towel I used after I showered had blood stains on it. This was such a horrible stay I can't even express how bad. The elevator is an antique tiny elevator, which took forever everytime we wanted to go down, especially when wanting to check out that morning, waited up to 10 minutes just to be able to use the elevator, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, terrible night.
