I was wearing light jeans and a short sleeve shirt, and I was sweating all flight. Each time I asked throughout the duration of the flight, I was told it take a while for the temperature to decline. It's one thing to be uncomfortably warm on a flight; it's another thing when the flight crew lies to you. Further, I was not the only one to request that the temperature be reduced. This made an 11 hour flight particularly miserable."

There was a screen at each seat where you could watch movies or TV, listen to music, or track your flight. The entertainment was free, and the crew provided free earphones. Blankets and pillows were provided."

Instead of sprinting through the airport, a man was waiting for us immediately outside the plane. He got our luggage right from the cargo, drove us to another man who stamped our passports, and then drove us to the plan just in time for takeoff. It was incredible service and everyone was super friendly. We so appreciated them making sure we caught our connecting flight!"

Minus: "I had such a miserable experience getting to Florence on Swiss Air that I sent a letter of complaint WHILE ON VACATION!! Really. It was a nightmare... not the way you want to start a vacation. I had difficulty booking my daughter's seat online for the return, but didn't have access to phone service while abroad. In my complaint letter to Swiss Air I requested they place us together. I never got a response and upon check in, they had my son and me in our purchased seats and my daughter at the back of the plane. I asked them if they could do anything about it (I was even willing to give up my seats to move to the back...) yet no one seemed concerned or interested in helping to make this work. They also had no knowledge of my complaint or appeared concerned about my prior experience. I'm so over Swiss Air. My experience with the employees on the phone prior to my first departure, the lack of response to my email, and a disinterested and inattentive staff on my return, have all convinced me to choose a different airline next time."

Minus: "I am not unusually large but it is clear that the seats on your planes are completely inadequate for anyone other than a child. There is no possible way for anyone who isn't seriously sedated to sleep or even sit for any extended period of time in what amount to slightly cushioned coffins. I literally spent an hour in the toilet trying to fall asleep because at least in there I had room to extend my legs. At least in there I could actually breathe (the ventilation system is totally inadequate for anyone sitting near the windows and results in horribly stuffy and uncomfortable air.)"

Minus: "The flight from Nairobi to Zurich starts in Nairobi, flies an hour south to Dar es Salaam, you then sit on the tarmac for an hour, then you fly north for an hour until you get back to the starting point. I would think they would save money if they flew an empty plane down to Dar es Salaam, picked up those passengers and then flew back to Nairobi. No way should an 8.5 hour flight take over 11.5 hours. Plus my screen didn't work for one of the flights, nearly 12 hours without entertainment was BS. No real variety in their meals either. The first leg had a main meal of beef and potatoes as the meat option, same option for the second leg."
Plus: "Crew was amazing. So patient and accommodating, even when passengers were a bit impatient. Cabin was clean, and it was good to have blankets and pillow on a long flight."
Minus: "Boarding was a bit chaotic. Food was okay but not substantial. Comfort was terrible in my seat - for some reason I had a seat with a metal box underneath so I could not stretch my legs. And the fellow next to me, in the middle, was over 6 feet and was VERY uncomfortable, even though he had legroom. There were good options for entertainment, but it was unreliable and had to be restarted once. Also, the screen was terrible quality and I could not see no matter how I adjust the screen angle or the light."
Plus: "The veggie food option was delicious. The calzone for breakfast was miserable. The restrooms were kept clean and well-stocked. Flight delay to wait for incoming passengers resulted in others missing their connections in SF."

Minus: "The Swissair website did not have my information available. Stood next to Passport Control for an hour (!) for a glitch they couldn't resolve before boarding. Flight was delayed 90 minutes. Worse quality beef on a flight ever, and that's hard to do. In my 1.5 million miles flown, these were the least comfortable, cramped seats I have ever experienced. I am only 5'7", 150lbs, but for the first time ever could not reach my belongings in the under-the-seat space in front of me. Seriously, it was that cramped."

Minus: "The seats are terrible. Narrow, the armrests edgy and only partially movable. A large metal box under the seat takes away 2/3 of the legroom. The entertainment system is outdated, screen has no contrast and can only be viewed at a straight angle, which is impossible as soon as the seat is reclined."
Plus: "The crew did a great job of handling our 2-hour delay in starting from Zurich - we were kept updated on what was happening, the aircraft was at a comfortable temperature (not too hot, not too cold), and we were given water during the wait. Also, during the flight, the crew kept coming through with more water, which was VERY NICE! Plus, the moist towels prior to landing. It makes a big difference in comfort levels for such a long flight."
Minus: "The on-board entertainment system was old and very clumsy to handle (with the embedded control in the arm rest). Also, it crashed on me two times and had to be re-booted, which was frustrating and took a long time every time it happened."

Minus: "There was no indication of what line went where while in the boarding process. Nobody told us that we needed to get a blue stamp (??) on our boarding ticket, for what I still don't know. So then we needed to get in ANOTHER line and get the stamp and then stand in line AGAIN just to get on the plane! For being Swiss you'd think you'd have this part down AT LEAST! Boarding by seat number would have been a better idea. Everybody was all over the place getting their bags stored above."

När väl ute fanns bara 1 service desk till hela planet, jag kunde åka hem och sova och skita i vouchers men de som behövde hotell lär ha väntat halva natten. Det enda som var ok var att de svarade snabbt på telefon följande morgon - men meddelade inte som man sagt den nya bokningen via sms eller mail!"

The movie screen was barely visible so basically u could just listen."

Great service doesn't make up for the noted disappointments. Spending a $2-3 more on food would have helped, but placing us in a long flight in such a small airbus plane just won't do!"

I wish Swiss Air had told me ahead of time that the flight would hold until I (and at least two other people) got there, instead of of having us run like crazy in an effort to make the flight. Connection time was way too tight."

"I had to cancel my trip because of COVID delta. My brother who I visiting got scared and didn’t want me to visit. I paid for insurance that you provided through your site. Allianz hidden in terms that canceling because of COVID fear isn’t covered. I was never offered insurance through delta on your site witch I would have bought. Delta isn’t even giving me a credit for a flight and keep my money. What a scam and I’m very disappointed in the services I received."

I went to a kayak help desk to have a ticket printed that showed my TSA precheck because it wasn’t showing on my mobile ticket, and no one was there to help. I waisted for 10 mins. It then took me nearly 2 hours to get through security. I asked if I could get through quicker and was told I could not, despite it being passed my boarding time. I then ran to my gate where I waited for another 10 mins (no one was there, again) and then an employee came out and said they couldn’t let anyone board once the door was shut. He then directed me to the delta help desk (there was at least 20 people behind me who missed their flight). I then had to pay an additional $75 to get a later flight. The whole experience was awful and I’m disappointed with Kayak and the gate confusion, but mostly Delta and the lack of customer service."

Got to watch bag handlers throw and drop luggage like true gorillas. Delta, this time you truely are the worst. Wont book you again."

Minus: "The boarding process was a pain in the butt. Even though my boyfriend and I did a pre- check-in online the day before. We still had to wait over an hour to check our one piece of luggage and wait to be checked in and get the boarding pass. Even though the site says we have the option to print out the boarding pass or show the code on our phone, we still had to deal with all the hassle. The plane was smelly until we were about to take off. The first meal on our way back from Istanbul was awful. The omelette was greasy, overly cheesy and bland. Same goes for the spinach pastry in the same tray. On the flights to Cairo, there was not enough drinks served. I only had one beverage offered to me. I was bypassed when they were serving the coffee/ tea. Also, the timeliness with serving drink was bad... I waited about 4 hours before getting my first beverage on the flight home."

Minus: "1. The boarding process at Istanbul airport was horrible. No one could speak or understand english. My father was on a wheelchair and he was the last one to be boarded on the plane! There was so much confusion - some people wanted me to go separately from him, others wanted him to walk down the stairs on his own, etc. etc. There were hardly any announcements for people with special needs. Generally they are allowed to board first as they need more time to settle. I could barely find overhead bin space for his stuff. 2. There were several remote controls broken on the plane. A lot of people had to suffer through a non working entertainment screen. 3. One of the hostess was hardly listening to anything I had to say. She seemed to be in so much of a hurry and had a very bad attitude."

Minus: "The 12.5 hour flight is too long for my aging body!! Either bulkhead or business is needed for flights that long"
Plus: "My kids, wife and I loved flying to Turkish Airlines. Always on time, tasty and nutritious food, wonderful staff who help you with smile on their faces. Sure, we'll fly Turkish Airlines from now on."

Minus: "The Istanbul airport is very large and there are many people. The signage is generally pretty good, but it was confusing getting off the airplane from Berlin and seeing a sign saying something like " foreigners." I waited in that very long line for at least 30 minutes which ate up most of my layover time. Only to find out that it was for people with visas coming into Turley. I was directed to another, poorly marked, line for people transferring planes."
Minus: "Inability to get a full can of soda and beverages with ice, Wild kids who ran amuck in the cabins, insonsistent ventilation it was hot one minte freezing the next."
Minus: "Boarding took way too long - I waited in my seat with no air conditioner sweating so much."
Plus: "As with the departure, everything was smooth for those who had no carry-on laptop"
Minus: "The new carry-on laptop caused a delay of about 1 hr before departure and arrival an hour late, then claiming the laptop was almost a nightmare with long queue after picking up the luggages, one has to also claim their laptops in a make shift station In the baggage claims area. My suggestion is to put the computer laptops in alphabetic order by last name/surname, with the claim ticket,for easier access when picking up. As for departure, probably at check in to inform them that if you have a laptop carry-on so that can be taken care of right away as not to delay departure when they take it at the departing gate. This should be done at check in if in Turkey, or as a transferring traveler, to inform the traveler to take care of that as soon as arrived to transferring destination and for the traveler not to wait until boarding time at the boarding gate."

Minus: "Vegetarian meal was mediocre. Seats were extremely crowded. Person in middle seat was large, causing over-crowding because he required more than his seat. I didn't check out the entertainment, as I didn't know how to use the electronics."
Minus: "We had to wait about one hour after sitting."
Plus: "Good entertainment options, and they keep you well fed with their snacks."
Minus: "The plane departed 2+ hours late, and offered no free internet so we could tell our families that we would be late. They also didn't apologize or offered vouchers for the delay."

Minus: "I was crowded in amongst a family who decided to camp in my row of 3 seats. (Literally, on the floor.) I could not move because I needed the bulkhead and aisle seat to stretch my legs. I am a Diabetic and needed it for circulation. I did not say anything but, the stewardess should have made one of the people go back to their seat as he was wedged near the window and sitting on the floor. It made my 13.25 hours trip very uncomfortable. They had a child with them so, I didn't wish to complain while on board."
Plus: "The flight itself was great and the crew was wonderful"
Minus: "Due to the laptop ban, the boarding and un-boarding process was brutal. We had to stand in line for an hour and a half just to hand over our laptops, where for some reason they decided to have only 2 people handling the process which created a huge line. The flight was 1:30 late and as we landed, there was no method to the delivery of the laptops to people. I had to wait almost 2 hours to get my laptop. Again, they only had 2-3 people handling the distribution of the laptops. I understand the security issue, but this issue was known for weeks now and there is no reason not to have enough people on the ground to take care of the boarding and distribution of electronic devices to at least make this an easier experience. There is no excuse for such poor preparation and service."
Plus: "I got extremely sick on the flight from Istanbul to San Francisco. I now know I caught a stomach bug which hit me on the flights from Cape Town to Istanbul and then even worse from Istanbul to San Francisco. The flight from Istanbul was delayed by two hours due to customs delay for a passenger, as such there was a lot of recycled air. Take that and fact I'm pregnant and by time i started the 13 hour journey already felt sick. I started throwing up immediately and got sick 12 more times. the flight attendants brought me crackers, water and a cold towel and ice. My husband asked if he could pay to put me in business class but was not in airline policy. but i think given how sick and pregnant i was the flight attendant went to ask the captain if there was anything they could do to assist. they ended up moving me to business class to lie down and let me stay there for 3 hours. I got sick upon moving back but getting that rest really helped me. I felt like they genuinely cared about me and am so thankful to the two flight attendants who assisted: 1) Zumrat Bolukbas 2) Hatice (Cabin Chief) These women are amazing!"

Plus: "The seats seemed further apart, thus more leg room for my long legs. I was lucky to have all 3 seats so I could lie down and get some much needed sleep. New seats seem flatter and more comfortable to lie upon if one is lucky. Crew very personable and helpful"
Minus: "I had FOUR TKA flights in my travels to and from Madagascar last month. Nearly EVERY seat I tried did NOT recline, nor could crew fix any! Most unpleasant to sit for 13 hrs. behind large man whose seat did reclione and mine could not. 2 yrs. ago I flew to Niger on TKA and I found the food better back then. Please keep the delicious Turkish food I fear a down grading for economical reasons. Don't do it."

Minus: "The boarding took too long, cabin service on the return flight was a lot poorer than I received on the initial flight. It questions my quality recommendation to other people."

Minus: "I wasn't given an option to ask for a vegan meal at any point in the booking process. When I asked for a vegan meal on the plane the crew said I should have asked for one ahead of time and did not have a vegan meal for me."
Minus: "My flight was cancelled two days in a row. When i tried calling the 800 number call center, it didn't work. When i called the Turkey phone number, the communication was bad. After 3 days of being stranded i went to the Turkish Airlines office and they were not able to help me with a new flight or a refund so that i can purchase another ticket home."

Minus: "Isle seats after rows 47 start to be positioned with an angle to accommodate for the plane's narrowing structure. The result is much less leg space which is insufficient for 6'+ tall people."
Plus: "I really enjoyed the service! The crew was great! Everything I needed they attended to with outstanding service. At first I was skeptical about using Turkish Airlines, afterwards I would definitely fly with them again no question. Plus: "Took Turkish Airline from New Delhi to San Francisco. The flight is at 6:55am from New Delhi, so a little early start - but the connection in Istanbul is excellently timed. The aircrafts were 777-300ER on both legs, and rather new. The entertainment is great and the TV screens are 11inches. Could not complain at all. Food is fine, standard fare, and there are some snacks available through entire flight. Istanbul is a reasonable airport for a short connection. Turkish allows 2 bags of 50lbs free - yet another reason to take it along with the reasonable fares."
Minus: "The luggage delivery at SFO took forever! The flight landed at 4:36pm and I got my luggage at 5:40pm. This is something I have noticed on Turkish Airlines multiple times. They really need to work on their luggage workflow."

Plus: "The whole experience was great. After an excellent meal which included drinks before and an excellent wine selection the flt attendants came through and made up a bed for you. This included a cover for the seat, a blanket and a big pillow. As opposed to United where you have to stick your feet in a little cubby the Turkish plane has just an open bench which opens to provide storage and gives ample foot room. I have never slept so much on a flt. Also he bathrooms are much more spacious than others."

Plus: "The space between the seats in Business Class is phenomenal - most space i can recall in Business Class. The lay flat feature of the seat is also great."
Minus: "They put some spice, don't know which one, in almost all the meat dishes and unfortunately I don't like the spice. The mushroom, potato omelette was an egg omelette laying on top of canned mushrooms and a potato cake laying on the side. This is not a potato, mushroom omelette by American standards. The amounts of food are phenomenal and I couldn't eat all they offered."
Plus: "The entire trip was very good when though it was very long due to the stop over in turkey. The flight was very good ( business class). Service and food was outstanding. The seats were good. Laying down was still a bit tight due to the armrests remaining in the same position. The crew was extremely nice and always helpful. The Turkish Air lounge on Istanbul is great and makes the united lounge in SFO look like a soup kitchen. I would fly Turkish air again."

I flew on 4 Turkish Airline flights this year and have never finished a dessert as I've not liked any of them. The bathrooms should be cleaned mid-flight for a 13 hour flight. It started out great but towards the middle of the flight, the bathrooms got really disgusting."

When we first boarded, I informed the flight attendant that I had hurt my back just 20 min ago and if it was possible to change seats (since it was hard for me to move with 2 people sitting next to me) after boarding was complete. She was nice enough by offering me ice, and said that once I hear the announcement ''boarding complete'' I can get up and look for a more comfortable seat. When I did that she asked me to go back to my seat immediately without letting me speak, and not once during the 13hr 30 min flight did she come to check if I needed anything. Food was served twice, a 13hr 30 min flight and food was served twice. It was almost impossible to call flight attendants if you needed water, coffee or was starving..they were always in a hurry and a little rude. Definitely going with Emirates next time, the service there doesn't even compare!"

Minus: "The crew when boarding the plane in Istanbul were downright RUDE. Not just rude, they were unhelpful, unwilling to listen, and were actually offensive. It was quite bad. The boarding process was also terrible. The boarding area was stifling hot, crowded, and disorganized. There was no announcement telling us when it was delayed, there was no information about where to line up, and people were chaotically cramming in everywhere. They could have done a much better job of that."

Minus: "The checkin and "Automated" Baggage Check were a disaster. It took us a full 2 hours to check our bags and get to thru security and our gate. We were practically running to get to the end. The layout of the airport is very tough to get from point A to point B. Walking a long distance with multiple security checks. On top of that, the plane was almost an hour late boarding and then taking off. It was a mass of people with no way to cue for an orderly boarding process. No instructions or info given to allow us to go get something to eat or drink prior to boarding."
Plus: "I had to pay a premium more to sit with my family to sit together in cheap seats."
Minus: "I did not like the treatment of being a star alliance gold member then getting gouged even more for sitting together with my family in their cheap seats. My bags were marked with a priority tag, which meant nothing other than my bags being the very last off of the turnstile in San Francisco. One other passage stated that Luftansa does not care abut this aspect of customer service, which is obvious."
Minus: "Lufthansa has a horrible website. I wanted to check in online but I had to no reservation or ticket number is provided so I had to go to my old reservations to find it. .Next I wanted to pay for my luggage online but there was no link given. It says you can do it cheaper on Lufthansa.com but I could not find where you can actually do that. All in all spend 30 minutes with no result. Had to pay at check in $44 instead of $27. And it was just one of many other problems and inconveniences with their website."
Minus: "They had one guy checking passports and he was being trained. Someone asked if there was anyone trying to get on the SF flight and a bunch of us raised our hands, but they didn't do anything. We had to run like OJ to make our flight. Not fun. Then the AC wasn't working while we sat there."
Minus: "First time took Lufthansa airlines and it was my one of the worst experience. Hospitality is respected when customer is helped when they are in trouble not when they is happily boarded. I have to travel from Milan to San Francisco and I missed flight of my one leg ( milan to frankfurt) of journeyand I went for help and non of the Lufthansa staff at Milan airport helped me. Although my connecting flight was after 12hr they just gave me some random number which to call. I have never experience this in my 8yr of international travel."

Minus: "Check in with checked baggage required an agent. As with almost every flight in Europe, boarding was chaotic, not following zones, priority or people requiring assistance/gate agents did not enforce the boarding rules."

My electronic ticket said Lufthansa, check in at Lufthansa, but when I got there and tried to check-in...NOT Lufthansa! It was United. I deliberately went out of my way to NOT book with United when placing my reservation. Personal reasons. Won't book this way ever again."

Minus: "when we first boarded and went to use the restroom before the flight departed, the floor was sticky and smelled strongly of urine. had they even cleaned it on the turnaround? doubtul. several other toilets also smelled like urine early in the flght. the touch-screen on the entertainment interface is not very user friendly and was kind of frustrating."
Plus: "the gate crew didn't care if there was chaos. no interaction with waiting passengers beyond those that queued up with direct questions. i'd liken the experience to herding cattle. customer service skills haven't been taught to these folks yet. if i were basing my lufthansa experience on this alone, i'd go out of my way to fly another airline next time. on the other hand, the people staffing the flight were extremely kind, professional, pleasant, personable. a much improved experience. so much so that i mentioned it to a few people once i got home. this crew has received more training on how to provide excellent service than the gate folks in frankfurt."

Plus: "In Los Angeles, excelent service in counter, and all flight on time and confort, good service on board."
Plus: "The very gracious crew kept coming by with drinks and snacks, as well as lunch and dinner (in coach).The entertainment system is top notch, with a few dozen movies, lots of TV shows and more, with screens for each seat. The only complaint is that there's not much space between seats, so that when the person in front of you leans back, things can get tight. On the plus side, the bathrooms are downstairs (down a short staircase) and there's plenty of waiting room, so you don't get the usual congestion. Overall, a wonderful experience for an intercontinental flight."

Minus: "- Delay > 2 hours and no info at gate at the time of planned boarding - unfriendly ground staff and chaotic check in - old 747, "entertainment 1970s standard - crew looked unkempt (like just out of bed), unfriendly to downright rude, my 85 year old mum was ignored repeatedly and ended up not getting enough fluids as a result - 1/8 crew members managed a smile on occasion - rushed meal "service", all they wanted was to disappear to sleep - crammed spaces - while it was announced "we have three different meal choices, you will have at least two choices" - ummm, no, it was pasta. Period. To be fair the pasta turned out ok. The morning dry ham and cheese bun was not, especially without any drink."
Plus: "Food was very good, super nice crew. Good selection of movies. Boarding was great, we are seniors, we didn't ask for assistance beforehand, but the person at the gate called us over and had us board early. Much appreciated!"
Minus: "Seats were just too cramped. We chose seats and paid extra to do that, but the seating charts really didn't give a very good idea of what to expect or how to choose. Announcements were to difficult to understand. Also in the gate area, I couldn't understand names at all. Need to slow down and speak more clearly."

Minus: "The seats recline too much! The passenger in front of me almost immediately reclined her chair right into my face, making an irritable experience on a long flight for me. That is the only flaw in your service in my experience."
Plus: "Chairs were uncomfortable, mainly due to the front passenger was always in reclined mode, and the passenger behind me wouldn't let me recline... He would literally push my chair up, but that's probably because his chair can not recline!"
Minus: "We needed to place special request on vegetarian meal, couldn't do it at booking or at checkin, was told to let crew know, they said it's too late. They brought us an "unclaimed" vegetarian meal, but it wasn't, it was Asian halal meal with lamb! After I let crew member know wmy husband was served meat instead, she denied it and said "its not possible" as the wrapper says "vegetarian". I informed her it actually said "Asian halal", she the proceeded to say, well, "i am sorry if it's wrong, but I gave you vegetarian". That said crew member collected my husband's plates while I was in the bathroom and came back later with a "vegan" plate that they now have available."
Plus: "The seats were comfortable (economy), headrest excellent. Crew especially hospitable. Good food. It was nice to be offered drinks and food without extra charge, including alcoholic drinks ( even though we did not drink on the flight). I appreciate that Lufthansa does not charge for checked bag, food etc and hope to fly again on Lufthansa."

Minus: "But then they deboarded the plane and everything went south fast. They didn't tell us what was happening or where to go or what to do. Instead we were directed to different service centers. We were told conflicting things. Sometimes they told us to exit the airport through passport control, but without any information on what to do next. They reopened the terminal but then redirected us to a service center. That center was overloaded and we ended up waiting in line for service/information for the entire day. Once I was near the service center they dissipated the line. They told us there was another service center in a different part of the airport and that this one we have waited for was closing. We went there and it was also closed instead they had beds without blankets or pillows limit the halls. Alia we were in line for hours before they offered any water or food. Food was really late. Information was the problem here. We were not told what we should do except to check with the service center. Eventually a few of us tried to get through passport control and check the service center out front. This worked much better. I was able to get a hotel and a standby ticket. That flight went much better but getting that far was a mess."

Only when we missed the take off time by 10 minutes they bothered to update us and inform us that the flight is being delayed in 2 hours."

När vi frågar personalen vad som händer så säger de att väskorna skall lastas framtill i planet. DE LJUGER!! planet stänger dörrarna, vi startar och flyger. När vi landar så berättar de att bagaget inte kom med. utan väskor så åker vår grupp till hotellet. Det hemska var att besättningen ljög istället för att berätta och informera på ett bra sätt. Väskorna kördes ut och kom efter midnatt."

So, I can't rate this flight because it had nothing to do with Austrian Airlines. You need to update your site so that it clearly states "Operated by..." when people are booking."
Minus: "Flight from Dulles to Vienna was cancelled in the morning on the day of departure. We contacted Austrian and rebooked with Air France. The Air France flights were good overall. The food was okay, entertainment excellent, comfort good, boarding good, crew okay. On flight to Paris, the crew did not serve water during the period between dinner and the service before landing."
