The interrogation was completely stressful and resulted in a reschedule of the original flight and during the second attempt at flying even an email from the U.S. consulate with a link to the Shanghai/Chinese government immigration site was deemed "not official enough". i will be expecting proper compensation. I was once given an $850 travel voucher for voluntarily giving up my seat, and was flown first class to Hawaii, given 4 star accomodation and then flown first class on to China within 48 hours. This was an involuntary bump from our chosen flight time, all because of a lack of knowledge about current visa regulations and international law on the part of the check in staff. We have been loyal Delta users for over 15 years, and this was the biggest blunder ever. Also humiliating and extremely frustrating, stressful and a big problem with fulfilling our travel plans between son and father."

I could have flown this trip direct on United, but chose to fly through Atlanta on Delta for less money and a better experience from the baggage check to the gate to the in-flight experience."

Lousy service ast attempting to resolve situation. Given a choice, I do not choose Delta as a first choice airline to fly."

Why did we pay $25 a bag if you don't enforce this? Food choices are funny, especially the "tapas". Whoever thinks THOSE are tapas should Google the word tapas. Delta reportedly earned 746 million in the first quarter and you charge for everything and still can't come up with decent food for us to BUY?"

We also had to straighten up the seats during meals because it was so bad for the person behind. 2. Boarding is a bit disorganized. Perhaps try splitting the boarding process into zones so it isn't a mad house free for all after the initial boarders. 3. On my flight to Frankfurt, the plane was half empty, yet my seat was changed from row 8 where I would have had almost no one near me back to row 23 where they had cramped all the passesngers into one area of the plane. This was done without request or explanation."

Our flight was delayed twice, once in Frankfurt for late luggage and the ground crew left without pushing back the plane, then again in Seattle for a plane on the tarmac on fire. A 10 hour flight turned into 14 hours but I still enjoyed it. There was plenty of leg room and the seats were very comfortable. The entertainment was very enjoyable and the meals were satisfying. For such a long haul Lufthansa made the time flyby."

Plus: "I witnessed the flight crew defuse a conflict between two male passengers (that had escalated to shouting and throwing each others belongings out of overhead storage) before we left Frankfurt. A male steward showed he could be professionally stern when backing up a female coworker handling the situation and compassionate when he comforted an elderly woman in distress halfway through the intercontinental flight. The entire crew I interacted with in economy class were professional, friendly, welcoming, and helpful."

Arrival board at O'Hare said plane was on time, but listed gate as 0, which of course doesn't exist so our ride home had no idea what was going on or what was taking so long and ended up waiting over three hours for us to get through everything to meet them."

Absurd 2)Coming back from Iceland to Seattle, I saw many open seats in the Exit row, and the stewardesses refused to allow anyone to sit there, including a kind elderly couple whose husband was randomly selected to go through an hour-long stressful security check (despite being enrolled in the Global Entry program)."

Overall decent flight but I saw no difference in service or amenities on this transatlantic flight compared to any domestic flight."

And forget assuming the "crash position" anymore...the seat in front of you prevents that position unless you are 4'8" tall. God forbid the person in front of you reclines their seat...you can't even use your tray table or hold a book to read. 2. Food selection limited, but OK for the short flight."

Had to call customer service who told us to call back after 8:30 Iceland time. That's 10:30pm in Seattle. This after we'd flown from Copenhagen for eleven hours. Then they tell us the previous person should have had us fill out the online form. All very frustrating."

Minus: "There was no communication in Reykjavik to our boarding area, they boarded 20 minutes late with no communication or update on the intercom. Then they just opened boarding with no communication, very strange. IcelandAir still operates in the dark ages with seating assignments, I was unable to select seats for my flight ahead of time because tickets were purchased through another ticket vendor other than the airline itself. I also don't like how all food has to be purchased even though it is a 7+ hour flight."

Some people complain about the "no-snacks" thing but come on- what good will pretzels do on a transatlantic/transcontinental flight? I always bring my own snacks anyway. Everyone who bought food seemed decently happy, but do expect the airline price! They provided several services of water/coffee/other stuff. If you needed a little more, you could easily get up, ask for an extra coffee/water/other and they happily whipped it right out. Very nice."

Should be a cheap upgrade to change those outlets. Also, IcelandAir needs to look at upgrading planes. Main meal is too expensive for what it is (13 euro for a small portion of rice/chicken/curry of an OK quality)."
