The flight was very long but we were not bored, we saw 3 new movies, eat, drink and relax in a 11 hours flight. Oh, by the way, the hot towels to refresh us was perfect. Excellent experience."

The bathrooms did not have warm water and the sense of comfort is to be found only in business and first class. We fly to Zurich a lot because we have family there and we always take SWISS for a direct flight. They have old planes, the little TVs by the seats may or may not work and although the crew is nice and well trained, they cannot substitute for the discomfort of 10 hours flights in a crammed place. Sorry SWISS."
Plus: "The crew was great and the food was pretty good. The crew did a great job of keeping the lavatories clean and stocked. It was a 10.5 hr flight and they gave us one meal, a snack and a treat. Not a lot but since we were just sitting it was enough food. We had to stop for a meal on the way home from the airport."
Minus: "The seats in the economy cabin are cramped together. If the person in front of your leans back you are almost trapped in your seat. There is little leg room and the cushioning is not enough for a long distance flight. There is no boarding control. People just line up and get on the plane in any order."
Plus: "I was very pleased at the flight crew, the food and entertainment. We had a really fast connection in Zurich and our luggage made the connection, which was a big relief."

Minus: "Boarding was difficult with poor communication, before impolite request for spot check of carry-on bag and person. Ended up being one of the last to board. Entertainment system did not work, and after 4 requests for assistance to different crew members finally gave up asking and so had no entertainment for whole of flight. The last of the crew members suggested that an alternative seat or a future flight voucher could be given, but neither of these materialized. Food mediocre, and crew polite, but some not particularly friendly."

Minus: "I was randomly selected for a second security check at the boarding gate in Zurich airport, the security staff were unfriendly, said it was a TSA requirement even though I stated I am a United States Citizen and That I have already passed through a complete security check Point, still they placed a metal & scanning detector on my feet, hands & belt. This was a complete violation of my rights. Never have I faced a humiliating situation at any other airport. If this was a TSA requirement then everyone should be subject to a second security check."

After a long while it started working again. It was a long flight to not have entertainment the whole duration of the flight. Besides this little problem it was a very good flight. Crew very professional and nice."
Plus: "I had a super-short connection from Stockholm at Zurich (going to JFK), and I just assumed I'd have to be rebooted, but they held the plane for all of us! Entertainment was excellent, service was great - I really like the food, although I don't eat well on flights. Comfortable - I slept for a few hours. Really great experience (until I hit customs in JFK, but SwissAir has no influence on that :) )"

Plus: "We had two flights with Swiss and the first one left half an hour late, meaning we only had about 10 minutes to connect to the next one. Instead of sprinting through the airport, a man was waiting for us immediately outside the plane. He got our luggage right from the cargo, drove us to another man who stamped our passports, and then drove us to the plan just in time for takeoff. It was incredible service and everyone was super friendly. We so appreciated them making sure we caught our connecting flight!"

Minus: "SWISS always turns on the air conditioning too high on intercontinental flights. It is HOT inside the cabins. The entertainment system is very outdated, small screen and old and used hand set. Claiming to be a premium airline is unfortunately very overstated if you are unlucky to catch the old business class planes. Only few have changed to the new versions (777s) - Make sure to catch those."
Minus: "They charge you an extra $ 100 DOLLARS FOR THE OPTION TO PICK YOUR SEAT AND WHEN YOU CHECK IN THEY SAY THAT IT WAS JUST TO SIT IN THAT SECTION OF THE PLANE. WE PICKED OUR SEATS BY THE FRONT BULKHEAD AND WHEN WE CHECKED IN THEY REFUSED TO GIVE US THOSE SEATS BECAUSE THEY SAID OTHER PEOPLE PAID MORE THAN US TO HAVE THEM. THEY SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FOR THIS KIND OF FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY."

Minus: "I am not unusually large but it is clear that the seats on your planes are completely inadequate for anyone other than a child. There is no possible way for anyone who isn't seriously sedated to sleep or even sit for any extended period of time in what amount to slightly cushioned coffins. I literally spent an hour in the toilet trying to fall asleep because at least in there I had room to extend my legs. At least in there I could actually breathe (the ventilation system is totally inadequate for anyone sitting near the windows and results in horribly stuffy and uncomfortable air.)"

Plus: "We were worried based on negative reviews on SWISS we had read prior to our trip, but they were WONDERFUL!! We flew coach from MIA to CRETE, two stops and 13+ hours of flying. The seats were as roomy as coach gets, but comfortable, reclining further than Delta or AA in my opinion. The food, drinks and snacks never stopped and were tasty!! Including a delicious Swiss chocolate a the end of your flight! They were so attentive! The attendants were all kind and polite. In fact, we had someone sit in front of us on our flight home who culturally didn't bath/wear deodorant and VERY malodorous and we asked the flight attendant if we could move. As soon as everyone boarded and she found two open seats for us, she moved us right before take off and we had a wonderful, great-smelling 10.5 hour flight!! LOL"
Minus: "There seems to only be 4 (plenty) bathrooms right in the center of the coach area of the plane, but with the flight attendants constantly serving drinks and food, you really had to time it so you could get to the bathrooms when they weren't in the aisles. Trust me though, this is hardly a negative and I will happily fly SWISS over and over!!!"
Plus: "The flight was very good what I didnt like in that when i booked the flight it never said that my ticket wouldnt be able to add lifemiles for star alliance. That was only the reason i chose this airline. When i ask about my lifemiles the answer was that my class of ticket didnt get any lifemile. I felt cheated. You should put it somewhere visibly so the person knows before booking. If i knew it before i never chose this airline."

Sitter man här i Prague utan ombyte och vinterjacka som checkades in med väskan eftersom man blev ombed at på grund av fullsatt plan checka in sitt handbagage vid gaten innan man skulle kliva ombord. Ingen direkt ursäkt och inte det minsta fundering om att erbjudas möjlighet att anskaffa någon vinter jacka. Inte bra."

Upon arrival at airport we were sent to gate for flight 813 when printed the tickets (for 811). VERY confusing. No notice from Kayak on the change, and Kayak still showed us on the 813."

She is an old woman who gets lost and I had to order assistance for her, in Washington DC they opened her bags after that they lost the bags, she had medication on them and it was a nightmare to get them back. Im really upset and I don’t think That I’m going to book with this aero line again."

Attendant on plane totally unhelpful and could have rearranged a few bags to make room but preferred to stay in back of plane and talk. To be fair, rest of flight was pleasant although late due in part to boarding issues."

This was the reason, why a chose KLM! Then I tried to connected on board but I couldn’t! WiFi was not available. Crew told me that they don’t know anything about it! I was disappointed and angry."

Minus: "Big struggle for airlines still remains varying quality customer service. Finnair still seems to struggle with this occasionally. Finnair can work harder to keep customer service quality high. Hate to say it, but perhaps letting the bitter, last generation flight attendants who seem to have a grudge about the decline of the glamour and benefits of the job as flying has become commonplace with more competition (seen this on Finnair & N America’s older airlines line United)"

Minus: "The flight was cancelled and changed to 2 stops from one. We purchased a 1 stop flight because of the kids. In mid season a week before departure, we were notified about the change and it was impossible to get a same priced ticket so close to departure. We bought insurance but even with that was impossible. Looks like a scam. Very upsetting, messed up the whole thing."
Minus: "We had to sit on the runway for a very long time after landing and I missed my connecting flight. It also took a very long time to get a hotel assignment because I was stuck in Chicago overnight. The finnair air agents at ohare were not very understanding or helpful. I was sent from their line to American Airlines and then back again. They were slow. We waited in the line for a long time for someone to come and help us. overall they were not very apologetic regarding the fact that I was stuck there overnight. It took soooo long to get to the hotel. I arrived there well after midnight. Overall it was a very unpleasant experience. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY FLIGHTS ARE BOOKED SO CLOSE TOGETHER. NO LAYOVER TIME IN BETWEEN MEANS MISSED CONNECTIONS! THIS HAPPENED BOTH WAYS ON MY TRIP. VERY ANNOYING"

The crew was not very attentive during good service. It was more of a routine / rush job rather than making sure that everybody was served and got what they needed ( had to ask for my dinner as my row was skipped and was never offered coffee before landing). The crew seemed rather young and inexperienced. The food was below average!!!! Especially the chicken patty before landing - seriously!!!!! Why not include a little bit of Finnish / Scandinavian cuisine to emphasize the Finnair brand!!! Entertainment was also below average. There needs to be more variety - especially for the TV selection, which had only 2 options!!! No music and no games?? Also, it would be nice to have access to a flight map. Too few accessible WCs"

Minus: "There was no reason given why the flight left Helsinki 35 minutes from schedule. Boarding aircraft seem to take a longer time than usual for a full flight. The flight crew during boarding in economy didn't have the push needed to get everyone seated in an efficient manner. The tv screen does not move out far enough to view when the person in front has their seat all the way back. Selection is limited compared to the non stop flight previous from Miami to Helsinki. There isn't an option to view the flight details in flight which is interesting to some passengers. At least have the option."

We really enjoyed our experience on the outbound flight with Finnair and were looking forward to this flight also, but Finnair didn't service this flight."

I was charge almost $60 for this service because I did not have the right references sent with my confirmation email. T he seats were cramped and uncomfortable, I was unable to pick my seat on any flight and despite my request could not change it. Boarding at Chicago was a farce, none of the ground crew seemed to be in charge and we barely started boarding with 20 mins to takeoff. Needless to say the flight left late and we had to wait to take off, and of course had to wait to land in London."
